18ep. "Voice" preview pics.
How long are going to live Gaelio, new woman and Norba?
Who is the voice that ask for a help?
UGH. Looks like another episode where poor written characters stand around talking and we see a bunch of shots of giant robots standing still.
People hate on the Aldnoah zero for their bland characters and CGI Mecha but at least the FUCKING GIANT ROBOTS DID SOMETHING IN EVERY EPISODE.
>u want hot brood batoru?
>here kudeliya dialogue
>more robots standing still
>here's char so mysterious amrite
>here's time travel Japanese lady with a blue graze I wonder what would happen to her in MS combat
could you explain the a/z hate? all i know is that /m/ hates it and /a/ loves it. my friend keeps saying to watch it but active raid, dem w, pso2, and ibo take up my anime slots.
i really wanna know what she says that would stop that huge fleet of known corrupt assholes to not make Swiss cheese of them
>/a/ loves it
I haven't been to /a/ in a while, but what I remember while it was airing, and about half a year after it ended, is that /a/ also hated the show itself but occasionally had fun with speculah
that is, when the threads weren't just seasonal shitposting
I won't continue watching unless Fumitan is revealed to still be Alive
A/Z is rightfully hated but it gets meme'd to the Xtreme because it aired at the same time as G-Reco, so "stick to A/Z" has given it probably 20-40% more presence than it would have otherwise. The fact that it was what everyone shat on for being the casual show of the season(s) is telling, though.
Bad CG, but not awful. You could work with it since the rest of the animation was alright.
Bad story. It was a mess in many aspects and kuh-RAZY twists didn't help.
I fucking hated how bad the "science" was but some people didn't mind I guess (It's one thing to say photon missile or antimatter engine and it is another entirely to base your fights around pseudo-Treknobabble)
Remember when previews where not just people staring at nothing?
Remember when Gundam was not just boring close-up over close-up over other close-ups?
Remember when Gundam had characters moving and acting?
Remember when Gundam had characters doing something on the background?
The amount of expressions in that preview alone is something like 3 times what we have got in almost 20 episodes of IBO.
Look at how gorgeous the backgrounds are compared to >>13843063 grey and blue/grey. I get that IBO is trying to go all super cereal you can make that nice to look at still
It seems like episode 20 will be the start of the earth arc. I think we're close to the climax now.
We've got 2 more episodes till the fucking earth?
What are they even going to do? Defeat all of the ghorns fleet surrounding earth? If they are known and in orbit for any time surely they'd be destroyed
You know what is a random thing IBO has missed doing? Showing us the grunt pilots and humanising them
They don't do it in every fight in other shows but usually you get a few seconds to show that there is a pilot in there, usually showing them scared, angry from fear or trying to help a comrade. That few seconds just reminds you oh yeah that is a human who got killed, but we never see Graze pilots. The only time they sort of did it was the Brewers arc but the problem there is no one seemed to address or care they were murdering slave kids, they only did for one as he was Gut's brother.
>Or, are we?
>That leaves 5 episodes to wrap it up.
From what the producer said, the goal was reaching earth and that there will be more fights towards the end.
But it could be just he producer bullshitting to keep people watching.
>From what the producer said, the goal was reaching earth
I think the issue is with this is the plot still feels like it hasn't really started because we haven't got deep into the issues/politics of earth, mars or even the colonies. It's all just a very basic they are oppressive
The show was meant to be about the journey, but the journey has felt like filler
>The show was meant to be about the journey, but the journey has felt like filler
That's the best way to put it, they treated the most important factor of the show like filler and as people are just waiting for things to get started, it will end.
It's obvious the main theme of the show, is the oppressed youth trying to find their way to happiness and somehow that will appeal to younger audiences but it's too straightforward and lacks excitement.
>but it's too straightforward and lacks excitement.
I think the problem is it lacks detail
Take the dort workers. Their workplace seems nice and they all seem clean and healthy, many were even old so suggest the work isn't extremely gruelling. Their apartments seem nice and they can afford technology like tablets or are given them. That one guy commented he used a spinner rodi for work so they get newish custom made suits for the job. There didn't seem to be any type of racism to the lower class, really the only bad things we saw happen is when they bought illegal firearms including three fucking tanks.
