How is everyone going in X-Omega?
Can you all please post your unit's.
Whoa. This emulator is progressing faster than it i though it would.
I imagine putting in sound brings it back to slideshow level, but just seeing it work like that is already great.
So we posting Mobage now?
At least post something with robots in it.
I don't remember ever getting the greatest Zeta.
>The localization has been far from perfect, with punctuation errors abounding in the script, from missing periods to uses of "it's" instead of "its." There are also several questionable translation choices, like choosing to call one of the core dungeons of the game "Kowloon" instead of the more accepted "Coulomb" or "Cron." (All three are written クーロン Kuuron in Japanese, and the area is officially written in English as "Cool-wrong" in one area of the Japanese game, which phonetically approximates how the name is said aloud.) The localization translates the Garakuta (Junk) Park as "Galacta Park," yet retains a dialogue in which an NPC says that the park is made of junk, resulting in the character claiming the park to be "made of Galacta." At another point, Shiramine Nokia says "Looks like he's not here" rather than "they're" while looking for two Digimon. As a whole the text appears not to have been proofread. Jarringly, Detective Matayoshi still refers to Kuremi Kyoko as "Kyo-chan" in the English script; thus far no other honorifics have been found to be used.
That's just abysmal.
My dumbass friend just wrote a damn novel on Skype about how this shit is totally acceptable in 2016 and how we should all just shut up and eat this shit with a big smile on our faces and ask for seconds.

Guess I'm not waiting for Eternity to make an SRW fangame.
I'm going to disappoint a lot of people by taking extreme liberties with the plots since it's been a long time since I've watched the series I wish I were good at terrain design and writing
Also hope this triggers some of you
Welcome back to Whose Line is it Anway, the shoe where everything's made up and the points don't matter. That's right, the points are like the R cast in OG.
Let's move on to a game called Scenes From a Hat. This is for all of you, starting with "Things you can say to your robot, but not your favorite OG"
Was there anyone else other than the Sanbondo guys?
I originally had it at 30 SP for 1.5, which is worse if you only care about burst damage I guess.
Of course both versions still end up being better than the Impact one.
That was probably me, yeah.
I think it was like the only thing people remembered even though I redesigned quite a few spirit commands.
My Snipe is 50 SP... for unlimited Range for 1 Turn
Honestly, I think hotblood and soul aren't even neccesary. The problem lies in Banpresto turning most bosses into big time HP sponges with HP regen 30%, so it pretty much makes the gamers crave for ways to increase their damage output. If the bosses had reasonable HP levels, there would be no need to attack boosts.
I just love it when you purge your parts, BABY!
You look much better naked anyway.
Possibility of being a pervert.
She's mute because MD will not feature the sub-pilot changing from J. Katia will be the sub-pilot and thus there's no need for Melua to have a VA. Tenia hasn't shown up because she has been cut out entirely.
The other problem is that boss fights are structured in a way that really encourages taking the boss down in one turn. Especially in the more recent games, where the boss' enemy phase consists of "three MAP attacks in a row, hitting your entire party with absurd attack power and accuracy." If they were willing to tone down bosses' movesets, dragging the fight out a bit wouldn't be quite so horrific and they could make the fights a hell of a lot more interesting.
Trying to take out the boss in one turn is a thing in the genre in general.
I can't think of a single SRPG where I wouldn't try to murder a stage boss asap before I ate a counter attack.
Especially in games like FMW where bosses start packing shit like accuracy rate is damage multiplier and Okuu's stuff in the final stage.
Shouldn't there be an attack among his list that starts with I? HUMANISM and all.
Honestly I wish SRC as a whole was available in an English version, it would make for something interesting, a lot more people would be putting it to use, I'd say. Matt would be knee-deep in FIRST already, I'd at least hope.
Liberties or not, I'd most likely play what you end up coming up with.
I liked how the masoukishin games handled that. The bosses were tough and powerful, but never were too strong as to rapekill you with a single attack so long you had your armor upgraded and defended and had the healers doing their job. They also had (in comparison with regular SRW games) a lot lower HP numbers and by the time the game threw at you enemies with generous HP, you had enough prana to use those expensive, 100 prana a piece attacks that deals a fuckton of damage and the non-masoukishin units could use twice their 40-50 prana finishers. And using hotblood was just plain overkill there
>Honestly I wish SRC as a whole was available in an English version, it would make for something interesting, a lot more people would be putting it to use, I'd say.
I wish "SRW CF" was still around because it was like the only attempt at English people trying to make an SRW using SRC - not sure if they did an FMW3 thing where they translated everything EXCEPT the menus or if they actually figured out a way to translate the interface
That's the thing, though: in FMW, killing most bosses in one turn simply isn't an option unless you're playing on easy or something. There are cases where you want to get a particular phase out of the way before enemy phase (as you said, Takemikazuchi and Okuu's MAPs come to mind), but outright killing the boss in one go is almost never a possibility.
As such, the bosses are designed to compensate for that by not outright wiping your party in a single enemy phase. Okuu aside, MAPs are fairly rare and are never used more than once per turn, and a lot of them can be blocked by bombs. Fury is also relatively rare for the most part, and boss attack power tends to be lower in general. As such, support defense actually works against most FMW bosses, making the "kill the boss in one turn" strategy much less necessary.
新機動戦記ガンダムW Endless Waltz
機動戦士ガンダム00 -A wakening of the Trailblazer-
"ANUBIS Z.O.E." and Mazinger Z is what that's supposed to be. (I don't understand why capital Z doesn't copy-paste over correctly in that font, but I keep forgetting about it)
While Support Defense does work, there's no guarantee that the boss wouldn't target someone else without a support defender instead.
Also, quite frankly, a some of the bosses felt like they were padded to last longer than actually be difficult. Okuu 1 comes to mind.
