Checked the catalog couldn't find a similar thread. Tried googling, can't find it. Hi fellow /mu/tants. I'm looking for a song when I was younger. Part of the lyrics were something (I'm paraphrasing, because I can't remember it clearly anymore): 'sometimes you gotta sacrifice the queen to win the game', rock/pop song iirc
Google results (chess related queen sacrifices, queen[the band] songs and songs with chess references and those are a not the song I mean, I think, not sure though.
Other people who need help with songs who they barely remember and need help from others are obviously welcome in this thread as well.

lets be honest this is the only redeeming good album out of the whole p4k/indie scene. that will stand the test of time as decades move on.
the mac demarcos, grimes, fjm, arcade fires, death grips will never be on the level of impact panda bear produced with this release.
till this day i can't even tell what year it was made. its a timeless classic that will put him in the history books. not to even mention daft punk themselves reached out to panda bear out of everybody to help them make a comeback.

LOL that isn't even Emergency and I. but you are right about one thing: p4k's usual albums they dickride with their reviews are usually absolutely terrible, especially the shitty hip hop they like. You can just smell the white guilt ridden, late 20s hipsters trying to be relevant by being "progressive" by featuring black artists.
And the smell is pretty fukken terrible lol

Tbh checked this album out due to reading about it's seminal role in getting Grimes to start making music, and... really wasn't all that impressed (can't for the life of me even remember how any of the songs went.) It's been a while, though, so I guess I'm about due for a re-listen to see if anything about my opinion changes.

I just started learning guitar. I've nailed down some chords but that's all so far. Do you have any recommendations for information that might help me? Also, pic related is the guitar I have. Knowing nothing about guitars, I'm not sure if I should buy some other more appropriate guitar.

Literally just practice. It's hard and frustrating as fuck in the beginning couple of months, but once you nail chords and scales and shit you'll be fine. Play along to songs and backing tracks. Bask in the glory of the Allman Brothers Band.

Keep nailing chords, find songs that you can mostly play which throw in a few you're unfamiliar with. I picked up cowboy chords and A/G scales first, then started throwing in barre / sus / 7's. Learn variations for your chords, barre chords make it very easy to see the way chords scale up and down. Good luck anon
