>>26064920 >It's not dead until we say it is You seriously fell for that? There's been nothing shown more than a few models and a single shot of a mall and a restaurant. It's a shitty excuse to keep people waiting without actually having to provide anything. If LSA never made that statement, he would have lost his relevance a long time ago. Telling people that they should assume the game is being worked on, without proof, unless stated otherwise was idiotic at best, and disingenuous at worst.
The project was decided in ... late 2013? It was a bit after the scruffening right? In the next following months, we had a few threads, mostly to talk about body style, LSA doing a few backgrounds, then we had 3 character reveals threads separated by a few months, with a quickly made demo in the middle.
And after that, nothing. Nothing in over a year. Of course there's a rush of creativity at the start and then it goes more steady but you'd expect at least SOME bits of info in between, it's not like Hasbro stalk this board and they have much to fear posting news here.
>All these faggots complaining about the lack of updates >"It must be kill." Yeah, because keeping the public in the loop worked out so well for Fighting is Magic. LSA or a team member would announce an official kill on the project. Haven't seen a new update for Starswirl Academy either, guess it's kill as well.
>>26071666 >Yeah, because keeping the public in the loop worked out so well for Fighting is Magic There's an everfree outpost thread every week. Also, FiM had their own website and were trying to raise money. Of course they're going to get taken down.
>>26071764 >We have more to show you, but we don't want to reveal everything! I remember when he said this. Either he doesn't have anything to show, the game is so insubstantial that anything he does show will ruin it.
>>26071788 It's not my place to be showing any new assets. I'm not in charge of that. Most relevant discussion that I could show you is directly related to artwork, story, etc, or shit like estimated release time. Obviously I can't just leak all of that shit.
Maybe if this thread is alive long enough for Smut to notice it, he might post with his trip on or show some non-important art asset or something as proof. I dunno.
>>26071806 Please have him do so. My problem isn't whether or not it's still being worked on. My issue is that it's a dick move to constantly tell people you're working on a project, provide almost no updates whatsoever, never communicate as to what's going on, or what's being worked on at the moment, or any hangups that have occurred, then act surprised when people assume the project's dead and all they're supposed to go on is your word. No, he doesn't have to reveal a screenshot every time a new scene is written, but a simple "we got our first character arc done" would be sufficient.
I could be wrong, but from my perspective, it seems like this project is completely disorganized and they have nothing to show for it, or Smutty is just doing the bare minimum to keep all eyes on him, and remind everyone else that yes, he is still a thing. Because unless you have a track record of making games, you don't get the same benefit of the doubt when you keep tight-lipped.
>>26071862 >>26071867 Well, I mean, it was never established that you guys would be entitled to those kinds of frequent updates. When Smutty does do updates, it's because he's decided to. I don't really see how it's a dick move to not do something that was never promised in the first place.
>>26071904 I know. We're not surprised people think it's dead. I just saw it being discussed while lurking, and decided to pop in and offer one of our usual 'it's still being worked on' speeches, to spark conversation or some shit.
>>26071924 It's not too much, no. Hell, I wish we updated more too. The only one who is really an 'official' voice between us and you guys is Smut, and he just, you know, hasn't posted an update in a while. Nobody's asked him to. We haven't discussed it. It's never really been a priority.
If he doesn't read this thread for himself, I can remind him that people want updates. He'd probably agree.
>>26071921 >I just saw it being discussed while lurking, and decided to pop in and offer one of our usual 'it's still being worked on' speeches, to spark conversation or some shit. Discuss what? The mall shot that were shown to us six months ago? Saying "it's still being worked on" without providing anything at all leads to this same roundabout discussion that happens in every thread. You guys really need to work on your PR
>>26071943 We're not pretending to be professional. We've never had strict deadlines or much management. This project has always been a 'real life first, VN when you're free' type deal for everyone involved. I'm sorry if you guys are all expecting more than that, but it's how we operate.
>>26071966 Nobody's expecting the project to be done in a timely manner, or rapid progress. What most people want is just better communication. No one faults you for prioritizing your real lives first. But will it kill you to drop in once a month or two and make an update?
>>26071966 >We're literally doing it for free. This, a thousand times this. The project is being worked on as a hobby more so than a commitment; we do it because we think it's fun - and that's the extend of it.
>>26072000 Aww, I guess archived threads don't crosslink across boards well. Here is the first, lewder image, excuse the no hooves >>26071966 Thanks for all the work put in so far (but updates on progress are welcome, hard to deny something is dead when there is nothing new to show for it)
>>26071999 >>26072003 My point was that you shouldn't assume professionalism AT ALL. 90% of the few update threads we have done have likely just been the result of Smut randomly thinking 'huh, we haven't done an update in a while', coupled with a light conversation with whomever else is online in the Skype chat to confirm that updating is a good idea, and some convenient art asset or whatever to post along with it. It's not like we ever scheduled them.
>>26072013 The reason it doesn't crosslink isn't because it's archived, it's because you can't crosslink /co/ or /b/, and maybe /v/ too, I forget, threads on /mlp/ because the mods are too afraid that we'll raid them.
>tfw we're so hardcore that the mods are still afraid that we'll raid /b/ >tfw mods are afraid that we'll raid /b/ >tfw mods are afraid that /b/ will be raided
