NEW TEASER IMAGE
MAUD'S BACK IN TOWN.
>that city in the background
We are still in equestria?
This is a bad sign, probably they don't care anymore and they will just add generics cities and towns like pic related
only the first two seasons and the pics of the S2 like pic related.
This is the real Manehattan by Lauren Faust
Fucking hasbro, don't ruin our show with those shitty toys
I saw that too, what the heck mark is that?
I don't know, maybe you need to check the fucking box again
Ah yes the same fucking image, only now even harder to make out words. Why the fuck do theu say nigger?
It confirms Hasbro has already paid for the next two years.
As for what we know about S6 beside this image:
Confirmed writers: Mike Vogel
2 Discord episodes
Daring Do returns
Possibly Felicia Day guest-starring
Cadence's foal born?
Did I miss something?
You missed FlutterCord getting canon. It was confirmed by Meghan McCarthy
> in american cartoon
> on american TV
And don't even start with that Canadian bullshit, we all know it can't happen because it would be depraving for the younger audience.
Yes, same as the dragons it's something they confirmed way back. Part of the reason this hiatus might bea lot shorter than expected is them using scripts that were already done a year or longer ago.
Twoparters still count as two episodes. Only thing he mentioned was there being two scripts.
You must not frequent /v/ or /tv/ or you'd know about her.
Considering the idea was only put forward in November I doubt it'll still be for S6, more likely S7.
>believing her lies
Will you niggas consult the chart you fucking skimmed. It says they've already given the finacial go ahead to telivision AND movies. So unless FIM is getting scrapped for an EQG series, it'll be more of the same.
She's already had 2 episodes, stop being so greedy anon
Or Spike/Shining Armor. In hindsight, would have been better than what we got.
Anyway, I think S6's hiatus is so short because a lot of the stuff was already intended for an earlier season and pushed back. That being said I hope they did some editing based on the reaction to S5.
Ratings were low cause of Discovery's shit tier advertisement. People had the tendency of forgetting episodes were happening cause Discovery never actually advertised them.
Remember when they advertised the season opener every week after it had aired for like 2 months? They're the ones fucking themselves over.
More Discord episodes? really? do we actually want more of that fukwit?
Senset Shimmer returns kinda hinted in the deleted scenes of the Friendship Games.
Not permanent, but for a single episode for sure. Maybe even a finale, would be epic enough to see Twi, Sun, Starlight and Trixie as a "Magical Quartet" VS the Final Boss.
Ratings were low because Discovery Family is a shit-tier channel that no one fucking watches. There's no point in advertising something on a channel that no gives a fuck about. MLP is still the highest rated show on the network.
All I want is my Raripie episode and I'll be satisfied. That's not too much to ask for, is it?
The ratings will be going down and Hasbro is still losing money on girl sales.

I don't recall Mike Vogel. What episodes did he write previously?
Not talking about that. Last year the IDW comics introduced Dragon Town, and they received instructions on how it should visually look because of a future episode.
I guess they're locked into some contract with Discovery, else they would've probably moved MLP:FiM to CN or Disney.
He didn't. He was the VP of development for Hasbro Studios, handling MLP as well as LPS and Transformers, but has stepped down from that and became co-executive producer for the MLP 2017 movie and writer for S6.
All I can say is that I hope they handle it better than the comics did. Also I hope they don't just put it in Fillydelphia because there is a great extended universe anecdote about batponies living with dragons.
Honestly I think Curnow was very confused and didn't know how to answer questions because no one straight up asked him "Is this a location we're going to see in future seasons of the show" but instead asked confusing roundabout shit.
It's also possible that they got visual guidance because there's going to be an episode set in Fillydelphia vs. more dragons.
After all, this season's toy theme is "Exploring Equestria". Given that, I figure we're going to see much more time spent outside of Ponyville.
>Hasbro is still losing money on girl sales
Not for long since they took over Disney Princess merchandising from Mattel.
That Anon was saying maybe it wasn't an episode with Dragon Town, but just set in Fillydelphia. Curnow mentioned how they supposedly got direction for Dragon Town so there's speculation.
