milo is dope. new album is tight check it out. discuss it /mu/
This album is fantastic. Easily going to be in my Top 5 of the year. Great production and his lyricism is top notch as usual
This is fucking fantastic and so far his best album. It's fucking better than Kendrick and Flower Boy so far so....
He really moved forward from being just Nerd Rap. This thing is really atmospheric, has some fantastic beats on it, and really provides something fresh against a shitton of rap albums coming out that are just trap influenced
why do critics hate cake so much?
>>74501445
They weren't fans of the Chrysler LaBaron
>>74501445
all i know about cake is they did that one song with the monotonous voice going "he's going the distance..... he's going for speed...." i kept hearing as a kid
and if i didn't already hate them for that i'd hate them for album titles like "fashion nugget", "motorcade of generosity" and "showroom of compassion" like wtf is that bullshit
>blatantly steals from the eagles, stevie wonder, and the beatles due to unoriginality
>can't play instruments unless it sounds like a clumsy demo (good guy)
>uses his sexuality as a publicity stunt and works with homophobic odd future
Why do you guys like him again
Confusing sampling with stealing again eh? It happens, turn 18 and you'll be fine

Post favorite late 60's album cover
Are the Lewronggeneration crowd really mistaken about the state of music today and are just butthurt music snobs or are those who criticize Lewronggeneration and claim modern music has never been better in denial about the state of the music industry?
>>74501599
>>74501599
The music industry puts more emphasis on the lowest common denominator now, since more children than ever have disposable income to buy music, and children have trash samey taste
the music industry is relatively new and it has just recently been finding its foothole in industrializing the music charts and appealing to the widest range of people, making shit seem bland as fuck
on the other hand, if you claim that music as a whole is worse now than it once was, you don't listen to enough music
What exactly is it that makes this album so outstanding?
It is so stripped down compared to his previous two albums, yet so potent.
Is it the subtle orchestrations like the French Horn in The Only Thing?
Is it more advanced than we let on?
The secret is that it's just as underwhelming as the rest of his work outside of Illinois.

this but unironically

Suckjam Stevens isn't good.

I was in this prematurely air-conditioned supermarket and there were all these aisles. And there were these bathing caps that you could buy. They were red and yellow and blue. I wasn't tempted to buy one, but I was reminded of the fact that I had been avoiding he beach.

*And they had these kind of Fourth of July plumes, on them.
You better not have an issue with that part of Einstein on the Beach, anon.
>>74501276
Nah it's my favorite part.

I think Theory of Obscurity was a good watch, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes anything about the Residents. I thinks it's cool how they pretty much show you who is/was in the band without really telling you. It would have been nice to see them delve into the story and mythos behind Not Available, even if only because it was originally portrayed as the album which stood as their strongest representation of N. Senada's actual theory of obscurity. (They say that album was originally recorded after their debut and then subsequently shelved for 3 or 4 years before finally being released without the band's permission. I have too many doubts about that story.)
Long Strange Trip. Must watch

What do i need to know to be a better guitar improviser? Any tips?
>>74501112
memorize the pentatonix scale and just play random notes in the scale
>>74501112
Know the scale without having to think about it and just focus on rhythm/feel.
>>74501142
oh hehe
>>74501165
wrong
rhythm is important but you need to hear the next notes you want to play to express an emotion it's not a rote thing it's art
do ear training, learn lots of songs to build up a vocab, theory to whittle down the mind -> sound speedbump
