what is this, a Jet for ants?
It's testing an airframe design that's very much inspired by the F22 since the moonlanders really wanted Raptors back in the day, but the paddle based thrust vector nozzles are apparently unstealthy to a point that it seems more likely it's a testbed for a bunch of things rather than a buildup to a final design.
Also I could see it being designed around anti ship operations and other groundpoundery. Japan is an island nation with a rich seafaring history and all, fucking boats up would be a priority right?
Makes sense. You need boats to land an invasion force on Japanese soil. So the two things that japan needs to worry about most are anti-ship and air interception (be it enemy aircraft or enemy missiles).
Don't. Japan can't be trusted with a real military or advanced weapons. Not until they can look back at what they did in WW2 and realized "Shit, maybe we WERE assholes".
There were people in Japan after the war ended who thought we destroyed their navy and nuked two of their cities just to be mean out of a personal distaste for the Japanese people.
Please, there's a US Naval fleet literally stationed in their backyard at all times, they can't do anything shifty nor would they feel the need to when big bro Sam has their back.
You do realize that Japan's "Self Defense Forces" are actually one of the best equipped and funded military forces out there right now don't you? It's a real military in all but name.
> confirmed for knowing nothing about Germany
Germany can't stop apologizing over WW2, to the point that its almost illegal to even talk about the Nazi's there outside of saying "and that was terrible".
Japan, meanwhile, either refuses to admit they did anything at all or says that what they did do can't have been terrible because there was a war on.
I love this meme.
They finished paying the last of their reparation money back in the 70's, and have apologized multipe times throughout the years, but the chinks and gooks always drag it out like the jews drag out the shoah.
French Armee: 111,628
Japan also has far more armoured fighting vehicles, especially MBTs, artillery as well as more helicopters, both combat and utility.
In terms of air power, the JASDF is also larger than the French Air Force and the JMSDF is larger than the French Navy.
Oh boy, oh boy. What about yankee doodles and Nicaragua, Vietnam, Panama, Cuba, Iraq, Honduras, Washington, Uruguay, Guatemala, Cambodia, Laos, Detroit, Pakistan...
... damn, the list is longer than I even expected. You're basically the global serial criminal numero uno of the last hundred years.
Depends on the branch. On the ground France definitely comes out ahead, but when it comes to the sea and sky. Japan has more aircraft and more naval tonnage (Although they have roughly the same number of ships).
The German fanaticism and insane, irrational cult like mentality exists today. Germany with a military will always be dangerous for the continued stability of Europe. Different colours, same people. Just wait until they start shelling and bombing nations that refuse to get cucke- I mean refuse to accept endless refugees and accommodate them at the expense of the country's citizens.
I don't think you understand the concept of interstate interaction. There is a difference between what a statesman says privately and speaking on behalf of a country. Japan has only officially apologized to Korea for comfort women last year because they want to be on good terms. All the other "apologies" were either "regrets" or unoffical statements. That' isn't to say China or Korea isn't using this to their political advantage. But Japan has never apologized in official terms.
As a jew even I think Germany's shame is excessive.
Remember when they hounded that old ass ex Nazi and even the Jewish community was pretty much "seriously?" When the Tribe says to never forget, that shouldn't mean go full 180 and be a Nazi-Nazi.
However you want to dub the Kraut reactionary phenomenon.
>low power engine with 3D thrust, which is complex to implement and problematic in flight as in the X-31
>tiny plane with tiny internal bay in a supposed stealth aircraft
This is just a bargaining chip to get better deals on F-35s. It's not gonna get anywhere other than aircraft expos.
It's surprising due to its new context and form of impression, but... you know, I think Germans just hold obsessiveness as a cultural trait. They probably nurture it by accident, what with its focus being in doing things right and proper, but... you really have to be careful in telling them what right and proper is, because they might take it to places you'd never expect.
The Swiss had a globe-spanning Empire at one point and generally kept themselves on top by chopping up their enemies and having the bits put on display throughout their realm.
On the other hand, Netanyahu said something about Iran (or some other country) being involved in the Holocaust, and Germany had to go and say "um, actually, it was pretty much just us." It's gotten really weird, but maybe it's just because of Netanyahu.
Better than the Iranians' plexiglass and wood thing
Please, this shit is nothing new. It's also pretty much useless against modern missiles.
those paddles are unstealthy as fuck though, theres a reason they havent been seen since the 80s.
It's good in the merge in the event the AMRAAM wall doesn't do its job. Or you're up against slavs who have a fondness for high alpha design and aim to assrape boats in naval skirmishes anyway.
France is warmongering the part of Africa that isn't in China's hands since forever, they wanted and obtained the war on Libya.
Surrender my ass, they made everything worse for everyone in that god forsaken continent.
Anti air missiles are crazy good now. The likelihood of missing, especially with the advanced sensors of most western aircraft is extremely low.
>as your government bombs Syrians civilians.
you mean Russians? Americans have been pretty specific with their strikes with Syria, Russia just doesnt give a fuck.
Germany is just really sad.
They apologize so hard for WWII, its almost comical, if not for the fact that they are apologizing for shit that doesn't really matter to anyone nowadays except the butthurt people.
Just look at the amount of shit they won't do because of said shame over shit that the current leadership had nothing to do with.
>Very likely to not restore the Maus, THE heaviest tank ever built
>Not even Porsche, the company that built it wants to, despite the fact that Ferdinand Porsche, the founder of the company, designed it
And according to the guys who once tried to do so but stopped because it was stupidly expensive, the blueprints of the parts aren't being disclosed by Germany either so even if they want to do it, they have to use non-historical parts.