I think they didn't do this because they were badly attempting a grey morality where the workers didn't look so great, but the gjallarhorn are just so unapologetically bad anyway and they don't do enough with that grey so it doesn't work. It just ends up being two groups in a side dispute no one cares about that both seem stupid
Nothing confirmed yet, and judging by it's poor performance on all fronts except Graze kits (and even that's supposedly dying down) I doubt Sunrise would invest in it. If they really do announce a Unicorn Gundam TV version in the next week or so as rumoured, then we can probably count a S2 of IBO out
God those Brewers episodes feel so unnecessary now. It's like they had to create an arc just to have a reason to introduce the gusion. Sure guts got some development but he's hardly relevant now and I don't expect he's going to play too great a role in the coming episodes as everything starts to wrap up other than just being extra muscle in the fights coming up.
>and judging by it's poor performance on all fronts except Graze kits
Attempting to say that model kits are underperforming is ridiculous because you have no way of proving that.
>you have no way of proving that.
We had a thread about this a few days ago, with testimony from actual Nips that people are losing interest in the gunpla.
Keep up, IBOfag. OR rather, kill yourself.
Yes, because it's a fact that we don't know either way. Everybody just has to kind of guess and make assumptions.
For what it's worth according to Derringer the Barbatos has outsold the Build Strike and Build Burning... internationally anyway.
Okay to clear this up and to calm one of you down
As derringer >>13839107 has said the Barbatos has done well, but only thinks the others will because of apparent popularity of the series. That popularity is debatable as is if that translates to kit sales
>Now you're just being petty.
No because that is a very big distinction
Saying this has sold well and I think this will sell well is very different. Especially when what he is betting on a debatable popularity and the main suit selling well, series with main suits that sell well don't always have good sales in other kits
It's derringer you nonce
There's no way he would have gotten past the captcha
For some reason I don't feel any gravity thanks since everything feels "empty" . Too much space and little to no crowd.
Add to that they fucked up space arc for almost half of the series.
This series has pretty much emulated the structure of Gundam Wing. Exciting start, boring middle and mildly interesting end.
I do hope if they do any sequel,do it like 3 OVA long Endless Waltz( the whole Maiden of revolution thing is pretty much that) , not something like 25 ep long frozen teardrop.
>Look at how gorgeous the backgrounds are compared to >>13843063 (OP) grey and blue/grey. I get that IBO is trying to go all super cereal you can make that nice to look at still
One thing G-Recko can't be critised on is the art.
It's very detailed, and varied. With lots of tiny touches. It shows the animators cared to create a living breathing world. The story is a mess because of pacing, but it's one of the niceset Gundam series ever. IBO doesn't even begin to approach that type of qualilty. It's as if Sunrise had take a bunch of 6 year olds, given them blue crayons and go ahead draw. Monocolor, bare backgrounds and foregrounds is all we've got.
I think bland is just studio 3's signature style
Victory, seed/destiny, 00, age, gbf/try and now ibo. Don't get me wrong they can animate pretty well when they want to but stylistically it is very bland. Like the way they use colours and the silly gradients and the way they shade mecha hasn't changed since seed
>The bickering zabis was a subsubplot that barely mattered to the story of 0079.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Oh man what a laugh. 0079 is about Char getting his revenge on the Zabi family while fighting a newtype kid named Amuro.
Please tell me its not going to just repeat an entire 0079 plot point.
RIP Gaelio and fuck you chocopedobirdchar
>Gihren zabi rallying Zeon to crush the federation and avenge garma. whole arc after this has Ral going out specifically to take out white base for this very reason. Then we have m'quve fucking ral over by not giving him doms because of his allegiances to kycillia and wanting to keep their mining base he's at a secret from the rest of the zabis
thats just the start
stop pretending you watched 0079
What the fuck is even NotChar doing at this point?
He seemed to want to capture Kudelia at one point but then let her leave to get assassinated. He doesn't seem to be on a gjallarhorn ship right now and I'm still not sure what purpose his disguise serves. This guy is the closest thing we have to a main antagonist and I'm not even sure if he is one
So wait, what are IBO's political points? Kudelia's conflicting interests with her father, her working with the fat man, something something REVOLUTION, whatever the fat guy is doing behind the scenes with McWeaboo, and whatever Birdman Char is doing with his father? Man, all these open plotlines are going to leave a ton of time for mecha battles in these last few episodes :^)
I guess he wants to use her for his plan to reform Gyallarhorn. Maybe use her to draw the corrupt Gyallarhorn into a fight and using his disguise so he can fight them without being blamed? Frankly the disguise looks dumb as fuck.
