stay calm and thumbs up
I really don't want to bring this up again, but Is Yongou's scrub of Kabuto good? I don't want to wait for Metronome (especially since Hibiki has priority, I have already seen Kabuto, I mostly want to watch for the higher quality raws
The best edition
Personally I loved Dragon. Same with >>13867718 I thought Pegasus was pretty lame.
That form was entirely worth just for this scene
They also never fight with their default hoods up.
I was so excited when Ghost was about a hoodie rider.
The side of his face with the mole is facing away from the screen
Looks like art consistency wasn't one of his 2000 skills
reminder he used to work for Golgom
I don't know, I found the extra sensory thing quite interesting to watch Godai balance and deal with. More so than weaker punches.
But design-wise yeah Titan's my favorite.
If you mean the Den-O forms, then yeah I'll happily take Dragon if it meant Urataros would exist.
It's not the extrasensory part that I didn't like, it just didn't seem as cool as Dragon or Titan.
I love Kuuga and all its forms, so really I'd say that Pegasus is my least favorite, I guess
Well, yes and no. There's a widespread myth that spectators at gladiatorial fights would give a thumbs up to spare the loser and a thumbs down to kill him (in actuality, the sign to spare the loser involved tucking the thumb inside the fist.)
There's more info on that and hypotheses of where the thumbs-up gesture came from here: http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2014/10/give-thumbs-gesture-get-start/
I remember he turned into a prehistoric fish bastard and prompt blew up in a tunnel along with his legion of scientist androids, thus ensuring the escape of the hypnotised women and child soldiers.
Titan actually stabbed instead of just grazing against monsters to make sparks.
>literally can't handle watching more then one thing at once, or even like watching more then one thing at once unless its like a movie or something.
>i've been watching kamen rider for almost a year with an end close in sight.
>unless i chose to watch showa in which case i'm staying here alot longer.
So I can see Ryouma, Edison, and Musashi. Can you guys spot any other souls?
That's just to show which soul is being used at the moment.
My point is "maybe not." The forearm pads and hip armor have the same kind of design as his chest- flat black with a gold outline shaped similarly to Ghost/Specter's helmets. And I can clearly see Nobunaga's gun symbol on the hip. So I think the chest symbol won't change, he just has all the symbols somewhere on his body.
It would be shitty if the chest symbol changed since the toy probably won't have 15 interchangeable chests.
>You now realise that Onari looks like he has wings consisting of Kiriko and Akari's asses in that picture.
>yfw you will never unsee it.
>They never take off their suits.
Well guys its time we are almost done because now we have gone past Decade and are now in our current era of heisei from W - Ghost (If that thing ever gets an insert that is)
Just incase you wanted to know who has won so far
I was thinking about making an album consisting of songs from every Kamen Rider season. I will probably be very hard, because early showa songs wouldn't work most of the time, but I'll do my best.
The white trim on the blue hood. It doubles as Newton and Tut. Edison's antennae are on Ryouma's horns.
Jesus Christ, these are real people we're talking about. This is unbelievable.
Sometimes I think about that. It's somehow not too out of place, as I was sort of expecting it to be a bit cringey about it in the beginning but it's done pretty well.
Still sometimes gets weird to think about how
an 18 year old Japanese boy sometimes wears Thomas Edison or Isaac Newton's soul, and these souls are sentient and trapped in phylacteries/pokeballs. Like, Newton is inside a pokeball. What the fuck
mfw this playing in the next tab https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_37A0teJOJg
Would you rather use the Ghost Driver or the Mega Loader to fight?
And for fun, let's say the Loader can say all the voices now.
What I don't get is why it's just everyone's base form (and Boost) when every other form keeps the hoods up. Obviously they have a way of keeping the hoods from falling off in fights.
It's because having the base forms be hood down and all the Heroic Spirits be hood up is kind of a neat touch. The hoods are up when they're "wearing" the power of another person but when they're using their own they show their "faces" more.
Because the hoods imply they're overcome with that form's power.
For Ore, Specter, and Necrom, whe nthey're used by their respective Riders they're just using their own power.
