Gunpla / Plamo General

***READ THE GUIDE***
For those new to gunpla/plamo or even just new to this thread; please read the guide. Please read it before asking questions as there is a chance it has already been answered there.
For those unfamiliar, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.
If you're new, you're gonna fuck up. Don't worry! If you're experienced, don't make the new people worry!
>Why won't anyone answer my question?
Try being specific, especially about your materials and process. Post pictures whenever possible; even if the kit/part looks bad, you are more likely to get help posting pictures.

Our next Group Build!
Basically what this means is that rather than the mobile suit being fresh out of a factory, it's quite the opposite. Whether it's trudging through dense jungles or dodging debris in asteroid belts, your mobile suit has seen some better days.
You've been out in the field for quite a long time now, nearly half a year of active duty in the front lines and your personal mobile suit's pretty banged up. What's worse is the fact that there isn't a maintenance bay within several thousand kilometers of your local area that's capable of making any major repairs. Your unit's engineering crew has resorted to patch work and jury-rigging to keep your machine operational. Stray fire might have crippled its legs and arms or otherwise dealt considerable damage to a mobile suit's systems meanwhile some units have simply lost bits of armor and panels to the elements and have been forced to patch weld metal sheets over the exposed inner workings.
In any case it's beaten to hell but somehow you and your team have somehow kept it chugging along and now command's ordered all units operating in your theatre to fall back to form a defensive line against the enemy offensive.

So who else loves the new MG Freedom 2.0's crooked V-Fin? just me? Anyone else? no?
Zaku 1 is okay, GM 1 is extremely dated but is also only 500 yen.
The original Zaku 2 is extremely outdated, so you should buy one of the more modern versions of the kit like the High Mobility or F2.
Nope. These are already the finished product images. Also what's wrong? I think it's cool how it looks nothing like the old freedom anymore. All mobile suits should get a 2.0 where they're completely redesigned to move away from the ugly original designs anyway.
What are they fixing/changing with this 2.0? Any concrete info?
I fear moving his wings because it makes crunchy noises and it takes more strength than normal. I don't know if they can actually break doing that or not, but I'd rather not risk it since i already accidentally broke the left skirt cannon.
Basically a complete redesign/copy of Destiny Gundam.
- More pointy edges. Everywhere.
- Unnecessary fins on every part they can put it on. Specially the wing binders.
- Weird gimmicks that the actual Freedom Gundam never had in the anime/concept/manga/game whatever version.
- Finally dropped katoki's ugly "freakish long disproportionate legs and super short torso" in favor of "Super Skinny Anorexia Fashion Model" proportions.
- Resized "Tinier Beam Rifle ©"
- New and improved "Crooked V-Fin ™"
Guys i think i'm the most retarded persion alive
>After a long painting session some paint clogged my airbrush, only air comes out.
>Tried cleaning it with thinner but nozzle is still blocked.
>Had super bright idea of heating up the airbrush with hot water from the tap (a technique i use to open hard to open paint bottles)
>Some paint flow out
>Putting the needle in
>mfw the nozzle shrunk after cooling down from the heat and it's so small that needle can't get through anymore.
I don't know man, here's a blurry pic of it. The needle is all the way in and it's barely poking its tip out. I tried putting some thinner in there and waited a few hours in hope that it's dried paint but didn't work.
Alright men, post your backlogs and have /gpg/ decide what you build next

the bottom parts of the legs look like they are missing something
1. unscrew the nozzle
2. take off the rubber o-ring
3. drop the nozzle into the strongest thinner you have (preferably hardware store lacquer thinner)
4a. put container of lacquer thinner into your ultrasonic cleaner and give i a few rounds
4b. if lacking an ultrasonic cleaner just leave the nozzle in there for a day or two occasionally aggitating it
Since when did you get so aggressive? Last I checked you were going for the "oh I'm just a stupid kid, what's a panel line" shtick. Did you get tired of it so now you're going for the traditional "be an asshole" trolling. Good on you.
>tfw I only snapfit Gunpla
>tfw I don't see how unusual and edgy it is to warrant a tripcode
I just want to build Gunpla...
Guess it's my turn, I need to pick an idea for a GWBC entry
>Kshatriya/Kshatriya Repair kitbash
I think it's totally fine to not do anything to your gunpla. Like you spent your money, you do what you want with it. But when it comes to posting to the internet, most people don't care about unpainted/detailed stuff. It's like "why would I care that you did something that I could easily do too." If you've got a personal blog or something then post whatever, but /m/ is not the place (unless you're asking for criticism or help of course)
Got it as a present from my brother, didn't do the best job assembling it but I think it turned out ok.
The little spots over the green pieces aren't nub marks, I didn't notice little shavings sticking to the model with static from how I was putting it together until just now.
I'd love an RG version.