Surely the ones who are most corrupt aren't those going out in MS, at least not 90% of the time. The guys who will be doing the fucked up things are the bureaucrats commanding everything from comfy offices
This show has done an awful job of balancing the politcal aspect, kudelia/mcgillis's side of the story with the story of these orphans. The orphans feel barely relevant anymore, they've just become kudelias pawns. I can only hope that this is an actual plot point because they really have just gone from being child soldiers for some dodgy mercenary business to the child soldiers of an insurgency headed by a supposed revolutionary with incredibly unconvincing credentials. I sincerely hope Orga or someone realises this
Or that G-Reco makes no sense.
I'm actually seeing a lot of the hate dying down right now. The people complaining the loudest are gone, and it's easier to remember things when you can finish the show in a few sittings.
Urobutcher's thoughts on it may help as well, as well as people fighting ANN's narrative.
I don't like how it turns Mika and Orga into boring side characters. I don't need them to have a huge personality change or anything but I wanted to see them act and deal with interesting things. They've both been stuck in the background for several episodes.
The problem here is a duality
The orphans and Kudelia's pointless complaining gets all the focus despite not being very plot relevant (the orphans not even caring about politics), but all the plot is in the political side which gets no attention
Mika has been stuck in the background for the whole show. His only credential to being one is having a Gundam, and now that Guts does as well but he also had (bad) character development he is more a main character
>I still can't get over them bringing guns to a peace march.
I still can't believe they really did it. It is like Okada has never really seen a peaceful demonstration in the streets. Farmers don't bring tanks, they bring tractors.
>Man that military can easily out power us, we need to match them and so force
>YEAH! So like 3 tanks should be enough right?
Then again their reflexes are so slow you can pick a gun off the floor and shoot them so maybe there is some logic to it
I just had to do it. Seriously, where is the budget for this show going?
How can we be expected to care about the story when not even the MC does?
An MC can not care about the story, but then he does need to still be involved. Mika's only real involvement is that he pilots a suit, nothing would change much if you put Eugene or someone else in his place
Mika had a lot of potential in the first few episodes. He was autistic but he had good reason, since he had all of that emphasis on Orga's and his backstory about REAL orphan problems; he was 100% dedicated to Orga to the point that even Orga felt uneasy with it, which could have made an interesting dynamic (especially if something divided their interests) instead of the perfect leader/perfect pilot pair we got; he was brutal but had moments like putting Atra's bracelet behind his back in some kind of protective manner; he linked to Barbatos perfectly and it told him its name, but all that really matters now is "h-he had his limiter off!!" like it's a shounen manga...
All that wasted, and that goes for a few other characters too. I guess I was reading too much into it. I had hoped Okada and Nagai together would create something at the very least melodramatic and edgy but we end up with blandness and boredom and QUALITY.
I think Mika had the ingredients to be a good character but from the start there was just something about the writing where I felt this show was never going to be much more than generic drama.
Even then I thought we'd at least get the split between Orga and Mika, I guess we still might but it's a bit late.
Mika isn't the hero of the story in a classic sense. He and Orga don't need to be our cheif focus because I think the intention with IBO is to turn Tekkadan itself into the hero for whom we root.
By focusing less on Mika in a very typical mecha anime way, the focus instead then shifts to the actions of the group as a whole.
I've found the show quite enjoyable. While the characters can be off the wall and stupid sometimes, all of their actions contribute enjoyably to the overall story of a slumdog merc company trying to make it in space.
Except nobody on the crew gets a great deal of focus so I don't get your point, in fact that's generally the problem is that Mika isn't much of a protagonist and neither is Orga so there's no reason to care or root for them. Its like people who like this show only like the ideas it has but not the execution.
>Except nobody on the crew gets a great deal of focus
Orga gets the occasional be a better captain speech despite pulling of everything he has ever done well. Gut liked shouting about muh debris but we never got to see him be treated worse so it fall flat. And then we have everyone's favourite, rich girl who is a leading figure of a planetary independance movement has lost confidence making every scene she is in about this.
At best for other characters we get a vague "I have family" or "I'm angry and need to prove myself." No one's relationship is complex or multifaceted.
Finally a mask more useless than Chronicle Asher, who was a red herring and not the real rival. Praise be unto Okada and Nagai.
/m/, would you prefer to have a second season with a big interplanetary war and have all these episodes as setting the groundwork for that
make it end in these next 5 eps. and let IBO be forgotten as the nothing it was?
>make it end in these next 5 eps. and let IBO be forgotten as the nothing it was?
