>Awaken/Enable can only be used once per phase.
Fair enough. Wouldn't be able to completely squeeze a boss out in 1 turn with an SRX.
>Strike only works for the next encounter
Well, not only is this the case in OE... it's also only +60% at most so beaten to the punch.
>Fortitude reduced to 3/4 reduction
I might be drunk but that's already close to being the case in Z3?
>Guard reduced to 1/4 reduction
I hope it's really cheap then.

UNITS ONLY DEBUT
So I just had a dream about the finale of the Z series, since in the dream I apparently forgot it already happened as a disappointment.
It was a Z shaped stage in space, tons of Gaiou clones as mooks, some weird giant abomination and TTGL shit where every unit got super big but it wasn't infinite size, it was Z size.
The should've hired me to write the game. That sounds way cooler than what we got.
Here you go brah.
>ZENSOKU ZENSHIN DA!
There's no mecha show they can't push in just because of logic or plot reason, especially in a series where a scopedog has Shin Getter's damage potential.
check these quads /srwg/
MAJIKKU KAADO HATSUDOU! BOUGYORIN!
The only way I can think of is shows that don't have similar themes or messages? You can bullshit away stuff like Knightmares existing in a world with Getters but there needs to be a reason they're in the same world to begin with.
Which is why I like the Z series the most honestly, I feel like they all fit together. Gundam Wing, Gundam 00 and Code Geass fit, for instance.
>shows that don't have similar themes or messages?
Not even that, what does Nadesico: PoD have in common with Machine Robo, Gear Fighter Dendo and G-Gundam?
What does FMP have to do with Zeorymer, Combattler, Brain Powerd and Mazinkaiser?
It's fun.Don't think too much about it.
Someone was talking about this a few days ago, so I looked it up and translated a few things:
There was interference from the EOT Special Council (and because it was disliked by politicians) to mass produce Gespenst despite being the first personal trooper so it was delayed and the Lion series and MP Huckebein got selected instead.
It's a plan launched by Gilliam and Kai to strengthen the Gespenst Series because they were disatisfied with the treatment of the series by the Federation.
Halloween Plan was born from Gespenst lovers for Gespenst lovers. The idea is to upgrade the unit for veteran aces who enjoy the unit to make it equal to a luxury/strong customized unit.
MP Gespenst Kai used data from Shadow Mirror's Mass Produced Gespenst as a reference, so it's equipped with a Tesla Drive and powerful melee and ranged weapons.
>Halloween Plan was born from Gespenst lovers for Gespenst lovers.
AKITO* AND HIKARU
FRIENDS FOR NO REASON
DOUBLE CLAMP IN SRW WHEN
*The Code Geass one, not the Nadesico one.
There's nothing wrong with two characters being friends or knowing each other from the beginning. For instance a Z Gundam/CCA Amuro probably already knows someone like Macross 7 Max or post-Seed Kira or Mu.
The actual characters that are used in the meme ironically doesn't fit at all, but I think there are some actual ones like JOSH AND GYUNEI (because Gyunei is generally a dickwad with no redeemable factors)
For that anon who wanted a little more Kallen.
Indeed. A lot of the bullet hell-inspired mechanics would feel out of place in SRW. That said, most of the game design changes are strictly for the better, and I'd love to see some of them in actual SRW. In particular, the weird gimmick skills on bosses are an excellent idea, and make boss fights quite a bit less boring.
But really, I'm not sure if SRW would be able to pull it off. First of all, the gimmicks only reach their full potential as a gameplay tool when boss fights are done in phases, plus we all know how much SRW hates anything resembling real difficulty.
There's a reason "how do we improve SRW's gameplay" discussions typically devolve into discussions of FMW mechanics, though. The games are brilliantly designed.
真マジンガー 衝撃! Z編
機動戦士ガンダム00 -A wakening of the Trailblazer-
Hell if I know.
Related to the series they haven't used yet though, do King Gainer units or people show up sometime in Chapter 2? Because GOOD LORD there's a lot of them in the intermissions for this event.