I' don't know why I've always had a thing for Vayeate and Mercurius.
Maybe because Wing was my first gundam (or mecha in general) series in early teens and I got a strange boner over the whole super beam that can only be stopped by the shield and the shield that can even stop the super beam thing.
I tend to be rather fond of the kits' stock colors, so it's mostly detail painting that I do. The reason for the large backlog is due to a combination of real life/work and moving at a snail's pace to finish one kit.

I file nubs, sand them with a fine grit, then panel line, I just don't do anything beyond what is "advertised", if you get my meaning.
Yea, I get your meaning, but when most could churn out a HG GM in two hours, I take far longer while making a kit as I love the process of seeing how things come together.
I can see how one of my HG Zaku II's isn't going to be as impressive as a custom-painted, kitbashed Gouf that is a part of a diorama. When I am looking at Gunpla on the internet, I wouldn't be drawn to something unless there is something special about it either, the only thing I could really do is pose my models in unique ways.
Two can play this game!
GUESS WHAT CAME IN THE MAIL!!
Finished the Kimaris for now. Pretty happy with how it turned out for the most part. Will go back to it later for a more fine clean up, and finish lining the legs. On to the Ryusei-Go next, I guess
Spent the last few hours test fitting this beauty.
Everything fits alright, some minor surface blemishes and a couple of bubbles to drill out and fill, and a lot of fat pour tabs to smooth out.
Then plan out where metal parts will go, besides the metal waist and head tubing.
Knives will probably attach with magnets so no paint gets damaged with pegs.
I cant ever imagine bandai making spikes this fucking sharp.
HG BF models always feel more like a toy with tons of kitbash possibilities than a japanese sci-fi model.
that red "fix" on ankle armor looks like a blotch of ketchup, i need to fix the fix later.
Massive spikes aside, I do like. I feel like I'd enjoy the Efreet even more if it had smaller shoulders though, I feel like those massive monsters would only hinder it more than help.
Why is it that my favorite Zeon unit gets the least love?
And i spent too much time playing with them
> Watching AGE
> Really love Woolf's all-white designs.
> Decide to look up prices on Ebay.
> Genoace is decent, but I don't like the horn.
> G-Exes reminds me of Tomino's original pitch for the Gundam. I could buy a RG for that price.
> G-Bouncer is expensive as fuck.
This is Dynames all over again.
I love doing that, I spent a while making my MK. II + build mk ii extra parts into some sort of dog so they wouldn't be useless
But that's the whole fun of the HGBF line. And Build Fighters in general.
I'm going to literally kill you.
I remember having a lot of fun when working on this kit
File nubs and panel line, yes. Hell, I even mess around with using my Gundam Markers to make custom paint jobs.
Trust myself with a delicate task that requires both the use of nail polish remover AND fine dexterity? Nope.
...Lemme get my camera.
Working on a Zeek Mk. I that will never get finished
Reposting this from /toy/. This Jegan must have really enjoyed 08th MS, it stole the weaponry ideas of the Gouf Custom.
is that the shield from the last parts campaign? how did you attach the gatling gun?
For the moment just sanding and blutac, eventually when finishing up the model I'll come up with a more permanent solution through the use of putty/plastic cement. Does it look convincing?
I've seen a few kitbashes of this, but most weren't 100% accurate, which oddly bothers me. This was the best I've been able to find.
Indeed, still working on the color scheme. This seem ok? Suggestions of schemes welcome, please. No camo, and I'll be flat coating.
It nearly beat the nigh-invincible god custom despite being a poorly constructed snap-fitted piece of shit.
In the end, Build Burning only won by raw power. Its pilot were they on equal grounds spec-wise would have wiped the floor with him and would be an absolute monster.
its the white astraea hg kit, but it does come with the mask/visor parts
Put on some decals I had left over from my RGs.
They're completely not thematically correct so some people might cringe, depending on how anal they are about shit being lore-friendly, But I just wanted to make it a bit busy and it works fine for me.
So Bandai's going to be releasing non-scale kits for that new Macross show. Gotta admit, I'm kinda hyped even though they won't be transforming. It'll be nice to finally have an affordable VF-171.
irish green is cool and all, but I wanted something a bit different with this one
Only thing i have physically left in my BL is MG Rick-Dom
i have the MG Gouf 2.0 on the way though. defintely considering either EB Destiny or some type of RX-78-2 since i dont like how fragile my 3.0 is
its for storage you chunky fucker
do you seriously not use storage bins or not know what they are for?
Nice. I just finished mine this evening
I seriously don't. I have my kits all over my room.
you dont store the completed kits in a box, thats just his backlog. holy shit
Second test on the X1 Anti-beam cloak. literally took a cheese grater to it since i figure just cutting scars into it wouldnt look that good. they dont show much in the pick but in the front of the cloak i poked some holes and marked them with black marker.
Anything else to do to it? i thought of spray or dipping it but i dont want to limit posablity

