LIGHTNING ROUND draw prompt!
>Draw a sketch of a pony, or any other creature, while leaving any construction lines in.
Winter break continues for the fillies and colts of Equestria. Eventually they'll be called back to their classrooms for more schooling, perhaps sooner rather than later, but the teachers are still enjoying their time off, too. Still, it might be a good idea to start thinking about those return homework projects. Vacation essays, diorama crafts - the usual sorts of simple participation and attentiveness assignments. Critical thinking generally waits for the class to have readjusted to work. Which all means it's extra-important that a filly has some great days to write about!
Apple Bloom was away for Hearth's Warming; was Sweetie Belle with her family, too? Likely. Rainbow Dash might have been free, though, if she didn't go back to Cloudsdale for a visit. What kind of holiday was it for Scootaloo?

>Anon asks Discord to turn him into a mare
>He tells ponies about it
>Every single last detail
>Especially the part where they fucked
>Own a Twilight bank.
>Put coins into her head.
>Sometimes wonder if, were she alive, she'd derive some kind of pleasure from having coins forced into her head-cunt.
What have you people done to me.
He only expected the part when Discord made him look pregnant, not Discord telling Rarity how he couldn't tell that the aloof, portly human was doing the things they were doing for the entire night.
Why does this post seem familiar some how?
So I've been thinking lately.
I think it's reasonable to say Friendship is Magic would be less popular if you took out any single member of the mane 6.
Imagine the series having Twilight actually return to Canterlot for her studies after S1 opener and the series dealing solely with the other 5, even if as well developed as they are today.
I think it's reasonable to assume a chunk of the Twifags (chosen since it was the biggest group bar none back in the day, obvously) would have probably not stuck with us.
The same could be said for all ponies, even if the impact may have been varying in greatness (sorry, AJ... people like you but I doubt any one of us actually watches the show directly because of you).
With that said, the question that arose in my mind is as follows,
"Could have adding another character into the main cast back in the day possibly made the show more popular back when it first started and ultimately nowadays?
Or would that simply spread around the fans of the current M6 between 7 characters instead of 6 with maybe a completely negligible increase of fans?"
What do you think, MLPG?
I'm pretty sure that the main six cover all the important traits that people enjoy, if you had introduced another main character they would have had the same traits, just in a different combination.
Depends on what we consider significant.
Yes, but I think you would get less and less pay off as you added more characters. Since a good going off point would be "what about eight or nine". Assuming the character complimented the other six as well as they do.
And I don't think it'd be amazingly more. Maybe 10% more.
No, I don't know what the character would be like though. I think Faust was running out of ideas with just the six ("Rarity is the element of...
passion? Creativity? ...generosity. That works.").
This is assuming she had an idea for a seventh.
Although if the show began to spread out after season 6 or completely changed focus, it would be interesting if the characters an episode could focus on grew more, beyond the mane 6, Spike and the CMC. Like a town.
I guess an overall plot could have it be cutiemark related. Maybe cute pre-cutiemark fillies are used to introduce older ponies with jobs and hobbies and the audience explores the town through their eyes.
I can't speak for everyone but I got into the show because of the its setting, charm and writing appealed to me. Really getting attached to the characters themselves didn't really come until a few episodes later. Unless a seventh character really changed the show's dynamic or status quo I can't imagine that they really would've made much of a difference to the show's popularity.
Seriously now, cartoon physics are already a funky subject and MLP adds magic to the mix.
Fun stuff for something largely based around the observation of how the world works unless you could develop a theory that explains and supports the actions in a rational way going into the "We are all cartoon characters drawn in another dimension," category.
They seem to have consistent physics in their universe, even though we constantly see cartoon physics stuff in the show
This Coco is super cute but she seems her coat has yellowed from neglect.
Wash your coat, ponies.
Sorry for the late replies but my net went out for a bit.
>No, I don't know what the character would be like though. I think Faust was running out of ideas with just the six ("Rarity is the element of...
>passion? Creativity? ...generosity. That works.").
That was actually Hasbro thinking the concept of creativity is too difficult to grasp for children, so she had to changed it to what's essentially a subset of kindness.
However, the impact of the princessification of Twilight actually negatively impacted the number of people both here, on /mlp/ or even EQD and it is empirically provable.
So even individual characters must have some sort of bearing on the overall fan population, even if it is not applicable to all people watching the show.
Yes but princessification is one of those big status quo breakers. Not saying that you're wrong, but people may have stopped watching because they felt it ruined the cast dynamics, the setting or the show's direction instead of Twilight's character. So we have to take those things into account; how many people tuned out because they thought Twilicorn ruined Twilight herself.
I'm pretty sure it's because it was a pretty big change to the show, not because it actually ruined anything
Some people just hate change and would stop watching a show because of that, and not many people would start watching a show just because of a simple change to the status quo
Can't really blame him can you?
>That was actually Hasbro thinking the concept of creativity is too difficult to grasp for children,
You know, maybe it is. At least in the way it's presented in the pilot.