It will be remember as a show some try to argue wasn't THAT bad and others will say is a snooze fest.
Well, none of the recent episodes made me think "I want to see more of that". I wouldn't mind a better, more interesting IBO but it would have to change completely over the next few episodes.
I really want to know more about IBO's production
I want to know what the actual structure for getting a script done was. I want to know where all the horribly clashing character designs came from. I want to know how this was lead as it seems no one is guiding the story. I want to know how well the thought this would do and the plans for it.
I do think the addition of Teiwaz detracted from the characters. Instead of Orga struggling to get over his inadequacies as a leader, he basically became "muh aniki" to solve all his doubts for him. Likewise, the whole idea of Barbatos cannibalizing parts gets thrown out when they just completely restored it to its original form.
It also ruins the whole achievement of them doing anything. Barely a week in space and they get one of the biggest underworld groups to let them sign up but pretty much owe them nothing.
Them unprepared going into pirate territory is scary, them which a veteran mafia team? Not so much
brewers were supposedly pretty famous too. Notfellini and his ship should have been destroyed in the brewers fight and by the end of the arc orga now has the difficult task of managing tekkadan without help as well as the remainders of notfellinis harem. Orga has to grow to fill fellinis boots basically. Merrybit is also too helpful so something has to be done about her as well.
At least then the whole brewers thing would have had some lasting relevance to the story. It was too focused on guts
I am confused, what is this weird blue robot doing on the cover of the IBO BR box?
>If it's too exciting for you, you don't have to watch.
It's okay man, I've dumped IBO at the end of the second episode. It was pretty clear at the time where this was going i.e NOWHERE. Fafner Exodus has more going in 2 episodes than IBO in 15. IBO is fail from start to end, it's even shittier than A/Z. Mika worse than Inaho, they did it I just couldn't believe it.
The fact is the people working on IBO simply do not give a rat's ass about it. If they don't care why should we care ?
Teiwaz sucks. I seriously think they were put into the show to combat the fujo complaints and for the shock of having a legit harem. The problem with that is that Naze doesn't even interact with most of his wives. They may have children by him but they still seem to be his wives because the show said so and not because they actually are.
>having a legit harem
Shock is what IBO relies on, all the positive talk is always one shocking moment
>MIka is so brutal shooting those guys XD
>Lol harem that means sex
>OMG dey kissued
>oh shit is is sad cus he's dead and was his brother
I'm inclined to agree with the other anon. Mika is managing to be even more irrelevant than Inaho, which is quite a feat. Just see >>13845665
He doesn't care nor want to inform himself about what is happening around him.
Now he's just Kudelia's fanboy who eats in the bg. He doesn't stand out in battle or outside of it. Not that he has to be a gary stu who controls the battlefield but he has nothing whatsoever going for him.
The problem is that IBO suffers from being very dull as is so a dull MC makes that even worse. At least Inaho you can be angry at and laugh about cause all the shit he pulls. What has Mika got? He kissed a girl, and then not advanced that sub plot for three episodes. He shot someone, 15 episodes ago.
In a show that is good in general it is better have a passive character than an awful one, in a bad show just fucking go for it cause at least that gives something
>At least Inaho you can be angry at and laugh about cause all the shit he pulls.
No I can't because his antics don't amuse me and I'm not sure why the fuck you would watch something to get mad at it, seems like a waste of time really.
Mika is largely inoffensive and nothing about him is as bad as Inaho unless you just don't like the show as a whole, hell he's not even the weakest element in IBO like Inaho is in A/Z he's just not much of a MC.
>his antics don't amuse me
And Mika's lack of anything does?
It's the difference between watching a train wreck and a train slowly crawling so slowly that it takes an our to go a meter. A wreck has something to be engaged about and yes watching something just fuck up is amusing and entertaining to many people
jeez calm your edge. No one is arguing AZ is a good show, the point is people would rather have points to engage in than nothing at all.
You just aren't the sort of person who picks up on things.
>points to engage
Just admit that you're one of those retards who purposely pursue shitand guise it as LEL EPIC TRAINWRECK meme. All he's saying is that you can't use the same argument for a bad show, IBO is just meh.
>would you prefer to have a second season with a big interplanetary war and have all these episodes as setting the groundwork for that
Because pic related.
Too boring with no conflict in the story. Option 2 please. I don't give a shit about these characters and they would need to spend a ton of the second season setting up the Mars forces because we left the planet too soon to learn anything about it. I don't give a fuck about Mars and they made it that way with the way they handled it.