Only complaints is that three Braves may be a bit too much, especially when you have two Transformers.
But then, Braves and Transformers mix so well that you may as well use three of the former and two of the latter. Quite the pickle.
They revamped the weapon properties in NEO so it's a lot more interesting and probably the best part of the system.
You gain SP from dealing and taking damage instead of having to ration it.
There's a heavy emphasis on flanking which unlike something like the Z series kind of minor 10% bonus, fully surrounding the enemy on all 4 sides gives you a massive hit bonus + double damage... of course, the enemy can do the same to you (but they're kinda too moronic unless you intentionally charge into the middle of them)
They kept Shinji and Asuka wearing those in Alpha, yet three games later, for Alpha 3's usage of Gundam SEED, Murrue's attire in the usage of SEED's first episodes is not that orange foreman uniform. See 24:54 of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOBOGaEQ4yc&index=17&list=PL2ECCA3F78DF070FB and 0:39 of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqVBMW3vcO0&list=PL2ECCA3F78DF070FB&index=18.
Another reason to enjoy SRC, for when they just want to be batshit crazy or silly with their stuff.
So I was thinking of some interactions between different series for my idea and thought of this:
Sym Bionic Titan
>Related to the Tekkamen in a way
>Knows about the Zambot crew and Godmars
>NERV Nevada is built near a Kindergarten
>Hertodyne are related to the Angels
>Everyone who who's anything about aliens hate the gems
>Theres a lot of implications of a alt history in the show, so we can possibly factor in Evangelion
Ramial is actually not a angel but a Homeworld tool
> Hetrodyne are kinda like the Angels
>NERV Vs 21st Cen. Funding Shenanigans
I really don't know what Gundam rep can fit with this, I'm thinking wing or a universe where axis dropped
Probably Future Boy Conan, in which the mecha is more of a part of the setting than an intergral part of the story than anything.
Granted, the three guys do jack a machine gun station on the Giganto near the end, so that's something.
I'd be okay with this.
Jagi from Hokuto in an Aquarion, Vegeta in the Falguen from Dragonar, Cirno, and Draco Malfo in the Shin Dragon.
SRC is a hell of a drug.
Who has the best Gespenst S. kick scream and why is it Kyosuke?
All the people who want to see FMW's systems in SRW seem to forget that Banpresto is awful at game design in general. You want the spellcard system? Well sure, but it'll have the most boring effects imaginable and little to no variety.
I hope you enjoy every single endgame boss having Break Accuracy Limit, Chain Attack Bonus, and I dunno fucking Indomitable Will, why not.
Oh and FMW's strong emphasis on Support Defense/Attack formations will just get shot in the foot by ridiculously huge damage numbers making it all pointless. Friendship min-maxing too is screwed thanks to the whole "only the protagonist and maybe the rival of each show are actually worth deploying" thing and there's always little to no cross series friendships so that's not going to help bridge that gap.
Am I missing anything? Oh, right, Personal Skills., Yeah have fun with sixty different flavors of Do More Damage At 120 Will.
Basically having the coolest game mechanics in the world doesn't mean shit if the game itself is shittily designed/balanced. Just look at, well, OE.
Backstory for the novel is she was being abducted and raped by terrorists at young age, and her father at high place disliked her because of that. She then becomes allergic to male.
Nanase from Macross F. There is some 34 of her... Not much.
Except Luca, but he may as well be a girl anyway.
...on my computer. I'll post it later if it isn't up when I get home.
I like OGs better.
OG Gaiden is less fun to replay because of the beginning, IMO. The game doesn't even start to really get fun until post-Jurgens.
The Bartool(?)/Mironga arc is awful.
Despite being an early-starter (October 7th) , I only have three units in X-O that can reach level 65 or higher, and none of this was due to gacha draws. Two were event rewards (SSR Imber and SR Sazabi), and one was maxed-out with S-Chips (SR Van Ein).
>literally word for word translation
Google translate BTFO
The only ones I have are Mazinger Z JS, SR Shooter Aegis Gundam, SR Sazabi, SSR Sazabi (but not Powered, I couldn't even get ahold of that), Imber, Lancelot, and... actually, I think that's it.
