why are metal fans like this?
>>74553374
Metalfags love to circlejerk about their """""niche""""" genre, because nobody else will
>>74553374
bc metal music and metalhead aesthetics have been broadly socially acceptable for decades now but they still think they're edgy and subversive for listening to anything with a blast beat
>>74553374
Cringe, metal is for 10 years old.
Time for a new one

we're bringing ska back, /mu/.
Ska is trash
if dubs no more ska talk
>>74553285
I am 100% in favor of this. I never actually liked ska during the '90s pop-ska revival, but it was silly and fun and entertaining in a way that nothing else has been since.

Maybe my favorite album from the late 60s era. Time To Get Alone is worth the price of admission alone
>>74534790
It came out in '69
>>74535064
Neat. Do you know what show that was?
>>74535685
There are a few songs that a friend showed me by other bands in the 60s that basically stole melodies from the Beach Boys songs already. One was almost a direct copy of Heroes and Villains, retitled something else w/ different lyrics and there are some others, but idr their names

I always thought Summer Days was pretty well known, maybe a bit overrated imo (some great songs though - girl don't tell me, let him run wild, etc). All Summer Long is really great and worth a listen
>>74553238
Thank you for answering my thing on 20/20.
Does someone know why on a lot of live recordings you can barely hear Al's guitar? I find it very strange, or is it just buried way down in the mix?
yeah all summer long is great too. I found some cool Brian interviews
Anyone know some good dubstep?
Yeah, just hit up South London in 2006

Cool dude
/mu/, listen to the first song (or the whole album) and tell me what you think. It's an incredibly underrated shoegaze/space rock album

I can't into the first half, but I absolutely love the second half.

first track is so much better than the rest of the album it's not even funny
Here's what I like:

Stars
The Very Old Man
Why I Like the Robins
I'd Like Your Hair Long
How did I do?
What does /mu/ think about ghost?

i think it's disappointing that an fun, enjoyable band still fell prey to the eternal meme of fighting over money and credit. i know it shouldn't matter, but the stupid lawsuit situation is basically going to destroy my ability to enjoy future albums.
saw them a couple times live though, and it was really REALLY fucking good each time.
>>74553114
I grew out of metal before I could get into them.
Do you just sit and stare while discovering a new album for instance? You browse mu? What are some good listening activities?
Usually studying/work, or browsing the internet. Sometimes I'll just lie on my bed and listen to a full album, but thats pretty rare
How I normally get into music is just let a playlist/soundcloud account/project etc. While lying half asleep in bed or while playing video games.
More usually the first.
I either play vidya, watch twitch, or browse /mu/ and rym.
is this a modern classic?
No, but it's good as far as meme music goes
No, it's kind of mediocre as far as modern BM goes
No, it's an album of material that sounds and feels like throwaway tracks that weren't good enough to make it onto With Hearts Towards None.
I was following this band while you were still listening to Slipknot. It's the first album they've ever recorded which fails to bring any sort of evolution or development to the table when compared to their previous work.
Imagine getting all your BM from Noisey and Pitchfork lmao.

About to listen to everything on /mu/core chart, including stuff that I already heard. Probably mistake but I wonder if I'll like the stuff I hated a few years ago.

Sorry man haven't heard anything from here but Tribe is nice.

I love foh my man
that gets really annoyed when some people that I hate find out about a band i like. I mean I'm not even patrician but when I see these pathetic people with 100% plebbit taste I just fucking can't. I like something that isn't popular at all, somehow these people find out about that (probably copy it from me) and now they're "big fans". It really makes me puke. Please don't pretend that you're actually not like that, I know you are and if I need to be honest then I'm really proud of being a fucking asshole.
I have diagnosed autism and even I've never seen something that autistic.
If you hate someone why are you keeping tabs on their music taste?
>Find really good band
>Their music gets featured in some trash show/movie/game/trailer a few months later
>when mom stops you at the door and says "you are not leaving the house dressed like that!"
>ywn hang out with Euronymous and check out his collection of krautrock LPs and snuff film videotapes
Why live?
>leaving the house
>i better go change to only underwear and a pocket knife sticking out of my skull

hi there satan
I really need more music and I like melancholy, downtempo music.
Anyone got any ( preferably current) artists that do downtempo music? I know that's vague but I'll give you examples of what im looking for:
Talk Talk
Mark Hollis
James Blake
Bill Evans/Miles Davis
Nicolas Jaar
Baden Powell
Radiohead(sort of)
Nina Simone
Eddie Marcon
Fiona Apple
808s Kanye
Phil Elverum
Nick Drake
Vashti Bunyan
In essence, generally pop music that has frequent soft moments and an emphasis on direct songwriting (often times influenced by black american music). I just have a hard on for that and Im having trouble finding more.
Thanks in advance.