>there's no guarantee that the boss wouldn't target someone else without a support defender instead.
Then you have only yourself to blame for leaving people without support defenders. Especially in the third game, where the pair system makes it downright trivial to get support defense up for everyone.
Nope, just a bored anon who likes posting fake cast lists.
Oh damnit, I missed the great "people yelling other people's names" portion so I couldn't post SOUSHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII or something.
As of the last time I made a picture, this was accurate, it's not quite there anymore.
If you're going to kill a character off, you had better make it the most goddamn impressive death ever.
Those seem reasonable, at least. Well, as long as attack powers aren't as absolutely terrible as Impact had, necessitating the use of spirits to make your attacks deal passable damage, which doesn't even help because Soul is never around and Hot Blood is piss.
>I originally had it at 30 SP for 1.5, which is worse if you only care about burst damage I guess.
Strictly worse than the critical spirit if the critical spirit works for a full turn as it should.
I'd have a five/ten stage demo out (five on two routes), and then a sixth stage that would just be "wait how the fuck did we all get together?" "DON'T CARE LET'S BEAT SOME ENEMIES UP!".
Of course, SRC is built for smaller maps, no squad system, classic formulas, and the like. I'd have to completely come up with new numbers if I wanted to make the port.
That's why you turn Support into Cover and make it automatically level 1 at least for everyone, a la GC.
Have you started watching Fafner Exodus, Matt?
Certain characters don't need support defenders or work in ranges that all of the actually good support defenders are highly unlikely to operate.
There's a few cases where the boss went straight for the support defender in question and pretty much blew them up but then again, most people aren't going to like being on the receiving end of Yorihime.
You also missed my prototype for the police/government SRW cast list in the previous thread. And now I have another new, bizarre (and slightly misspelled) cast list above.
>Of course, SRC is built for smaller maps, no squad system, classic formulas, and the like. I'd have to completely come up with new numbers if I wanted to make the port.
True, but it'd still probably be easier to deal with unless so much of your idea really hinges on it.
Not to mention the easier animation and integration of moves means you can do some of what the games I've played do and give some strange new attacks to mecha if you want to. Give Dozle's Big Zam some reflector bits or something, make Getter 2 shoot Getter Beams out of its drill, whatever you want.
Blue Layer is the key to your deck, the more you can get Blue Layer onto the field the closer you are to victory because it can grab anything else you need and can basically kickstart your engine by itself if you know what you're doing. You need three copies of all three Layers, three Emergency Teleports (to get the Blue Layer out), three of their field, three Fairy Alphans, three Terraformings (to get their field out because it's the only way to get out Great Magnus), and from there you move on to specialization, anything from straight turbo to Magnablade OTK (Please never do Magnablade OTK seriously, it will literally never work in a serious game.)
I need to start soon, only reason I haven't is I don't know what to download and I wanted to relax my bandwidth after downloading the entire rest of the series.
Commander's Fafner Exodus arc is almost upon us, I need to finish the whole show before then.
>make Getter 2 shoot Getter Beams out of its drill
That's a thing it's able to do, that's not odd at all.
>not running clowns and phantom knights to complete the engine
run 3 fusion tag and none of the maindeck monsters
waste 3 ED slots on dragon cannon, catapul tiget, and dracon catapult tiger
or the better choice
>Or, not its drill. Rather, it can shoot Getter Beams out of its CLAW. My bad.
Wonder why they never use that, then. I guess because hardly anything ever really uses classic Getter these days., and rarely did anyone use Getter 2 and 3 anyway.
Current party in FFRK for the Penelo event. Beatrix, Vaan, and Faris are using realm synergy weapons. After this event I'm probably going to use Vaan permanently since he's got Celerity+Thief, so I can do Steal Power+Tempo Flurry while Faris does Breakdowns.
What is this?
Those are the prologue missions, the actual event hasn't started yet.
Well, it's probably because the only game to make Getter Robo an upgrade mech and thus have reason to give it all its shit... was 3, which barely counts for two reasons, most notably the fact that it then further upgraded into Getter G.
Sounds like something that old idea of mine about turning the Classic series into one long, continuous flowing game narrative could solve, by making the ever-loved Proto-Getter something you stick with through only the early parts of SRW 2 and then moving on from there.
The ports look really off-model, and I'm still sore that FF Dimensions doesn't have portraits during dialogue.
Ah-ha. X-O and FF Brave Exvius are the only JP gacha hells I'm playing. I got so fucked in FFBE last night. 8 ticket draws on a rate up banner and not only did I not get anything on the banner, SEVEN of the units were dupes. One of them duped itself and was someone I'd hoped I'd never get again because he's fucking terrible.
It crashed all the fucking time on my iPod, but when I put it on my Samsung Galaxy Note5 that I got on Monday, it stopped.
This was my happy moment last week. And then about an hour later I pulled her Save the Queen and a SECOND Power Sash (it's a light armor with Protectga as a shared SB). It's fucking weird how in FFRK Global, every single 11x I've done has had at least 1 5*.
Even on the PSP version bosses would kill you quickly. On the Wendy route, Tudy twoshotted a level 99 defending Tytti with max upgrades.
RoEG was better about that; being level 99 meant you were actually untouchable. Never played PoJ, but in CotE enemy power was low-enough that the game refusing to let you dodge at all ever aside from the instadodge skill procs was less of an issue since you didn't lose huge chunks of your HP stock every time you got hit.
The intention is that you use those drops and rewards to prepare an event team, preferably one with one of those shiny new units you gacha'd up if you're insane and/or have money to burn on a 50 OC gacha each month, and then use it for the event.