I'm actually sort of glad I got fucked on my last 40 rolls, because all those rares were worth S-Chips. The only Rares I have right now are my maxed-out Venus A because Repair and Trust+, and my starter Van Ein because the game won't let me get rid of it. Everything else is SR or SSR, and then I keep a bunch of C/UC units around to make hitting landmarks on "max out limit breaks" easier.
Fucking wish you could exchange 2k Friendcoins for a random rare so I could grind up the S-Chips needed for 5 SR Kallens.
Well, you'll be able to get a lot of Aquarions in this event, at least. I'm already on my first SSR after two runs from max AP to minimum, with a max-limit-break SR, and I'm moving towards the second one. At this rate I'm going to actually get the Powered version.
I just didn't expect the same kind of
awesomeshit for an OG
Yeah, I know. I think I'm only at 11 kills.
On a sidenote: I switched Tieria's spirit to Valor to make taking Aquarion down a little easier if pick him. And I wish I could get 2 more SR Shooter Virtues from a gacha somewhere. It's been such a useful unit for such a long time.
I think I'm at 20?
>I switched Tieria's spirit to Valor to make taking Aquarion down a little easier if pick him.
I noticed. Of course, most of my killing is probably going to be SEVEN SWORD ASSAULT SEVEN SWORD ASSAULT SEVEN SWORD ASSAULT, but that's situation normal, really.
>most of my killing is probably going to be SEVEN SWORD ASSAULT
Well, in case the game decides to give you nothing but meter for Shooters, you can do GN BAZOOKA GN BAZOOKA GN BAZOOKA.
That's happened to me before. I had a 3/2 team of Attackers and Shooters and went 1/9 in favor of Shooters for meter.
Thats literally what Shin said though
THOU ART THE!
...fuck. I now got this idea in my head where Gundam is a fantasy series and the robots are just magical suits of armor. And the battleships are magitek landships/airships.
This has been done before, hasn't it? Not Gundam, but something else.
No robots at all. Something that's a cross between Ryu Knight, Saint Seiya, and Rayearth or something. And if nobody's ever made that, that's fine. I was just wondering if someone put that idea into practice or not.
>you do know his translations are from fucking google translate and improvised by him right? the guy is a goddamn fucking retard
Really? Because I've done google translations before, and I think even I've done a better job than that.
Heh, a download I found with what I believe is a pretty up to date collection of robot data made for SRC includes stuff like Gamera (no Godzilla though), Mothra, Star Trek, and even real-life fighter planes, I think.
I don't know, as long as it's got cool animations and my favorite series in it, I'm behind it all the way, and having a great story helps.
But shaking things up would honestly be nice, and it's kind of fun to discuss.
It'd be nice to discuss how to make a boss difficult/challenging to combat without it being complete horeshit/Giant HP Sponge with MAP attack, but as long as you have seishin, it kind of makes it hard to do so.
Tomino is the same guy who named people "Shot Weapon" and "Quattro Bageena"
that second one was a pseudonym, admittedly, I wouldn't be surprised if it really was referring to ASAP.
No, it's supposed to be "ASAP". As in "As Soon As Possible".
His parents were military and like 50% of the people in Wings of Rean are fucking idiots, this shouldn't be so shocking.
Oh, fair enough then.
Amusingly enough, the guy who directed the New Story OVA tried too hard to emulate Tomino and wound up doing a bad entry (not helped with Sirbine itself having even less budget in its movement than Godmars).
Man, J's balance was pretty shitty. Granteed has no business being so much better than the other alternatives. I mean, his second to last attack is as strong as the finishers of the other two, and its actual finisher completely blows the others away.
Its actually better here than in the original.
Granteed's basic grunt killer attack was 200 points weaker than Coustwell's finisher, had no will requirement and was free.
At least here, Granteed has to worry about EN efficiency and isn't on the same upgrade tier anymore.
