>Kamen Rider Ghost Episode 19 Preview
I'm at episode 12 of Faiz. When does Taku being likable? It's a bit of a dick.
Dunno. I never really liked him. He can be sort of understood if you realize that he's deeply, deeply depressed because of events that happened before the series, but they take way too long to reveal that so you spend like 2/3 of the show just thinking he's straight retarded and incapable of acting like a normal human being, because
Hey Metronome, are you too good for the tradition "rub a dub dub"?
But anon, this isn't the 90s anymore...
See how successful I am?
You guys should have ditched Kamen Rider before it's too late.
>looking for qt gf on your own forum
>"It's because of your mourning why the bad guy has come back!"
>"you are not real Kamen Riders because you hold on to your feelings of depression for those you lost!"
>despite the fact that Black and Stronger still kind of have some baggage from their issues and V3's initial reason for being a rider was for revenge
Takumi is the only one by the end that is slightly likable
>wanting a girl with shit taste in subs
>wanting a girl who likes toku
>wanting a girl who likes toku
It's like a mythical figure, finding a cool girl who's into toku.
>Pulling through drive through at a mcburger joint for quick lunch
>Listening to She-ja's rider album
>qt at window hands me my food
>"Hey, is that Kamen Rider V3 you're listening to?"
>Genuinely stunned, answer yes
>She says cool, I want to chat, but had to pull away because there were other cars behind me
>Never saw her again
No joke, I found out a guy I once worked with was into Kamen Rider. At first I was really surprised and kind of excited at the prospect of having someone to chat about Toku with at work. After one conversation I found out his favorite series was Faiz and that he hated my favorite, OOO. We never spoke again. Some things just aren't meant to be.
The only other toku fan I've met didn't think Meteor was rad as fuck and liked his toku to be mature, dark, and "epic".
I'll stick with you guys.
Not always. One of my exes was a toku fan sure she ended being a bit coocoo but it was cool to find someone who loved toku. And beyond that I've met a good number of fun toku fans (hell if it wasn't for them I'd never be able to do the toku podcast I do now)
So no its not always bad but I guess I've just been a bit luckier?
Back when I still frequented it, I saved this image for browsing /v/, but I realize if you switch out the consoles for toku shows, the same could easily apply to /krg/ and /ssg/.
I don't think there are any toku lovers in this town
I have yet to run into one, but I guess the opportunity rarely presents itself.
Its not like its hard too though, I still wear my Gaim hoodie around sometimes.
Don't forget there's probably also people that downplay that interest so you'd never notice them. Not everyone wants to proclaim loudly that they watch Kamen Rider or Sentai given what they're associated with.
>despite the fact that Black and Stronger still kind of have some baggage from their issues
Stronger really doesn't though. After Tackle's death, he stops his speeches and such during the rest of the series, but he's back to it in Skyrider, showing that he had left it behind.
That's actually the whole point they could give a speech like that. They had their own share of tragedy, but could go forwards rather than being stuck in it.
The only tokubro I ever met was the guy that got me into toku in the first place, but unfortunately he "outgrew" it and now thinks toku is dumb kiddy crap.
It hurts me, it hurts me in my soul.
I once saw a Japanese guy in Disneyland wearing a Black RX shirt. I stopped him to say I liked it, and while I don't think he could speak English very well, I think he got the idea and was really surprised that this white kid knew what the hell it even was. That was my only ever real life Toku encounter.
Man I had to wait till I went to animenext last year to meet ANY toku fans. I still have hope that my phone will ring and someone will recognize DeadHeat Machs standby noise. Someday
yeah I got mine before all the suffering began and the teams became meaningless
kind of a bummer
I kinda want to get a new one, but its hard to it when there's a new show every year ya know?
Man I had to wait till I went to animenext last year to meet ANY toku fans. I still have hope that my phone will ring and someone will recognize DeadHeat Machs standby noise. Someday
I have the Sengoku Driver standby as my ringtone, and the "SOIYA" as my message tone for that very reason.
why have characters started wearing the exact same clothes for the entire show? I feel like this started with Fourze and it's school uniforms(which made sense) but ever since literally every character has worn the same exact clothes from when they are first introduced until the end of the show.
>Wizard's detective girl always in detective suit
>Kaito always wearing his Baron outfit long after he leaves Baron
>Shinossuke with his suit
>Chase with his edgy purple get up
>Kiriko with her police-woman uniform that no other police-women seem to wear
>DeadHeat Machs standby noise
Why in god's name would you do that?
I used to use that one before I got into rider full time again. I feel like I should switch to Specters stand by just for shits n giggles.
I have my phone dial pad set up like the faiz dial pad sounds.
It's discreet enough to be some funky time yet noticeable enough for any rider fan to recognize.
Gou himself had it on his phone in the show.
Which reminds me, I really like the idea that Gou took out his phone, changed into Mach, then grabbed his phone again and loaded up Deadheat just so he could record it for a ringtone. Because honestly, that sounds like something he would do.
