is this the best BM album ever?
A couple weeks ago I saw two morbidly obese metalhead girls in the restaurant we were at and the fatter one built like a giant melting pear was wearing a Drudkh shirt.

Does /mu/ love sunn o)))?
>>74403313
fantano and pitchfork also loves them so yes
>>74403313
Only after I saw them live
Their discography isn't too interesting, but a concert is a hell of an experience
I saw Swans and Black Sabbath too in the same year, Sunn was my favourite
>>74403313
Yes.
Ok no hate /mu/ , but can someone explain me what is prog rock all about since I don't listen to it.I mean what are the characteristics of prog rock.
I can hear a song or a band and say "well this song/band is prog" , but I don't know what makes it that way. What is the difference between classic rock and prog for example?
>non-traditional rock song structures
>unusual tonalities or time signatures
>often has more varied instrumentation than classic rock and incorporates other styles of music
>has emphasis on extended instrumental sections, sometimes virtuosic in their approach
>>74403280
they let all the instruments breathe and shine.

>Takes itself too seriously
>Songs are too long
>Silly lyrics about Lord of the Rings
Any tips on creating vocal melodies? Im pretty shit at it and can never add vocals to any instrumentals I make.. so im gonna take a new approach and start off creating a vocal melody first and then adding guitar etc. Thanks
Bobby Sherman is one of the greatest American musicians of all time and his influence is omnipresent in today's music, popular and underground - yet he is hardly ever even mentioned here! Who else /mu/?
Recommendations for stuff similar to Robert Glaspers work?
DO YOU REALLY WANT TO HURT ME?
DO YOU REALLY WANT TO MAKE ME CRY?
Can anyone recommend some nice smooth jazzy shit thats very piano-heavy? Or just music with lots of piano phrases in general.
I dont care for any other instrument

Opinions on Salt-n-Pepa?
>>74402935
For some reason I always had it in my mind that it was two girls, one white and one black. I'd call Mandela effect if I were retarded.
Anyway, they're good and everyone loves Push It.
Still better than grimes.
What did you think of this EP?
How do you think it compared to Not The Actual Events?
I thought AV was better than NTAE if you guys want my opinion.
Was never the biggest fan of the noisy and distorted NIN stuff, I prefer the mopey synth stuff

Loved the EP, strong moments, some of the best vocals from Trent (same for NTAE). I am happy to see Trent experimenting and also having a concept/story to go along with it, he is at his best when he has a clear vision and also experiments.
Is it better than NTAE? I honestly have no idea, I love both, I tend to listen to agressive noisy NIN more, but I get attached and get more from more the "beyond depressed" NIN.
This Isn't The Place may be one of his best track, it reminded me of "Leaving Hope", it was that good.
I really like how The Lovers transformed the feeling of utter terrifying anxiety into a song, I love the whispered lyrics too, I adore the "mirror reflecing a lie which is reflecting a lie" and the "I'm not the one driving anymore, I know who I am, I know who I am" it seems so utterly desperate, very effective.
Less Than is probably Trent's best single I can think of, as strong as say; The Perfect Drug or Closer, much better than stuff like "The Hand That Feeds".
The last track is wonderful, and then it is corrupted and for some reason, that part is really really growing on me, same happened with the ending of The Great Destroyer.

I think I prefer NTAE. It's refreshing to hear something that agressive from NIN. Also Burning Bright is a banger.
Is ambient better to listen to with headphones or speakers?
phone speaker
depends on the quality of mixing
It's better not to listen to ambient.
