>Strengthened 5th Form base for the final battle.
What is it with Gundams from Build Fighters onwards having lazy fucking upgrades? We used to get brand new suits midway through the series, and now we just get a new backpack or slightly different armor/colour separation. Are Bandai just being lazy fucking cunts with their gunpla runners or what? Age must've been an even bigger failure than I thought
It sort of looks like when a guy does steroids but his body obviously wasn't built to have that kind of muscle
Also the colour scheme doesn't really work. Feel like they tried to go for unicorn nearly all white and didn't hit it right
Also are the legs bending forward at the back? It looks like the high heels make it lean
>It sort of looks like when a guy does steroids but his body obviously wasn't built to have that kind of muscle
I like it. It makes it clear that they just jam whatever they have on him.
Original character do not steal.
It'd look better if they bulked up the legs and covered up some of the exposed bits. I know that's the "thing" with IBO's designs, but it's kind of hard to believe this is a "full armor" upgrade when the waist is -still- unarmored and there are exposed hoses and joints everywhere. The back is basically one huge target.
The problem is it is anime realism not proper sci fi realism. They just make things rusty, complain a lot and sometimes say oh yeah fuel for plot convenience. Outside that it is as silly if no more so than other gundams
I get what they're trying to do. Barbatos is a Duke of Hell or some shit, so they're trying to make it look intimidating and demonic. But they've fucked it all the fuck up.
>Giant shoulders and "enhanced" chest plate made to make it look bulkier just look unbalanced with that still stick-thin waist
>Upper body is now just a big mass of white
>Those dumb blue shoulder stripes are a pathetic attempt to break up the white and just look out of place, same for the giant blue slabs on the arms, fucking tacky
>Heels are supposed to give Barbatos a devilish look with cloven hooves for feet, but in the end makes it look like it's wearing shoes for a slutty gay clown
>Huge eyesore gray things on the arms give it disproportionate arms, and also add to the disproportionate look of the upper body, while also looking tacked on
>Binders not integrated into the design at all, they stick out like a sore thumb
This literally looks like some dude's shitty first kitbash, with different shoulder armor and chest piece and some weapon pack binders thrown on. The original Barbatos design got a lot of shit but it was promising, it was sleek and mean, with some demonic influence and lots of potential.
This is just sad. It is straight deviantart tier.
It looks like someone too the unicorns chest piece, worked really hard to make shields into shoulders but then got bored so did nothing to the legs but some high heels that make it looks like the legs leen over too far
How can IBO disappoint me more?
Basically 1 good fight in 17 episodes. Constantly off model mecha even though this ties with Turn A for the least amount of Gundam Action, meh upgrades.
It showed so much promise.
Wait, are they seriously going to skip drawing the Tekkadan logo on the chest? That thing is essential, it breaks up the huge mass of white.
Sunrise is just doing thr same shit that happened in the 90s where they keep on having back to back new series on top of OVAs at the same time. They need to slow it fucking down a little to keep the audience, and thenselves, from getting bored of it.
>Is Gundam finally dying?
Not really, it has done pretty well
>Gundam successes in the last few years
Try (in gunpla sales)
Market has hugely expanded in west
VS series is hugely popular in arcades
Try (disk sales)
>Yet to be seen
IBO (leaning towards failure)
So not really, they are doing pretty good.
IBO isn't really Okada, it doesn't make me cringe with every line of dialogue. It's just very bland and stupid instead.
I think Nagai just shat on her every idea like he did with Anohana, but they couldn't rely on just sentimentality, because it's Gundam.
Watching the wixoss movie preview reminded me of how shit Okada is, IBO would have been way worse with full Okada.
AGE being 50 episodes and had a few different lines not just hg and 1/100 make it a bigger loss.
IBO is more was meant to be 00 sized and is instead under greco sized. Won't be as big a fuck up but still pretty bad.
But in general Gundam is doing pretty well
>let's hire two people that knows jack shit about Gundam and see what happens
Sunrise is literally retarded, why can't they find somebody that actually cared or knows Gundam?
There should be a rule that every new creative team must at least watched early UC Gundam before making any new Gundam.