>just something to relax my brain
What the fuck? Just admit you enjoy it.
It went as far back as Double, although I'd consider it closer to styles. Terui had several different colors of the same outfit and Shotaro had a variety of Windscale jackets, vests, and fedoras.
Eiji and Ankh both had themed clothing, with Eiji looking like a vagabond and Ankh always having a red sleeve.
I'm pretty sure Takumi has several different colors/patterns of the same shirt+belt combo, and Shinnosuke had different ties and undershirts. From the series I've seen, only Gou and Makoto literally wore the exact same thing outside of villains/side characters.
I had never wandered into /m before, never realized this is where the toku fans are.
I've got a bit of a problem though... My fav was Kamen Rider Black and I had never seen much of the heisei other than Kuuga, Agito, Ryuuki, Decade, W, Wizard and OOO's.
I tried watching Gaim and can't get through the dance-battle popularity contest theme for these first 6 episodes or so, is it worth sticking around through?
Drive so far has been somewhat boring despite having what should be a cool theme, but I can stick around for it, thanks to the monster designs being done by Takeya.
I still have a hard time watching Ghost too because of how bumbling, unconfident, whiny the main Rider is from the first few episodes + the design.
I'm not here to argue about which Rider is best, just wondering if Gaim and Ghost are worth watching... Especially cause I've heard people raving about Gaim. Also, hi toku fans, nice to know there's a thread here.
If it's an intro series stick with gaim other wise go with other shows instead.
Honestly unless you like Madoka Magika with fruits and shitty symbolism stay far away from Gaim. Go with W or hell even Den O
Both Ghost and Gaim get better around like episode 10.
By the end, Gaim eventually goes so far into apocalyptic "shit gets real" territory that you almost forget about the dancing shit entirely.
>I tried watching Gaim and can't get through the dance-battle popularity contest theme for these first 6 episodes or so, is it worth sticking around through?
The dance stuff is almost entirely ditched after the first 8 eps or so. It's still there as a thing but the rest of the plot becomes compelling enough to make you not really care. And actually, the dance stuff is really fun later on because it's a nice break from the hyper-serious shit that Gaim throws at you constantly from like ep15 and on.
Gaim is similar to Ryuki, it just takes longer to set things up. I'd say it's worth watching, but if it's not your thing I'd recommend going back and watching Blade and Kabuto. In fact all of heisei phase 1 is pretty solid and should be watched, especially Faiz.
W is probably one of my fav for the heisei shows. I haven't seen Den O, I might give that a try, I do like the monster designs in that.
Ok thanks, I have seen Fourze actually. Surprisingly I really enjoyed Fourze's story as kiddy as it was.
Ok I'll try to stick around for both past ep 10.
Maybe try Kabuto? It scatters a bit near the end but is overall pretty solid
The anon said he had issues with how bumbling, unconfident and whiny Takeru is, I don't think sending him to Den-O is a good idea
Gathering ideas for writers.
Actually there are quite a bit of findings from toku writers choosing their topics for filler episodes.
Take Igami, Inoue, and Kobayashi. Their human-relationship stories are based actual events and news which had happened in the past, and remolded them for toku in an exaggerated way. For older people they can actually tell right away.
The more I dig into it the more reference material I have for others to use, which is fun.
what the fuck is wrong with you?
SUCH A FINE CONTRAST OF TRAITS
You don't have to be a girl to have an ass like that, her chest is still flat as fuck. Oh well, that doesn't stop me from craving her/his boipussy.
>tfw have no buddy
Remember the year Sentai had more motorcycles than Rider as well?
>All Kyoryugers had motorcycles
>One-off movie villain got a unique motorcycle
>Red Buster had a talking robot motorcycle
>The Go-Buster even had a mecha that turned into a giant mortocycle
>That their mecha could ride
>Kamen Rider Beast never got his own motocycle
It's worse when you remember that fucking Phoenix got his own motorcycle, for one episode.
I dunno, Igor's going to make the Ganma pretty cool when he'll wear them.
Just say you don't like Shimamoto's retro look designs.
Ok, will try Kabuto, I do love the suit and monster designs for Kabuto. Noted about Den-O similarities with Ghost...
You know, I have never seen Blade. I do like the suit and monster designs for Blade too.
The first ten or so episodes of Blade are a special kind of magic. Be prepared for
BORO BORO DA
>new weapon/form is introduced
>rider uses weapon/form to kick the shit out of an important villain but villain escapes
>rider uses said weapon/form on a MOTW and it's suddenly average at best
why is this allowed? good example is when Drive gets the door gun and almost kills chase, then the very next episode the gun is rendered borderline useless by a motw
The Door Gun is pretty shit in general, it only really comes in handy once or twice
I've dropped Ghost on episode 9, and now I'm thinking about coming back to it. Should I?
It's alright I guess, Alan being a yandere fuck is pretty amusing
post itt characters who were the best in their respective shows
Dude somehow managed to win the previous battle fight and converted Joker to humanity
>Pushing this meme
Stop. We ALL know who the best character in Gaim was.