Right now I have three teams. "Team Defender", the one you probably all know because it's why I lead with Imber most of the time, "Team I'm Going To Wreck Your Shit And Steal An S Rank Off Your Corpse", which is my go to team if S Ranks aren't coming easily and features all of my strongest units that I could fit into a cohesive unit, and "Team Event", which is the team I use for whatever event is going on at the time and can change during the event if I get units that have powers for said event (I'll bet that when it starts in true, you'll be able to get Aquarion Luna and Aquarion Mars that have special powers.)
Yeah, definitely looking-forward to that. I just hope my initial set of free rolls are better than what I ended up with in JP. I couldn't get ANYTHING better than R.
It's a solid RPG, but the interface is pretty bad.
In that it's a multimedia franchise thing? Because Kancolle's only about two dozen girls worth a shit. ...I wish Chain Chronicle got more doujins, like of pic related. That was some S-Rank semen demon shit.
Makes me wonder if a potential future update for SRC Dungeon will include more of the Transformers. It already uses the original and several of the spinoffs Japan came up with. Z, 2010, and Mystery of Convoy, at least.
Man, as big as the game already is, there's still so much that could be put in.
>I just hope my initial set of free rolls are better than what I ended up with in JP
1. localized mobages always screw something up
2. It's still going to be JP, it's not a separate server
>2. It's still going to be JP, it's not a separate server
That's going to be weird, sharing a server with the JP players who've been playing forever. Huge influx of people with English-language names giving them friend requests.
>1. localized mobages always screw something up
Tell me something I don't know. The Global version of FF Record Keeper is messed-up due to how there's some content that's exclusive to collaborations, so those things get skipped, and some of it is level cap breaks and character relics. Edward has been stuck at 50 since he debuted. I'm really fucking worried about this thing that lets you buy characters and level-cap breaks you might've missed. We're getting our first event with exchange items for that on the 27th (FF7 Advent Children event), so they need to release it between now and then and there's been no news at all. And I really need it, because you get 3 free 2nd level cap break items with its release, and I really, really want to get Squall's since I missed it, and Vanille's because she's been my main healer since December and I'm not about to get rid of her just because DeNA won't let her be level 80.
Lack of collaborations is understandable, hell we are in fucking SRW general, this is bread and butter for us at this point, it's more that, the original devs but so much shit behind collabs, that DeNA now doesn't have a way of introducing it unless they move heaven and earth, case in point: Faris' newest SSB from that Seiken event
>case in point: Faris' newest SSB from that Seiken event
Logres/Rogress? Yeah, her SSB and MC2 are in that event so she's fucked unless they put her MC2 in the Chamber of Rituals and give out a free blank MC2 as a login bonus. And she's a really good character: 5* support and good gear choice. However, I imagine she'll go obsolete when Ramza's implemented unless you want to switch her to Steal Power+Tempo Flurry, although Bartz can do that, too, and his MC2 isn't a collabo one.
真マジンガー 衝撃! Z編
機動戦士ガンダム00 -A wakening of the Trailblazer-
Fuck yes, also Star Driver and that Geass manga are very interesting.
I wonder how they'll use SD, as far as I know it's kinda unique. Maybe together with Build Fighter?
At the very least, in its last days, it managed to nab Captain Earth. I think that was the only thing it had that hadn't already been in an entry before, especially since more of the card art was based upon old sprites, if not outright taken straight from stuff like AP.
It would occasionally give you something nice to look at though, at least.
Did it though? I'm checking the site right now and I'm sure it's not there.
Anyways the only cases so far of a series appearing in a spinoff before as main series SRW was
>Godannar in SC2
>King Gainer in ACE 3
>Wings of Rean in ACE 3
>Eureka Seven in ACE 3
>Frontier in ACE R
>Code Geass in ACE R
>Eureka Seven Movie in ACE P
>Gundam 00 in ACE P
There are also a bunch of series which HAVE appeared in spinoffs but not main series yet
>Macross Zero in SC2
>VS Lamune Fire in ACE P
>Keroro Gunsou in OE
>Zoids in OE
>Patlabor in OE
>Star Driver in X-O
>Zegapain in X-O
>Albegas in X-O
>Dorvack in X-O
>Code Geass OZ the Reflection in X-O
>Idolmaster Xenoglossia in X-O
>Is it good, or is the MS Paint summary making it sound like shit actually correct?
I tried watching it but the start is slow and for something that's supposedly /u/ it's the least gay yuri show I've ever seen
Yeah, it's not on the site for whatever reasons, but it's in the game. (Maybe they knew they were heading out that year, so didn't bother updating when it only concerned one series and a few cards)
The site also doesn't mention that it has cards for some SRW OG characters, even including a card for BX and the X-O MCs.
Maybe the OG enemies from CC will be the surprise entry for a future OGs game.
Oh, I implied that just "Zoids" meant the original Zoids series and not Genesis.
Come to think of it I also remembered them including New Century Zero too, but then I remembered the garbage ass way they handled it and preferred that I didn't.
Christ OE was so fucking awful. Patlabor deserves better than this shit.
No get those shitty ass frogs out of my fucking SRW
There's no way a stupid comedy gag show like that would work in a regular, serious SRW at all. Just look at the fucking characters ffs. So cartoony and gay...
Except "Super Robot Wars OG" is literally in the title
Banpresto doesn't even fucking do anything with ACE except slap its logo on. That's why you won't see ACE originals in OG because From owns the rights to the originals
It's a pity not everything got GR level cards and the one place I find these images doesn't necessarily have all the cards, or even have them at a decent size like these.
Some of images made for the cards are really nice, I feel.
reminder Terada is a Kenny Omega Fan
>Kenny Omega wore trunks that had the Xomega logo
gee its almost like its because Gespensts are Banpresto property hence it's fine that they're in OG
hell, there's a fucking reason they got into OG2nd almost immediately while the guys from ACE 2 / 3 R haven't even gotten in yet. If they could put the ACE guys in they would have already done so by now.