>IBO is more was meant to be 00 sized and is instead under greco sized. Won't be as big a fuck up but still pretty bad.
This. G-Reco and BF had far lower expectations placed on them, from getting weaker timeslots to the different types of merchandise (you couldn't buy mini-towels with Aida or Sei). They weren't expected to be the next SEED or 00, while IBO is. FFS, they secured a dub deal just as it began airing and had HGs on the streets before that.
They want this thing to go but it isn't. Even if it sells better than G-Reco, it's still going to be the one considered a failure.
>But in general Gundam is doing pretty well
It's doing well, but I can't help but feel like they're buying time with the UC rehashes, none of the Gundam that are meant to attract younger audiences seem to be working.
The G-Reco line has been an exercise in runner reuse, so I can't really see them losing that much money over it either.
I mean AGE recycled a shit ton too for its gimmick, but there was still a pretty distinct amount of new stuff.
Pretty much every gundam is meant for a new generation of fans. That's why they keep releasing AU while throwing UC fags a bone now and then to keep the old fans happy.
And saying it sold less gunpla than BF isn't saying much in favor of it being a flop seeing as BF had explosively good gunpla sales to the point where kits were outright selling out everywhere. That would be like saying someone is poor because their yearly salery is lower than a multi-millionaire's.
Ratings are undeniably in the toilet though.
>why can't they find somebody that actually cared or knows Gundam?
They went with big names and assumed it would make easy profit
It isn't buying time when you had 3 successful shows + toy lines, 1 extra successful toy line, an expanding market and a very popular video game. That's much more than other series we'd call successful
The IBO line is a weird one cause I don't think they were able to reuse as much as they thought (like gundam frames and Guison in general). the gunpla will probably have done well enough but anticipated everyone would want so much in hg 1/100 and robot spirit
>People should just watch a thing and they can gain through mystic osmosis the ability to make things just as renowned and as culturally impactful
Guess the right way to teach budding directors is to sit them in front of a back to back screening of Casablanca, Shawshank and Kane and then they'll magically gain the ability to make great films.
>>Watching the wixoss movie preview reminded me of how shit Okada is, IBO would have been way worse with full Okada
It would've been entertaining.
And beind bad while entertaining is sure as hell better than being utterly mediocre while boring.
Which trainwreck? I'm having a hard time from considering it one. Yes the train is wrecked, but its that case wherein the train is just broken and can't move at all
>and had HGs on the streets before that.
Thats pretty common now actually. Its part of the whole timing gunpla releases to cash in on the hype train thing bandai has been doing since AGE. The lead gundam is released before the first episode and the series grunt quickly follows it. Pretty sure build strike, AGE-1, and build burning were all released before their series started.
This. IBO feels like the plot is just beginning. Now. 19 episodes in.
If IBO had been at this point in episode 10 it might have been something. Now the show is almost over and it's like nothing fucking happened.
maybe sunrise should have kept their expectations lowered
>They went with big names and assumed it would make easy profit
I wouldn't really call Okada/Nagai big names, especially since Nagai was hired before Age was even out. He was hired because most of Nagai and Okada shows are about tweens, and they thought it could appeal to their target demo.
>That's why they keep releasing AU while throwing UC fags a bone now and then to keep the old fans happy.
UC fans are the backbone of the franchise's consumer base. Every AU is an experiment, trying to recreate the success of SEED and Destiny in merchandising sales.
>Does Okada even say ANYTHING about this show at all?
G-Reco had Tomino talking and commenting EVERY TIME he got the chance to speak. He was ALWAYS talking about his work, ideas and stuff. What has IBO staff said so far?
That's pretty much what I'm saying. The post I was replying to seemed to be trying to make it seem like ibo and age are special for trying to bring in new fans. Age was only notable because it was trying to breach the elementary school market compared to teen and middle school markets new gundam series usually target.
>trying to recreate the success of Destiny in merchandising sales.
This was something I was actually thinking about when reading the other IBO thread. Gunota are saying over there that the only thing really selling is Barbatos, which sounds a lot like the claims over the years of how aside from Kira and Shinn's kits there was a bunch of unsold Gunpla.