Have you watched the Gaim part of Full Throttle yet? That's basically it, along with more Takatora.
Not even close. Inves I'll give you.
Let's be honest, apart from the Bee they're Stage Show tier.
Is that even a fedora? It looks more like a woman's hat.
Are all Riders who main guns such punk bitches?
This was a pretty great episode. Kinda wish Ryoma did more than two attacks though.
Only Micchy. The rest are pretty cool.
That episode was fucking garbage. The dude and his dad have serious, deep-seated issues, and Takeru just walks in and talks about friendship or whatever the fuck and suddenly they're playing catch and hacking satellites like every father and son should. Even worse, it takes like three tries to actually convince the guy, but nothing meaningfully changes about his approach. The father just randomly has a change of heart near the end because they're running out of time in the episode and gotta get their fight scene in.
Does anyone else feel this scene hits a little hard? I strongly believe this scene was inspired by real events, with Katio and Kouta representing Gaim writers and Ryoma representing Toei with Peach representing hired muscle to enforce Toei's demands.
>gaim going great
>writers having fun with dancing and pokemon
>toei phones in demanding more toy sales
>writers get handed drivers that say "SODA" and fizz
>writers shrug it off because it's stupid and makes no sense in the story
>toei abducts them and forces them to introduce the stupid fucking SODA drivers and stupid fucking bows thus ruining the 10/10 they had going for drivers
I don't know, I think the reasoning behind their dispute was clear: the Father being too guilt-ridden by the death of his eldest son to let himself work on another satellite, and the other son wanting to follow in his father's footstep despite it. The main thing Takeru did was to shine the issue in a different light, saying that the two should work together to realise Nakamura's dream. And since Ryoma's whole deal is having big dreams and following through with them even after death, it all tied up nicely at the end.
If anything, this episode was lacking in fight scenes, although we did see Alain step up to bat and steal the GanGunHand away from Specter, which was neat.
Are you really trying to imply the Genesis drivers were made in advanced? You gotta be shitting me, bros. The SODA shit and the fizzing and the color and the random ass bow literally make no fucking sense in the world of Gaim. How the fuck is melon soda relevant to the Sengoku era? The genesis drivers literally break the shows theme in half.
I will never actually believe that before they even started writing for Gaim they looked at these drivers and thought "wow these are fucking great, i love the fizz noise and how we didn't carry over the badass sword from the sengoku drivers". I refuse. This has to be a thing thrown together with absolutely zero creativity because lock seeds weren't selling well or something.
>defending melon soda and the blasphemous driver that ruined Zangetsu's aesthetically fucking perfect beautiful base form that shits on every other kamen rider suit design ever
what the fuck is wrong with you
You do know that the Sengoku Driver calls out different types of juice, right?
The leap from Fruit Juices to Fruit Soda isn't that hard to grasp, or at least it shouldn't be if you're under the age of 11.
>How the fuck is melon soda relevant to the Sengoku era? The genesis drivers literally break the shows theme in half.
Soda breaks the theme but a knight, gladiator and viking don't, despite the latter two being even further away chronologically?
>This has to be a thing thrown together with absolutely zero creativity because lock seeds weren't selling well or something.
From what I remember the lockseeds sold pretty well, and information about Genesis Drivers came out as soon as Gaim started airing. Here's an old report from a few days after the first episode http://henshinjustice.com/2013/10/09/unconfirmed-new-riders-new-lock-seeds-and-new-drivers-oh-my/
For real? You realize they're planning out both belts for the series after Ghost right now? In Bandai headquarters at some point this week there will be a meeting to discuss next year's products. They can add individual collectibles mid-line, but anything that costs more than like $10 to produce is completely out of the question.
>I will never actually believe that before they even started writing for Gaim they looked at these drivers and thought "wow these are fucking great, i love the fizz noise and how we didn't carry over the badass sword from the sengoku drivers".
The writers and show staff in general don't exactly have a choice. They had plans for insects and birds but Banda made them use fruits instead.
The Fact that Goemon was captured and name is even know, proves he was a failed Ninja.
Also for future Riders:
For a Ninja form, what weapons and Abilities would you like to see?
It's like you forgot about the genesis core. The sengoku driver toy even has a pin that pushes forward when you slice to activate the energy lockseed. A rider suit and it's special effects take time to make as well. So they had to be planned from the beginning.
The only series that could arguably work a sequel is Gaim and only if Micchy or Jonouchi were the protag. Yggdrasil essentially burned to the ground and the world was fucked by Helheim so there's a good setting.
I just use his stand henshin bit as my ringtone, with Drive's standby as my text alert. I want the honketyhonk as a text alert, but can't find it.
I also use the Go-Busters ringtone as my alarm every morning.
I wake up alone.
