It's easy if you try
Knowing they are below us
This fist is not afraid to fly

or else what ? you're going to leave?
Hey /mu/, after a little advice. There's a particular style of music that I really like, and I'm desperately trying to find more, but I can't pin it down. I'm guessing it must have a name because it's quite a distinct style, but I'm going to have trouble giving examples.
It's kinda bluesy, but it's kind of a particular South American style. The most mainstream example, though it's not spot on, is the music (but not the vocals) of Red Right Hand by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. A better example (though again without the vocals) is a track called The Princess by Parov Stelar, which recently featured in a car advert.
It's hard to pin down because it's not a particular quality that qualifies it, more a vibe or a feel. Though obscure af, the best example is the music that accompanied an old cancelled tv show from the 90s called American Gothic (pic related). I've actually tried tracking down the music to that, but with no luck.
Can you help me /mu/?
For a little elaboration, it wouldn't be out of place for this music to have a gospel-style choir involved too, but it's not gospel blues I already checked that out. Piano is nearly always involved.
Another example I've come across recently, which certainly has elements of what I'm looking for, but isn't quite right, is a track called Don't Ever Let Nobody Drag Your Spirit Down by Eric Bibb (ft. Maria Mildaur and Rory Block).
It's definitely a slower style, slow and soulful, not in the least bit 'upbeat'. I'm hoping someone here who knows their stuff can point me in the right direction!
How does /mu/ like my lyrics? Can u guess the genre?

GOT THE ONLY KINO HOW TO TURN IT ON
Stop listening to hip hop.
Chance, Kanye, and Childish Gambino are unironically the best artists of 2016.
Everyone has shit taste and should be disappointed in themselves.
every time you make a thread like this, a rockist dies

Just listen to Sing Swan Song instead
I’m not sure if anyone knows the band, but the band itself is not the subject, it’s their possible albums. I know they released Operation Mindfuck and Meat Market Icons, but I discovered two other albums attributed to them while digging around (https://archive.org/details/noise-arch_w-pig and https://archive.org/details/noise-arch_wpig). It sounds like it could be them, but something seems off. Any thoughts on the matter?
where is can i get like whole music albums in a folder so i can drag and drop them into itunes and sync it up with my phone?
anyone lol ?

Why is this suddenly a meme now?
I get that it was in the Spongebob movie, so everyone knows it from that, but what's the deal with it just becoming a big thing in current year?
>>74321171
Just imagine halfway through typing that you hear a loud "OCEAN MAN!!!!" and you get dragged into the computer screen
>>74321171
I mean you cant really predict memes can you, and Ocean Man is a fucking bop either way, feel good tune in every aspect.
Dylan or Donovan? Also did Dylan show him up or was it just showing how ahead he was
>>74321106
Since you are a retard i will spoonfeed you. Donavan was a fucking hack whom copied dylan to the letter. You may notice that the song he did was pretty much a carbon copy of chimes of freedom. Dylan effectivley embarrased him in front of the party, ridculing his bland little ditty.

I legit have no clue how no one on this board is talking about this? Is the average /mu/tant really so underage that they don't know Grandmaster Flash?
>>74322064
they care so much about protecting their masculinity (which they don't actually have) that they refuse to care about anything that the status quo of /mu/ thinks is nu-maley.
most of them won't know who kidd creole is
this is p damn tragic, i bet it turns out to have some kind of wacky backstory (the dead guy was apparently a sex offender)