He's using AZ as an comparison and that show was never a trainwreck. It was boring and took itself completely seriously, but was far from being a trainwreck. That would imply it left the station.
The argument seems to be IBO is incredibly shitty, boring and forgettable and could use something to make it actually memorable rather than being fucking nothing for 23 minutes.
Despite shows like AZ being what they were, they managed to generate more discussion, viewership, speculation and interest.
That's because AZ, despite being a disaster for many reasons that shouldn't be discussed itt, was ambitious with the setting, the plot and there was something big they tried to tell us. They failed but the will and potential was there.
IBO is nothing, its scope is minimal and it seems to be aimless so, yes, a boring but consistent show that leaves you indifferent is better by default than a huge failure that makes you mad/disappointed but in the end even AZ will be more memorable han IBO which will be forgotten a week after it stops airing.
Had potential. Not perfect, and I wouldn't even say it was exceptional. Probably just above good. I think we all read into Okada's presence too much and expected every detail to matter or become some part of an elaborate melodrama. It would have been a fun knightly romp as mercenaries who seemed have no side or maybe a train wreck that we could have enjoyed.
But, instead of a train wreck, rollercoaster or adventure, what we got was a tour through the rice processing plant with the tour guide who wants to make everything SUPER FUNTASTIC by repeating that same joke over and over again. And by the end we still aren't really sure if we learned how rice is processed.
So what? Chocolate man hates corrupt adults who use their position of power to turn Gjallahorn into shit but keeps this guy around? Are they trying to tell me this bokan gang reject is supposed to be useful to him?
He hates corruption but seems to be trying to kill off people while pretending to be someone else and then will likely take power. he also plans to trick Kudelia but it is so unclear now as he nearly let her die
Basically, Not-char is a shit character
The only reason she isn't the worst design is cause the brewers exist
She even has a dumb little katana
>there are people on /m/ who literally watch anime on youtube
Welcome to the new age of streaming grandpa. It's been like this for a while, I'm just glad I can get the same high quality video from Youtube/Daisuki.
You should only torrent Blu-rays if you cannot afford them or live in a country where you cannot purchase them
>watching something in a browser
>not downloading it and watching it with placebo player of choice filled with placebo filters
If your gonna watch shit, then at least put some effort into making it "less shit".
Why was Mika so shocked when Kudelia started talking?
Why is everyone acting like she is amazing now?
Why are they acting like this could effect anything? Put out a press release that says she is a criminal trying to cover this all up
Considering the Unicorn TV show I think this won't be getting a second season. At least not for the moment.
It might be interesting seeing how a competent writer would actually tackle having to write a sequel to IBOring, though. And if the normies would bitch.
What moderate success? Views on Daisuki don't translate into cash. The dub deal was a mistake and they're going to regret it. Origin put up just enough hope for more BD releases, not a dub of their recent train wrecks. They got greedy.
You really don't see the bigger picture do you? Do you not know how things work anymore? It's not about TV ratings, it's about streaming and its success, IBO has been opened world wide more than any other Gundam show, it's popularity is huge outside of Japan. Whenever you like it or not, IBO is bringing tons of cash to Bandai/Sunrise and this is a good thing because they will see how good of a move it was to make Gundam accessible to a wider audience
>I am going to reform by doing sneaky outside work where I kill my superiors and help enemies that could be seen as terrorists
That kinda sounds a little corrupt and I'm not sure the show realises it
>kudelia let me suck your dick more
>wow kudelia is so sugoi
>missing out on that prime [EG] content
Got any sources on that m8? All I've been seeing are low viewership numbers compared to other things this season combined with all the reviews starting with "I have been a Gundam fan forever...". American audiences don't like buying either. A subscription-based service like Netflix is what the people want. They don't care about buying anything, they want to stream, consume, and discard ASAP.
Not him, but when stores like Gamestop, Hot Topic are bringing IBO specific merchandise due to costumer demand, it might mean something.
Everyone hated A/Z second season which crushed any chances it had to be a success.
>I still have no sources and will not point to statistics because they will betray me
These streamers will not buy jack shit, Bandai will get no money. This isn't 00 where popularity spread and gundam fans were reminded that the Franchise moved on from SEED. This is for seasonal casuals who will eat anything as long as it's free on crunchyroll
>but when stores like Gamestop, Hot Topic are bringing IBO specific merchandise
Aldnoah has five times more people on MAL than IBO. If you're so delusional and base your ideas of how popular IBO is on conjecture, you best go fuck off back to another site where everyone will help foster your delusion.