>Only Ogawa and the other Bandai guy that keeps being interviewed or tweeting some shit.
They only bother to interview the decision makers which Okada isn't. She also doesn't have a twitter which is really fucking odd.
>Gunota are saying over there that the only thing really selling is Barbatos, which sounds a lot like the claims over the years of how aside from Kira and Shinn's kits there was a bunch of unsold Gunpla.
The thing is, it is easy to explain why; gunpla sell according to how cool they are IN-show. This is why, normally, when ever you have a new mobile suit showing up, you see it win a fight somehow, somewhere. Against a grunt or even several grunts, is fine. But it needs to do something cool. This despite the fact that it might die in the same episode to the protagonist and is never seen again. In order to sell Gunpla, the kit had to have done at least one thing that was impressive. Just having it in the background won't do. And just giving it a Gundam head won't do either. Protagonist gunpla sells not because they are gundams but because the protagonists do cool things by default.
An example is the Tieren of 00 Gundam. The Tieren are basically grunts, but the first time you see them, they were crushing the much more out of date predecessors in battle. So despite the fact that the Tieren never beat any Gundams, they still had one win on-screen.
Kuroda (00) and Hino (AGE) at this point already commenting about their show while Okada is ZERO.
No interview, commentary at all.
>Why would they interview a scriptwriter?
Because a show main runner should say about their show no matter how "toy centric" it was.
>An example is the Tieren of 00 Gundam. The Tieren are basically grunts, but the first time you see them, they were crushing the much more out of date predecessors in battle. So despite the fact that the Tieren never beat any Gundams, they still had one win on-screen.
Sergei in his Tieren shit all over Setsuna and everyone on /m/ was blowing a load.
A better example would probably have been sazaki and the gyan. He beat sei (who was supposed to terrible at the beginning) and then got shat all over by Reiji.
But the hguc sold out everywhere nearly overnight because sunrise made the gyan look awesome during the fights.
This is a good a way to put it. It's essentially about balance, everyone needs at least one moment to shine. If one side is clearly winning all the time it would also hurt the show, there would no drama or tension making it boring to watch.
I would add, those big into doing modelling don't care about the show what so ever. They care about build quality, how easy to customise and certain things tend to set of a bunch of them (Astrays and designs that have a lot of shit sticking off them). But these are also a smaller group of the total who buy gunpla
>I would add, those big into doing modelling don't care about the show what so ever.
That's true, but you can't stake an entire franchise on serious modellers. Freedom Gundam didn't sell like hot cakes because of them, it sold because it looked cool and tonnes of amateur snap-build people bought them. And these people are those Sunrise could entice by making as many MS in the anime as cool as possible.
Based on 2chan the graze was really popular among gunota. A ton of them appeared in their yearly compilations and there were multiple threads about the kit up at one point.
I can see why seeing how nice the kit is. Its basically a customizer and painters wet dream.
>other scriptwriters being busy interviewed about their shows
>okada: ayy i keep my mouth shut and let other people do the talking
It's like she never cares about IBO to begin with.
So how many episodes is it gonna be? 26?
Kinda sad really, what is the next gundam series? Fucking frozen teardrop? How about they finish Origin and just adapt the rest of the source material?
If they had kept up the shirtless fujo bait shit from the first couple of episodes, they probably would have attracted an audience. Instead they dropped it almost immediately and just lazily plodded along.
so how exactly is this better than the the previous shoulder armour? Please don't tell me its another 'stylistic decision' like not having waist armour.
Also theyre about to get to earth, theyll finally have their feet on the ground again and they give the barbatos the most impractical fucking footwear you can imagine
Barbatos' 1st form had no armor on the shoulders.
That new armor sits over the existing stuff, so you can bet your ass it's going to come off. Shame the feet are all-new rather than platforms.... it'd be nice to lose that height once the other parts start getting knocked off.
>The new shoulder armor, feet, and those hip binders are all from a Graze so they aren't really new.
Well, yes, I know that; however, it is still new to the Barbatos. Although, we're not entirely sure what stuff came from McGillis. Based on the screens, I'd figure the new arms and the feet, but we won't know until we see the next episode or two.
