Anybody else impressed at how fast Despacito is becoming the most popular song of all time? It's going to beat See You Again pretty soon, and that song took 2 years to get to 2.9 billion views, whereas Despacito only took 6 months to get to 2.8 billion. It probably won't reached the 3 billion mark before See You Again, but it's really close.
Anyways, what do you think will be the next big song that'll get to 3 billion views in less than a year? Another non-English song? Actually yeah that's interesting, because both Gangnam Style and Despacito aren't English, and if it weren't for Paul Walker's death, which is what See You Again is about, I doubt it would have gotten this many views.

Why is this song so popular to begin with?
I'll take things that don't matter for 400, Alex.
>>74235809
I think because of how catchy it is, and in my opinion it's actually a good song. Even though I can't understand a thing they're saying.
I personally didn't like Gangnam Style because of how "loud" it was, but Despacito is something I could listen to in almost any situation and it would feel right.
Laying in bed or sitting at the computer? I can listen to the song and feel comfy.
At a house party or out clubbing? The song can be played and everyone can dance to it.
It works in every situation.
Good evening, /mu/. Digital artist here taking commissions for free cover art. Give me something to do.

Holy shit I keep falling in love with him. It's 2017 and I'm here and I love this album, and years ago I checked it out for the first time and wasn't sure how I felt about it..
I'm testing the waters of Frank Zappa since they knew each other and they're compared to a lot..
What are your genuine feelings of Captain Beefheart? Was he just some guy on psychedelics who's improvisations and ramblings or was he an actual genius? He is a very fascinating man the more I read about him. Didn't think his persona in an interview would be the way it is but you can find videos of him with David Letterman and getting applause..
It's still incredible to think how nearly all of that album was recorded in one session, and that none of it was improvised. They even play it exactly as they do on the album in live recordings. Some might say that anybody else could have made TMR, but I disagree -- I don't think that many people can play an entire double album's worth of material exactly the same way as they practiced all in one go. That takes an absurdly high amount of discipline.
>actual talent
>didn't strictly conform
>fucked around with words
>hates the public
If Animal Collective does it it's great, if Hunter S. Thompson fits his persona he's just a goddamned cool hippie but if it's mixed with blues and jazz it's crazy.

This. Remind yourself that people are deliberately making themselves sound the way they are and you end following the same groove as them.

The lyrics are cheesy, that's part of the charm.

I guess this album wasn't made for these times...
How come the guy in the middle isn't feeding a goat?
Has an indie darling ever fallen from grace so abruptly?
i'm really surprised it took arcade fire fans this long to realize they're bad
Wait people don't like the new album? I think its great...
>abruptly
It started with Reflektor
I need sad slowcore preferably with a deep, dreamy sounding singer.
anything upbeat is a no go

Also discuss the new album. The flow from The Alien, The Sunshine, and The Grocery is incredible. And Lead, SD was a pleasant surprise.
I'd give it an 8/10

Really tried to enjoy this album. It has some of my favorite songs of this year but sometimes it just sounds so bland.

The new album is so fucking good dude, I was keen for it ever since they released The Gold as a single. The Silence is probably my favourite song at the moment such a fitting end to an incredible album
