>>26108952 Won't lie, I've been hearing this since feb 2012. I'm starting to think it has to do with the fact that our 4chan personas aren't able to keep up with the fast changes that internet forces fandom into.
With time, things die and change, anon. It's why I chuckle sadly when I see others clinging to the past by greening out the meme response of >being this new I understand why. Old 4chanbin general had some of the most memorable experiences, and those fortunate enough to be a part of that want to retain their cultural identity, such as it may be on an anonymous imageboard, in the hopes of creating new memories in the same vein (alternatively, they may just be yearning for better days, but the end result is still the same). >inb4 misused chronological snobbery meme pic
>There once was a ball >It was a small ball, opaque, somewhat dirty and not perfectly round >Still, many people liked it and kept considering it 'their ball' >One day, new people started like the ball >They weren't exactly like the previous ones, tho. They were kinda different. >So it happened that one of them decided to draw a smiley face on the ball. >Some people liked it, some others didn't. But it was just a smiley, after all >then somebody else addedd hair >Another guy decided the smiley face was awful and drew a frown on the opposite side of the ball. >In time, the new people kept adding and removing features to the ball, even conflicting ones >The old fans were certainly not pleased >Where had their imperfect yet beautiful ball gone? >So they decided to hold a press conference, to state their disproval >One by one they declared their hate for the new ball, and how "our old ball was better" >Then one fan jumped on stage >He was looking old and grumpy >The fans religiously waited for him to talk. They wondered what wise words he could have been able to say >Then, the old man picked up the mic, had a little cough and said >"Will you shut up, you kids? They ruined your precious ball, so what? It wasn't even a ball to begin with! It was a cube before you newbs came about!"
>>26108952 Hi I'm relatively new here. I just wanted to say that I really don,t give a fuck about your stupid cry babying. But if it makes you feel better then you can pretend I care. It's the least I can do considering I'm the worst kind of terminal Canceraids.
>>26108998 I am perfectly fine accepting that the old is dead, but the problem is that this board is based around mlp. Not immaterial aspects of human life, like /pol/ or /fit. We will get deleted one day, when no one gives a fuck anymore, and less and less people are giving less of a fuck each day. That is why the new is hated, because it reminds the old that they are dying, and in our case we have no leniage to keep us going. /mlp/ has no future.
>>26109164 Perhaps, when our board disappears, we can also get rid of GR15. then those among us that got on this ride will still be able to throw a passing reference to one another, as a sign of those who chose to stay outside of the brony fandom, yet still came to love the show. Or maybe, as another Anon once said, all that will be left of us will be sporadic iwtcird threads appearing on the likes of /b/ and /trash/. Or who knows, maybe we'll find our place on /trash/, as a vague reminiscence of what was, but with porn. >tfw /trash/ represents freedom better than any part of 4chan to date. If we do die, though, I hope we burn out, instead of just fading.
I don't even know anymore. Maybe all the quality posters got bored and left, maybe we've caught the attention of a bunch of YouTube kids, or maybe I've just outgrown this shithole. I just know this place hasn't been fun in months.
>>26109135 But I don't offer any defense. Every single one of these threads, I admit that I'm a newfag, explain that I started watching the show a few months back and was already a 4chan user for years before that, and then move on to other, better threads.
I got to this board about 1 year ago. I see all these threads from past years of what seemed like a alive /mlp/. But I never see any content near as good when this board started. It feels like this board continually going downwards.
And when this board does close do we really just move on and just keep this place as a memory.
>>26109164 >>26109255 >/mlp/ will get deleted Why do people keep doompauling this shit? Look at the other 50 boards of 4chan that have less activity than /mlp/. They never get deleted. GR15 just seals the deal that pony content must stay here even more.