Then again, IDW apparently gets "direction" about how to do/put in things that would never be in the show, like televisions.
>no AKR because disney
>Probably only 1 Larson chapter because he is working in his book
>No meghan because her new job and working in the MLP movie
>Ingram will put more effort in the next EQG movie than the show or even the MLP movie
>Josh Haber is the new story editor
>A lot of shit tier writers and newfag writers
Welp, i will skip this season like i did with the S3 (i read the wikia for the lore)
>all this doomasaying
>skipping a whole season because of other people's opinions
Jesus fucking Christ anon, that is some pleb tier shit right there.
riddle me this, batman
Well, if they manage to fix the Charlie Foxtrot that was MLP Friends Forever #14, all power to them.
Not sure how you could do that unless the story line is something like dragon refugees fleeing their homeland and settling in Fillydelphia. That's about the only way I could see how an entire dragon neighborhood somehow exists in an Equestrian city when ponies (up until now) knew next to nothing about them.
Sibsy also left but S6 will contain the last of her episodes.
I am worried about Dusedau messing more characters after Spike and Discord.
What if hes going to do Rainbow Dash, next?
As much as I dislike her, Trixie is quite a cute horse
They need to fix mina, she is cute but the whole SJW and shipfag shit ruin it
Again, the way that it works in one of the Berrow books is that there is indeed a small group of (bat)ponies that live with dragons. In caves, near where the Hooffields and McColts are. I think if they were to make a new location or make it a recent thing it would have been better.
Take out the dumb OC too.
Those books are canon? i find this pic in derpibooru about the books
After Lauren left, he completely lost his passion for ponies. Not only he never reference any episode from S3-S4 in his scripts but he always mention how he only join MLP to work with Faust. He is her fanboy and he strarted to work on his books after she left. He doesn't look forward to stay with Hasbro for long. For now is just an additional paycheck for him and a way for him to promote his books.
You won't see any of the actual OC from the comic show up in there. The show's only nods to the comic were putting in some of the staff's pony-avatars as cameos. So no, no Mina and probably no dragon ghetto either. That'd be as good as validating the comic, and Hasbro's not having that happen.
Curnow is just clueless as fuck and thought he knew how the show worked when they didn't actually tell him anything. He got confused because he wasn't asked direct questions.
Berrow is a writer for FiM and she write her books based on the already approved scripts.
However i remember Meghan along with Berrow at the convention before S5 started stating that both comics and books are separate from show canon.
>taking a lesbian shipping as a legit premise for an episode
I never had the chance to be hyped, experience and then discuss a new Trixie episode
I just want one, I dont care if it's shit
>writers stuck writing children's books for the rest of their lives shouldn't be given the power to set canon of something so important
>something as important as a book for kids based on a cartoon for kids
They gave her interesting mature premise
"CADANCE IS PREGGO"
Yet she proved that she completely doesn't understand how to write comedy. Entire episode was basically 1 joke being repeated over and over again.
I read 2 of her books. One about Celestia and one about Discord. She suck at comedy, and she only fill out her stories with boring bland stuff to somehow reach the 150 page limit.
>After Lauren left, he completely lost his passion for ponies. Not only did he never reference any episode from S3-S4 in his scripts, but he always mentions how he only joined MLP to work with Faust. he's right, you know
no im not him

There is a fallacy here
That once a show is great, it will never become un-great
This is a terrible mindset and led to 2 of the most disappointing seasons in the history of television
But season 5 came, and it was great.
But you would not see this, because the show had already reached that goal, and could never become anything less
So to you, nothing has changed
Not a single variable in the quality of 5 seasons worth of material
Because you are blind, a hasdrone.

I remember when everyone lost their shit over Cutie Mark Magic, which never happened. If the main characters and the rest of them are already toys, you can deal with a fucking swan boat in the show.
>This is a terrible mindset and led to 2 of the most disappointing seasons in the history of television
>This is a terrible mindset and led to 2 of the most disappointing seasons in the history of television
That is a gross exaggeration. There are much shittier shows around with much shittier seasons.
