Let's get another nu metal thread going, these threads have been surprisingly good so far. I'll be honest, I thought it was all lame poser crap when I was a teenager but now I've learned to appreciate the sound even if I don't care for the aesthetics.

Pic related has surprisingly decent riffage for a genre where the guitar parts are usually chord strumming with drop tunings to feel "heavy" without having to actually write riffs.

My favorite "happy place" visualization and also favorite feeling evoked by music is kind of petrichor-y cool foggy piney rainstorm sort of feel. Pic related and also some late romantic piano composers are top notch for this feel.

Anyone else have music that takes them to that place? Looking for more modern examples.