>ACE counts as SRW
>OE is somehow a spinoff title despite literally being Neo (and a dash of XO) 2: DLC Boogaloo
No? You get it in Chapter 3. You then get its two squadmates like five stages later in the next chapter.
Yep, no way a mostly comedic series could fit in SRW. Daitarn 3, Trider G7, Daiohja, arguably Daltanius, DEFINITELY Xabungle, L-Gaim, Gundam ZZ, and all series like them have never been in SRW and wouldn't be a part of the plot if they were.
One is called Super Robot Wars, one is not. That's a fucking massive difference right there by itself.
>fighting against keisar ephes
>wow everyone's getting riled up time to kick some ass
>suddenly portrait of this shitty kiddy cartoon frog shows up and ruins all the immersion
keroro is on a way different fucking level than all those series u listed, its impossible to take seriously
Dunbine series always seem to have that problem. Hell, it's worse for the Sirbine, who not only doesn't get used in general, but it took until BX to have it show up with anything other than point-blank attacks.
SRC Dungeon doesn't even give it that, it's all point blank for it there, too.
Speaking of stuff that doesn't get into SRW a lot.
L-Gaim and ZZ both start with heavy comedy focuses. ZZ grows out of that eventually, but L-Gaim doesn't, even after Gablet gets competent him and Kyao spend at least half of their screentime getting slapstick done to them.
Iron Leaguer isn't really comedic, Top Joy's insanity and that one time GZ had to babysit aside (and that later part was only in his reaction to having to do it). It features such things as
the Leaguers who get good being forced to retire, weaponized, having their minds almost completely wiped, and sold to the highest bidder to take part in a massive pointless war game for human entertainment. And that goddamn vampire episode. Fuck that episode seriously.
I agree with you otherwise though.
Random SRW idea time: SRW U
Honestly I'm inclined to agree with >>13835865, there's an INSANE amount of Ryu Knight plot in the game. Like, half the stages have Ryu Knight plot.
Even aside that though, there's a fuckload of series with no plot in Neo. Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, Braigar, Goshogun, and Daiteioh - one of the new series! - had no plot, Iron Leaguer - also a new series! - and G Gundam had pretty much no plot, and the disparity between series in terms of how much plot they got was extraordinarily notable, some got a fucking lot and others got a few stages.
It's not really a kiddy show, no. I mean, in some ways it is, but in other ways it isn't.
I think you might be confusing it with Lamune, which goes turns full ecchi in a later OVA series(,which had the the distinction of having been licensed and released in english as Knights of Lamune).
How much did they have to build on with Daiteioh, though? I mean, wasn't that something that barely had what you could consider a pilot episode to go on? Or was there just a lot of background material they didn't use.
Yet another thing SRC Dungeon needs to put in, along with making sure it adds the Eldoran Special move.
They gave the characters voices, but the weapons were apparently all decided in side materials. What wasn't used: the MASSIVE BATTLESHIP, the new enemies, any aspects of the plot aside from "Eldoran gives kids mech. Then another kid gets another mech. Then they combine. Also Eldoran Special eventually." For that matter, the turtle mech that becomes the gun turret of the Eldoran Special wasn't used outside the combo.
5 range isn't that bad, though, and two of the three units from Dunbine got up to 6, which is perfectly fine (Dunbine being the stinker which only gets up to 3. BX fixed that by putting it to 4, and similarly buffed Bilbine by changing its ranges to match Zwarth, a good idea in my opinion - though the cannons definitely have much less punch in BX, somehow.)
If you want to talk no range in BX, start with things like Deceive, Dunbine, and Goubein. Those guys can't even get over fucking 3 range.
Yeah, BX Aura Cannon is hilariously lame and I'm not quite sure why.
It might just be because there's a lot more enemy barriers in BX compared to UX.
And technically Goubain can get higher range. But only Hiroto's version.
How do you like your Klans, guys? King Size...
It's not barriers, it does less to normal enemies on average.
It's notably weird, because the only actual differences to Bilbine's attacks are:
>Aforementioned range increase
>The attacks that used to require Aura Level 3 now require Aura Level 4
>The combo with Dunbine went from 5600 base to 7600 base and gained S ranks in all terrains instead of just Sky.
>The combo with Zwarth went from 5700 to 7700 base, and had the same S rank increase - and it also got a second combo with Rhyneck
>Said combos all are now pilot locked apparently?
Probably just has to do with differing damage formulas, then? After all, plenty of people have talked about BX's wackiness when it comes to damage, after all.
Dunbine's all sorts of fucked-up in BX.
-Neal, Keene, and Rimul are all stuck at Aura Power Level 3 and the battleship captains don't even have it.
-The only combo Marvel gets is when she's in Dunbine, despite being able to do Bilvine+Zwarth in UX.
-You can't do Bilvine+Zwarth unless you recruit Burn, who is optional and has a very small window of usage (4.5 stages).
OE is a special case.
There are a couple points in Z3.2 where not using him leaves you with an odd number of non-event units.
The Third Super Robot Wars Z: Tengoku-Hen!
That depends on how you look at it. Gosaurer only seems to have more plot because it had more villains and mid bosses. While Ganbaruger's story feels thin enough that it could be compressed to a 24 episode show instead, but the game did cover pretty much everything the show had including all the episodes about them only using their superpowers. Of course, those were only in dialogue in between stages.
> The removed voiced sequences are still present in the PlayStation 4 version of the game, as are several purple downloadable quests not available in the Vita game.
Okay, that's just pure incompetence.
>Strictly worse than the critical spirit if the critical spirit works for a full turn as it should.
I can't remember whether SRC's crits are 25% (modern SRW) or 50%. I'll probably increase the cost of the Crit one if I find out it's the later.
>SRC is built for smaller maps, no squad system, classic formulas, and the like.
I just checked the limits on map size and I think the biggest map you can create is a 50x50 tiles one.
