Is there any other song as transcendental as this? It feels so spiritual and reminds me of something like nirvana/satori in Buddhism

Anything by Nirvana
What do we think? Digging it a lot personally. Still coming to terms with the fact that he'll never make another Insurgentes, but the 70s prog tributes were getting pretty tired on the last one so this is a welcome departure from that
Have the leak, haven't played it all the way through yet.
Of the officially released tracks, Song of I is the only song that doesn't do anything for me. Liked Pariah and Permanating, loved Same Asylum and Refuge. So I'm optimistic about the rest.
Well which one is it?
Joel from MST3K left to do pyrotechnics for them on tour; it's Astro-man tbhdesu

(Samefag) plus they did the outro for Space Ghost Coast to Coast

I like it. It sounds like it could have been from Experiment Zero.
Apparently, hip-hop turns 44 today.
What is the best hip-hop album of all time. and why is it Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)?

bottle dreams, nigguh
Can anyone recall this album name?
it was probably my core some time ago. the bands name is probably five letters and sounds like katar or something. the album is some kind of glitchy electronic. album cover is dark bluish with random objects. you guys must recall the name from these details.
I remember listening to it w couple of times and it blew my mind however I can't find it now.

wish I could bash yer ead in in some kind of time machine.
one last shameless bump
program vs. absolute?
Do you prefer your music to have an extra-musical narrative, like Strauss' Don Quixote tries to tell the story of Quixote through music, or do you prefer the music's narrative to be confined to the musical alone, music that is not explicitly "about" anything, like Beethoven's 9th?
I like my music to have a narrative and I don't think the music itself can ever be higher than the narrative because we as humans always ascribe a narrative to the music
>>74496521
I think it can work in either format but the music still has to come first. There's a few albums (more so album than classical pieces) that use storytelling as a crutch for poor song-writing. If I had to pick which one I preferred though, it'd be absolute music, or abstract or whatever. The feeling to convey emotion through music alone (without singing or lyrics) is pretty impressive, to me anyway
>>74496558
In either format I agree, but this is where I depart from the fags who think you can analyse music in some exclusively objective manner. There's simply no such thing as 'letting music speak for itself' and there's no reason why there should be, as the music is always a meaning that we ascribe to the music. Wittgenstein etc etc
I think that emotion that's conveyed always comes with a narrative
Music has incredible power in communicating tone and atmosphere. Typically I enjoy music with a narrative, but not an overt one. The music should communicate whatever tale it wants through its sound, so that my mind can interpret the rest as it desires. Those are the albums I have the most fun with.
Basing music off of prewritten material, while not impossible, doesnt turn out so well. Its hard to do a great adaptation between any medium, let alone the massive information loss from say novel to album.
Why isn't this /mu/core ?
it is
Because they made it obsolete with this opus
>If you in the car flash yo titties
>If you at the bar flash yo titties
>If you at the beach flash yo titties
>If you on the street flash yo titties
>I said if you in the car flash yo titties
>I said if you at the bar flash yo titties
>If you at work flash yo titties
>Even if you at church flash yo titties
what did they mean by this?
So, we can all agree that this is actually the best band ever, right?
maybe
try spamming them more and then I'll consider
i decree today that life is simply taking and not giving
england is mine

many other albums try to be 'trippy' in a superficial sense but this album is the closest to an actual trip that i've found
this album makes me feel like i'm intruding on peoples dreams

In my opinion the most psychedelic hip-hop album I've ever heard.

not even. that's not how cc does tame.
is this that "grimes" person i keep hearing about
>My childlike creativity, purity, and honesty
>Is honestly, being crowded by these grown thoughts
>Reality is catching up with me
>Taking my inner child, I'm fighting for custody
Damn...
The delivery on these lines is impeccable. A lot of times Kanye makes up for shortcomings in the writing with great approach to the execution.

Only good song on this mediocre album
