Because he's incredibly bitter to the fact that he's not a huge celebrity, and that the biggest role he'll probably ever get in his life is a character that barely gets any speaking roles.
The rest of the staff, writing and VA, absolutely fucking detest the guy. Towards the end of S3, he bitched to Meghan or someone that he wasn't getting enough voice roles and wanted a bigger role. Writers hated him though, so gave him female characters and then an episode in S5 that completely destroyed his character, plus one in S6 that did the same.
Until he got engaged, he relished at being invited to every con because it was an excuse for him to act like a drunken obnoxious mess that would get kicked out were he not a VIP. He would constantly be creepy around women too. Worse than these two things, he'd always try to create a drama about something that happened at the con to cover his behavior.
He has massive delusions of grandeur and thinks the fandom gives a shit about his gag character, and is too dumb to realize show staff hate him and intentionally make his character unlikable because of it.

What you see here began as a series of comedy-centric stories with the concept of an alicorn-ascended Princess Applejack trying to change a mismanaged Equestria for the better by humorously interacting with the other, quite lazy, princesses.
Not to mention a whole bunch of Changelings with nothing better to do but cause mischief.

The Pro Wrestling lifestyle, one that involves a lot of chaos and change up and down. You have decided to partake in it, for reasons unmentioned to anypony else.

It's going to be quite the mountain for you to climb. The friends and enemies you form will be key to how your trip goes. You can be the biggest hero in EWE, or the biggest villain. The choice is up to you.