I'm too lazy to start a proper SRW game and figure out what the average map size is nowadays but 250 squares total seems like a pretty big limit to me.
You can actually change SRC combat formulas - for my scenario, I'm decoupling "Reaction" from Hit/Evade formula and using it as a ghetto defense stat by putting it into the defense calculation.
As for squad system... actually, I think someone could script it if they really wanted to... though that probably takes a lot more effort for the end product. Thankfully I don't care much for Squad system games anyway nowadays.
I think it would probably be better to give bosses some sort of usage of seishin or immunity to particular ones (not shit like ALL CANCELLER though), so you might have to try a little harder than not at all.
Yeah, I have no intention of giving the players something along the lines of ~75 playable units (not counting battleships and assuming that you condense people into as many "can hold multiple people" units as possible, but also assuming every secret is obtained) without a squad system.
You know what I am doing though?
Getting rid of Range and Melee as stats and using a general Attack one, even if I have to do it in an extremely dumb manner. Because in the era of being able to increase your stats, the fact that they're split is annoying as shit.
Who knew girls from shows older than I am could be so pretty?
Does it get to do more in Yoshizaki's version? If so, I'd welcome Kaiser with open hands.
All the plot that Daiteioh even had was exclusive to a manga. A manga that's so rare that not even RAWS exist.
The last thing hundreds of mooks saw before they were vaporized.
Does this look like the face of mercy to you?
But the PSO2 anime takes place in the setting of the game. That's right, they're playing PSO2 _in_ PSO2.
The whole reason she tried to antagonize Himeko to begin with was that
she knew one of them would have to kill the other and she did not have the willpower to kill Himeko so she did her best to get Himeko to hate her so Himeko would be able to do it. Didn't quite work out, though, yeah.
I like my Klans both ways. Micro for cuddling, macro for being cuddled.
stupid sexy crazy tykebomb crazy people shouldn't be this attractive and make me want to stick it in the crazy.
pic unrelated except for some silly plot mention in Z2 were the twin drive system and the zero system were to be on the same gundam.
Advent because not only is he level 99, his Hit stat and Targetting stats are weighted equally, and the Targetting stat means his hitrate is higher. I did the math and Advent's around 665% hitrate (I think?) before modifying down for size (anywhere from 1-4 sizes larger than what he's attacking) and up for ESP.
question about NG+ on UX
the carryover section is odd
>If the requirement is to "Defeat X with Y", the flag does not carry over and has to be done every playthrough that you are attempting to get that character, until you get them.
so I have to do this every time I want to get Master Thereon again or does he stay unlocked since I got him on my previous run?
>before modifying down for size (anywhere from 1-4 sizes larger than what he's attacking)
Besides TTGL and Diebuster.
>so I have to do this every time I want to get Master Thereon again or does he stay unlocked since I got him on my previous run?
All secrets besides Camo Bilvine, Lux, and Romina's New Outfit stay unlocked on NG+. You only have to redo "kill X with Y" if you failed to get the secret.
>You only have to redo "kill X with Y" if you failed to get the secret.
cool. Now to see which flags I tripped when getting Master Thereon.
Tempted to get Zerokage since I heard his flags are... wonky. and get other secrets if I can.
I've been working on my SRW Game for a while. SRW HOPE and it will be having a squad system.
Sound's like a good idea to talk about it.
I've thinking of making it like OE and Alpha 2/3. Each Unit has their own squad of 3, including itself.
But instead of character's they are faceless soldiers.
Example Amuro will have Federation soldiers fighting with him.
Char will have Zeon soldiers.
Kyo will have Zegapain's with him.
Shoutmon will have other Digimon with him.
Apollo will have the MP Assault Aquarion's etc...
You can hire faceless unit's, to add to the unit's squad. Or unlock ways to add faceless unit's such as giving Kouji a squad of Zeon soldiers.
You have a max of 4 units in a squad. If you deploy a unit with less than 4 unit's in their squad during Support Attack's and Defence other unit's will fight with them, for that attack.
This will give you a reason not to give everyone a full squad of Assualt Aquarion's.
Because teaming up with Gurren Laggan is just better. But you won't be getting free SP for the squad.
Does it sound good?
Yes, 75 playable units way too much. I regret now making 4 originals. Oh Well.
What about Beam and Bullet's attack's, they are meant to be less powerful underwater.
I will be splitting them up, just because it does make the game harder. And Story-wise some Pilot's are better with swords than gun's.
>Each Unit has their own squad of 3, including itself.
>If you deploy a unit with less than 4 unit's in their squad
I think you just contradicted yourself...
Also did you just play The Last Remnant or something? Having most Squaddies be Generic doesn't seem like it would add very much to the system... unless they had like randomly generated Spirit Commands or something (which, let's face it, is mostly all Squaddies are good for)
I've been working on my own SRW-like. Though it's fully original and the main gameplay thing will be having a squad system with a similiar idea like yours, except the faceless mooks will be recruitable characters who can change units between various mooks and can be fully customized, whereas the main characters have a restricted set of skills based on their abilities. And a big focus on battleships.
The manga one was... shit, I don't want to be all TVTropes and say the word "deconstruction" about things it doesn't apply to, but I can't think of what else to say about her. She's basically a dark look at the IDORU thing, her being an idol isolates her from everyone and causes her to commit suicide (she's saved by JUSTICE MAN, and then immediately latches onto him), connects to Painkiller without having died because Painkiller determined her as going to die unless she was connected, and then when Juda and Katou joined forces she was basically cast aside by the world because they became "evil".
And then shit happened. The timeskip removed JUSTICE MAN from her life as well,
Izuna remembered his past, his weird "I know exactly how everything is going to die" ability connected her with her depression and caused her to go completely insane - at her last concert, where she was booed out, no less! - and then Painkiller connected with Roc and Pard and became that monster thing and it killed Deceive and Izuna. And then eventually she died.
