Im having a hard time getting the 808s to sit in the mix. I have an 808 a bassline and kick. Is there a specific order I should try sidechaining these in?
https://clyp.it/ochmdsan
>>74502597
You're having trouble because they're all fighting for the same space. In the heavier part move the bass line up an octave and let the 808 take over, opposite for the verse
Sidechaining cant fix arrangement problems
Interesting stylistic idea, not meshing all the way yet though. The guitar also needs to be tighter

Downloaded the first piece in the first link. Didn't work. Downloaded the second, worked. Bartok violin concerto no 2. Literally what the fuck is that? Going to listen to the whole piece with earphones. I'm not used to listen to that type of classical music. I've heard some quartets that are like that too.
Why is he considered "great" again?
>>74482783
Because he wrote feel-goody music for aristocrats.

Imagine the smell...
Is that from a James Joyce novel?
Why is EDM so uninspired and artificial sounding while at the same time it's the one genre that can pull such intense feelings out of me
It's like I can't decide if synthesizers are so garbage or so heavenly
>>74520621
Heavenly. Just love it all.
>>74520621
It all comes to tastes. I like some edm, but you can't just blast it out 24/7. I'll usually switch up the stuff, as I'll be playing some dubloadz one moment, and then put some TC and black sun empire on the next. While it is artificial, it's a blast
>>74520779
Same here.
There's a certainly grasp with some EDM that I like, I would listen to maybe a banger like Diplodocus and then go for something for smooth, like Moth from Burial & Four Tet
Nothing destroys listenability like getting hooked on one EDM song to another.