I was looking at the pastebin about English availability, and it says the translation for SRW 3 is of "poor quality." Is it just that the translators made shit up as they went along, or did the editors do a bad job of proofreading, or is it both?
King Gainer, Gain, and Sara also show up. And a couple of people I don't recognize too, probably from the new series on the cast list.
I'm slightly surprised Renton and Eureka haven't popped up, but then, I haven't done every event stage yet. Just the first five or so.
Not necessarily the most original idea to be fair. I doubt Godannar was the first to use it anyway, and it most certainly was not the last with several cases. Nice shit taste by the way.
Most people here seem to be running either all-Shooter or 3/4 Shooter with a leader Attacker. Stick something like that on a fast, strong guy, and by the time the boss comes out it'll be death incarnate.
Man, I have far to go.
Welp. Time to bust out that 5x speed mode this thing comes with.
I'm running 2 Attackers (SSR Mazinger Z-JS and SR Original Lv70+max upgrades) and 2 Shooters (2LB Virtue and Lv60+max attack Venus A). Repair and Trust+ is too good to pass up and I really fucking hope there's an SR someday but I doubt it. Or there's a different SR someday that has it.
XCOM 2 just dropped but there's an hour wait because the game needs to unpack, which means I have to wait at least another hour before I can dive into the character creator and make all the 00 characters.
You had me at Star Trek
It's that time again
白騎士物語 -古の鼓動- II
I actually tried to get this one in order this time, but chances are I probably screwed that up somewhere too but I won't worry too much.
Finding a thing on SRC that's basically everything that's open to the community, more or less, between robots and human-sized units, has opened a lot of avenues for new insanity. Well, maybe not that many, but a few, anyway.
Anyway, I'm easy to please, I'd play your game.
I don't recognize the last two entries though, because it's all kanji.
For the record, I had this planned long before SRC got popular again, but it did give me a bit of inspiration with God Mazinger and Xenogears.
And the last two aren't even in SRC, I've been meaning to bug SRC modder anon if he would add that if he had time. I'll give you hint with it, it's not an anime, but a video game, and not a very good one too.
Which /m/ would you full of the beating?
Yeah, I noticed when scanning over everything in the document I got today. Well, it's probably pretty crazy to think that SRC would have just about everything. Though it certainly does help in going crazy with the lists.
I trust your judgment to make a coherent list more than my own; I just like plopping random names together and seeing if anything sticks.
Considering the source, probably Leonard, because my god I recently finished that game after getting the idea and I truly wish I hadn't. To give you an idea, it was written by Hino. That should tell you everything you need to know.
I usually like to at least plan a theme and try to think of a scenario where each of them can exist at the same time without massive plot holes in between them. I know I've had to drop series because the settings just make no goddamn sense in the end, like how Code Geass can't realisticly fit with any series that takes place in a perfectly peaceful Japan
Unless you want to go alternate japan shit like Z2 did and I really don't want to do thatand it's just one big mess.
Looks interesting, but I don't know all the series so I can't comment on how the plot's going to work, and there's a lot of Supers in there.
Oh, and, uh, Daltanius's early parts are pretty big on the fact that Earth was taken over by aliens and nothing else really fits that so much, have to point that out.
Defenders big thing is that they're immune to ALL FORMS OF KNOCKBACK. This includes boss attacks which have that ability, like, say, Alejandro Corner's big battleship thing.
I found the stages fighting him were trivialized because Imber would sit right next to him, take all his basic attacks for minimal damage and continue pounding him because he can't get it away. And his special didn't do shit since a tanky defender laughs at that stuff.
Until the 11th.
Fantasy/Post-Apoc? Interesting. Though, I'd expect things like Gun X Sword on plots like that.
this reminds me of that thing I want to actually write one day that's a fantasy/post apoc mech series. One day.
Post Apoc wasn't really what I was going for but I could make that work. Really I was going for a fusion of Magitec and Steampunk with the setting, but if Post-Apoc works with that already set up stuff then it would make sense. It kinda ties into the one I posted earlier so it fits, I just never really thought of it.
