Evil exists. Keeping a child in a perpetual state of ignorance of the existence of evil is not good for their health. The show presents a moral - that friendship is the stronger than any evil. Although this is not true in the sense that the show presents - friendship cannot be turned into a giant laser cannon - it is true in the sense that evil can be prevented by nurturing strong friendships with our fellow man.

Consider real examples of evil in the world. We have had a string of mass shooters in the past few years. What would drive a person to do this? Obviously contempt for one's fellow human beings. If you look at the profile of many of these people, most of them had few to no friends. Had others shown them true elements of friendship, such as kindness and generosity, would they have necessarily felt a reason to go out and do such things?

The realization that evil exists, and that life is not nice, should serve as a wake up call to young children. Be a good person, befriend others and try not to bully people, so we can create less Tireks in the world.
