These were drawn in memory of Nirasawa, who had just recently passed away, his long-time collaborator along with Takeya. He designed some of the monsters in Garo and they go way back, all the way to Kamen Rider Black era and several of Amemiya's movies. Real big loss, that man made so many monsters for so many different series.

I still hate that his scarves are stiff and straight like that. The two other Figuarts I can recall off the top of my head (Another Agito and Nasca Dopant) have more dynamic, fluid looking scarves. Hell, Nasca does the same thing as Leon Garo and has this detailed ornamentation at the end.