Sure, kids are told they're so creative for having so many ideas, but what Rarity did to fix Steven's moustache was coming up with a creative solution. That's a much more general superset of creativity than children are used to thinking about. That's solving shit with creative solutions.
Wow, that sounds so much more accurate for Rarity than generosity. She's the more mature one of the group, of course she would be a creative problem solver.
The shit she did to become essentially in charge of the Diamond Dogs for a while? That was some clever manipulation.
Sweet talking someone to get a better deal on something? That's also a creative solution.
Most of the other ponies would just pout or roll over.
>Some people just hate change and would stop watching a show because of that.
Wouldn't these kind of people get filtered after S2 shifted the dynamic from Twilight onto the whole cast and then later back when S3 started with pretty different approach to problems, having changed quite a few people in the highest ranks?
As opposed to sticking out until S3 finally ended to call it quits.
>You know, maybe it is.
It's a confirmed trivia piece, not an assumption on our part, anon.
Those didn't really change the dynamic though, or at least it changed pretty gradually
There's really not much difference between only Twilight writing letters and the rest writing letters too
Arguably, her other actions more or less speak for themselves, being an artist and all.
If a kid started thinking about it, the fact she's not really representing her element all that much could potentially be even more confusing than some of her actions you mentioned.
At least in my opinion.
how is celestia able to remain youthful-looking even at her advanced age
>Why can't anyone say my name right?
>Welcome to Equestria, esteemed visitor from Earth. In the hopes of building a diplomatic relationship with your world, we would like to invite you, Earth's ambassador, to do anything, go anywhere, see anything you want in our fine realm. What would you like to do today?
>Well, go ahead...
I wonder what she thinks about the mane 6 forgiving Starlight.
Random pony from Starlight's town who moved to Canterlot.
>I hope to get a useful special talent someday, like Twilight's!
Well things are looking up for her lately
i like filly versions of known ponies
nice, i'm going to use that
so are the stars in MLP still other galaxies and shit? or is luna just moving around holes in the sphere that surrounds their world?
if that was intentional rather than just reused assets that's a nice touch
doesn't twilight compliment her on something like that? I seem to recall someone referencing her being able to do that, at least.
damn maybe i've just read so much non-canon stuff with luna that i think it's canon.
>doesn't twilight compliment her on something like that?
I only remember that kind of thing happening in FiW where she's trying to trick the retarded Luna.
Anyway, the merchandise still works in your favor, though.
Viz. "Formerly Nightmare Moon, Princess Luna is the younger sister of Princess Celestia. Ruling over the moon and the stars, Luna helps Celestia oversee Equestria."
That is what it says on her CCG card.
I suppose I can see it, but I know I never self insert. I always see these things as an outside observer.
someone asked if I was gonna do the prompt, and hell yeah I am
oh my gosh look at that pony
sorry, I just got excited - shoulda stayed anon
>what's a joke faggot?
Oohh you got him good
Would you rather a minotaur, pony or griffon?
No you can't have all three at once.
Did you seriously believe the 1 year claims?
I think we might be looking at another split season but they'd have to be sitting on their haunches for a pretty damn long time not to have at least half of S6 done by 2017.
Heck, even Sibsy still has some of her work in S6 and she left back in October last year.
Senior storyboard artist.
Fluttershy is the cutest and sweetest little pone.
And by that I mean, she's still doing as she did back then, just not on something that's announced yet so... eh.
Anyway, only the "Walk away from work negativity" part is of any interest to us.
I'm imaging Fluttershy just laying on the ground, a shivering heap of nerves as she gets pet by six people.
I mean I don't have any reason to not like her, but damn this message is just so passive aggressive at the end and makes her seem like the type of person who openly invites drama into her life a lot.
It's Sibsy... I'm pretty sure everyone caught on to her dramatic tendencies by now.
But hey. she did good while she was on the show, left it by now and lives in Alaska, having married Mando who is also out of the pony business by now.
No reason to give it more than a passing thought, really.
pones being petted is hard to argue with
I wonder what that's like from the pony's perspective
Pretty awesome in most circumstances
Maud π confirmed in season 6?
That's not where I was going with that question, anon.
Even if I do agree that Twilight lost a bit of her top pony status back then.
Spike is kinda cute with his spines like that
I want to pet a
She has so many hats, you'd think she'd have at least one huge one. Just in case.
Not necessarily. Even in the event that she doesn't spontaneously begin increasing in size someday, there's always a good use for a giant hat.
I'd believe it until they put this meme in the show
even a regular hat has multiple uses
Hats are indeed very good at covering things. And the bigger hat, the better, right?
pone life is best life
Nothing wrong with that anon
and you could be a pony ponying on the internet totally naked all the time
All the foals.
All day. Every day.
Life in pony must be so great.
get your mind out of the filly gutter
Sure, i've been lazy on the colts lately. Could spend some time with them instead.
