> Full of disgusting vocal samples.
>Cheesy pads, wind samples and other atmospheric sounds.
>no groove
>Random Gun samples and other "cool" sounding samples that dont fit or flow together at all.
>simple and boring crackling noises to make it feel textured.
How the fuck is this so praised?
I have listened it couple times and i feel like that i just dont get it or it is full of shit. It just drives me mad how much it is trying to be hauntingly atmospheric, textured and meaningful but it just ends up sounding like something cheesy shit that melancholic teenage girls would want to listen after breaking up.
yes it's empty tryhard shit. who cares. move on with your life. pursue what you love.
Reminder dont feed the trolls anons

Here's the thing about Freddie. The man had some serious pipes. He had a 4 octave range and he excelled in any octave. He wrote brilliant songs. And his stage presence was only matched by Adolf Hitler. Seriously, watch them play Radio Gaga at Live Aid and then watch a video of the Nuremburg rallies. We had better thank our lucky stars Freddie didn't go into politics or he would have taken over the world. But Queen as a whole had a brilliant dynamic. It wasn't just the Freddie Mercury backup band. They all made huge creative contributions to what made Queen what it is. Yes, Freddie wrore Somebody to Love, Killer Queen, and Bohemian Rhapsody, but Brian May wrote We Will Rock You, Save Me, and Fat Bottom Girls, John Deacon wrote I Want to Break Free, Another One Bites the Dust, and You're my Best Friend, and Roger Taylor wrote Radio Gaga and It's a Kind of Magic. Other bands like Nirvana for instance were not like that. Nirvana was basically just the Kurt Cobain backup band. Queen was this perfect storm of legendary talent, and Freddie was the face of it all, the delicious cherry on top of an already delicious sundae. He was the ambassador that allowed the amazing talent of combo that was Queen to be brought into our lives. He was the prism that focused the lazer beams from the brains of Roger, Brian, and John, and amplified them until they were powerful enough to blow our minds out through our ear holes. Yes, he was the most incredible front man who ever lived, hands down.

listen for his technical ability on tracks like "rigamortus" or "for free?" Listen for his lyricism on songs like "FEAR." or "untitled 07". listen to TPAB front to back and pay attention to his vocal control - he has an absurd amount of range compared to most other rappers and he uses it in genius ways. listen for the variety of flow patterns, rhyme schemes, etc. he employs because he synthesizes so much of what came before him.
he 100% deserves his mainstream success, the guy is out of this world.
Yo! /mu/! Is Hildegard von Bingen big here?!

Thanks Daniel! My parents never let me listen to anything other than a handful or artists her included and ever since they died recently I've been trying to learn new things. Can you help me break into the music they listen to on /mu/?!
>>74567301
If you want to fit in on /mu/ then you need to get into shitty indie rock. Anything that is obscure, weird (but not too weird) a little complex (but not progressive rock because that's "dad rock"), and recent (made in the 2000's or 2010's). You also need to have a very poor understanding of how music works on a theoretical level and an emotional level. You also need to show signs of autism and say stuff like "wait, you like THAT music? but that's bad! how can anyone like that music! It's bad because it's old/popular/influential". So that's how you fit in on /mu/. Of course, even if you do this people will still insult you for liking music they don't like. Don't worry about them, just listen to anything you get your hands on and see what sticks. If you like classical, I would recommend trying out folk music, 70's prog rock, psychedelic rock, and experimental stuff (there's lots of that, from musique concrete to early electronic (1950's-60's), most of it's weird but it's still good if you're into that). What's important is that you have fun.
Is it still possible to make GOOD and original rock music? Not unlistenable avant teen shit.
Since when was rock ever "original"? It's a couple of guitars playing over a 4/4 beat.
>>74567163
no because you have no talent.