>Another asteroid falls
>Eiji's quest to restore ankh is continued
>literally anything because nothing happened in the original wizard
>micchy rebuilds yggdrasil and Kaito's ghost comes to kill him
Seriously though, the only one above that i'm even remotely interested in is seeing more Eiji and Ankh. I would however like to see a second season of a show from phase 1 where the old main rider is now the mentor type character. Kabuto would be perfect for this because an older Tendou would be based as fuck and i would love to get zecters back.
>all kabuto riders assemble
>these worms are stronger before and we aren't that young
>riders die and zecters are destroyed
>only Tendou and Kagami left and are losing hope
>new zecter appears and chooses new MC
>Tendou and kagami must train young MC to fight worms
>hilarious tendou and kagami moments
There were probably compounding issues. My buddy's dad took away all his rider toys, transformers, and legos, and to hear him tell it his dad's just a fun-hating nazi, but really it was because he dropped out of college twice and has no concept of how to spend money (literally every paycheck goes straight toward toys without saving a penny).
I'll give you that.
Not much depth to her, Date or Mako were more fun.
She had zero motivation by the end of it, she just wanted banana baron dick. Give it to Oren or Takatora.
Good but Brain was better.
Close tie for me, I would have gone with Nitoh but I don't begrudge people who say Rinko.
Stronger has no "issues" and V3 got over his over 40 years ago. Black is the only one you're right about since Toei thinks dragging on this whole soap opera with Shadowmoon for decades is really good drama.
post your ships
how much do you think they payed him to do this?
God that movie was an abortion. "Let's get all your favorite characters' actors back, and then have them play unrelated nameless losers." And yes I'm salty as fuck over not getting more Ryu x Akiko.
why does kamen rider allow its casting directors to cast women who have appeared nude? What happens when little takanori or little takahashi jpgoogle her name and see that? What the fuck were they thinking?
Kenzaki from Blade was in gay porn. It was just his dick getting sucked, it was pretty creepily amateur and an obvious "I need the money" thing, and not officially JAV (Which is a brand like Gravure) but it caused a few heated protests at the time.
Meanwhile, most lead Riders since Hibiki have had photobooks where they have posed in little to no clothing. RIght off the top of my head, I can distinctly remember that Masahiro Inoue has a bubble butt.
Well, they were playing parodies of historical Japanese characters, like Terui's actor was that world's Hideyoshi.
They were just pointless though, since each one only appeared for one scene.
>literally the only canon ship ever
Did they go skirtless? or were those bloomers?
>Kouta and Mai
>implying mai didn't want kaito
>implying kouta could ever get within the same galaxy as mai and kaito's sexual tension
>implying even if kouta got that ass she wouldn't be imagining it was kaito
>implying kouta wasn't gay for micchy, then takatora, then micchy again
>tfw Mai would've happily went with who ever the victory of Kouta or Kaito's showdown.
>In a Show about Growing up to the Horrors of the World and becoming an Adult, The goal in the end is to get your dick wet and breed.
>, the others weren't even worth mentioning.
You mean the ones that actually happened IN THE FUCKING SHOWS whereas Screamyslut McSandalSmacking married Ryu in a shitty fucking crossover movie written by INOUE and was referenced in two gaidens and nowhere fucking else?
Shut the fuck up you autistic cunt.
So, a few threads ago we were talking about Onari becoming a Rider with a stolen Megauloader, Here's my contribution to that.
>The next episode takes place immediately after the events of the one where Onari stole the Megauloader in the first place, the only change being it's now attached to his arm and no one can remove it.
>Takeru, being the sensible person that he is, asks Yurusen if she can sort this out.
>The moment she pokes it, several glowing green tendrils shoot out and pull her into the Eyecon chamber.
>Takeru, Makoto and Sage try to pull her out, but the Megauloader swivels to the ready position with enough force to throw them off.
>It then activates its transformation automatically.
>TENGAN! SHAMAN! MEGAULOAD! SOUL PROTECTOR!
>Cue both Onari AND Yurusen freaking out at this.
I'll be honest, I haven't really thought about what would happen next.
By that fucking logic Ryu and Akiko don't count because Ryu was obviously more interested in thief-bitch because she wasn't screaming down his throat and threatening for a divorce just because he was trying to do his fucking job.
You mean compared to your actual retarded fanfiction? Even fucking AKiko was freaking out because she thought he was more interested in the thief girl.
Face it, Akiko ruins everything and it's a retarded pairing only done just for the sake of saying there's continuity in Double.
>Necrom gets a Kitbashed/Recolored Upgrade due to Popularity.
>This form will Either be:
>Mega Uloader+Unmasked Ghost Driver Combo.
>Same as Above+New Eyecon.
>Just a New Eyecon.
If Onari gained a Mega Uloader?
>Goemon Eyecon+Necrom Base.
>Forgetting Wakana and Taboo
>Implying Akiko couldn't have been easily replaced by Leggy Magician girl
>Implying Akiko's actress didn't get a role because she literally fucked agents for popularity and advertised sex parties on 2ch
>People are saying Akiko is shit
>They're forgetting almost all female leads are trash.
