OK that is good to know. When I first started out I always imagined that the majority of the gear would be light up and functioning and running at the same time on every other song.
Makes me wonder why so many people leave their shit on 247. Everytime I see an interview inside a recording studio there is almost always a wall of racks behind the guy bleeping and booping.
>>74380857
in a commercial studio you always have an automated system or at least a series of switches next to the door that turns all the shit on in the right order because you don't want to crawl around behind desks racks and turn on 200 devices every day.
also blinking lights obviously look good on camera
>>74380882
>switches next to the door that turns all the shit on in the right order

>everything sounds great
...
>songwriting is complete garbage

I really love this band but my friend told me they sound like a Melvins rip off. Do you agree with him? What do you think of ISIS?
panopticon is good, helped get me into metal
>>74380518
clearly influenced but not a rip off... & certainly not as strange
>>74380518
Nu-male garbage
This is probably a stupid question but is being able to play Scott Joplin's Maple Leaf Rag after a year and a few months of piano lesson's impressive? Idk I feel like my piano teacher praises me a bit too much and I'm starting to doubt it. Opinions?
It depends. How well can you play it? Can you play it by memory or do you need sheet music? How much practice went into learning the song? Ragtime piano is one of the easier piano styles, or at least that's what I've found.
>>74380513
It's okay but not that intricate. I'd say it's fairly impressive. Also is it from memory?
>>74380575
I always learn everything by memory. And I guess I can say that I can play it fairly well at normal tempo. And 2 weeks ish of practice. It could have been shorter but I was lazy
