>tfw there are people on this board right now who think Rahxephon is anything more than a shitty Eva clone
Just admit you fags only like it because "muh cake wins".
I have and the similarities are uncanny:
-Non-human teenage boy protag
-Main mecha's main weapon is sound and uses archery
-Mu is part of the mythology
-Heavy in oceanic iconography
-A lot of wild monsters of the week
-Lots of fan service
>tfw there are people on this board right now who think Evangelion is anything more than a shitty Baldios clone
Just admit you fags only like it because "muh growing up in the 90s".
>main character cries
>main character has an absentee father and no mother
>mech cockpit is filled with liquid
>of the main character's two comrades, one is an asshole and the other is indifferently dismissive
>female support staff handing out boners like they're free
>enemy designs are mind-rending eldritch horrors from the void that make no sense
>antagonists are from space but curiously related to humanity
>the world drowns in Tang at the end
>needed a movie to redo an ending that people weren't happy with
It's fucking Eva for hipsters that want to like Eva but don't want to like something mainstream.
>But the robot looks like Raideen and the the aliums are called Mu!
And? Do you know anything about Raideen besides that?
ADV was pumping this shit out in the 2000s like no tomorrow, it's the only "EVA clone" that casual anime fans can even name. How is RahXephon NOT mainstream?
>Do you know anything about Raideen besides that?
In any case, RahXephon has a lot more offer than Evangelion. Everything in the show just feels more developed than Eva. More so knowing that Eva isn't meant to make any sense, and the sole reason it exists is to piss off Otaku. That, and Eva seems a bit childish in comparison in every way.

Hi, I've lived 6 years in Japan and I'd like to ask why people use the word "christmas cake" here like it's a normal term?
It's a very heavily insulting word, only used by few women-hating grandpa's there, not used in positive context ever.
There seems to be some misunderstanding going on this site. Don't use it about characters you like. Now you know.
"Otaku" also has a strong negative connotation and people in here/westerners use it all the time as if not. Stop whining, people use words in different ways in different places. Who cares.
You do know it was, right? Sorry to infringe on your favourite muslim cartoon.
>get your haircut while nude
>can get properly brushed off so no short hairs fall on your neck / upper back and get caught in your shirt and annoy you for the rest of the day
quit bullshitting. Anyone who seriously thinks RahXephon is legitimately some sort of "Raideen remake" hasn't actually seen more than like 2 eps of Raideen. Yes, there ARE surface-level similarities between the two shows like all the things you have listed, for example. But that doesn't mean shit. RahXephon is completely different in story and tone and plot and just about everything. It obviously draws some influence from Raideen and that's cool and all and appreciable, but that doesn't make it a "half Raideen remake".
If you want a good version of Evangelion just watch Brain Powerd.
Nah, it's just better written and developed and most importantly, it doesn't have a pretentious meta-message delivered by a self hating otaku in his deepest depression, that and Yamada's designs are great,
Rei is still cuter than most Yamada girls tho. And EVA is a shitty Zeorymer clone anyway.
I guess most Japs are drooling retards then since Raideen and Rahxephon are related in SRW MX.
I suddenly feel like watching it
>not liking that glorious Sakamoto/Kanno OP
Rah's one of my favorite shows, while you'd have to pay me to suffer through Eva TV again. I don't care if it's a clone or not, it's at least watchable.
Except for that one episode. 16 I think? The flashback ep that tried to pretend Makoto wasn't an awful pile of shit? That one.