So yeah, she was sort of moe. And then she became a MURDERBITCH instead.
Oh yeah, bitch be crazy, but before the timeskip it wasn't AS bad.
So, I remember from L that Mode C was Linebarrel High On Red too. When that thing showed up in the manga, did it do similar things?
Your talk of her history just made me remember I had that on hand. I suppose there's a juxtaposition between cute fireworks girl and the beast behind her, which I assume is the monster that makes a MURDERBITCH?
1 Leader Unit (Amuro Ray) + 3 Faceless Units
You don't have to deploy 3 faceless units.
No I have no even heard of Last Remnant. Is it a good game, it looks cool.
I have no intention of having a squad system.
While I was working on Support attack's, I found out I could easily, add in unit's to the Attacker, and with a few min's I had a small squad system in place.
Just wondering what I could do with it, If It doesn't work then in the bin it goes.
Awesome, a good thing about mine SRW is that the plot is mostly original. so I could just take out everything, and have a fine game.
No. It didn't make her. SHE MADE IT.
It is in no way the fault of the Painkiller that she turned out that way. While it is true that Machina slightly shift their pilot mentality over time (the most dramatic example being
Deceive taking memories away from Izuna because it was scared of its own death), Painkiller isn't the reason she snapped. She snapped because she was already crazy and a whole bunch of things sent her further off the deep end.
No. Machina find their pilots when the human in front of them dies, and the only way to save said human is for the Machina to interfere. There are exceptions to this rule - All
3of Linebarrel's pilots, Soubi, and I think Masaki was too? And of course there's also JUDA, but it's an extraordinarily special case - but in general, that's what happens.
Machina and Linebarrel sure is a lot more complicated than I figured.
Apparently there's one coming soon? Akurasu says that the website has a blacked out silhouette.
Yajima and Apparition are actually perfect examples of what I was saying about how Machina choose their pilot. Yajima dies early to a seemingly berserk Apparition - speaking of that, does the manga ever bother explaining what the hell happened there? - and then, SHOCK AND AWE, it's revealed later that he's now the pilot. And I'd spoiler that even though it was pre-timeskip, but... like, they explain that this is how Machina get their pilots. It's the easiest thing in the world to see coming. It's easier than seeing Kouichi force deploys coming in L, that's how easy it is.
No? Not only does Kouichi die in front of Linebarrel, it's Linebarrel's fault that Kouichi dies. (Well, really, it's Emi's shitty piloting to blame, but neither she nor Linebarrel realized there was a human in the building they crashed into, and she was the one who made the call to rescue Kouichi so we can't yell too hard at her.)
I like how much they buffed Verdant from L to UX.
>Sword attack is 1-3
>Gets a new finisher in the last fifth the game that maxes at 6750
And UX still has 2.5x Soul.
There was interference from the EOT Special Council (and because it was disliked by politicians) to mass produce Gespenst despite being the first personal trooper so it was delayed and the Lion series and MP Huckebein got selected instead.
It's a plan launched by Gilliam and Kai to strengthen the Gespenst Series because they were disatisfied with the treatment of the series by the Federation.
Halloween Plan was born from Gespenst lovers for Gespenst lovers. The idea is to upgrade the unit for veteran aces who enjoy the unit to make it equal to a luxury/strong customized unit.
MP Gespenst Kai used data from Shadow Mirror's Mass Produced Gespenst as a reference, so it's equipped with a Tesla Drive and powerful melee and ranged weapons.
> does the manga ever bother explaining what the hell happened there?
It had an unnamed Factor who got killed off without any fanfare.
Which means that Koichi DID die in front of Linebarrels and was saved by its nanomachines, thus becoming its Factor. So he wasn't an exception, though the circumstances were different.
Though they actually do mention in an early chapter that injection with the Machina's nanomachines is a perfectly valid method of becoming the Machina's Factor.
>Cursed to never be in a good SRW game
What was the truth of the world again? That major world leaders are actually space ghost vampire body snatcher Illuminati?
See, the exception comes here. Each Machina has one - and ONLY one - Factor. Linebarrel is no different, and would have allowed Kouichi to die under any normal circumstance. The way the usual method is different is that Miu specifically made Linebarrel save him, as opposed to the Machina interfering.
It was technically in K, yes, but considering it had literally no plot aside from "Gil Berg is a dick", it doesn't really count as a full Dangaioh appearance.
He made a new girl for Queen's Blade. That's it.
Still salty they didn't hire him for the new Langrisser game, which probably explains why it's a POS
>It was technically in K, yes, but considering it had literally no plot aside from "Gil Berg is a dick", it doesn't really count as a full Dangaioh appearance.
Perhaps one day they will make an SRW where Dangaioh has its full plot + an actual ending and more playable units including Prof Tarzan in his battleship.
And then the Unicorn (Gundam) will soar majestically through the air.
Impact had that, except for Tarsun (but then, I don't remember that thing being armed).
It also moved the middle part of Episode 1 to the end of the plot, so you could have Pai's parental conflict become the actual final fight against Garrimond.
>except for Tarsun (but then, I don't remember that thing being armed).
In the last episode, it fired (ineffectively) at Gil Berg before teleporting Dangaioh to safety so... yeah, it does have weapons.
I'm thinking I would design it as a utility battleship where its main use would be the teleport beam to zap your unit from one place to another, great for sniper units.
Oh yeah, so it did. I remembered the teleport beam, not the other things. So maybe.
If they ever do the plot again, Shazara being recruitable is a must though. Preferably not with a "IF YOU DO THIS, YOU NEVER GET SPIRAL KNUCKLE" situation this time.
At least they saw fit to give her a card in CC.
