Show us those chompers, boy!
Ragtime paints a more vivid pictures of its era than any other genre I've heard. When I listen to Joplin I feel like it's 1900.

So I've been reading about Trent Reznor and his escapades on /mu/ recently and I've decided to get in to nine inch nails. I've never heard a song by Nine Inch Nails.
What album should I start out on? I'm seeing pretty much every chart start with The Downward Spiral. Is this correct?
I'll post my reactions as I listen to it.

Listening to Mr. Self Destruct right now. It's fantastic. The instrumentals are fucking fantastic. Reminds me almost of a Silent Hill kind of ambience or Death Grips.

I did not like this album. At best I felt 5/6 of these songs were fairly nauseating duds. How do so many people relate to it? What am I missing?

My latest, Here Comes Everybody - loosely inspired by Finnegans Wake; the album is cyclical like the book. I Draw from Talk Talk, Tim Buckley, OPN, Tim Hecker, Miles Davis, Ligeti, Aphex, Julia Holter, King Crimson, Slowdive, Can, Eno, and many others - Would love feedback, cheers x

Kevin Shields and Morrissey are both big fans of the Oi! band Cockney Rejects. Morrissey went so far as to write the foreword to their frontman's autobiography and had them support him on tour.

Autechre are big fans of Ween

>why did they make archtops without soundholes even before they had electric pickups
Without any soundholes? I'm not aware of any, do you have a picture or a link? In theory it would still work, it would be like a closed speaker cabinet instead of an open one.
>also is there an archtop with a bridge pickup? but like a jazz hollowbody not just a semihollow like a es335
I know that the retrofitted pickups (in the very early days) were mostly in the neck position for some reason (warmer tone was more suitable for jazz, or they didn't know any better?). I'm no expert, you can browse big music stores for hollowbodies and see if some come up with a bridge pickup. Be aware though that a complete hollowbody guitar can have issues with feedback if you play amplified, that was one of the reasons why they made semi-hollows.
>>74095678
They're made in mexico, mexican labour is cheaper so they can be produced cheaper. Because of that they are also the "cheaper line" of Fender guitars, meaning they use some cheaper hardware and pickups than the american ones. Not a massive difference. People also say that quality control is tighter on the american made ones, so the standard of production should be higher with these but who knows honestly. And if you get one and have a luthier work on it to make it perfect (if that is necessary) then there won't be a real difference between the two except for slightly different hardware and pickups.