And I thought about GunXSword, and I might throw it in anyway, but I feel like it might be too convoluted as is. Hell, I'm already thinking of cutting out the Lamune's, as they don't really contribute much and just take up space and we've already got our hands full plot wise with
80% of the villains working for Drake, the Helldragons, alternate dimensions and all of the mindfuckery that is Xenogear's endgame plot. Miang is gonna be a treat to write, let me tell you that much.
Turn A and Zoids Genesis imply that much, at least.
Oh, and one other thing. Get some goddamn Supers on that cast list. The way it looks now, the only tanks you'll have are things like Bio Volcano, Deadly Kong, and maybe Ryu High Priest Baurus.
>and there's a lot of Supers in there.
That always seems to be the problem in my lists, doesn't it? I like Supers, what can I say. Besides which, without proper knowledge, I don't know what really constitutes reals aside from Gundams, Macross, and stuff like Layzner, but then you get into stuff in the gray area like Transformers, Tekkaman Blade and the like.
I guess the plot will have to change a little bit then. While I was still mostly going for random application here, it was random application under the theme of "lots of space, lots of aliens." Even abandoned my usual eternal inclusion of a Getter and a Mazinger (unless you count Duke).
Surely there's something salvageable out of my list, at least; I'd like to think no fake list, no matter how insanely put together, is completely irredeemable.
I thought the Rayearth's, Galient, God Mazinger and the Gears would be pretty bulky, and the Incorruptus would be fairly tanky as well, cause they were similar to that ingame. If I keep Lamune there's Kaiser Fire, and I could still throw GunXSword in there to fill the void.
Don't think of it so much in terms of Real and Super, then. Look at it as "now, which of these robots are built to take hits more, and which are built to dodge?"
The Nagahama Quartet are 50+ meters tall, they tank. Grendizer is smaller but is notably made of an indestructible alloy, it tanks. Zambot is also pretty goddamn big, it tanks. Daiohja... Actually, I remember it only being like 35m or something? But it still tanks. Ideon's over 100 meters fucking tall, it's obvious what it does. Gunbuster? Well... Gunbuster IS.
So for dodgier things, look at robots which are more highly mobile, smaller, lighter, faster, not dependent on armor. Transformers, Tekkaman Blade, Jeeg, and King Gainer fall here, even if they're not really Reals.
Oh right, God Mazinger. Not sure on Rayearth or the Gears, so maybe? But Galient is a light, fast, mobile mech built for hit-and-run combat, and not for taking hits.
SRC had the final Rayearth at higher HP than 80% of battleships in that game so I think I'm ok there. They had Weltall at something of a Hybrid, so there's that. And ok I'll give you Galient, I'll admit it's one of those few things I haven't seen so I just go off of stats that I find, and it seemed fairly super-ish in SRC.
>built for hit-and-run combat
(I should note that once it gets the Assault pack, it also gains ludicrously good firepower for the setting, but even with that it's not meant to fight in prolonged melee combat. Lambert's Panzer Blade is a bit more suited to that, and even it's not that great for hit taking).
It's basically a Scopedog that's two times as big as other Scopedogs, less can shaped and more human shaped, and it can transform into a bird. Also it has cannons and a whipsword.
Well yeah, but I don't think anyone ever accused Ideon of dodging too much.
I thought about adding Orgun in as well, along with...hmm, probably Trailblazer and some more Macross stuff or something, but I was hoping somehow to make the list not too Earth-centric in where it would end up. Take the fight to alien planets, travel the endless frontier of space, boldly go and all that jazz.
Which would probably require a hell of a lot of rewrites on what I have already, but eh. This is all just spitballing for fun and discussion anyway, after all.
Heroic Age? Give us access to Telebro?
If that's the case, then I'll just scratch that off the list. What kind of super could I add to a setting like this? Adding GunXSword might require a bit of a rewrite here and there already, but throwing a random mech series into a fantasy setting might be slightly more difficult than the standard setting these kinds of games use.
