Someone was talking about this a few days ago, so I looked it up and translated a few things:

Halloween Plan

There was interference from the EOT Special Council (and because it was disliked by politicians) to mass produce Gespenst despite being the first personal trooper so it was delayed and the Lion series and MP Huckebein got selected instead.

It's a plan launched by Gilliam and Kai to strengthen the Gespenst Series because they were disatisfied with the treatment of the series by the Federation.

Halloween Plan was born from Gespenst lovers for Gespenst lovers. The idea is to upgrade the unit for veteran aces who enjoy the unit to make it equal to a luxury/strong customized unit.

MP Gespenst Kai used data from Shadow Mirror's Mass Produced Gespenst as a reference, so it's equipped with a Tesla Drive and powerful melee and ranged weapons.

Indeed. A lot of the bullet hell-inspired mechanics would feel out of place in SRW. That said, most of the game design changes are strictly for the better, and I'd love to see some of them in actual SRW. In particular, the weird gimmick skills on bosses are an excellent idea, and make boss fights quite a bit less boring. But really, I'm not sure if SRW would be able to pull it off. First of all, the gimmicks only reach their full potential as a gameplay tool when boss fights are done in phases, plus we all know how much SRW hates anything resembling real difficulty.

There's a reason "how do we improve SRW's gameplay" discussions typically devolve into discussions of FMW mechanics, though. The games are brilliantly designed.

They revamped the weapon properties in NEO so it's a lot more interesting and probably the best part of the system.

You gain SP from dealing and taking damage instead of having to ration it.

There's a heavy emphasis on flanking which unlike something like the Z series kind of minor 10% bonus, fully surrounding the enemy on all 4 sides gives you a massive hit bonus + double damage... of course, the enemy can do the same to you (but they're kinda too moronic unless you intentionally charge into the middle of them)

The only Rares I have right now are my maxed-out Venus A because Repair and Trust+, and my starter Van Ein because the game won't let me get rid of it. Defenders big thing is that they're immune to ALL FORMS OF KNOCKBACK. This includes boss attacks which have that ability, like, say, Alejandro Corner's big battleship thing.

I found the stages fighting him were trivialized because Imber would sit right next to him, take all his basic attacks for minimal damage and continue pounding him because he can't get it away. And his special didn't do shit since a tanky defender laughs at that stuff.

Post Apoc wasn't really what I was going for but I could make that work. Really I was going for a fusion of Magitec and Steampunk with the setting, but if Post-Apoc works with that already set up stuff then it would make sense. And I thought about GunXSword, and I might throw it in anyway, but I feel like it might be too convoluted as is. Don't think of it so much in terms of Real and Super, then. Look at it as "now, which of these robots are built to take hits more, and which are built to dodge?"

The Nagahama Quartet are 50+ meters tall, they tank. Grendizer is smaller but is notably made of an indestructible alloy, it tanks. Zambot is also pretty goddamn big, it tanks. Daiohja... Actually, I remember it only being like 35m or something? But it still tanks. Ideon's over 100 meters fucking tall, it's obvious what it does. Gunbuster? Well... Gunbuster IS.

So for dodgier things, look at robots which are more highly mobile, smaller, lighter, faster, not dependent on armor. Transformers, Tekkaman Blade, Jeeg, and King Gainer fall here, even if they're not really Reals.

I was actually planning on using a few braves in a later list or two (Goldran and Dagwon actually), so Da Garn might work. Raxephon as well, so Raideen could work as foreshadowing, and a combo archery triple attack with those two and Goldran would be neat.