Are we sure that this isn't just some forgotten cover art like this one made for Season 3 and only released in germany?
Just look at Dash, she look edited as fuck.
King Sombra and Queen Celestia would make a cute couple. I mean, originally Celestia was suppose ot be a Queen of Equestria, so Sombra having that title would imply that he was related to her.
A typical attention-hungry feminist gamurgurl. As long as they don't let her touch the script it should be fine though.
>implying whoever run this page has any idea of what he's doing
OP's picture look a much legit as that picture that WAS ALSO pisted on official MLP page
Especially Dash and Maud look pasted as fuck.
>But season 5 came, and it was great
>it was great
Not if you still have any taste. Some episodes were great. The season as a whole was underwhelming after what I was expecting from the premiere.
3 mares on a sawn ride for 20 minutes, what could go wrong?
Sound like a bland filler episode. Similar to the one with Coco Pommel and Applejack in S5.
But Dash/Maud/Pinkie dynamic might be more interesting.than the one we got in Gryphon Stone.
I'd say it was a great season- Probably the best in the series. The only episodes that were remotely close to being bad were Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep? and Princess Spike, and even they were OK episodes.
Plus, if you want to go deeper, S5 was also thematically consistent, with pretty much every episode being about how small decisions can have huge knock-on effects. I haven't seen the show stick to an overarching theme in that way since Season 1.
>S6 in spring is not only a possibility, but is now likely
De Lancie mentioned that ponies return after a year. And he tweeted it in September.
Spike hate is the worst meme this fandom ever created because it actually makes people incapable of seeing good episodes or moments with him.
It's not even joking anymore. There are some waifufags I know of that get genuinely mad when he's even in a scene standing next to a character, or if he has a single line. It's hilarious, especially when people rank Simple Ways so low because Spike subverted their expectations of what he would do.
No, he mentioned a twoparter with Discord would air in a year.
That would be the finale if premiere is in spring, so it adds up.
It'd be extremely weird for them to post stills from fully developed episodes 10 months before the season premieres.
Season 5 was great. Fuck anyone who says it's shit just because it's the popular thing to do. "What about Discord?" was badly executed, but it's not un-rewatchable. And at least "Princess Spike" gave us that qt of a Minnesota pone.
The only one I really hated was "Brotherhooves" social. Big Mac tore everyone's shit up and deserved the win. Fucking ideologues.
I don't mind Rarity nagging him, but Spike really is a shitty character with shit development. My only reaon why i woudn't want Rarity to date him beside the adult/kid stuff is that he doesn't really deserve her in any way. He's just an annoying kid who is only less annoying when Twilight is acting stupid.
Rarity should marry either a Prince or someone famous. But not any douche like Blublood or Trenderhoof.
You're acting as if boat rides couldn't be... exciting.
Fuck, it always bothers me when we learn important stuff about characters so insanely late.
Discord doesn't need those slogans. Everybody already love him. And Neal Dusedau will die in S6.
Nothing about the ending was meant to shock anyone. Stop misusing buzzwords, brony. The music in the episode was fucking top-notch. Ingram knocked it out of the park with that battle music. The plot and the threat of the Tantibus was much more fitting to the setting of FiM than just about any other antagonist you may care to name. AND the episode managed to be a better background pony episode than E100, although I admit that that isn't a very high bar to beat.
It's like you WANT Luna to have no flaws.
Spike is a great character who has a lot of development based on his own internal conflict and has the potential for a fuckload of stories beyond Equestria.
The only shitty parts of S5 were What About Discord? and Princess Spike.
For a board that seems to hate FIW so much they really love to perpetrate their worst meme. Spike's a fucking child. No shit he's a little brat. Were you ever a child? It's just like that.
>every character in canon already know Dash is lesbo
>they trying to hook her up with somoene every season
>they failed with Gilda, Lightning Dust, Spitfire and AppleJack
>Maud is next
There is literaly nothing interesting in Manehattan
>Rarity takes Manehattan
>Made in Manehattan
even more boring
Not to even mention Trixie and Spike comic.
