Hey /m/ what are some good mecha games, anime, manga, movies ,etc, etc that involve real-world countries or close to real world countries in them? I know of a few like front mission with the United States of the New Continent and the Oceania Cooperative Union. I also know things like muv-luv have that going on. anything you got would be great I love that kind of mecha setting.
ace combat's Osea(USA) and Yuktobania(RU) are ones that come to mind. I miss strangereal.

Gundam SEED and SEED Destiny have roughly analogous supernational states that reflect the trends of where they're positioned on the globe.
Some will say that the show abandons the premise too quickly to showcase it well, so peruse the series at your own discretion.

Getter Robo Go

It doesn't really even show up in the series, but more in the manga.

ill admit i haven't seen seed but I think 00 did a nice job holding the concept un til later on in the series.
im trying to find non Gundam stuff really, I know the Gundam and while I haven't seen Gundam SEED and SEED Destiny their easy enough for me to get intoalthough I heard that seed/destiny wasn't the best

SEED does make a few points of the constituents that form its notFederation, but these don't even make the tertiary level of the show overall. It wouldn't be too far off the mark to say that 00 handles its nations far better than SEED.
And as for Destiny, its handling of the matter is so bad that it would pull down SEED's score in this regard if you put them together. Like the other anon said, it's mostly in the manga spin-offs and even then, there's not a lot of it.
Code Geass has some form of "these nations that sound like ours", so you might want to look at that too.
By and large, though, very few series that aren't games are able to keep focus on that many factions at once, so you will probably have to expend some time searching for the side materials of the series you have in mind in order to be able to see all of the aspects that they in this regard.

yeah I remember watching Code Geass on AS back in the day I never did check out any of the side stuff that inevitably followed. athough I rember looking up the alternate history timeline back some time ago as I am a sucker for alternate history fiction. maybe ill check out the some of the side stuff or just give the series a watch again, it has been a hot minute since I last saw it.
Argevollen and Buddy Complex are some shows that separated the factions decently well, you had the a typical good defending country and the big bad aggressor. Hell I thought for a few episodes the Arge was the Front mission anime we would never get but that's a seperate discussion and buddy complex focuses on character plot mostly.

Gasaraki definitely has what you're looking for, since aside from Belgistan (pretty much Iraq) all the countries are real. I have to warn you it gets weird by the end, but I liked it anyways.