It seems more like her life is severely lacking drama, which she does not like. Drama means attention and getting to be a victim.
She wants people to THINK her life is super stressful and dramatic and full of hardships and "abuse" (LOLOLOL), because it'll make people feel sympathy for her and therefore pay her more attention without actually doing anything. People with real problems in their life usually don't throw them into the face of the public eye.
She's a competent and successful artist, she shouldn't need validation through acting like a poor little victim that gets bullied by meanies online.
Stressors are usually pretty relative. What might be stressful to you might not be for somebody else. Besides, you don't know what exactly people send her privately or what happens outside of the internet.
He's been this sort of scholar of the realm.
Making him a special donutsteel race would kind of diminish that achievement.
MLPG what are your wishlists for the show before it Ends?
Celestia gets an episode and doesn't get jobbed.
Royal Sisters episode
Eastern Unicorns (Can't just mention them like they have some significance and then say nothing about em.)
you don't want a beach episode?
Rei draws a very pretty Gloomy. I wish he'd draw her more.
>"What a beautiful day in the neighborhood! Let's go see Princess Trolley, Anon!"
Well, it's kinda weird.
It's not like the poster count here dropped or something yet we're still moving at the average of 2 threads made in a day with an inclination to go even lower.
Yet at the end of 2014, we were going at about 3 threads per day with an inclination towards 4 threads a day.
We're dying anon.
Like tears in rain.
Less drama. There used to be hardly a thread without people shitposting about some tripfag or some staff member or some fandom personality.
And drama creates lots of posts. The few times we had it in the past lead to the thread finishing hours before it would have normally finished.
I HAVE A QUESTIONS:
A) WHERE TO SUBMIT THE PROMPT?
2) IS THIS WHAT THEY ACTUALLY WANTED?
III) RUB RUB RUB
Except, you know, we're talking late 2014 MLPG.
It's not like there was any drama or topics to go about back then.
We were in pretty much the same state as we are now, yet we were faster for some reason.
You know, I probably should have read the whole prompt text thing properly.
All that talk about Maud earlier got me in a Maud mood.
it's important to not ready too much or you might turn into an egghead
Hiatus stream starts in an hour.
Today we have
>Swarm of the Century
>Winter Wrap Up
>Book of Sara Paxton's song lyrics.
>"THE HELL WE WILL, FAGGOT!"
>You are old enough to see the first meme president
What a time to be alive.
I agree with the general idea but not with the execution.
I doubt there's many people on modern /co/ who'd get into the show at large.
If you ever lose it again, just search derpibooru for some absurd pony combo like Spitfire, Mrs. Cake and Zecora. Makes it rather easy to find it
they don't seem very compatible
Pinkie is always like walking on eggshells around her
Why are my private thoughts invading mlpg?
I think that's what I'll title my memoirs
>I knew those diamond dog dresses I made last year would come in handy
She has a big fat pink dick waiting for you
Too much fanservice. I mean, a couple butt shots I could understand...but a whole "lemme put this in" scene with Flutters and Dash, complete with moaning and pump action was a bit too much. Even tho it was about shoe-wearing.
Because Anon didn't give the context: this was on the MLP Facebook page.
SPOILERED FOR THE HYPER-SENSITIVE
There’s no doubt, friendship is the best thing ever. But friendBOATS are great too!! — Pinkie Pie
Coming in Season 6: Pinkie Pie will discover that there’s nothing quite as fun as rowing a Swan Boat through Manehattan with best friends!! You get to see the city from new and different angles, and it’s a fun way to explore Equestria together!!"

Oh you. Thanks for streaming!
Why can't these artists just write "fuck".
Agreed. I like "rut" better. Even though it has the connotation that she's in heat and that the goal is impregnation. But that's the technical point of sex anyway, right? So I could see the term sliding to just mean sex in general if it was meant for procreation originally.
My sentiments exactly whenever untranslated moonrunes pop up
>"Hahahaha, that comic is too funny!"
>"Oh shit, that's lewd!"
>"Reminds me of Super Saint omakidakumami no gawakura kawai desu ne!"
"...W-WHAT ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT!?!?!"
>human intelligence or greater
If it is immoral to fuck anything below your level of intelligence, this implies that fucking anything above your intelligence is also immoral, as by this standard you are incapable of giving informed consent, and forcing your partner into an immoral act.
If we had meaningful nonhuman intelligent entities to interact with, we'd need a more robust system of deciding when it is okay to get freaknasty and with whom.
Tubby ponies can be kind of cute, but it's strange she has teats while Rarity does not.
But that's clearly just anthrocentrism.
If apes could talk but were still otherwise as dumb as apes, i.e., they couldn't develop new, complex uses for tools, or organize into social structures beyond the troop/tribe level, would that still be immoral?
I suspect the line in that argument is drawn at "average human intelligence" because below that feels like pedophilia, which is icky to us.
Wouldn't it be similar to an entity of superhuman intelligence, then?