My only hope is that they will waste their worst writer to take this episode, so he woudn't fuck up any episode about Dragon kingdom with Spike or Badlands with Scorpan.
I can't understand how you watched the same episode I did and came to that conclusion.
Luna tried to destroy the world. Disregard the historical revisionism of the season finale and think back to the S1 days, right after the pilot ended. Her reign would have basically killed fucking everything and "ushered in an era of darkness and evil". She had good reason to feel as guilty as she did.
She didn't take the best approach in dealing with that guilt, true, but if she had, there would have been no conflict and no episode. Guilt fucks people up. Trust me on this; I myself have a lot of shit to feel guilty about. I understand how she felt perfectly.
I hate most kids characters in cartoons
Especially when they are annoying lik Johhny Test, Timmy Turner or Teet Titans Go.
Spike belong to this category.
He need to be written either in charming way like Steven Universe or in a clever/funny way like Ed,Edd and Eddy.
I can guarantee you that if he was written like Steven then he would be shipped with anyone just like Steven is with every female character, becasue he is the most likeable character in the series.
Gee, like that never happens in this show.
Should have used this one more than one shot.
Let's be honest, not everybody is an only child and they were too short sighted and/or lazy to introduce family members in season 1 so no matter how new family members come in at this point it is always going to look shoehorned. There have been fanons suggesting that every other pony is an orphan ad nausea since season 1.
To be fair, we always knew Pinkie had a family and siblings somewhere.
But Shining Armor came out of fucking nowhere, and then Twilight also babbled about how they had always been BBBFFs and whatnot.
Here's your reply, brony. I don't know why I expected an intelligent response.
If it's with Discord then i bet on older asshole brother (brother of Eddy from Ed,Edd,Eddy)
If it's about solo Fluttershy, then a pussyboi brother is more likely as the message is probably about responsibility for your sibling and all that shit.
There is one dedicated poster with autism similar to Barneyfag who write about Discord being Dead in S6 and Fluttershy getting married with Biig Mac whenever Discord or Fluttercord is mentioned.
He also say thing like Meghan McCarthy is racist and stuff. Is better ot ignore these posts.
It's unreasonable to expect a child to be some perfect idea of what a person should be. If the show isn't centered around their age group then they're gonna be little shits. Just like real life.
People at /co/ are fighting over WHO should Steven be with and that include waifufags.
People on /mlp/ discuss WHEN Spike should die and get ot be writen of the show.
This is a difference between Steven and Spike
Amending Fences was "Twilight is right about everything now that she's a princess": the episode.
Hell, they even had her little daydream freakout, the thing that is usually used as a comedic device, be perfectly accurate.
Fuck Amending Fences. Even Moondancer's sexy ass can't make me like that episode. She should have taken that bat and beaten the candy out of Twilight.
nah, pinkie is a worse case because we saw her family and it just so happens one sibling was missing
the only difference that puts maud on top is that her personality and interactions with pinkie were entretaining and relatively unique while shining is a boring dudebro that only very recently is starting to gain personality
Because big cities are a typical setting in most cartoons. The hack writers can't invent any other fantastic original place. Their only attempt was Rainbow Falls but even that felt flat.
Lauren Faust and Bob Renzetti were the only one who created something original. All of their creativity is gone.
I love "Amending Fences", but I actually kind of agree with you. Or rather I think it's been this way for a while now. "What about Discord?" is the most obvious example. At least Discord was adult enough to get the joke in the end.
It was an episode that was a reference to E01 SEASON fucking 1.
Larson live in the past and doesn't want to move beyond era of Lauren. For him, Discord is still in stone and CMC are still without their cutie marks.
People just hate most of his episodes, me included. He has gotten a bad rep when he mains an episode. The hate he gets when he's his normal sidekick self is just autism. I like when he's paired with another more aduilt character to go off of.