Ozawa and Mana are good. BOARD girl is good. Hibiki's helper ladies are pretty good. Tendou's sister is okay. Hana is okay. Natsumelon is good. Hina is okay. All the girls in Fourze are best girl.
How fucking ignorant are you to not know that Akiko's actress posted a fuckton of nudes on 2ch, shitposted frequently, and organized "parties" where guys would let her come to their house and fuck a ton of guys? And don't ask for the nudes, she was underaged at the time. And honestly she looked fucking disgusting. Really sickly and pale.
and yet she didn't go down the drain like the others but keeps getting more jobs from TV Asahi, TBS, and has fuckton of offers from fashion magazines. Even gossip magazines could find much about her after that 2ch thing.
Mari has been more nude than Rinna.
She's so hairy downstairs that a Japanese family crashed a plane in there, and the only survivor went on to protect it from demons by turning into a lizard monster.
Are you fucking retarded? It was very obvious from the show itself that they were together by the end. I distinctly remember one of the goofy ending scenes where Shotaro was like "are you two...?" and Ryu was like "Dont question me" and Phillip was like "beep boop what is love?"
You are so ignorant and naive it's almost cute. You do understand the female idol/actress scene in East Asia is goddamn sex slavery right? Most women are fucking robots who basically pose almost nude and act cute to get nerds and lonely salarymen to pay for their photobooks and videos. One of the fastest ways up the ladder for a girl in Japan, Korea, or China is to fuck your boss. Akiko's actress did it the more efficient way by just constantly getting rich dudes to hold sex parties until at one point or another she blows an agent and she gets a job. She even fucking bragged about it after the fact.
>V3 movie that upgrades his suit
>Instead of simply remaking the Hurricane using a more modern motorbike
>the Hurricane gets remade into a fucking SKYCYCLE
I mean they did pull the Tricyclone for KR3 out of the old KR toys.
Also I sort of want to collect old KR tin toys now.
Wow, she's even done lesbian scenes. The one I really want to see nude is medic though.
so I know it's pretty obvious that Aran will probably join Takeru at this point but is it just me or is the Mega Uloader's sound bites kind of a huge obvious hint? I don't think anyone's invading Hell but there sure are a lot of Hell residents invading Earth.
Unless I'm understanding the translation wrong which could be.
Actually that has been proven by statements from talents some 15 years ago.
Agency has connection with the mob.
New male and female models has to go through "screening" auditions. Modeling agencies under the company "Burning" has taken nude pictures of them for whatever reasons. Before they can go get jobs they will go through "trial period". Those being picked have hidden jobs to support their daily lives. Talent agency Yellow Cab (which is gone now) is know to have their president groping female talents busts as part of the audition. Johnny's has their young male idols suing their boss for forcing them to have sex with him during day offs.
It's pretty muddy and people taking it as a normal thing there.
Obviously the cheapest Necrom kitbash to do is either
>TWO MegaULoaders, one on each arm, to activate a Grimm + Sanzo combo
>An actual Necrom Ghost Eyecon to activate the Ghost sound on the Loader (kind of like how type Next was able to be a thing despite Mach's Signal Bike being the only one that should activate that sound in the Drive Driver)
The first would potentially make Bandai and Toei more money. The second would be the cheapest. Both would work with the weird limitations the MegaULoader has.
Nope, from what I checked with Gaim a week or two back they still have DX ones here and there, and the DX ones can be pretty cheap. The only sucky part is if you want Energy stuff, then it gets pretty expensive, especially with a DX Lemon.
I made a shit post image
I'm not saying all the DX ones are cheap, Grape used to be in the $80-100 range and now it's around $50-60, Watermelon used to be $40+ and now it's $20, Peach is still the same, Cherry went up a bit, Mango, Kiwi, and Strawberry dropped from being $40 each, anything from the movies is still around $24ish, and so on. They're way cheaper than they used to be for most of the retail stuff.
ZONE MAXIMUM DRIVE
ACCEL, BIRD, CYCLONE, DUMMY, ETERNAL, FANG, GENE, HEAT, ICE AGE, JOKER, KEY, LUNA, METAL, NASCA, OCEAN, PUPPETEER, QUEEN, ROCKET, SKULL, TRIGGER, UNICORN, VIOLENCE, WEATHER, XTREME, YESTERDAY, MAXIMUM DRIVE
ETERNAL: MAXIMUM DRIVE
You need a better font for these. Also Eternal is still my favorite movie rider
ZONE MAXIMUM DRIVE
ETERNAL: MAXIMUM DRIVE
How often does that even happen for them to go through the trouble? Supposedly whatever Takeru's dad did was a breakthrough, I would think at most, he, Saionji (maybe?), Makoto, and Kanon are probably the only ones who have been able to even GET there. And of those, Ryu and Saionji were the only possible threats, unless they were genuinely worried about small children invading them. Makoto could have raised a stink maybe but he was 8, not exactly a though contender for actual threat to Hell. Not to mention the royal family apparently actively took care of them.
