VR hasn't even hit the mainstream yet and we already have projects like this going on. Together we will make Equestria real.
I've tried this myself on the DK2 and was incredibly impressed.
Can confirm this shit is awsome in person with the VR helmet on. I was flying and smoking ponies with lightning bolts.
what is god mode
Flying is brilliant, as is slow mo teleporting. You ever tried jumping off the town hall? I honestly felt like I'd hit the floor.
I'll admit that it isn't perfect, but it is incredibly immersive. With some good voice actors and a couple of quests, it'd be a fantastic start for VR ponies.
Ho shit I forgot the teleporting. That was nice how you did it simply by looking were you want to go, clicking the right button and then boom, instant transmission.
>You ever tried jumping off the town hall? I honestly felt like I'd hit the floor
Yeagh I did that. Had the same rush as a rollercoaster.
VR porn applications haven't really taken off just yet, though there are a few good ones. In terms of clop, this is all there is so far:
Btw, CV1 preorders go up tomorrow
>it does work without VR in a standard first-pony perspective, and that's the default way it runs unless you have a VR headset hooked up. It's not as cool without VR I fear though, but it's definitely an option.
I'm downloading this and running it right now.
Even just a SFW MMO would be incredible.
See you autists in Equestria. /)
>still wants to be human
These levels of comfy...I've only ever heard about them in the mythologies.
But holy shit, people are going to get addicted to this technology.
Every day Anon will come home from work, sit where his computer once was, and log in.
Reality will become so awful by caparison. His final sights will be the lights from his headset feeding him lies while the many pills give him merciful sleep.
I'm both ecstatic that this will be within my lifetime, and horrified as to what it might become.
This is only the beginning friend.
Scientists have recently begun to discover how to communicate directly with the human brain in the same vein as REAL VR tech. Imagine if everyone could dive into Virtual Equestria Sword Art Online style, imagine if you could not only see what it's like to be a pony, but also feel, smell and taste what it's like to be a little pony.
It's coming soon, in fact it could very well be sooner than you think.
Observe the link! Science can already allow you to control an avatar using nothing but thought alone! This is already at a point of near commercial viability, expect it to show up in the next generation of VR headsets.
The only obstacle left is communicating the information back in the opposite direction to create a truly virtual world to experience. However I feel that even this is not too far away, 20 years tops.
At one point they stard reading your mind and locking you cuz you hqve a fucked up mind
Or they overwrite it so you're more compatible with the other idiots
Fucking inb4 we already live in a simulation and we make another simulation
Fucking rick and morty...
Imagine if we are already in a simulation.
What if we're ponies who got addicted to VR humanity simulations and now things have gone full circle and we'll soon end up being addicted to pony simulations.
We might already be magical little ponies and not even know it.
>Pinkie Pie chunks flying everywhere
That's too much money, but I'd be finally able to interact with the ponies I love and wasted a good deal of my life on.
That's assuming the cost of the PC as well, games like PonyVRVille will only work well on 290/970+ systems, but in the future, you're gonna need more power than that.
Basically get a job and blast it until you have the cash, that's my plan, if you already have a job, stop eating. Either way it'll be worth it.
>but in the future, you're gonna need more power than that
Luckily there has been advancement in optical computing. Last year they've made the very first optical processor prototype work.
Sadly it's not 100% optical, but maybe in the future they can make a working optical computing (they've already figured out how to save data optically by deforming the molecules between crystalline/amorphous phases, thus altering if a light signal is transmitted or not through the material).
Also don't forget the quantum computing area of research.