It's been this way for decades. Besides Char customs there are incredibly few non-Gundams in the entire franchise that matter for shit.
Of the 50 most popular MGs barely over 10 aren't Gundams, and that includes multiple Zakus, Gundams in minimal disguise like Sinanju and Hyaku Shiki, and memes like Ball and Acguy.
He made this as his design entry for the villain suit.
Looks like the bastard child of CA's Vilkiss and a Fafner.
I like it. It looks like the Grimgerde is the "streamlined" version of this.
That looks like something out of Escaflowne. I think it might be a little too advanced-looking compared to the rest of IBO but I like it.
Would rather have had this be the villain suit than his design becoming the Barbatos final form.
Yeah but people here as desperate to call others new fags or retards, so don’t mind them anyway is their nature
I don't know, I would have said it was the lovechild of the Phoenix and Nirvash. But that other isn't wrong, either.
What about Arche Gundam? I see some similarities in them, but maybe that’s just me
I saw more of the TR505 from E7 if you look in the concept art at the bottom, the side skirts look kinda like Lifting boards
What are Earth Economic Blocks, or whatever they are called, trying to accomplish? Do they have any purpose in the story other than being a cheap exploitable plot device to use in order to save Tekkadan's ass now and then?
They are considering letting mars go free for no reason that has been hinted at. The world leaders look old though and a few are ugly so they may be bad, the asian looking one look nicer though so may not be as bad
This is a real issue with IBO. It tells you all or nothing, meaning the things we know don't need discussion and those we don't barely have enough to guess at.
>Browsing at my local hobby shop for some UC HG Gunpla
>Some dude came to me and ask me what I want.
>Tell him what I want
>He pull me towards the IBO section
>Telling me that IBO is one of the best gundam series that will replace the UC era soon in Nipponland
>Being a faggot I am, tell him have he watch G-Reco?
>He said G-Reco is too confusing and its kinda meh
>I heard enough I got myself a Doven Wolf and a Dreissen.
>Before I left I heard he said
He hated The-O design because its too fat
>Never before I saw someone whit such shit taste IRL
They mentioned it pretty early on that a lot of people stand to gain financially from Mars' independence.
Real easy to forget when Kudelia is emitting her character regression field.
>Of the 50 most popular MGs barely over 10 aren't Gundams, and that includes multiple Zakus, Gundams in minimal disguise like Sinanju and Hyaku Shiki, and memes like Ball and Acguy.
The popular ones have at least one very memorable moment, that's pretty much all it takes.
>Real easy to forget when Kudelia is emitting her character regression field.
It was actually a thriving Hobby Shop that sell mainly gunpla but they do sell other stuff as well.
Oh I forgot to mention that the faggot buy 2 HG Barbatos for fuck reason I don't know so I'm pretty sure that fella don't work there cause the store owner is a huge UCfag, that's why he have shit ton of UC gunpla in his case.
It's ok anon.
Since Kudelia is like Jeanne d'arc. Is she also going to be burned for being a witch?
If we know the anime will end with them safely on earth and Mars getting it independence, then there is no reason to watch other than to see if there would be any causalities and how well animated the final showdown will be.
>how well animated the final showdown will be
i'm not holding out much hope, even the images they use for official previews look like ass
These aren't even so bad, but that's cause I've come to expect so little that a bit off model seems okay. That is an awful thing
I don't know much economics, but I figure "independent" Mars will have to renegotiate the contracts for resources. Could be Gjallarhorn's been getting a nice slice through those contracts before.
so the extra chest piece is for the 5th form
An off-color case like early pics of Ryuseigo or just a variant?
The kits in general have been getting a lot more off as time has gone on
Not as bad as Graze custom 2.
Earlier leaked pics were redder, but the in-show color is almost magenta and the actual kit in hand is closer to salmon pink.
Deqoo OZ? Dot Blatrizer G Ext?
They figured out nobody likes the series just in time.
I have a feeling they blew the budget they had for gunpla early on, possibly expecting much bigger sales than just good. I honestly don't know how they handle this stuff though
even the dinosaw is a black lump
>Dot Blatrizer G Ext
that's the one, except the LBX is way cooler
Bandai making it obvious who their target demographic is... for the show at least...
this isnt an official image is it?