That's why Specter Necrom Damashii has the hood up.
so I found this on tumblr and I was wondering: did he ever actually do this in the show or is this just a magazine thing?
Fucking hell, I still don't like it, but the more I look at it, the more I respect it for cramming so much shit into the helmet design.
>The Musashi headband is also Billy the Kid's Hatband with bullets
>Musashi tail has been combined with Nobunaga's and the feather from Robin Hood
>Beethoven sidepieces as the little spurs on the sides
>Newton quilting as armored ridges in the middle, with a little bit of Billy's hat
>Benkei and Goemon's hats fused in the center, maybe Grimm's Nib as well with the weird circular shape in it
>Himiko's weirdass hair ornaments/side panels connecting the horns to the headband
>Sanzo's crown in black as another set of horns? Can't really tell without a side view
And despite all that work, it still looks so mediocre.
Kiriko in that ad was a fucking reaction image goldmine.
I really like the idea of G3. It's like robocop meets kamen rider.
Best line of the entire show was when he saw Shouichi on his way to an Unknown fight and instead of putting two and two together like literally every other character at that point, he was like "Slow down Shouichi, you're speeding!" Fucking gold.
There were too many good lines between Hikawa and Shouichi. I was laughing anytime they hung out together.
I can see Beethoven's wig ears near the bottom. No Grimm or Sanzo for this angle though.
From this Grateful is pretty much confirmed to be an entirely new Transient as opposed to just a new jacket, ala Kiwami?
Way too much focus on toys that aren't even decent toys
Suits 95% bad, with a couple of standouts
Actions scenes are boring for the franchise, wire scenes which could have made it interesting are way too infrequent
No sense of character urgency
The only good character is an old fuck that dresses up differently
Whilst Gaim puts in all his gimmicks while loud music and voices blare from his gears, Rider 1 just puts his fists up. This is enough to make Gaim go "Welp, fuck it, nevermind, you'd probably kill me."
Rather than the retarded flower thing, it has Gaim charging up an attack with the Musou Saber only for him to drop it when he (and by extension, us after Narutaki explains) that Rider 1 was waiting for him to reach 100% strength. So basically it's just as retarded.
>Suits 95% bad
I always fucking hear this but I don't get it. No one ever explains WHY most of the suits are bad. Boost's is the only justified one since it's a very vibarnt red, which I know is unattractive. Otherwise it's just "IT'S NEW I HATE IT"
Remember when literally everyone said Type Speed looked like shit?
Remember when literally everyone said Orange Arms looked like shit?
It's not nearly as stupid though, since the whole wanting to see their full power works much better as an explanation for the final battle than just "old men are angry and forgot the power of gentleness" explanation from the Heisei ending
>mfw when I like everything
Except Ixa Rising, Saver, and Tyrant.
Boost only starts to get problematic because when it form changes the red doesn't go with every other color the way black does. Default Boost is pretty good and I could see it working really well with any of the coats that are red or darker colors like Musashi and Beethoven.
I recently made my first rider related purchase.
Part of that order has now come in.
Sweet, the purple pair. Are you looking forward to Deep Specter?
Mr. Tajima from Ishimori Pro. has been giving you all the hero suit designs and gimmick ideas ever since Fourze.
/krg/ should have thanked him for all the great jobs.
Part of me wants to rewatch Decade. Is TV-N still the only option for the full series, or did someone scrub or re-sub it?
So Grateful Dead, the mid-season form, requires an entirely new belt, while the final form is just another Eyecon for the old Ghost Driver.
Shouldn't that be the other way around? What's the point of making a whole new belt that'll become almost useless once the final form shows up?
>Somebody WAS, but they started (and gave up) at the Hibiki arc.
If you're referring to the anon who timed a few episodes, that was me, and I timed a Dark Riders episode too.
But I don't actually know how to fix the dialog and such.
I think I changed most of them afterward. Not that it would do much without most of the dialog.
The closest you'll get to seeing any of those is probably from Ganbarizing
He looks like he tears his way into people's nightmares to hunt down Ganma, and I'm into that spook factor.
