Album Info:
>What is this?
This is a project that aims to create an album of music from /mlp/. It'll be a compilation, potentially containing everything from originals, remixes, collaborations, etc. The past efforts never came to fruition, so we're trying once again. If you create music, sing, rap, create art, write lyrics, have ideas, or just want to participate, jump right in. Add yourself to the GDoc and/or please email [email protected] who you are, what you do, contact info (May include preferred email, YouTube, etc), and anything else.
>What kind of music is the album going to contain?
Basically anything is acceptable. This means complete originals, remixes, collaborations, soundscapes, etc.
>How do I submit my music/art?
Please submit a mastered/unmastered WAV or AIFF. Please upload it to a site that doesn’t compress the audio file (Like Dropbox and Mediafire. NOT Vocaroo), and then share the download link. You can also upload to OneDrive (https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=C6319434888276ED%21105. To upload, post your email in the thread or email [email protected], and we'll add you). If you don’t post in the thread, please email [email protected] so we know for sure you’re submitting something.
>What about artwork?
Yes, we can always use artists. Artwork may be needed for the album cover. individual songs, and anything else we come up with. Final versions of artwork will be submitted like music (see above).
>I HAVE MOAR QUESTIONS
If you still have questions, read the Google doc above, email [email protected], or ask in the thread.

>mud pone punk song
Anoridan, ElectroCelloFag, and some others had an idea of making a rough punk song about Mud Ponies uprising.
There is a drum track, anyone can try to slap some lyrics/guitar on it. There should be a place for distorted cello!

UPDATES PART 2:
ATTENTION! COLLABORATIONS! PLEASE CONTRIBUTE!
>Plays2
http://1drv.ms/1NJ1gwH
Engie said that he'll re-record these 4 lines there is today with better quality, SG should collaborate with him on the last chorus though.
Since all brass anons who said that thy'll deliver something never delivered anything, i'm gonna pay a few bucks to the saxophonist i know and will record it myself. I hope if everything goes as planned this song will be finished in a month.
>Still Going
http://1drv.ms/1NJ1HqC
Structure complete. That last heavy part should contain a solo on synth or guitar in it. Feel free to comment on basic structure, any ideas are welcome. Contributions welcome! Let's collaborate!
>Streets
Synthfag uploaded the audio files/MIDI. TwiFi wants to work on this. Will need contributions.
>Porn music
Some anon posted this voice, and then sexy music happened. Could use some brass and possibly sexy moaning as well.

>Jump cover
Alrighty guys. I've got a new project in the works for this that I think we can have some fun with. I took to time to put together an instrumental cover of Van Halen's "Jump" and me and Sound guy re-wrote the lyrics. We've changed the "Jump" to "Bump" and all we need is some really simple submissions. We just need random anons for the "Bump!" shout similar to how "Jump!" is yelled in the original Van Halen tune. Tutorial to make it stupid proof: https://clyp.it/vktz2jql
• We need anons to submit somewhat high quality vocal clips of them yelling "BUMP"
• These submissions should be done through the onedrive in this folder. Please submit your files as WAV if possible!
http://1drv.ms/1QPCn8V
• If any anons would be comfortable doing the main vocal part please let us know
• We need as many submissions as we can get. Your voice counts. Yes you. The one faggot fapping to worst pony.

Working on lyrics. Accepting mixing advice/opinions.
does anybody need vocals? I've already provided some for "I love the whole board". It's under the "I can't believe I'm doing this" folder
I hope it's not too late to suggest that the song for Lauren Faust be something that she herself might like to listen to.

Should we finish it for the album?
>>26389601
He also wrote lyrics for a cover of "Art of the Dress" that makes it more of a love song.
Lyrics that I remember:
"Thread by thread, stitching it together
Piece by piece, I'm picking up my broken heart
Yard by yard, I feel I'm getting closer
Oh, be my girl, we'll never be apart."
>>26389286
Yes we need. But we also need lyrics for some things.
As for Song for Mom, for example.

Cheesy love song:
SG, FolkFag, and Reesh (working on vocals) are working on this. Still needs lyrics for verses and bridge, assuming the lyrics below are for the chorus.
Newest music: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5es01qkc4li2kw9/Cheesy%20love%20song%20for%20X%20Structure.mp3?dl=0
Revised lyrics:
"Love you girl. I give you all my time.
When I kiss you babe, it clears my mind
I’d walk a thousand eight hundred, and ninety one miles, just see your smile
When you walk in, the room shines bright, when I see you babe everything’s alright
All I need's a touch from you, to give me the peace of mind I so desire
I’d be lost without ya don’tcha know, I’ll be singing this song til the end of time.
Oh babe you found me buried by my doubts, and ya said you better not catch me standing around.
Stay close to the ground, don’t you too fly high, you’ll get lost in clouds staring out towards the sky.”
TRRmetal thingy me and my partner made that needs lyrics and singer (although Engie said that he's back and he's gonna provide both):