I fear for the MSV, IF IBO MSV do happen.
i think even this would have been a better upgrade
When that Graze did shadow clone-no-jutsu
If Gaelio and Kimaris survives the next episode, i will be genuinely shocked.
Last episode was a huge death flag for him after his little dialogue with Ein.
Kimaris was dubbed the "enemy Gundam," so it needs to survive. Besides, it's not like IBO is respecting death flags whatsoever. Question is whether Gaelio dies and Eins gets Alaya-Vijnana, or if Eins dies and Gaelio throws away his pride and "humanity" to become one with Kimaris. Personally, I'd prefer the latter if only for SOMEONE to have character development in this fucking show.
Doesn't OOB usually include stickers? Because that thing is missing all of its stickers. Not like that one Fuunsaiki model where a yellow part is molded in white and they forgot to give you a seal.... or whatever it was.
But, yeah, the Rebake is sticker hell.
>four GNXs copypasted all over with various sizes, shades and blurred to imply distance
>two Grazes copypasted all over with the only difference being size
The problem isn't just stickerfest, there are some misscolored parts that wasn't even covered by stickers.
Hell, those parts could even come in separate colors.
See that big solid between the white stickers in the shoulders? It should be BLACK.
Mika's development so far has been limited to being willing to follow someone who isn't Orga. While not entirely insignificant, it's not that serious of a change in trajectory. Why focus on who gets to hold his leash when he's still little more than a dog?
Instead, what we have had in this show is a long procession of drawn out characterization masquerading as development. Not changes in characterization, just characterization. Mika is still a follower, he still wants to do stuff if it means serving the purposes of Orga or Tekkadan in general (like learning to read so he can help with maintenance), he kissed Kudelia because he followed Naze's example and then didn't think anything of it, the list goes on. The closest thing to serious characterization was Mika considering the idea that he might actually like killing - a topic that hasn't been addressed since and is unlikely to be.
>Mika's development so far has been limited to being willing to follow someone who isn't Orga.
Something else Okada stole from Tomino's ideas when she turned down G-Reco's scripts: Bellri and Aida have a knight and queen relationship with the knight fighting for the queen's ideals.
>The stickers should've told you: Rebake challenges you to learn2paint.
It extends to 1/100 as well.
And the best part?
The shield is supposed to have some big white parts on it and there's no sticker to cover that.
Both HG AND NG.
Well, you're effectively getting two, but it's not like you aren't paying for two. Gusion is considerably more expensive than the other NGs.
Aside from the shield issue, this sticker sheet is disappointing but not horrible. 1-7 are all for the inner frame and can probably be neglected entirely.
Yeah none cant denied that Mika has hardly develop in any way, I mean the only reason he hugged the girls last episode was because Atra told him to, with so few episodes left I doubt this can get a good ending
The Gusion Rebake is fucking weird, to be honest. Like, the whole toad-suit was completely unnecessary and didn't reflect the frame inside at all? Then why would anyone bother to build that huge shell of mostly-ineffective armor over something that was already insanely resilient and much more agile?
It's like taking an F-16 and giving it an outer layer of tin. Why bother? The F-16 itself doesn't really benefit.
>but it's not like you aren't paying for two
Wait? How much more is it
I have a feeling a lot of people will be annoyed when they think they are getting 2 new NGs but really are getting a lot of spare parts
But the armor was really effective, it can take a direct hit from Kimaris Gungnir like it was nothing and it make Barbatos Katana bounce, the problem with the original Gusion is that his pilot simply sucked, what a waste
But it seems to be some kind of...I don't know, extremely resilient sniper suit? Unless I'm reading it wrong, it has that flip-down visor and big rifle. I don't really get the train of reasoning that went "Okay, this unit needs to be a sniper and a walking tank."
Both roles seem to be mutually exclusive.
Kimaris, as an example, is listed at 3,000 yen while the two Gusions are marked at 5,000 yen. Grimgerde, as another point of reference, is 2,500 yen. So, basically double. There's literally no reason for the two to come together.