Aldnoah had infinitely more hype on sites like IGN, Kotaku and ANN than IBO. Oh, and I LOVE all the proof you're giving me. It really lends credibility to your case.
>Aldnoah has five times more people on MAL than IBO
>basing his logic on MAL
We're done here.
>Oh, and I LOVE all the proof you're giving me. It really lends credibility to your case.
So it's delusional to base my logic on ACTUAL numbers that represent how many people, on a site largely used by Western anime viewers, watch a certain show?
While you just give me insubstantial links that don't prove your point?
How fucking desperate and pathetic are you? Just fuck off
Why does amount of people talking about it not count but news pushing a show that got advertising does?
And lets look at another kotaku list of super popular anime to this day
>Witch Craft Works
>The Pilot's Love Song
> World Conquest Zvezda Plot
All such huge shows in the west that changed the face of anime. Also really IGN posting a trailer? They have got shit all else on it as well
Why is he so surprised? In IBO MSs are still in the hangar every week.
Truly delusional MAL numbers mean shit, do you even think MAL matters? What matters is the big numbers Daisuki/youtube pulls which grants them ad revenue, also lets not forget how the fucking gunplas are selling just as good. Are you that goddamn desperate that you need to use MAL to try and stablish an argument? FUCKING MAL? The same place that thinks G-Reco is the worst gundam in history? Really you damn fucking cock sucking idiot.
>Mal as a source
Might as well use Yaraon as your source of everything
She gets to Earth and talks to the leader of the whatever and then you get an epilogue about how things got better.
There's no official source on the S2 reveal. The OST is listed as Season 1 but others have said it was the same for G Reco aswell.
Wow. What the fuck? Are they so lazy they are really going to use ZZ first draft and turn notJerid into a Cyber-Newtype? Get the fuck out, Okada.
>info-dumping your backstory
>staff is so lazy and uninterested in your character they prefer to pan over the mechas
>they don't even bother to animate the workers
Being Ein is suffering.
First episode has 500k views ( obviously because new gundam series hype and guys like JonTron advertising it)
Second has about 300k
Third has 220k
Skip to episode 15, that has just 80k
Episode 16 has 71k
Episode 17 has 62k
And episode 18 has about 2k (presumably since it just came out)
It probably isn't fair to use Youtube views to gauge it's popularity since people will have watched different episodes at different times, but this seems very low compared to when Build Fighters TRY was airing
>What matters is the big numbers Daisuki/youtube pulls which grants them ad revenue, also lets not forget how the fucking gunplas are selling just as good.
Daisuki gets that ad revenue because they bought a contract with Bandai to stream it. On YouTube they're making fucking peanuts because their numbers aren't that good and YT ad revenue is almost nothing. It's for publicity and it's worth hiring a bunch of fansubbers who would do it anyway to make the west feel like they aren't cut off. Ads mean almost nothing. Gunpla also has little to do with it, those numbers barely change here.
You have to be trolling if you think the website that supports this show the most having shit viewing numbers (as in amount, not opinion fuckface) means nothing then I don't know what to say. Neither Daisuki, YouTube or MAL (or any of your "sources" if you can call them that) support your claims that IBO is popular here in the west.
That's a common thing in anime. Any anime. One anime I remember that wasn't all about blatant exposition is G-reco. And, remember, casuals hated it. It was too difficult to understand.
You mean exactly like he's been told by looking how many people talk about the show?
This isn't like a tiny difference. This is at a low estimate of 500 post average for AZ to a high estimate around 100 posts average fro IBO.
>Kudelia is so boring
>I wish I was on Earth already
>I want to go back home and eat Cookie and Cracker
>Oh, hey, make this weird and unknown guy board our ship and drop his stuff on our hangar
>turns out he is one of the bad guys
I hope he is unloading chemical weapons and planning to kill all of them, because they can't be THIS fucking dumb and the writing be THIS fucking shit.
Biscuit's face is a clear
>Get the fuck out of here, nobody will believe you.
Gundam is just a toy commercial guys.
I'm not sure if it's the nature of the japanese language or anime directors not caring about being a little subtle, but spelling out emotions and themes just cheapens the work overall.
I hope it will, because they deserve it.
They let Pigman live, leaving trail after trail behind their path, not to mention a big source of info on their tactics and everything, Hitler, to their biggest enemy. And nothing fucking happened.