She's actually quite good in Impact, mostly because of a good cost-to-power 3-6 P move that serves as her finisher. The problem is, getting her requires you not killing her, and killing her is required to get the Spiral Knuckle, which makes an already great unit that you want to field (Dangaioh) into a REALLY great unit. (Getting her also locks you out of the skill point for that stage, but honestly that's a good thing - difficulty in Impact is either "you have more than half or less", and it only determines whether you get cool shit from some secrets or not - and it's literally impossible to get 100% Skill Points anyway).
Impact is still pretty much the only SRW game I own that I haven't finished. It's just too damn slow to slog through.
Incidentally, I know why she's making the expression, but the art on this card is less "along for the spiral knuckle joyride" and more like we're channeling Aquarion style combining here.
Also I really wish there was a better place to snag CC pics from. The only place I've managed is all over the place in completion, I'm unable to tell if it's still possibly updating somehow despite the service ending, and the size and quality of the images is all over the place, as can be seen.
Get a central idea - or two central ideas, if you can get that to work - and then get a bunch of series that work with it. If you've watched all of them, plot how they can fit together.
Alternatively, get a couple groups of series you want to do things together with, and build it more like a spiderweb, with interconnection coming from that.
Both of those have been design philosophies in past SRWs (the Classics are arguably an example of the first, but UX definitely is, while the latter has been used in a bunch of varying SRWs.)
It's arguable that it falls under that design philosophy, and the central idea is "the villains from this series work for this new guy, unless they're aliens or NERV/SEELE, in which case they're aliens or NERV/SEELE".
But UX is a better example. Every series either has the main protagonists fighting a centralized government, or is involved in a time loop - except Miku, because she's fucking Miku - and before someone says "What about Dunbine or SD Gundam Sangokuden?", well, they were fighting Drake in the former and there was time-loops in how it interacts with Wings of Rean, and in the latter they spent pretty much the entire time fighting a centralized government (even if the game never used that bit).
W is possibly an example with the idea of things Americans would like. Or possibly not, it's impossible to say, it might be the other thing. Z is a bit of both - Orguss is central, but it also has clumps of things that fit together - a bit of post-apoc, a bit of Toei, a bit of rebellion plots, a bit of fighting rebellions, etc.
One day. They'll be back one day.
So I had a few ideas and wanted to see what would be intersting, ask if you want some details:
>World that has one part moving thru time at different paces, kinda Post Apoptotic
> a hint of Xenophobia in the air
Also not really a central idea but I would like a SRW that has 0079 and shows the Gundam as something more than a normal real robot.
I dunno, we may be stuck with these guys for all our Getter needs from now on.
Here is how I planned HOPE, with these five series as an example.
- Combattler V
- Gundam Char's Counterattack
- Gurren Laggan
- Digimon Xros Wars
Everyone loves' these things in crossover's
-) Bad Guys team up, Bad Guys enemies
-) Major Plot from Series A is a Major Plot Point from Series B.
-) Backstory influences plot point.
just give one for each series you're using.
1. Combattler V
2. Char's Counterattack
CV: Campbellians team up with Neo Zeon. In order to take down the Gard-om.
CV: Garuda robots are the past version of Garuda each time the Server reset's.
CC: Gard-om are on war with Char. Giving Char a reason for his counterattack.
4. Gurren Laggan
CV: Oreana and Lordgenome were together during the fight of the Anti-Spiral’s during the OYW.
CC: Anti-Spiral's first came during the OYW.
ZP: Bagramon helped Naga created the Server's, in order to stop the Anti-Spiral's from coming again.
5. Digimon Xros Wars
CV: The Campbellians created the Digimon, In order to kill the humans on there trip to the Server's.
CC: Human's need to be free from the Digital World. There soul is bound by data.
ZP: The Digital World form Digimon and The Digital World from Zegapain are the same thing, so are Zones and Server's.
GL: Epic Bread Bro's Lowrdgenome and Bagramon. Beastmen are part of the Bagra army.
If you can't fill in anything, for example let's say I want to add in, Dangaioh.
CV: Campbellians are friends with Dangaioh Alien's.
GL: Anti-Spirals are at war with Dangaioh Alien's.
Because I cannot fill in the blank's. Adding it to the game, just won't fit. Best not add it in.
That’s how I make my series list.
Yeah, it was pretty much just a shameless Jehuty plagiarism.
/jp/ desperately wanted it to be the Muv-Luv killer.
Then it turned out to be fucking garbage and everybody forgot about it.
Use your imagination.
People like to limit themselves with asinine and ill-conceived notions of "oh, that series can't work with this series" or "it doesn't make sense for that series to be in the same game with this series"and so-on.
In truth, all it takes is imagination to make two series work together like peanut butter and chocolate. The limitations mentioned above originate from that distinct lack of ambition and creativity.
In other words, so long as you aren't a lazy retard, there is not a limit to constrain you.
Not sure what series fit that. The way I do things is look at what has been in SRW and browse /m/, see what fits whatever idea I'm considering the cast list around, and watch that series.
>Also not really a central idea but I would like a SRW that has 0079 and shows the Gundam as something more than a normal real robot.
Just gimme a bit, ok? Magnet Coating is going to be a hell of a drug once you get it, and even before that, you're playing around with a monster hybrid that dodges like mad and can tank hits on its Lunar Titanium Armor and Shield and Sword and Gun that you get on stage 1. And then it gets Full Armor, which... is more of a sidegrade, it gives you really good long range options but takes away some of your moves in response.
You do get G3 though. It's better, but it also has the issue of taking a few moves away, though I might make a G3/Zeong or G3/Elmeth combo in the end.
Of course, the dodgy options in FIRST are:
>The Dragonar units, which are all pretty special and are a bit dodgier (at the price of none of them being as capable of straight tanking)
>Getter 2, which... is Getter 2.