I think the HG booklet suggested that the Gusion was basically like that originally. Remember, the Gundam frames themselves are basically identical to each other with spacers and minor modifications being utilized to create different forms. The booklet also suggested that the Brewers extended the operational capacity of the Gusion by making it more bulky and using the interior to store propellant.
The only reason the thing is a sniper is due to Akihiro been nothing more than a support character, in this universe having a dedicated range unit equipped simply with a modified Graze rifle seems pointless, Gusion should be going full Spartan smashing everything with the huge shield and its halberd
>The only reason the thing is a sniper is due to Akihiro been nothing more than a support character
I actually see it as a natural extension of the Graze's sensor-ball mechanic... not that he ever used that. That said, the Rebake is probably Tekkadan's most versatile unit with its binders, shield, sniper-vision, and bonus arms.
Eh, I think Gusion is going to stay back and defend the ship. The DMR rifle should allow Akihiro to take out enemy sensors, if nothing else, at range and generally deny them the opportunity to get in close.
>oooh that is going to piss off some people when they realise
Yeah, I could see if it was 4,000 yen - then you could at least argue a savings when most of the NGs cost 3,000 with a few 2,500s thrown in, but twice the price of the Barbatos and Grimgerde for a single frame and a load of spare parts is not a great deal.
Currently there are strict trade and mining regulations/limits on mars in order to keep it weak. Kudelia's plan to boost mars economy after the war is to lessen those regulations and limits so that the planet can start earning some money. Nobliss, McMurdo, and now McGillis are all lending support in exchange for shares of the profit from the trade. It came up last episode and in the one where they meet McMurdo.
Nobliss seems to want a conflict.
McMurdo Barriston and McGillis seem to want more institutional power - McMurdo for Teiwaz and McGillis as a way of gaining control over Gjallarhorn for his "reforms".
I think people don't understand what "failure" means.
>AGE is a failure
>G-Reco is a failure
>IBO is a failure
Were any of these shows canceled? The only Gundam that was a failure was X.
Don't forget about the original, too.
X wasn't even necessarily "cancelled" (As in pulled from TV).
It was cancelled in the sense that sunrise and bandai chose not to purchase timeslots for a 4th cours and instead chose to wrap up within the episodes they had already purchased.
>Bellri and Aida have a knight and queen relationship with the knight fighting for the queen's ideals.
So like a zillion other SciFi series? This has been done since StarWars OT
Last episode he was mentioned as being one of the share holders. Remember, as Kudelia's supporter he had to keep up a front and having a reason for dupporting her is part of that.
Bellri wanted to sheath his sword in a Aida.
Also saw that Luke/Leia shit from a mile away when G-Self could only be piloted by them and milk chocolate.
Destabilizing the economy is one of the best ways to get rich.
Destabilization fucks up the supply chain, fucking up the supply chain puts companies in danger, companies that aren't doing so hot become much less valuable than they were, this makes them easier to acquire.
While dangerous, there's nothing like fucking up the current world order as a quick way of reshaping the world in your interests.
>companies that aren't doing so hot become much less valuable than they were, this makes them easier to acquire.
That just seems like a stupid gamble that could just backfire from something as simple as one riot or battle taking place in the right area.
What business is the old man in anyway?
You got any sauce for that claim or are you just chattin shit?
>What business is the old man in anyway?
My money is on all the businesses.
Still, it's a pretty old trick to just sit on your money until a crisis rolls around; however, the problem with being old is that you start running out of time to wait. Not to mention that the PD timeline seems to have been really stable since the War, and people like Jew-hime only come along every so often.
>That's a pretty poorly thought out character
Which fits in perfectly with the rest of the cast.
The real question, for me at least, is how he was using Fumitan that whole time. What leverage did he have on her? Who was she before being reduced to Jew-Hime's maid? She was clearly skilled at a series of technical shit, so she's not a nobody. Furthermore, I'd like clarifications on exactly when Kudelia did her little talk and how that fits into the overall timeline. She was a little girl when Fumitan showed up, but Fumitan is McMurdo's tool.... so does that mean Kudelia did her speech when she was, like, twelve? Also, if she did her speech that early, why did McMurdo take so long to have her killed? Fumitan says she was going to leave her to die in that slum - so why didn't she? What benefit was there back then? Why wait all this time for the elaborate Gjallarhorn hit-job? How was the hit on Mars actually supposed to incite a rebellion when CGS was out in butt-fuck? Who was ever going to know?