And now it is the second time they get cargo without even checking what they are fucking shipping. Talk about crazy shit, as if the first trap wasn't enough.
It's the second. When shows aren't made for kids, or at least when they aren't pretending kids are retarded, they largely avoid this. It is still obvious in other ways so kids don't miss it but some directors seriously do not understand children.
Thanks for pointing that out, we didn't notice the 23 times he said that himself.
>But anon the likes bar keeps getting better, the episodes are improving.
It's funny how even in the 80s they could put in a fight in nearly every single episode of Zeta Gundam to shill out their shitty old bad 80s gunpla but now in 2016 IBO's incredible kits and designs literally sit in the hangars while we get episode after episode of some shitters we don't care about telling us instead of showing us.
My favorite part was when Mika got all serious and they were about to launch into action against the massive Arianrhod fleet but then they stopped and floated through the hundred copypasted Grazes. It's like the IBO staff are doing it on purpose.
To be fair she's actually growing as a character, it just took so fucking long everyone has lost all good faith by now.
That's basically IBO in a nutshell, everything takes too fucking long.
I kinda get what the producers are trying to do, robots aren't as cool as they used to to kids, so they focus on relationships, camaraderie and fighting for independence. They also updated the politics to our day while still keeping the inessential Gundam tropes. All in hope that it will get kids invested.
man the show started out pretty slow but at least its gotten fairly entertaining now that that the ridiculous over the top melodrama that everyone was expecting has kicked i- oh wait ;__;
No she grown. She was cuddled for so long by Fumitan and was ignorant to the outside world. It finally registered her the reality she is living when she admitted to being a spy and her dying in her arms.
That was the catalyst for growth.
>catalyst you idiot
But she has already changed, she has gone from A to B not started her journey to B.
>If this goes to 2 seasons,
HA. How much more evidence do you need the show is doing a little lower mediocre at best? And if viewer numbers are considered pretty poorly
She has gone from sitting in her room crying about be useless all day to being super serious, working hard all the time, using her contact to get shit done and generally acting like a politician not some teenage girl who has never been kissed before
>sitting in her room crying about be useless
She's never done that. She's tried to "work hard" for the whole show, It's only now she's gotten a chance to do anything significant. She's just cried like a bitch this episode and kept sputtering out the same shit she's said all season.
Okay you are now clinically retarded. She even said in the episode that she has to change. She understands her limitations and hates the fact that she is looked upon as a helpless child. She said this shit in the episode.
The hell are you even babbling about?
>She's never done that.
There is literally a scene with her sitting in her room complaining to fumitan
>She's tried to "work hard" for the whole show
By doing fucking nothing but sitting around complaining? She once tried teaching, she once cut some vegge up. That is fucking all
>she's gotten a chance to do anything significant.
Are you trying to argue semantics or something? That would still mean she has not done shit even though she is in the same position now, all that changed was she got to do an interview
>kept sputtering out the same shit she's said all season.
The difference is that was after a hard days work when she was tired for a good fucking reason. And it wasn't the same shit, instead of wah I'm useless it is I am going to try even harder now
>There is literally a scene with her sitting in her room complaining to fumitan
And? That's not crying.
She complains about shit in the latest episode too. And cries.
>By doing fucking nothing but sitting around complaining? She once tried teaching, she once cut some vegge up. That is fucking all
My point is that only now she's gotten to do anything significant. She's been doing shit all the time to help out in small ways. Learn to read. Did you think once she got the opportunity she would NOT to anything? After she was the one who arranged this retarded trip?
>Are you trying to argue semantics or something? That would still mean she has not done shit even though she is in the same position now, all that changed was she got to do an interview
>instead of wah I'm useless it is I am going to try even harder now
So the same shit she's been doing all series. Kudelia is amazing, huh? I guess they brainwashed you too, fuckboy.
Semantics, seems to be all you do
>My point is that only now she's gotten to do anything significant
So now she is doing shit. There was nothing stopping her writing speeches and researching before.
>She's been doing shit all the time
2 episodes in tiny sections is not all the time
you've got nothing
no it isn't. Wah I'm useless and should give up vs now I must try harder is not the same.
>Type me a response that counters my argument or leave the thread.
Well you first
her saying I have to change still doesn't mean she hasn't already changed when you clearly see that from her actions. You want to comment on how this is totally getting a season 2 as you sort of dropped that?