Gonna try and post a final composition version of Boom De Yada tonight.
>>26398163
oh yeah?
As far as charity goes, I think a good gesture would be to donate some earnings to Lauren Faust's charity of choice.
For distribution, we could totally go the bandcamp route. But ALSO, it'd be really cool if we can make physical CD's with an actual cover and sleeve and all that sexy stuff and distribute them at cons. They can be made available at the various /mlp/ parties that happen at the conventions; I know there will be one at Babscon this April.
I think all the album copies - digital and physical - should be free for everyone, but people should have the option to pay for the albums for charity.
>>26390936
Ken does not want to finish the song. I'll try to start something on it by myself so the rest of you busy guys don't get slowed down by yet another song, and I'll post any progress I make if it's worth sharing haha. It probably wont go anywhere, but hey, I'll try.
(Is tired from dancing)
Oh god... pants4x Whew!
>>26399676
That's what pay what you want on bandcamp means, you can download for zero or whatever amount you want.
Also nothing stopping people from uploading it to file sharing sites.
And if someone wanted to do physical CDs, that'd be fine, make sure if you're not handing them out for free, some of the money goes to charity since it was a team effort, but you could keep what it cost to make the CDs to break even.
As for lauren faust I have no fucking clue what she has to do with the album, but you can donate to her favorite charity and download the album for free.
>>26399941
I think Lauren Faust has everything to do with the album because she created the reason why we're all here. I'm not suggesting Autism Speaks is a bad choice for charity, just that I feel that Faust deserves more recognition and we have a chance to do something for her after all she's given us.
Pinkie Pie is glad to see everyone working hard on the album and she can't wait to hear it and share it with everyone in Ponyville.
>>26399987
This actually works because, if we go ahead with physical distribution of CD's at cons, we have a chance to put a copy in the hands of Lauren Faust herself, as she will be at Babscon in April!
>>26400043
Man, you do know that album releases at 11th of July 2016?
April is before July, not after. We could make a pre-release CD pay-what-you want sells at bronycon, though, if any one of us will be there. But that would mean that we need to be fully ready to release, like, a month before actual release date.
>>26400919

HO-KAY PPL OF /MLP/ WE NEED YOUR OPINIONS AND POTENTIALLY HELP
There is an idea of making a physical fucking copy of our hard as my dick work and distribute these CD's on Bronycon (July 8–10, right before release), and my idea is like that: finish our work fast enough, make 100 physical copies with art on covers and CD's, that with shipping to USA via FedEx will cost us something like 140$ (i think it's less than what it'll cost if we'd make them in USA, but i may be wrong, prove me if i am), and we still need some kind of vendor who will distribute them. We'll sell them for 1,5$ or more, where all money over these 1,5$ will go to charity ("autism speaks" is our charity of choice right now).
How's that idea to you all and would you be able to chip in (In hope that sales will cover your expences back)?Sunbutt is here for support of royal treasury
>>26404350
General Mumble, is incredibly experienced in making physical album CD's. If anyone needs advice on making them or perhaps reducing the cost of making them, I think we should send him a message.
>>26405062
Idk who he is. Tell us about him and how to contact him, if you don'tmind.
Aaaaand we need an artist for a cover. Turns out that Kitty wouldn't be able to draw it for us.

Examples of his work:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o23LklOu0l8
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iK7pzVlIlOg
I'm actually not sure if he actually makes these himself or not. It's possible that he's using a service to make these for him. We can ask him about that since he's made many CD's for several of his albums, so he definitely has this stuff figured out. But he does design these himself - all the graphic design and layout and everything. He's really good at that.
I want to mention that getting physical CD packages made would be fucking awesome and legitimate as hell, but if it ends up being a bit pricey and if nobody would be willing pay for it then it might be best to not go through with it. We don't want anybody to actually lose money over this thing that's supposed to be a fun project, do we?
But if we CAN do this, and cheaply, then I don't see any reason why we shouldn't go ahead and do it. It would be really cool.
>>26406205
We are surely going to try, but we've really got to get ourplotsbutts in gear. The songs need to be finished, the trailer needs to be made, the album art needs to be made, and the CDs have logistics to deal with (manufacturing, shipping, etc). There's a lot to with relatively little time left.
I believe we can do it.

Right now i calculated amount of roughly 140$ for making 100 CD's with print on CD's and with color art on cover and shipping them to USA from Russia. Picrelated is how much american company asks for the same, mor or less. Russian way wins. Hard. But y'all feel free to find a cheaper company in USA, that'd be nice.

As far as I'm aware (and I'm looking into this again especially since I will be going to Bronycon 2016), you don't have to have a vendor badge to give away stuff for free.
Despite this being a charity album, accepting donations or doing pay-what-you-want are much more in the grey zone so I will definitely look into this.
In addition, I'm sure we can get some of the guys who will be musicians for Bronypalooza to offer the album at their table in the vendor hall.
Also on top of this, I know with 100% certainty that there will be the /mlp/ and horse news room parties. Distributing at those parties is definitely open there because it's way out of the con space.
Hello! Update!
Sorry for being MIA for a few days there, my computer died with all my recording shit. I have all my files saved so I haven't lost anything, just my means to record.