I don't know if they're the same but yeah there is one persitant faggot with a hatebonner on him.
I have no idea but I just want my cyberpunk ponies.
>implying they don't have a large number of different locations left to explore
It would be better if their toys weren't so shit. It's really sad when China can make a more accurate pony doll.
And they could still go even further
>Executive Producer of Disney's DuckTales on Disney XD in Fall 2017.
Wait, really? Fuck, I didn't know how much I wanted this.
Fucking badlands, why are they ignoring it?
Is a possible place to explore
>Spike(if he was found by Scorpan when he was an egg)
and so on
Yes, because it would be so much better to introduce every character in the first few episodes. That would not be utterly useless and not a hindrance to the plot at all.
Of course, there could have been offhand references, like Pinkies sisters. You're not entirely wrong, but it's also simply not practical to plan so far ahead in a show when you don't even know whether you'll get more than one season. If Faust had spent lots of time fleshing out the family trees of every character, that would have given more depth to the setting, but it would also have taken time away from the important parts like writing good episode prompts and fleshing out the parts of the show that would be relevant in S1.
Finally, some people simply aren't that talkative about their family, or the topic just doesn't come up. That's actually pretty realistic in my opinion, especially since we don't see every moment of the ponies' lives.
>found by Scorpan when he was an egg
I-it actually works
the truth is, it never ends, Anon.
Hiatuses, new hype, new hopes, ponies have took over your life, and you know you need them, and they know it.
What, do you think you could leave like this? You think it's a fucking game, Anon?
>pregnancy is ok
>war, war preparations and battlefields are ok
>DBZ fight with lasers are ok
>development or backstory of any character is just too manly
>Amending Fences and What about Discord?, two episodes that (finally again) show Twilight having flaws and dealing with them, are "Twilight is right about everything now that she's a princess"-episodes
What is wrong with you people?
>showing Twilight having flaws
nigger u wot? The episode went: Hey, I USED to be a bad friend. Now, I'm NOT a bad friend anymore and my imagination tells me exactly what went wrong in the past! Let's go get my new friend to solve my problem for me!
It could work like this
>Dragons migrate to Dragon Lands
>Spike as an egg was lost in the Badlands
>Found by Scorpan and kept safe from monsters
>at Celestias birthday, it was granted to her as a sign of their friendship and alliance after Tirek incident
>Scorpan tell Celestia that only a powerfull source of magic may ressurect this dragon
>Celestia used it as a test to find a chosen one in her academy with the talent to wield the most powerfull of magic
>Starswil told her that only a power of frinedship can develop it further
>She sent her on a journey in E01E01
If it wasnt for the toys the show wouldnt exist. Period.
You think Hasbro want to make a show for one of their IPs because they want to give us a compelling story? No. The writers, directors and producers may want this but Hasbro - their bosses just want to sell toys to make money. And thats ok.
Its a symbiotic relationship, the toys wouldn't exist without the show and the show wouldn't exist without the toys.
Does anybody do that?
Well, she's still a "bad friend" at the beginning of the episode, but when she realizes that, she wants to make amends to show that she knows better. It may not be an episode wherein she is confronted with that flaw, but it still highlights a past flaw and how Twilight deals with it's consequences. And it's not like she's always right in the episode, like with the part where her old friends don't actually care as much as she expected and the parts where her trying to befriend Moondancer don't immediately work out, either. Yes, she comes to a realization of her own when she thinks about the past, but that doesn't have to be bad. She has always been smart and a quick learner, it makes sense that with the information she gathered in the episode she would be able to understand what happened to Moondancer. I think it would be more stupid if she didn't understand that.
>Without Spike's letter power, Twilight wouldn't have been able to figure out how to Stop Discord
>Without Spike, Sombra would still be running around
Starswirl and Scorpan, they planned all of it from the beginning
Celestia is friends with all kind of Princes and rulers: Deers, Saddle Arabians, Gryphons, Yaks, Zebras etc.
Just because she's isn't seen with one doesn't mean that she only think about Discord's D all the time like some shippers expect her to.