Perhaps Makoto became a problem later, once Kanon died and he became a Rider but even then, he's only one person, and based on what we've seen he's no match for multiple Ganma at a high level. Only recently could he beat Javel on his own, and even that was a task that took the entire episode and getting a new form.
making it inspired me to sit down and watch the movie finally.
It was actually pretty good. He did literally nothing wrong.
The harmonica scene was probably my favorite.
I'll edit it with a better font later
Keep in mind that the more worrying thing is the fact it ate Yurusen and made her into the Shaman Eyecon.
I can also see Aran facepersona-ing when the Riders come to him for help.
W returns Eternal
I thought it was weak, mostly cause the idea of trying to roll back on Eternal actions which were pretty fucking evil. And they focused too hard on that girl who became heat, she didn't seem at all like her previous character and nothing brought her to that state unlike say eternal himself.
But I still found it enjoyable, because even when I hate it, I still find myself a sucker for when they make bad guys good. Even if it's in a poorly written way.
Guess I'm just a shitter
I've seen it twice now and both times it was basically an hour of me thinking "why am I supposed to care?" for an hour straight. They just expected Eternal to carry the movie entirely on being popular and forgot to make the plot interesting or consequential.
The short version is that a weird magic kid (I forget exactly why he was special but I know it was dumb) warps reality so that instead of fighting, people settle disputes with soccer. But really they stop playing soccer and go back to killing each other after like 20 minutes.
well you forgot to add they go back to killing each other because guest actor number 25 came in all regal n shit and when he's here people turn into rotten plants when they die.
Also they settle this with a horse battle (one guy having a giant flaming skeleton horse) and CG heavy soccer match except they try to disguise the soccer match as an actual battle using the CGI.
Oh and everything was a dream.
>Mars Shin will never be in second season of Gaim
>nor will Hikari Arms Ryugen
>tfw you'll never see Micchy fight against the Valhalla organization and their plot to merge Earth with Helheim
Medic got the best IV bags in all of Rider. They aren't saggy or look like a orange in a stocking.
Only like the first 10 minutes of the movie are about soccer - and then it's referenced again in the final battle. The movie's problem is hardly the soccer bits, it's everything else.
The movie spends a lot of screentime focusing on a civil war between Bravo's mercenaries and Yggdrazil's troops that just goes nowhere.
You've also got a movie villain that can't even beat Kachidoki and Kiwami Gaim, undermining the entire final battle. And before that final battle there's a pointless brainwashing plot on Gaim that just lasts one scene. The Silver Rider also only appears in one scene, and doesn't even fight properly.
The entire thing is just badly planned and thrown together.
Mars needed to be strong enough to make everyone team up to stop him, because as it stands in the movie the final team up feels pointless since he couldn't even beat Gaim by himself.
Also, Mars really should just have used Yuuya as his human form, since that'd give some extra drama. Forget the old actor.
The civil war could be there, but only if it was a way to convince everyone to team up rather than just getting them into a plot that seemed straight out of Super Hero Taisen and that had nothing to do with the preceding battle. Make the characters split into three groups with different goals for the golden fruit, rather than just randomly go crazy and then get taken out of the game.
The silver Rider could have attempted to stop Mars in the final battle and then died for real there, giving his lockseed to Gaim for a movie-only power up.
I don't see a hat on this detective.
>implying Shotaro's hat wasn't the sole reason he was able to beat Utopia in hand to hand combat
Never underestimate the power of the hat.
>Their leader is professor Owari Kodoko
>Kodoko is the new Mars
>Creates energy lockseeds for a Kurokage secret police
>Uses Golden energy lockseed
>Sonic Volley attack is a reference to the feat performed by William tell, every result is a headshot
Jesus christ, Ryuki. What the fuck was that?
>latest two episodes of Hibiki from Metronome
Y'know, one thing I really like about Asumu's character is that he's got flaws, but they're realistic flaws for an eighth-grade kid. Rider in general has some pretty shitty kid characters, but this is one of the most realistically written kid characters in any series I've seen in a long while.
I'm not looking forward to the retool, but this has been a lot of fun so far.
He literally does a Rider Punch/Rider Kick combo finisher like Black. He is a Kamen Rider Black homage, anon. That's actually why he had an all-white outfit with white gloves in KRT.
He only did that once, in MegaMax. In his initial appearance in Gaia Memories of Fate, he used a Rider Kick against the Heat Dopant and a Rider Punch against the Metal Dopant. He only used them in succession in MegaMax. Also, both techniques were originally used by Rider 1 and Rider 2 in the first place.
Besides, W himself is effectively a fusion of Rider 1 and Rider 2. The Soul Memories are all "power" types, while the Body Memories are all "technical" types.
>He only did that once, in MegaMax
He also did it in the actual show, against Amatocatlosustgkhfajhk Dopant. Hell, the CG for the Rider Punch is just a purple flamey version of Black's where it's a white silhouette of his fist and fingers. It's also considered his "Official" finisher, going by the Climax Heroes and Battride War games.