To be fair, he didn't say that.

Why so bitter and grudge bearing?
Finished off the G-Exes Jackedge last night, it was pretty fun. I don't know if I'll get the Shaldoll Rouge though to finish off the Bisidian trio (since I already have the Dark Hound).
I also moved around my kits so that they're by generation now (Gen 1 and 2 kits on one shelve, Gen 3 on another).
Whats a good hobby mat? looking to get one, but dont know what to get.
I'm going by show only, yeah.
I was thinking of getting the G-Xiphos at one point, but then I decided not too.
The only kits I need now are:
And the Shaldoll Rouge, if I do decide to get it.
Nope, didn't want to gamble on the torso being sturdy
This anon got it
really bandai? reeeeeeeeeeeeeeaalllllyyyy?
>all those translucent plastic joints
I didn't know gunpla could get drastically more fragile like that. I'd be afraid to even open the box or breath in the kit's general direction. In the very least, I'd feel obligated to basically put it in a case with ten locks and take some blood oath to never touch it again in my life. Could that even come through the mail without breaking?
Anon... (assuming you are a foreigner) either learn English and stop using Google translate (I'm greek, I know the struggle) or if you are an amerifat or canacuck...you need to learn your native fucking language.
If you can't write English like normal human bean you shouldn't be posting on image boards that aren't in your native language.
There's no excuse, really. English is fucking easy.
This is coming from a goddamn Mexican of all people.
Machine translations can indeed spew some wonderful retardese.
How is Dalong in Greek?
Because the kit was so simple it includes custom parts like GM custom head and tons of various weapons. It had different armor parts like for space and ground GN as well as GM II and III parts
It was pretty sweet
Couldnt agree more
Depends anon. They're a lot tougher than you think
It's pretty kekworthy
Take a look at the rest
Doesn't hurt that it has a long dick too.
dont know for sure, it comes with the MG X1 ver Ka. i could use a actual cut from a old shirt or something but it would seem too thick compared to what you get.
i'll fully admit i'm trying to make the cloth look more like this.
>There's no excuse, really. English is fucking easy.
wew lad you are fucking retarded. I'm glad you had such an easy time with it but for foreigners that don't have English as their native language and haven't grown up ever hearing it often, it can be extremely difficult to learn. Aside from having to learn to learn things like how to differentiate from words that sound exactly the same like to, too, and two, or words like, their, and they're, a lot of things conveyed in the English language are conveyed by tone as well. This gives multiple meanings to sentences or phrases that are the exact same identical combination of words.Stuff like that is just the tip of the iceberg.
English IS really easy compared to other languages, m80.
But I guess I had it easier because I never really liked
You should try learning spanish, accentuation and the gender denominations of everything drives foreigners crazy.
I'm a native english language speaker and I thought spanish was pretty fucking easy. Yeah you guys assign genders to inanimate objects for whatever reason, but once you learn what the gender of whatever you're talking about, you just apply the correct sentence structure accordingly. Also a decent amount of spanish words are the same or sound very similar to their english counterpart. Pantalones for example is pretty easy to figure out means pants. Whereas with the english language pants could be referring to an article of clothing or the way someone is breathing.
Nah. See the difference here is that your kit has an ABS inner frame that's solid.
THAT thing's inner frame is made out of the exact same plastic that makes up the armor on your kit. That shit is fragile as fuck.
>The Big Inge

