What albums are these?
one of them is Vektor- Terminal Redux
>>74308069
one of them is definitely Sun Kil Moon - Benji
pretty sure I see twenty one pilots - blurryface in there
Have you listened to each album on Scaruffi's list for the best hip-hop albums of all times? I guess I also have to ask if you respect Scaruffi's opinions, and if you even bother to listen to hip-hop.
I stumbled upon the full cLOUDDEAD album on jewtube while listening to music in the background. I listened to the whole thing, actually enjoyed it, and recalled it from Scaruffi's list. So I looked it up again and started listening to the number one album.
I'm actually enjoying it. Will all the albums on his list be enjoyable? What do you think about his picks?
>>74307980
Keep in mind those lists are old as hell. His favourite rapper, Kanye West, isn't even on there.
>>74308015
How old?
>>74308015
>His favourite rapper, Kanye West
How do I write chord progressions that are actually interesting and not cookie cutter? Any advice would be appreciated.
>>74307950
steal them from better musicians. long as everything else is different enough no one will notice.
>>74307950
>and not cookie cutter
have fun being unsuccessful and ignored. there's a reason people use the same chord progressions.
Learn the diatonic seven chords of the harmonic and melodic minor scales
Also learn 11th, add 9, all the different chord extensions, then try substitution theory. Maybe parallel progressions from major to minor? Cycle of sixth? Progressions based on a tone and a half movements?
Two conflicting chords at once? Moving in unison or opposite directions?
Chords made up off the neopolitan scale?
Chords arrangements based on animal song melody?
Why can you stream pretty much ever Captain Beefheart album, but not his most famous one? I had to buy a CD from the Frank Zappa website for like, $20.
>>74307883
whoever holds the rights is a cunt, ez
>>74307883
isn't it on youtube?
His stuff got released on a lot of different record labels.
>>74307904
Frank Zappa because it's a Bizarre Records recording? Or whoever is in charge of that now, no idea how it works.
Is /bleep/ the worst general on /mu/?
>muh shitty EDM is so superior
>much shitty DJs who press play are better than THOSE shitty DJs who press play because they're more obscure
>only listen to singles like a fucking normie pleb and always shit on the idea of albums
Fuck these goddamn nerds. They're worse than most EDM "bros" because they've actually deluded themselves into thinking that their shitty music is any different from other EDM and try to act pretentious about it.

no one told me michael gira cut an album with weezer
>never give Linkin Park a chance
>friends always praised Hybrid Theory but I always though they were just emo trash
>only songs I knew was Crawling from an old Newgrounds video and In The End from all the recent maymays
>decide to finally give Hybrid Theory a chance
Damn, this is actually pretty good. What are some similar albums? Is any of their other albums as good?
Meteora is a good follow up. Rest is pretty much trash
>>74307761
none are as good as HT but Meteora is a solid project in my opinion
>>74307761
Meteora is basically hybrid theory II
*deletes Ringfinger*
*deletes Trent's horrible vocals
>>74307749
Good work. Now delete the rest of the album as well and you're good.
Depeche Mode for edgelords
>sometimes i feel very sad
>sometimes i feel very sad
So this is the power of Pet Sounds?
hey now, it's a love thing
>Close my eyes, she's somehow closer now
>Softly smile, I know she must be kind
>When I look in her eyes
>She goes with me to a blossom world
So if Brian could write good lyrics like these, why didn't he do it more often?
>>74307752
Because those lyrics were written by Mike.
was it kino?
Fuck. Kino is amazing, Viktor Tsoi had so much charisma.
Man lady cure sure looks different.
Is this the catchiest pop song of the 00's?

Idk why dont you figure it out yourself?
>>74307520

>>74307264
what am i looking at?
there are only a handful of guitar solos that i genuinely enjoy listening to. In fact, i have my top 6.
6. When the Levee Breaks - LedZ - Appealing on every level
5. Hey You - Pink Foyd - Really captivating
4. Hotel California - The Eagles, long stretching outo incredibly nice .
3. Comfortably Numb (2nd solo) Though more the song itself. The solo manages to improve it.
2. Time - Pink FLoyd - Just rips into everything, exceptional. eargasm everytime, and always insufficient volume!!.
1. November Rain.- Guns 'n Roses -yeah..
Aside from these. Stairway to Heaven, Bohemian Rhapsody, more Queen and Pink Floyd. I can usually tollerate.. The Beatles kept it nice and modest. always appreciated that.
There will be some more I don't mind or not patricularly care for. Yet usually solos fail to settle for my indifference, Dreamtheater hasnt got one that impressed me. I generally can not stand them.. And get annoyed by them..
Usually disagree with people proclaiming guitar gods and all - Yeah I'm sure they play really complicated and outstanding, but it doesn't sound any good to my ears.. well anyway
Based on my fav's what is there to recommend that you think would win me over?
>eargasm everytime, and always insufficient volume!!.
>Song - Band