You should use
But seriously, there's decent choice in there. Goldran (or possibly Da Garn) should fit reasonably well, Raideen or Reideen could be made to work - Chouja'd just be throwing more Real onto the pile though, and it has serious integration problems - there's Getter, you could use New pretty well probably, and... I dunno, Acrobunch, maybe?
I know I'm commenting on a post that's nearly a week old, but.
>This is all VF-Kun's fault anyway, since he preferred to sit on the game and tease constantly rather than do anything productive, before it was handed off to Fin. At this rate, I'm almost convinced the GC translation crew would adopt the project and do a better job.
I did make a buggy, but functioning, G-Gen stage as a final project for a class five years ago
in LabVIEWin a 72 hour power coding burst. If I had the time, motivation, and familiarity with an appropriate coding platform, I could probably spit out an SRC tier game in a few weeks, if someone provided me with sprites and music.
Hell, even an SRW 1 tier game wouldn't be all that much harder.
I was actually planning on using a few braves in a later list or two (Goldran and Dagwon actually), so Da Garn might work.
Raxephonas well, so Raideen could work as foreshadowing, and a combo archery triple attack with those two and Goldran would be neat. Acrobunch works REALLY well since the setting isn't ENTIRELY fantasy and it would pop in between stages here and there during it's plot and eventually join up when things get serious.
Don't tempt me anon. I might. But the Magitek armors are so boring though, all they have is just different colored beams and you only use it for a grand total of 10 minutes at the beginning of the game.
>I did make a buggy, but functioning, G-Gen stage as a final project for a class five years ago in LabVIEW in a 72 hour power coding burst. if you've got the desire, go to #SRWEternity.
They've got a semi-functional English version of SRC running going, basically.
All that's left is some basic features and you'll have what you want.
Don't take this the wrong way, but it's genuinely amazing how people will prefer to start their own stuff out of scratch when people are already working on something that's got some decent progress going.
I'm at 76 right now, when does it require 2 BP to beat Aquarion?
we have outfit, pilot suit, bikini and now uniform. That's 4.
I do look forward to when the original's appear's in OG, We had not had a better original's since Z2.
Shit, Shatte is rising very quickly in my OG tiers
@3 was the last time she had anything remotely-resembling a moveset and it's never going to get better, is it?
I spent 30 Premium Tickets trying to get her as an actual unit and failed miserably.
Don't know if any of you are masochists like me, but you can get Final Fantasy 2 through the Portal App for free until the 14th.
I haven't spent a dime on X-O and I don't plan to. Only whaling I did was $3 in gems in FF Record Keeper because I'd used up the rest of the gift card buying FF5 (at half price!) and FF Dimensions (which I've never seen at half price) for my iPod.
>I've played countless P&D
Ouch. I never played it and I don't want to.
There was literally only one person here who actually spent money on the gasha.
And I too have never spent anything on Mobage, it's not like there's any meaning in that unless you want some of those limited edition characters, who almost always turn out to be garbage anyway.
>He wasn't on the boat
You'll also have to get accustomed to Bagserk memes, there's a nice bidiurnal thread on /a/ where OP dumps volumes so we can reread and talk about it, we've just finished Tower of Conviction a few days ago though, so you'll have to catch up or you'll get spoilered.
And of course he'd go out this way.
And I swear to god Rickert better not die an incredibly violent death
Don't worry, Rickert is alive and well for the time being.
Also, you should prepare for EXCITEMENT AND ENJOYMENT since you're at the beginning of Conviction Arc.
Fangame stuff here:
What's a good "generic" name for the "Blocking" skill (from Z1), Countercut and Shield Defense that doesn't imply needing a Sword or Shield to do so?
I'm using those mechanics but renaming them. So far I got "SDef Lv X" (Self Defense), Deflect and Block
Leaving the name of the skill as Blocking is kind of off to me though - it controls whether you can use Countercut and Shield Defense, but by naming it "Blocking", it kind of sounds like it does something inherently.
It is the last stage, but my guys just seem ill equipped for dealing with a bajillion enemies and the actual boss I need to kill.
I don't even have any units FUB'd. If I want to win I'd have to grind heavily, and that's a huge drag.