I just file it under the same category of toy as the DJ Gun and the Formula Cannon. Makes things easier for my poor brain.
so, Makoto is a Ganman as well, right?
I'm not completely caught up on Ghost yet, but that's the vibe I'm getting.
So, all I can assume is he's giving into his Ganma side to obtain that power.
Ding ding ding. After Wizard they decided that final form weapons don't sell, so they've been avoiding them like the plague ever since. It's the exact same logic behind Ninninger's big mech being moved to second-to-last when they always used to be the last mech in the line.
So what would happen if you used the Ghost Driver and the Megalouder at the same time?
It has a pretty trash first episode and episodes 2-6 are weak, packing two-episode arc plots into one episode's worth of space and feeling cramped and rushed as a result. Episode 7 is the first episode with decent pacing or story progression of any sort, and then 8 and 9 are okay. 10 is where the show finally gets its act together, and everything since then has been very solid.
I take whoever dubs first. Once OT subs it, I'll watch it again.
>I thought I couldn't hate you anymore
The sun will still rise tomorrow, friendo.
>That's how you get Ore+Specter
Kamen Rider Ghost-Car
This is a part of my childhood that I DON'T want to revisit!
>You must be Yongou to point out retarded statements!
Kill yourself. We have no fucking reference at the moment to prove whether or not his subs are accurate other than your foaming at the mouth loathing of him.
It's not like Imagination-Station where we get actual translators who do work against them and then proceed to show their incompetence.
>It's not like Imagination-Station where we get actual translators who do work against them and then proceed to show their incompetence.
Is there an analysis available anywhere? I remember hearing something like that but without much detail.
>Way too much focus on toys that aren't even decent toys
I'll agree there's a bit too much focus, but god damn, I've been collecting the entire DX line and I love it all. I don't understand the hate, because in hand I think everything is so much fun. Especially the Gangun Saber. Seriously the best DX weapon we've gotten in years.
I don't think there's much pro fan translators, timers, QCers or otherwise that get time to explain the issues regarding them. They're either busy (Corin, sky79), reclusive to public contact (KouAidou), insane (Magenta) or simply have other things to be concerned about (Shourikan, MegaAnon).
The Musou Saber was decent, but has nowhere near the play value of the Gangun. The thing has four forms on it's own, each with different colored lights, sounds, and a unique finisher. PLUS it combines with four extra toys that each create a new weapon, sound, and attack. Fuck off with that Musou Saber nonsense.
Neither of those things make up for the lack of play functionality it has by comparison. I'll agree that the Musou Saber is far better than the Sunglasslasher or Gangun Hand, but the Gangun Saber is still tops in my book. Looks way better as a weapon too, in my opinion.
Tell me, if for one season of Rider, the main Rider, the one kids are supposed to look up to, the one we believe is the hero, turns out to be the main villain, would you say it is a good change of pace?
So I've been away from /krg/ stuff for a while for reasons that are entirely my fucking job
Why has OL stopped doing Den-O (a show that had no one else offerng decent subs) to keep releasing Ghost each week (which O-T was already doing)?
Wasn't the one thing they said when they started doing Ghost was that it wouldn't interfere with Den-O?
That would be pretty swell, I think. Of course I don't think they should start as the main villain, but if they end up becoming the big bad that the secondary has to defeat to save the world, it would be a nice shift from the norm.
That's basically what I want to see. Not anything like Decade >>13869143 >>13869149 but something more like that year's collectible is actually the main hero's powers split and once they're all gathered he begins to show his true face.
It would probably kill ratings for sure
Again, Decade. Every time he had all the Kamen Ride cards, he went full Hakaisha - to the point he was strnoger WITHOUT the K-Touch than he was with it. Violent Emotion was capable of chasing down everyone with just the Dimension Kick, it's crazy shit.
But that was just a whole movie dedicated to it, with it starting at the end of the transition as well. I want to see the full on face turn with the secondary Rider deciding what he should do as well as the support characters.
You know, actual related drama that isn't WAH MY BOYFRIEND WENT EVIL WITHOUT ME coming from Kaito
You could have his true face slip a bit once in a while with it being subtle. Like having it being seen rude. The main character could be a hothead so that it would seem in character
Is that what Code Geass is? Thank god I never watched it then.