I made my argument already. My argument was that Kudelia from the beginning of her appearance and to the point when Fumitan was murdered was living in her own idealistic bubble. The flashback of her giving candy to the orphan was the perfect illustration of the symbolism of her character. She didn't understand the realities of what her fight was about and truly in her core know the pain of loss. It was only after her best friend died protecting her after revealing to her she was a spy that reality awoken her. Gone were the days of stupid idealism of a child not seeing the bigger picture.
I am not arguing that she hasn't grown but that she has truly began her growth this episode in major way. She understands her limitations, knows she needs to change in a big way and understands the harsh reality of the world.
That is all I am arguing and nothing more.
Yeah, no. Kids want to see robot buttling. I was a kid once and this is like the Green Ranger having his own mechagodzilla but he barely uses it and spends half his time being in some kind of danger. You just feel blueballed.
They are trying to recreate the successes of 00 and Wing, but they(Okada?) just can't do it.
Wing was very political but delivered on the mecha fanservice and there was a sense that things were happening, even though the things happening were stupid. 00 did not have a shitload of fights and was political, but 00 had much, much better worldbuilding and its characters, while not sympathetic, were at least compelling and memorable.
IBO isn't bad, it's just so mediocre and so slow that it just numbs you. I feel like a cuck watching this show, like every week they hint things are going to change and I'll be able to get a nut off but then they yank it out of reach and I have to listen to more boring words coming out of Kudelia's derp face and two retards standing around softly expositing to each other.
Wing was a trainwreck near the end and was as you said just stupid.
00 characters memorable? What? They had the least memorable and boring cast in almost all of gundam.
Give me boring and slow over boring and stupid.
>there was a sense that things were happening, even though the things happening were stupid
This is all you needed to say as it sums it all up.
Wing has a huge amount of problems and 00 has less but still some biggens. But if we are talking about base level entertainment they both have stuff that will draw in some people in.
>Give me boring and slow over boring and stupid.
You'd rather be completely and utterly bored than mostly bored but occasionally have something to think about?
And IBO had an okay start a horribly boring middle and so far the last stretch seems to be continuing that
Nothing is suggesting that this ending is going to bolster the whole series and if anything everything suggests it will be horribly rushed
>they managed to generate more discussion, viewership, speculation and interest.
That's because of Urobuchi's name jackass, do you really think people would give a shit if his name wasn't plastered all over the damn product? It doesn't help your case that all discussion, viewership and speculation DROPPED as it went on to the point where when S2 started airing what was left were shipperfags.
>ambitious with the setting, the plot and there was something big they tried to tell us.
What? It's premise and setting WAS JUST LIKE ANY AVERAGE MECHA ANIME. The people who continue to spout this shit don't usually watch mecha anime because they think its all apped from the Wing/SEED department so seeing something they don't have experience with they call it ambitious. All A/Z showed that people like you are tools and easily swayed by bells and whistles and I'm glad it blew up it your faces. IBO had the same shit with people praising it to high heavens at first for doing absolutely nothing different and low and behold it turns out to be uninspired boring shitthe only difference is that it took more time for people to realize this than A/Z since people are still praising it despite it doing absolutely nothing just because its not kiddyshit or another Tomino anime. So don't give me this bullshit especially on /m/ of all places.
>hat's because of Urobuchi's name jackass
Yet people said the exact fucking same before IBO aired, just because Okada's name was plastered over it. People werent saying "Are you looking forward to the new Gundam?" it was more "Are you guys looking forward to the Okada Gundam? Ready for the melodrama and trainwreck?????"
But let's ignore that
>It's premise and setting WAS JUST LIKE ANY AVERAGE MECHA ANIME
No it wasn't
>The flashback of her giving candy to the orphan was the perfect illustration of the symbolism of her character
As it was Kudelia wanting to shake hands with Mika.
How did she change from that in the span of 30 minutes after Fumitan's death?
>she has truly began her growth this episode in major way
And what about all her decisions before that? Were they just a lot of nothing?
> She understands her limitations, knows she needs to change in a big way and understands the harsh reality of the world.
And was she not supposed to understand all this during the mafia episodes?
How the fuck was Wing a trainwreck near the end? Wing built up the cast finally working together after only pairing up for most of the series. Wing went somewhere with its plot. IBO is like a car stuck in the mud. It keeps spinning its wheels but goes nowhere. Every once in a while the car may move an inch which excites and gives the people watching hope but it'never moves. Now it's almost out of gas and the few fans are hoping someone somewhere is bringing another gas can.
>new lady is ibo's haman karn
Maybe she'll be able to terminate the scum.