I'm honestly fine with every single part of this story that has nothing to do with Kudelia.
Well there are images of Kudelia doing the big speech at what looks like the same age, we can say it is in some space of a year. Her interest seems to have started with that book and then the walk around the slums. This means Kudelia must have had an interest since that time or had a huge break in between, possibly because she got scared. The second is more likely given her ignorance.
There is no way he could have known about this, at best we could assume he has some contact with the family (maybe business) so at best may have heard she was into all that when her parents were saying how wonderful there kid is (what rich families do). If she did not pursue the interest for so many years he would have had no way of knowing until at best she started up again. So to be generous the earliest he would have known is a little before her speech or heard an off hand comment when she was little.
Fumitan can therefore not have been a plant from the beginning, simply does not make sense. Now it isn't elaborated on but she seems to have been some level of poor and must have lived in the slum at some point. How she got from there to flash back to present is not elaborated on at all. Leaving Kudelia then seems to have been more motivated by a dislike of the rich/ignorant, though I really can't imagine she was properly going to abandoned her as she'd probably get lynched by the family. It also seems completely unfair to call a 7 year old ignorant about the deeper socio-economic issues. The fact she wants to help is very good and she could nurture and encourage it instead, help her do a bake sale. She seems to dislike the current way things are but exact ideas are not clear. It again makes more sense for Kudelia not to have kept up her ambition of helping here as it could cause a growing resentment. This would make sense then why she could be pulled into the plot to kill her later.
A problem arises with why she would betray someone doing what appears to be what she wants. Kudelia wants to help poor, she is stupid but she obviously is having a large effect and will learn more over time. Fumi would be the closest person to Kudelia and seeing her do all this, it isn't like she was doing the normal celebrity fundraiser turn up and show your arse she organised it all. You'd think she'd be proud that Kudelia had finally stood up and started to act. She was being the maiden in the book, instead of try to kill her help.
The problem is Fumi's unclear ideals, We have no idea how she really feels about the issue thus her betrayal seems odd. This is made worse by Kudelia making no change in how she is (exposing more ignorance really) yet now Fumi decides that she is worth saving. Also what can fat old guy give her? Money would be the most logical but she likely has made a good sum with a very stable job, War will make mars a worse place to live and may make the money worthless. Plus the poor are the most likely to suffer so does she actually want to help them.
Maybe though she is also being ignorant and has not thought it through. Why does she hate Kudelia so much? We hate her for the whole useless kick she is currently on but that was caused by current events. When she first arrived she seemed like a very normal girl, the only sort of snooty thing was no respecting some will be put off by their class difference. That isn't really snooty though, Kudelia seems like a nice enough person and she always treated Fumi well.
Fumitan is an incredibly weak character who seems to have only acted out of ignorant spite, and I only wrote all this as Street Fighter V isn't out yet and I'm bored.
Actually one thing to add, her ignorance doesn't work cause it is pointless.
Take greco, a lot of people act dumb in that series but it has a point. A huge repeated conflict is people using to much force with machines they don't understand around the towers/colonies which tries causes accidents. Their ignorance serves the purpose of how hard life in space is and to show how dangerous these machines are. This again links back to how mistakes in the past were made with this technology and how terribly it all could have been if everyone had the G-type suits. The ignorance serves a purpose on multiple levels defining characters, world and themes
What does Fumitan being ignorant mean? It means the story can have a moment where is sucks of Kudelia for not really having done anything and give the 95th chance for her to change. Nothing is nicely built up here, no interesting point is made but to now place in a block saying Kudelia is now great and people like her. Nothing is built up in IBO you just get blocks of what happens.
>watch some of the most boring shows of all-time
Because Zakus are piss easy to churn out in endless colour variants with a different sticker sheet. I'd honestly expect them to start making money after less than a hundred sales, which is frankly guaranteed.