I think the problem with Decade and the plot anon wants is the fact, we knew Decade was evil. We knew, and we were just waiting for it to happen. I think that anon just wants it to come out of nowhere or disregarded as nothing until the reveal happens.
Also nice dubs/trips
>We knew, and we were just waiting for it to happen
But we didn't. The original plan was Decade in the TV show and the Sekai no Hakaisha were separate AR folk, like Onodera and Godai.
The promos before the show start literally call Decade the Destroyer of Worlds. Fuck, the whole show started to Decade KILLING EVERY SINGLE
HeiseiRIDER. I'm pretty sure the general consensus was Decade was evil and the show we're watching is just the build up for the Rider War.
Except the plan was at the end it was revealed it wasn't Tsukasa who was going to do it - it was going to be an alternate reality Decade that Narutaki was warning everyone about and Natsumelon foresaw.
Holy shit, you cannot read. I am saying that during the period where we knew NOTHING ABOUT PRODUCTION. NOTHING ABOUT THE CHANGES IN THE PLOT. NOTHING ABOUT POST-PRODUCTION. WE ALREADY KNEW TSUKASA WAS MEANT TO BE EVIL.
I, the anon here >>13869206 and here >>13869175 and here >>13869141, want to see a Rider where we are to believe he is good but then it is reveal he is the true villain of the show.
Holy fuck, you must be trolling me for being this ignorant
Well. I'd like to see that in a way that's sort of like Dickaid done right.
Like the main was once this super god-mode evil bastard and a hero sacrificed himself to shatter his power and memories into several parts and seal them away within items. The bad guys who were backstabbing motherfuckers under the evil king's leadership want to find these items and use their power to take his empty throne. The main guy having no memory of his evil past coincidentally gets caught up in working with the heir to the original hero who defeated him. Their goal is to collect these scattered items so that they're kept away from the villains, but doing so is unknowingly completing the main's former self. I'm sure if done right there would be a way to preserve the reveal too, but maybe that's asking too much of the writers.
>the period where we knew NOTHING ABOUT PRODUCTION. NOTHING ABOUT THE CHANGES IN THE PLOT. NOTHING ABOUT POST-PRODUCTION. WE ALREADY KNEW TSUKASA WAS MEANT TO BE EVIL.
I didn't see Decade as it aired, but wouldn't most people have assumed that he'd turn out good simply because the unlikeliness for this kind of franchise would have a season where the main character was the villain?
All Riders vs Dai-Shocker was made before we got the modified Movie Wars 2010 which originally would have the 2nd Decade. Tsukasa himself always was supposed to be evil. The other Tsukasa from the original Decade vs All Riders probably would just be a mirror that stayed evil.
Is this what they call method acting?
People have mentioned that Fujioka loves armor, and I noticed this picture on the movie promo website. Does it look like he's wearing a different suit of armor on the left there? It's not his new Rider 1 suit, but it's not the black jacket he's been seen wearing in other shots either. I'd say it's not your average motorcycle gear, would Fujioka really have some special motorcycle armor just for shits?
To be honest the music they use during the show already sounds like an insert without the lyrics. No one can tell me they can't hear Toukan Boost, Ore, Spectre, and Houdini's themes without saying "I bet that would sound awesome with some lyrics thrown in"
I may still be on the fence about Chou-Neo-Super-Goodlifts-Rider 1, but the new Cyclone is fucking baller looking.
Anyone know if they're still doing Gaim Gaidens, or have they finally put the fruity warlords to rest?
They included a link to a poll with Gaim Gaiden 2 for which riders to make the next one about, but it was phrased as "if we do a Gaim Gaiden 3." Presumably the determining factor will be sales. Personally I could take it or leave it, since so far none of them have been anywhere near the quality level of the actual show. Even with good writing, it'd be hard to make up for the pitiful budget. How many fucking repaints of the apple suit do we really need?
Nigga did you really reference that?
>with a single thrust Alain put his ball into Makoto's case
>Makoto couldn't resist the sensation and passed out
>Alain smiled with full satisfaction. He finally has Makoto as his loyal puppet
DON'T DO THIS TO MEEE.
