>making some of the the best cast members and extended family of the main character rapists in in alternate universe

>>
>>13840028
A few of the male gecko state members, like stoner, mathew ect. try to rape eureka in pocket full of rainbows.

They technically aren't the same people because the backstory for pocket full of rainbows is some alt reality fuckery after the show, but it was fucked up.

Whowever wrote it is a pretentious faggot.
>>
>>13840028
E7's movie takes place in an AU where the main villains are the counterparts of the main heroes of the original show. Thanks to a crazy science experiment they inadvertently caught a glimpse of the main E7 verse, and now they want to go there out of a desperate hope it will save their lives. To do this, they are effectively attempting to re-create the events of E7.

Thing is, movie Renton and Eureka are very much not the same people as the show versions. At one point they attempt to force Eureka to cooperate, and the whole scene pretty much looks like they're raping her.

Incidentally the core conceit of the film was "You shouldn't want to repeat old stories endlessly, you should embrace or try to create new ones". Which is fine, except to actually sell that the movie's original plot would've had to have been good.

(It wasn't.)
>>
Now AO on the other hand just had a fucking asshole as a writer. I think there's a quote attributed to him where he hates heroes and happy endings.

So of course he's the guy to write the sequel to a show that was all about a kid growing up and getting his happy ending.

It has a godawful ending (Eureka gets mind wiped, Renton is like sure why not, end) and Nirvash is now a mascot animal that never shuts the fuck up.

Skip it.
>>
>>13840069
Eureka 7 was the lovechild of mecha fanboys, the ending was going to be dark but they made it happy and kinda an unrealistic end to the situation because they couldn't help themselves, I remember some guy on /m/ showing me behind the scenes stuff, there was a lot of passion that went into making it and you can really feel it if you've seen a lot of older mecha shows.

I don't know anything about ao but I assume the core people behind the show bailed, since I was told they only had a hand in the games and movie. (which as said above the movie was some bitter pretentious nonsense because the creators of the show were salty they had a cult following that wanted a sequel to the show "oh no people like us and want more better be a huge hipster asshole about it")

take "looks like they're raping her" pretty lightly, IIRC they attack her and rip open the back of her shirt only to be smashed against the wall in a bloody mess by a piece of ejected Nirvash armor.

the only good thing about the movie was Nirvash with a pimp cane before AO mucked up the design with Nirvash Type V3.
>>
>>13840075
It's not a good movie in general
>>
>>13840075
So yeah, without Dai Sato around to help glue the director/other writers together, it all falls apart faster than a popsicle stick sculpture.
>>
>>13840089

I think it's more that Kyoda has a.... Dislike of heroic ideals than anything else. It's some weird sort of cynicism on his part.

He was the series' director as well, but the series had a host of other writes and someone other than him (Dai Sato) in charge of the series' composition.

Kyoda pretty much had free reign with the movie. And it shows.
>>
>>13840092
They were starting to doubt Eureka was really the girl they were looking for, and remembered that in the original show Eureka's skin was turning green and crap. And since they are literally manchildren, they decide the best way to confirm is to rip Eureka's clothes off.

If that was all it'd be one thing, but with the black and white filter, the focus on Renton staring in horror, and Eureka screaming, it's really, really, really obviously supposed to be evoking rape imagery.

Because you see, these fans of E7 are raping the franchise's potential by wanting the new stuff to be exactly like the old. This is an entirely tasteful visual metaphor.

Maybe I was in the wrong frame of mind at the time, but what's wrong with E7's ending? Aliens are like "oh, we can coexist - bye", Renton x Eureka vanilla, evil Nazi guy blows up (I think his last words were "/pol/ was right"), and all the good characters (e.g. the badguy admiral and his crew) make it out alive.
>>
>>13841000
The final episode was just kind of lame. Renton becomes a man and saves the day, basically. Pales in comparison to the previous few episodes where everyone was being pushed to their breaking points. The metaphysical sci-fi mumbo jumbo just kept piling on and was mostly unconvincing ("limit of questions" was plain stupid).

Bigger than that.
It's funny because you already missed the fucking point of both the original series and the final episode when you were babbling about Renton not having character development despite him already progressing quite a bit when the finale came around or the fact that this forced happy ending you keep bitching about was already forshadowed with those few hints about the nirvash being semi-alive.

TOP FUCKING KEK. The director outright stated that the happy ending was not planned and was something he pulled out his butt in the last minute which is why nothing about it makes sense...
>Why did the Nirvash wait until half the planet was in dire to reveal it was a talking super robot that can cross dimensions and make wishes come true?

It was a fucking mess but dumbfucks like YOU ignore that because "Renton and Eureka got together! Best ending ever!"for all its faults AO's ending actually did make sense but I guess because it wasn't happy and it ruined your precious OTP its worse than shit.
>>
I enjoyed E7. Started reminding me a bit too much of Brain Powered near the end, but it was overall more enjoyable. It felt very self contained and complete.
Why the hell did they think this, of any series, needed a sequel? I'm so afraid to watch it, because I already know they fuck up Eureka and Renton's happy ending, and continue the conflict between scub and humans.

Yeah.

Like, it would actually have a POINT if it was in a long running series that tends to repeat itself, like a Gundam AU.

But no. Instead we got it in the weirdest place possible to put that message.

"Hey, did you like that show we did? That one with the ending that leaves the door wide open for exploring the consequences of the events of the finale, as well as a younger generation of both heroes and villains ripe for use in future works?"
"Yeah!"
"You want more of that?"
"Sure."
"GO FUCK YOURSELF, THAT'S BAD AND YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD"
>>
>>13841599

I kept hoping it would get better.

Wishing that the final arc of the show might somehow bring all of this together and wrap things up in a satisfying way.

But I was wrong. So, so wrong.

God, the quality of the show would have increased a solid 10% just by something as simple as having Truth get what was coming too him. Instead, every time he got hit with something that he was explicitly vulnerable to and should kill him, his personal kryptonite, he just survived and got new bullshit powers without even an explanation.
>>

I liked the movie and the manga

E7 didn't have interesting characters or a tightly written plot. It was always about the artwork, the setting, the atmosphere. That's why I could forgive the show's abysmally slow pace. The manga and movie, for whatever else they didn't capture, I think the movie and manga nailed that part

But that's where you're wrong. All the same visuals and shit were there. The tone was somewhat different, but I didn't feel it was too far off from what the series had (though the obviously faster pace also gave it a bit of a different feel). Let's not act like the show was bright and optimistic the whole time, it wasn't a Brave show.

The big changes had to do with the plot and characters, and I'm sorry if these changes upset you so much that they made you perceive everything as different, but objectively, not everything was
>>
>>13842072

Dewey did. But there is an entire group of kids who directly oversaw his special projects, spied on his other forces to report back, and were fanatically loyal to him. Kids whose last order from Dewey was "Go and survive, the world to come will need your vision".

Maybe some of them can be de-programmed, but any number of those kids are villain material waiting to happen.