>Heroman, who barely even counts because it's a fucking electric god
>things from other Gundam series in the OYW.
>the Dual! mechs, which are extraordinarily dodgy but are more dedicated support machines - aside from ZINV, who is ZINV and who will eventually become the second strongest unit on your team
>most of the Dendoh units are pretty dodgy too, including the main robots themselves, but they're closer to hybrids and rely more on gimmicks and really good abilities
>and then a few side robots and support units are better at dodging too
No real point, Full Armor Gundam covers the exact same points, and with that there's the option of purging and then slapping a G-Fighter onto you. (Which might be a good thing as the third member of a squad, because you have Vulking and Raiking anyway that need combined into The Great and that squad will need a third person.)
I wish more games had taken an approach like UX and BX, where gaining the secrets would lead to at least one fun moment after unlocking, be it a new combination attack, or just seeing Shouko tackle the hell out of an aura battler.
Like having a future game's unlocking of Master Asia also come with an extra battle against the Devil Gundam Jr. that ends with it being taken down by the combo Tenkyoken or some such.
Good enough segue as any to post another CC thing, I suppose.
What if they put Shin vs Neo and Armageddon in the same game?
>Ryouma and co. are missing and they're like on mars or some shit that's where Armageddon takes place now because i dunno maybe they got transported to another apocalyptic timeline or dimension
>They build the Neo Getter on Earth to make up for it
>Oh wow these guys are both named Gou look at that
>Neo Getter never upgrades into Shin Getter, but they bullshit it so that its final attack now turns it into the blue God Getter through absorbing getter rays or something
>literally too many getters
>Original trio in Shin
>Shin Gou Trio in Shin Dragon
>Neo Gou Trio in Neo
>Musashi in Getter 1 / Black Getter
If I'm to be perfectly honest, I'm probably going to release a version of the game that has all the secrets unlocked at base, because all of them are going to be canon in the sequels (except the mech only ones, which will pretty much always be stuck in "it could have happened but doesn't effect the plot" limbo).
That said, aside from one particular lategame thing I know is going to be a secret
Oh hey, Big Zam, I don't know if I'll have stage events for all of them. I know at least one of the early ones won't, but then, because of the way it's going to happen, it would be really odd if Tatsuhito joined by killing something during the intermission with his Proto Getter.
A fangame in SRC tried a little something like that. It was already a sequel, and the prologue, aside from having what appeared to be Ideon and Getter Emperor resetting the world, involved the manga Getter team dealing with the Armageddon prologue.
Flash forward a while later, and they've become a mix of their Armageddon and New Getter selves, and recruit a new Neo Getter team to fight evil.
This is the same game that has Tessa from FMP piloting the Daikuu Maryuu, though, so it's clearly taking more than a few liberties.
Still something worth considering if possible. It gives a little incentive for people to actually use them, aside from completionism and feels.
The more I hear about FIRST, the more I mourn the fact that SRC isn't in English so that you'd already be nearly done at this point.
That or I mourn the fact that I'm not able to be neck-deep in a plot summary pastebin that's as big as those Engrishy translations of A and early R over on GameFAQs.
Well, but like, when you get the Invinciball, there's really nothing that I can do to spice that up - it's a Ball, it joins with Shiro but he has his own mech when he joins you, and that thing's not exactly designed for Earth combat anyway so when he joins you in the depths of Asia (actually, hold that thought - 08th is supposed to be somewhere in Southeast Asia, right? Because that's where my plan for it was, and if that's not where it actually is I might need to do revising.) it's kind of pointless. But then when
Topp and Delldo so a few chapters later, there will be a chance for them to do something.
Oh, since we're on the subject of secrets - cool as the idea might be, I must unfortunately let your hopes down, in that
Doan's Zaku is only pilotable by Doan himself. No one else may fire Sekiha Tenkyokens at people.
Well, unit-based stuff I can understand not doing anything with, unless it's a straight unit-based upgrade, like say, Sirbine in BX. (Though does anything change in that scenario if you don't get it? I managed to unlock it on my first run and every run since) So stuff like the Ball I'll grant you, but in the same vein, if Norris was a secret, he could at least have a scene where he holds off a set of enemies trying to attack the main group as they leave the stage and then join them afterward, or something to that effect.
Now, I'm not saying this is a must-have in any regard; I just think it adds a bit of spice, and is an aspect I really liked about UX and BX.
Though one unit-based secret that COULD go the way we've mentioned would be if you made those Ez8 variants part of the game. They could just involve future scenes in the game where Shiro shows off their capabilities. They wouldn't necessarily even need to be mandatory, force-deploy scenes, just something that happens if you do deploy him.
If he shows up in Sirbine if you get it, then yes. He shows up in NC Bilbine if you don't. I didn't get it on my first go and I'm like a stage off that one in my second so I dunno.
Not sure what I'm doing with Ez8 yet. Are any of its variants actually MSV?
>he'll die during your lifetime
>No more Dangaioh, SDF Muhcross, ToeiGetter, RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN or Daimos in SRW
feels bad man.
Kinnikumanin SRW when?
Why ISN'T a wrestling based mecha anime or even just a super robot with more than 1 wrestling move?
Even Dumpson from J-Decker who is the self-proclaimed "Wrestler Detective" doesn't really do any fighting unless he's part of Build Tiger.
Conan isn't the same without him,all because of some fuckup.
>Conan isn't the same without him
HnK too, Kamiya was just too good in basically everything he did.
That's why I can't imagine watching something like a new City Hunter series, it just wouldn't feel right without Kamiya.
Mamoru Miyano voiced an OG character when?
I mean that I'd insert my penis in her vagoo, and then I'd keep thrusting until she gave birth to several children. Also
I'd remake CCA and make BC instead.
You know, I haven't read any of Tomino's novels, but at least their premises look a lot more interesting than his shows.