The gouf's lost in the mail somewhere but I'm sure he'll turn up, the neograde conversion kit's waiting for him.
> Aegis gets a MG after a decade.
> Justice gets a RG, but over a decade later no MG.
> Savior gets nothing.
> IJ gets a MG, but no special kit like the "Extreme Blast Mode" or "Full Burst mode." No RG to go with SF and Destiny.
> No Justice Revive to go with the Freedom.
I'm starting to think Athrun's MS sells far less than Shinn or Kira's.
You will get the same results as long as your brush strokes are even and the coats are thin.
But my rule of thumb is
air brush large areas
Hand brush details and trouble spots
Which is why i have not gotten an air brush yet because I have not needed to paint whole areas yet except when making custom colors
As the first HGUC Gelgoog and a 2000 model, you should expect the common quality of that time. I don't have it, but from Dalong I can see it has basic articulation enough to get a normal shooting pose with the gun it has. No clue if you wanted to give it a heavy weapon.
If I remember correctly, the antenna helps boost communication range, that's usually why you see them on commander variants of suits, and a commander needs to keep in communication with people he is working with.
Of course, a sniper could also benefit from longer communication ranges as well since snipers tend to be a support unit, so being able to coordinate better is something that would be pretty nice to have.
Good thing I browsed the /toy/ thread when I did
There's also a resin kit in the same scale that sells for like a bazillion dollars.
Don't like certain aspects to a kit? Mod it sucka!
>Ship order from HLJ at beginning of January through SAL containing Revive Qubeley and a Ness Amiibo
>Ship another order with RG Wing EW a few IBO kits and some transformers with EMS last week
>Both get here yesterday
A lesson to myself never to ship SAL ever again
I'd agree the armor parts are more brittle and fragile. But i have reason to suspect that it has the same abs or PC plastic that is transparent
Or else, everyone would be complaining. I didnt hear any complaints from the mirage colloid blitz though. So i'd say its still solid
I'm tempted to get it myself if it weren't for the glittery armors
How many people have gotten the Mirage Colloid Blitz though? It ain't many (unfortunately).
Regardless, it's not ABS I can tell you that much.
I have the Ver RG in 1/144 scale, and it's brittle as fuck plastic.
So many movable parts, so hard to find a few good poses.
Did customs touch it though? Some britbong said he never got hit by customs with SAL, but EMS is always cheaper for big boxes anyway so I'm conflicted, but I'd rather pay less money for another box on the back log then pay customs/VAT
MFW building rg mkII and I don't have enough wire for the bp even after you cut it exact
Done with most of the bodywork on my zaku tank.
I have some cleanup to do on parts that I just did the first pass of primer on, and I still have to do the chest scribing so that's just smooth for now.
Very happy with how the kit has worked out considering how small it is.
Here's how the kit looks OOB
>As the One Year War dragged on, the Zeon forces found themselves in desperate need of replacement mobile suits and other weaponry's. Forced to salvage whatever they could, field workshops would often disassemble inoperable machines for use as replacement parts and cobble together new units from whatever was available in order to get more combat units to the field. One of the most common variations was the Zaku Tank, created from mounting a Zaku torso, head and arms onto the hull of a Magella Attack Tank. These units were prized by field commanders, starved for replacement mobile suits and used for both combat and support duties.
That's cute but it doesn't change what I said at all. It's a tank where all the guns point forward and don't move, and the turret has grappling arms. This would be like if someone designed a real tank, and all the guns like the machinegun and the cannon stuck out of the front and the turret was a crane. I know it's a plastic giant robot toy but it should at least make sense.
You sure are worried about the use of the word "tank"
It's just a tracked support vehicle
Towards the end of the One Year War, the Zekes were increasingly fighting a retreating war as they fell back to their launch sites to return to Space and/or Side 3.
Thus entrenching was utilized often, mostly to slow Feddie advances. The guns are fixed because they only need to face the direction the enemy is coming from, and more often then not, that's directly in front.
Yes, entrenching is a stupid tactic, and if you're forced to entrench, that means you've already lost, which is true for the Zekes. Canonically, they lose the OYW. Zekes ALWAYS lose the OYW. There'll never be a story, universe or game where they do not lose the OYW. Cause the Zekes always lose the OYW.
Is about as canon as any Marvel What-If story
Now go play drunk uno with your friends!
built a 1/1 scale ghetto shelf to have more space for shit
pretty sure someone just bent the fuck out of it. Or it was already bent inside the box. If you look at other images, it isn't bent. Feel free to call bullshit since we won't know until the sexy beast releases.

no you are the retard as everyone that speaks more than one language knows english is the easiest. i grew up speaking russian until i was 13 and learned english within a month once i moved to the US. try learning any other language and you'll get how easy english is, relative to most other languages