There's multiple references to multiple Riders in W, not just 1 and 2, why are yo having such a hard time handling that Kamen Rider Joker is meant to be a Kamen Rider Black homage?
It's not meant to be more than an aesthetic similarity, anon. His suit looks similar, his attacks look similar, and the actor flat out said it was based on his favorite Rider. Quit being autistic.
Hence why I said "In terms of application". What the hell did you think I meant by this? "Application" means "how he performs". His performance. His skillset. General ability-wise. Stats.
...And? He's still meant to be a Kamen RIder Black homage.
Kamen RIder Blade's all about swords but he flails around like a retard even though he's apparently trained a fuckton and doesn't git gud until his final form, don't look too much into it.
Anon, I mean. The Blade system is all about swords, it's Kenzaki himself is fucking terrible with swords. Have you seen him punch shit tho ? He's really good at punching. That'd be dumb if he was trained at punching shit and not slash n stab like he's do with a sword but you never know, in that universe the Human Undead managed to win the Battle Fight so after that I accept everything.
But yeah no need to overthink stuff.
>in that universe the Human Undead managed to win the Battle Fight so after that I accept everything.
People tend to fucking forget the Human Undead wasn't just some dude waddling around. He was an incredibly powerful psychic that made the Joker Undeads, the two Undead who literally represented death, nihilism, and the fucking apocalypse, scared for their lives because he was able to do shit able to instantly seal Undead. Hajime gets fucking terrified the first time he ever sees him even though all he's doing is walking around and smiling ominously in blue jeans.
Why was he just a Category 2? Category 2s are usually the weakest Undead. No one ever really expects Categories 2~10 to really accomplish everything. It's the Jacks, Queens, Kings, Aces and Jokers who are the real problems.
Categories were rated on physical strength, last I heard. Most likely the Human Undead wasn't able to go fist-to-fist with anyone else. Instead he just used psychic bullshit that broke down Undead and had the Monolith or whatever it was instantly arrive to seal them.
Rider Fight (power boost, later becomes Rider 2's henshin pose) has been confirmed for the movie.
Well Sasaki was there to sit in for Fujioka until his return. It's not like he has no other jobs to work on at the time.
Who would have thought being the body double of Rider 1 would ended up sticking around till the end. Stealing 1 or 2 iconic poses from his buddy isn't really too much to ask for.
You know what? I think Kamen Rider in general really needs some better villains.
>Grongi: Retarded warrior race who existed solely to kill humans. Also they had internal rules which forced them to go only one at a time. As a species, the Grongi were incredibly nonsensical. They were basically Predators only much more retarded.
>Smart Brain: To be honest, it's hard to understand what they were actually trying to do. Yes, they were trying to give rise to the Arc Orphenoch, but 90% of their actions had literally nothing to do with that. Things could have gone so much smoother for them had they just written off the Rider Gears as lost causes and focused solely on finding their king.
>Undead: Conceptually, they're kind of okay, but because they were inherently scattered and largely unwilling to cooperate with one another, they turned out to be rather lame villains. If organization is a key factor to the threat level of an enemy, then the Undead were relatively low on the scale.
>Sonozakis: Were really kind of ineffectual and incompetent in the grand scheme of things.
>Greeed: They literally had no real goal prior to Doctor MAAki joining their ranks.
>Zodiarts: Basically less-competent Sonozakis.
>Phantoms: The least competent bunch of retards in the history of Rider.
>Overlords: They might have been better if there were more than just a small handful of them, but as things stood they really didn't stand a chance, especially since they got involved AFTER Kouta received the Kachidoki Lockseed.
>Roidmudes: They could have been like Worms, but instead they were ultimately just slightly more incompetent Greeeds.
>>Greeed: They literally had no real goal prior to Doctor MAAki joining their ranks.
Not to mention the fact they didnt seem to mind helping someone whose stated goal included murdering them all eventually
Making Rider villians is tricky with the format, you have to give them a plan flexible and vague enough to survive getting Rider kicked every week
>They literally had no real goal prior to Doctor MAAki joining their ranks.
They had a goal: to complete themselves. The problem was they were beings of pure desire, so by nature they were never satisfied and eventually wanted to gain power endlessly, which ended up fucking them all. All of which was a big metaphor to Maki's ideology. Once they were complete, they were perfect. But continuing to exist and indulging in desire leads to impurity. The end of all things, and therefore the end of desire, is the only way to preserve perfection.
They were flawed villains, sure, but around the time Maki showed up is when they started to lose sight of their goal, not the other way around. But by that point though, Maki started taking the forefront as the villain, replacing the need for their main ambitions.
Most of your other examples are retarded too, but my love for OOO urged me to defend that first.