I want my secret fetishes out of my rider
So, now that all 15 eyecons are found AGAIN, what are they going to do to keep kids coming back?
Isn't it too early to release another form? And after that, what else is there besides his final form?
What the fuck is happening in Ghost, man
Next 20 episodes will be Ghost VS Specter. Specter will steal the eyecons one by one. Kanon will sacrifice her human form to break Makoto being controlled. Her soul will awaken Deep Specter.
Wait, hold up. That was the original idea? For their to be a second, evil Decade? That...actually makes sense. Hell, that Dark Rider episode could have been foreshadowing for it. Why the hell didn't Toei do that instead of the clusterfuck ending we did get?
Because of executive decisions.
Originally, Decade's finale movie was supposed to be entirely just a Decade movie. But the higher ups decided to turn it into a double-feature, forcing massive rewrites.
Decade still had the potential to have a halfway decent ending, but that whole "Movie War" thing fucked everything over.
God no. I hope not. They better not be watching us.
>Takeru becomes God
>Makoto becomes the king of demons
has his wish granted to live as a human and grows old eating takoyaki every week and being glad he can pig out instead of deal with his stupid demon family
>he dies at the ripe old age of 90
>when he returns to the Ganma world he torments Makoto for ever giving up humanity and he never shuts up about being human ever
>"also I fucked your sister, a lot"
>Faiz DVD box
What if in the end Takeru comes back to life, Alan becomes human, and Makoto becomes the Ganma king. Then at the end of the series there's a montage where Takeru and Alan both live happy lives to their fullest and die peaceful, natural deaths. Then the final shot in the series is the three of them finally reuniting in the afterlife.
And everyone watching cries buckets.
Since Ryu basically fused his soul with Takeru's the Old Man said that if he collects the 15 Eyecons again, the wish might be able to bring the both of them back at once. Did you forget that?
He was misleading you a certain amount, since in that show the protagonist isn't really villainous either. Geass has more of an anti-hero than a typical Rider show, but it's not like kids are supposed to look up to him or that the audience is surprised by this. It's lesser evil vs. greater evil, not the hero is secretly the villain.
If you created a category dedicated exclusively to pink Riders, it would be composed entirely of Decade and Marika.
Is this really okay? Why is this allowed?
There won't be a Decade 2. The Movie War series and yearly crossovers pretty much makes the concept of an anniversary-specific Rider obsolete. And a Rider who can transform into other Riders is also rendered pointless thanks to the Legend Rider concept. Toei and Bamco have pretty much made it so that there's really no point to creating another Decade at all.
Is this thing baically the Wizardriver and Axecalibur for girls?
When Decade transforms into another Rider, he's basically mimicking the Rider's power utilizing the information stored inside his card and the duplicating their power source using the six elemental stones on his belt. So when he transforms into Kuuga, his belt creates a perfect copy of the Arcle's power. It's as if Tsukasa is temporarily wearing the Arcle and using its power to transform.
So if Decade transformed into Malika, it'd just be as if he used the Peach Energy Lockseed on a Genesis Driver.
What do you think the chances of a Decade 2.0 ever happening are?
I'd like to see it, but I don't see how they could pull it off since they'd need to make it last as long as a normal Rider season so it wouldn't throw off their staggered Rider/Sentai schedule.
None. As already stated, there's no need for a Decade 2.0. Movie Wars plus annual crossover films plus Legend Rider forms make it pointless. Past Riders return so often that there is really no reason to dedicate an entire show to revisiting past Riders.
So, what the fuck even was going on with the plot of Surprise Future? Whatever, I can dismiss all of the time travel paradox bullshit because Kamen Rider NEVER handles that kind of thing properly. But what about the original Drive Driver going berserk? Why the fuck did that happen? Was it part of 108's ruse? If so, when and how the fuck was he able to infect Krim with some kind of virus? I'm so confused.