Already happen in the comic without the santa shit
Nah, the script can't be planned ahead further than since S3. Lauren plans were already rejected so now Meghan may only try to make her episodes look like they were planned in earlier seasons.
>Yes, she comes to a realization of her own when she thinks about the past
It was a daydream. Everything about how it was presented said "comedic daydream that will turn out to be Twilight overreacting again".
THAT would have made for a good episode. But that wasn't what happened.
I'll admit she looks pretty good in Amending Fences, but I think she pretty much gets her ass handed in What about Discord. She even gets driven to tears. And what character from the mane 6 ever got their ass handed without having a reconciliation/happy ending at the end of the episode? It wouldn't really be FiM without that.
How triggered will you guys be if his pet name for her is Flutterbutter? mfw I just found out Flutterbutter is a G3 pony,
>Everything about how it was presented said "comedic daydream that will turn out to be Twilight overreacting again"
For you I guess. To me, considering the information Twilight had about Moondancer and how Moondancer acted in the episode, it was pretty clear that it was a logical and fairly probable inference from the facts. Not every cartoon daydream has to be comedic and lead to overreaction. I mean, it's not even comedic or over-the-top or anything that would even lead to overreaction. Moondancer obviously acted consistent with that, and if it had turned out to be wrong, she wouldn't have had such a big problem with Twilight coming back since it wouldn't have bothered her in the first place.
That's a good point. And now that I think about it they did it a lot worse with flutts in the early episodes. The endings to "Dragonshy" and "Putting your hooves down" felt really forced. As if you can't have a character who's just meek and maybe isn't some kind of secretly strong independent woman. Real flaws aren't something you can just fix whenever it's convenient.
I kind of hope they don't. I don't have enough faith in them to do it properly.
>inb4 S6 ends with Discord being revealed to be Starswirl after all
>Discord sitting next to the fireplace, looking sad
>Fluttershy ask him to tell his story
>Discord tell her about his suffering from the past and losing every family member when he was just a child
>He reveals that his jester persona is just a mask to distance himself from ponies and to scare them away
>She place her hoof on his paw
Silly outro and credits roll
Hey, man, don't tell me. Tell her.
This is pretty much the only good place to get your fix during the hiatus. Also season 5 was good. If you look at other shows that devolve into romantic subplots by the fifth season we're actually pretty lucky the writers at least try.
Not soon enough by the look of this thread, Jesus.
It might not be the worst idea to make a new thread after this to discuss what we do and don't know about the upcoming season.
>"There’s no doubt, friendship is the best thing ever. But friendBOATS are great too!! — Pinkie Pie
>Coming in Season 6: Pinkie Pie will discover that there’s nothing quite as fun as rowing a Swan Boat through Manehattan with best friends!! You get to see the city from new and different angles, and it’s a fun way to explore Equestria together!!"
That swan boat had better sink and get them involved in some Oliver Twist shit. That'd be kind of neat. Elsewise it sounds like a pretty boring episode. Maybe it'll be about pollution or something.
Oh fuck that noise discoveryfam. As much as I love fucking reading you lorefags try to make something out of nothing I think everyone has said their piece for now.
make it tomorrow morning or when this thread 404's
C'mon, don't you want to get drunk and bitch about the show all night?
Explore Equestria is kind of an interesting theme for a season. I wonder if that means epic Season openers and closers are done for? Unless they're exploring to find something they need to defeat a foe they uncover in the opener. Could even be instigated by some knowledge Starlight has, since she's got a very diverse and different education than Twilight.
15 posts before bump limit, anon
The Holiday issue was actually one of the few decent ones of late. Unlike last year's EqG fuck-you-fest.
Notable note: Hasbro made the comic change their artwork about seaponies on an IDW cover. This is what it looked like before and after, with the deliberate change to resemble the "Sparkling Sea" book's seaponies in the alteration (right).
Aquatic creatures in this franchise are a fucking mess. The creatures on the left showed up in later issues of the comic in ADDITION to the ones on the right that are the more traditional MLP seapony.
