Stating the obvious, first: Holy shit this episode was just about perfect.
It still doesn't answer all the questions. All we know about Bright Mac and Pear Butter is that they're absent for some reason. All we have on their ultimate fate are a couple of one-off lines about "if they were here." That's it. No "they've passed on" or "we'll never see them again." It's some pretty deeply rooted word-of-Faust fanon that they're dead, but other than that we have nothing.
How should a kids' show give closure to this? I just saw something else where a dead family member shows up as a ghost, but part of me wants them not to be dead so they can show up more than once.