>tfw no Nemesis-style Rider monster who always just appears out of fucking nowhere randomly - from start to end his appearances are never hinted at even in magazines until the first episode with him airs
>is Keroboros Undead-tier invincible, just busts out of nowhere and basically convinces the lead Rider to just fucking run because he's not gonna finish that guy off no matter how many shiny toys he's got, and will even kill fellow monsters to get to the Rider
>the reasoning for not just sicking said monster on everyone else is basically making it an uncontrollable element that just wants to kill the lead Rider
>never turns good, never dies until the very end, just a constant malevolent force that intimidates everyone involved
The issue isn't their ideology. The problem is they weren't very big threats. They were dangerous, but they seem small-time, or their methods could have been better. There's rarely a strong feeling of crisis, like they're capable of something truly terrible. The villains often tend to be too scattered or too incompetent to be able to do any real damage.
>Zodiarts: Basically less-competent Sonozakis
If anything, they were MORE competent versions of the Sonozakis, and at least they had a more clear goal. The Sonozaki Gaia Impact plan was so fucking nonsensical and convoluted. Gamou just wanted to meet aliens, man.
>The problem is they weren't very big threats
It was a bit irritating how much them becoming complete was built up as a massive thing, but they mostly just jobbed when they finally did
Although thats a problem with Rider badguys in general usually
The problem was that the Zodiarts' activities were basically the same as the Sonozakis', only on a much smaller scale. The Sonozaki's magic superpower drug ring encapsulated an entire city. The Zodiarts' magic superpower drug ring was limited to a single school. A school that they personally owned and ran. It was a school, approximately the size of a standard university, that they owned and controlled. You know what's REALLY stupid? Literally the only reason that they didn't know Fourze's identity was because they couldn't be assed to install VIDEO CAMERAS ON THE CAMPUS, like literally any other sensible school.
Well, that's because they weren't the main threat. Again, by nature they were very aimless creatures who just wanted MORE, MORE, MORE! Maki was the dangerous one, who wanted to put that power to use in ending the world.
Rider villains can never be TOO "big time" because at a certain point, the lack of government intervention becomes ridiculous. Gaim is one of the only series that has ever addressed this, and for that I give Kudos.
I'm planning on buying a Drive Belt, but I must ask. Is pic related an actual thing I can shove together? Because if it is, I need to figure out which specific shift cars I need.
>Literally the only reason that they didn't know Fourze's identity was because they couldn't be assed to install VIDEO CAMERAS ON THE CAMPUS
Pretty sure they did know his identity, he didnt try to hide it and transformed in front of them all the time. Not many Riders bother with a secret identity to their villians
Them not knowing Meteors identity though, that was dumb
Hooking Wrecker, Deco Traveler, Burning Solar - Gashapon
Massive Monster - Shift Car Set 1
Rumble Dump - Shift Car Set 3
Rolling Gravity - Shift Car Set 4
Leon managed to assemble it once. Can;t be bothered to find the video.
That's one thing that was great about older Rider shows. The government WAS involved. There was a fucking Interpol agent involved.
Having the government get involved and ultimately fail would be a great way to show why Riders are necessary. Because the human government can't handle a threat of this nature. That's why Karate Bugmen have to pick up the slack.
The original series actually kind of does that with Ganikomoru, although just for 3 episodes. During those he generally just appears out of nowhere and attacks Rider 1, with him being unable to win every single time, just escaping. They make it clear that it doesn't work for Shocker too. Afterwards, then we get it killing Shocker troops... but right in the same episode Geldam and Gel-Shocker are revealed, alongside its true identity.
Even then the episode ends with Rider 1 and Ganikomoru seemingly destroying each other in a final duel, both exploding in mid air - although obviously Rider 1 reappears alive midway through the next episode.
Black RX actually had Japan's self-defense forces getting their ass kicked in the final arc before the Riders popped up to take care of the Crisis invasion, but I guess something like that would be problematic nowadays somehow. I don't think Toei has ever shown the self defense forces in anything modern, just police at best. IIRC, the only military presence that actually appears on screen in Gaim was foreign.
I was actually thinking of Ganikomol when I was writing the post, but I was thinking less "There's not even a fight after the first go, he just fucking bails" and the only real proper fights happen when someone who doesn't know about it encounters it - and the only successful fight being vague with him just being knocked over a ledge or something without a visible explosion.
>the Zodiarts' activities were basically the same as the Sonozakis', only on a much smaller scale.
That's because they had a more focused plan. They didn't NEED scale to complete their goal. Gamou was a an astronaut after all; a scientist. His plan was conducted like a controlled experiment. His goal also wasn't world domination, eradication, purification, or mass destruction. He just wanted to make contact with other worldly beings, even if it meant the annihilation of Japan. But that wasn't his goal perse, just a side effect of what he saw as a greater achievement.
Basically, the Zodiarts were a very different kind of villainous force and the scale of their goals doesn't really compare to many other series.
Are we forgetting how in Fourze there was a black hole over Japan, in Wizard everyone in Japan nearly got fucking sacrificed, in Gaim America got carpet bombed, and Banno damn near perma-froze the world?
Decade actually killed all the Riders for a while. Several worlds were already destroyed. In the first episode alone, and entire city was being completely overrun by monsters and civilians died on-screen.