Also. Did they REALLY just pull another "Chase dies, but it's OK because he got better" thing, again? That's just insulting. If this fucker is so indestructible and inexplicably death proof, why the actual hell was Banno able to actually kill him in the show? The answer is that there is no answer, and that is SO bullshit. How did Drive in the end turn out so well overall when the writers in charge of continuity were actually THIS fucking retarded? Somehow all other aspects of the show, for me at least, redeem the fact that the plot itself is absolutely fucking trash. And that alone is a god damn parlor trick if I've ever seen one.
You have good taste anon, I feel the same.
I had a thing for Virgo from Fourze, but then episode 40 happened and I was very sad.
Wagon is so perfect.
But he apparently didn't die any of those other times he blew up either, so my point is no different. The fact that Chase could take such a beating and even miraculously survived his core exploding once, but still some how got destroyed for real by Banno just because the plot demanded it and for no other explainable reason is pure, all natural, unconcentrated, no added preservatives, 100% JuicyJuice BULLSHIT.
Gou had his ass kicked by his dad. Only the sacrifice of his friend could trigger a victory flag for him
All movies are written BEFORE the TV episodes are on air. Even for the same writer he has no ducking what exactly will be on TV by the time the movie is released.
Do not try to connect plot lines because there isn't much of a connection. Even if there is a thin line it is just there by luck.
>e plot of Surprise Future? Whatever, I can dismiss all of the time travel paradox bullshit because Kamen Rider NEVER handles that kind of thing properly. But what about the original Drive Driver going berserk? Why the fuck did that happen?
That was the "surprised" that Banno added to Krim's belt once it was captured in the show. It's mentioned once in the tv series, but receives no follow up since it's meant to be part of the movie's plot. It IS kind of weird that the movie doesn't explain it directly though, but it was confirmed by the Drive Toei site in an update about the connections between the movie and tv show.
Okay. Yeah, I do remember that now and I guess it makes a little sense, but how did 108 know about the surprise Banno added? In the alternate future that the Eiji 108 is from, did Krim actually go berserk and throw the world into chaos? When the Roidmude is explaining how he stole the belt from Eiji in his future, buildings and shit are destroyed and on fire, so I can only assume. Of course the events of this movie rewrote all of that, so it's not like it matters.
Because the show does an incredible job of developing the characters as a team (even Leangle, to a degree by the end). That's what makes Blade so rewarding to stick through.
>Kenzaki goes from being an idiot who's just kind of going along with everything to being an idiot who is willing to sacrifice literally everything to save his friends
>Tachibana grows a pair and finds ghe abilityto put his faith in his friends even if he doesn't trust his own strength
>Hajime finally finds a place where he can be accepted and have a normal life without fighting
> Mutsuki stops being an edgelord bitch
I'm only three episodes in so far but holy shit I can understand when people say the beginning is super garbage. But I really enjoy the suits and Kenzaki seems pretty fun so far despite being a bit of a dick on occasion.
I think Mutsuki didn't really get an ending to his character arc, he just doubts himself like Techibana, but then it's too late and the series ended. My least favorite character, which is a shame because his suit is awesome.
In a way I think he does get an ending. He goes from doubting himself because average high-schooler self-esteem problems and desire to be special to believing and desperately wanting to prove hes the best to finally accepting that its alright for him not to be a special snowflake best whatever and just do whatever he can. Granted its not that much of a difference from his initial portrayal but hey at least he stopped being a dick and seems happier
Mutsuki's arc is all about understanding the purpose of violence and fighting for a hero. He starts out desparately wanting to be a hero but for the wrong reasons, and that makes him fall prey to the Spider undead.
His development mirrors Tachibana's in that sense. Tachibana starts off thinking that fighting is all about proving yourself and getting stronger and it takes SAYOKOOOOOOO to help him understand the importance of protecting those who are NOT strong themselves.
See, Kenzaki knows this all along. It's why he's really the heart and conscience for the rest of them.
I'd start his age from zero
It's not pink, it's magenta you assholes
Spectre's theme is baller as fuck, Necrom's theme is properly sinister, and the general "Takeru's going to kick someone's ass" theme is really hype.
I really want a soubdtrack already too.
>Ghost finally gets an insert
>it's the only one for the entire season