>but the paddle based thrust vector nozzles are apparently unstealthy
It only affects rear aspect stealth. Seems to me the japs will focus on frontal aspect stealth. They don't need to design a plane that will go deep into enemy territory to blow up high value targets, that is what the F-35 is for. They need a plane for anti-ship and air-to-air combat, where rear aspect stealth is not as vital.
Yeah Germany needs to get over it. Everyone else is. Yet they act like its all their personal faults still.
That said and put aside, Ferdinand Porsche was a based man. (I admit I'm both a fanboy of his work and his compnies work even after he died)
>this butthurt commie still ass mad about losing the cold war
>defending people from decades of the worse sort of brutality the world has ever seen
>most of those countries begged the USA for intervention and aid
>a criminal act
What ever you say retard.
Well the F-35 does need to carry all that Burger freedom in it's internal weapons bay.
Honestly it's fucking brilliant. If the plane doesn't exist, those American imperialist bastards will never be able to pick it up on radar. Easily the greatest stealth fighter of our time.
There is one or two on pixiv. People who are exposed to a variety of fighter jets enough to bother thinking up designs to real-world craft are probably a minuscule pool of people amongst the entire fanbase.
Though, according to two or three threads back the latest LD only has MiGs. So image related should be from the other ML-related book from the last Winter comiket.
It's not age doing the publishing for that LD books like they usually do but Kooki is involved in it all the same so it's... uh... non-official rendition from one of the official designer of TSFs?
It's a book from Winter comiket by a circle with only one work to their name, probably not older than 2015, and non-porn, to boot. I think scans won't be coming for a looooooooooong time.
On the other hand I was told of its existence by someone else who was watching the twitter feed of an age staff member, and Kouki is credited as mechanical designer for it, amongst other things, so, yeah. Non-official rendition from one of the official designer of TSFs, I guess.
Actually, ISIS wasn't caused by the US going into the middle east. It was caused by the US pulling out because it was unpopular and not making sure that the Iraqi government wasn't going to absolutely shoot themselves in the face the moment that we got in the car to leave.
Did the leadership of Isis meet up and initially start working together inside of insurgent imprisonment camps in Iraq? Yes. But it was the Iraqi's who decided that running those camps was too much trouble and just opened the gates and let everyone leave.
The same government who decided to stop paying the Sons of Iraq mercenary group, the ones that the US relied on heavily to maintain control in large parts of Iraq, because of religious differences with the prime minister. As mercenaries now out of a job, they went to whoever was willing to pay them. And that turned out to be Islamic State, giving them not just most of their original fighting force but their best equipped and trained portion of it.
Isis never would have existed, or at the very least would have been a much smaller problem, if the Iraqi's had just kept up the mitigating actions that the US had in place when we pulled out. They didn't, and it almost immediately blew up in everyone's faces.
We were in such a rush to get out of Iraq for campaign promises that we made it worse and are still cleaning up the mess anyway.
>We were in such a rush to get out of Iraq for campaign promises that we made it worse and are still cleaning up the mess anyway.
I don't think you have boots on the ground anymore at this point though. It's just bombing with only very minimal figures on the ground.
Yeah, things blew up, but so far it has only been on other people, not the USA.
The only reason America allows them to have said force is because they know China and North Korea would act up sooner or later, and who else better to go up against them than the ones who violated them before?
>So... what qualifications does the dude we picked to be EL PRESIDENTO GENERALISSIMO ETERNALE for this country have?
>A... A 'ave 'een him sittin' across the room once during an oil deal.
NOTHING CAN GO WRONG.
you literally just outlined how it's our fault, just with more specificity.
guess that the japanese will still need a decade before they can catch up to China's already superior airpower in asia.
Ironically, the world complains when the US does that, and complains when we don't. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't type of situation.
Does that thing still shit out black smoke?
>Does that thing still shit out black smoke?
That's the J-31, an export fighter with a lack of funding and interest from the PLAAF.
The J-20 is pretty decent, having already reached LRIP phase and soon IOC by 2017.
pic is LRIP plane 01 in zinc cromate primer.
It is actually fairly maneuverable, despite having no TVC. It does some neat and fast turns.
Those large control sufaces do the job.
control surface test shows it.
poststall maneuvering performance is unknown, but that's not important anyway, as the J-20 has those LOAL high off boresight missiles in the class of the IRIS-T.
>Ironically, the world complains when the US does that, and complains when we don't.
..and when they say that they'll do it themselves, the US always insists that they do not fucking build up their military forces to scratch.
Last time the question came up was under Bush 2, btw.
So yeah, the US citizens are stuck with being the World Police the way Saudis are stuck with the House of Saud and the Germans with their work being grossly undervalued.
No it's not a jet for ants its clearly the first stage of a core fighter. Basics, anon. You can't build an Earthnoid mobile suit without getting the core block right first.
I wish someone invent a radar that will easily detect these "stealth" planes. Or missile defense system that will render even the most advanced missiles useless.
So this BVR-engagement doctrine that decided by one lock and one missile launch can die already.
And then we can put arms on fighter jets so they can wrestle each other in the sky.
Making a system to spoof both heatseekers and BVR missiles might be easier than simply detecting the stealth plane itself.
In short all fighters end up carrying their own bubble of safety around. Well, probably.
A fight with who? USA? Why the shit would the go to war with USA?
And if you think they couldn't defend themselves from the chinks you are crazy. China has no capability to assault Japan.
Ass-backwards redneck reinvention of history.
No USA in Iraq = no ISIS.
Hell, no USA in Iraq = no Saddam either. No USA in Afghanistan = no goddamn Bin Laden either. Or let's go a little farther - no Bush clan and the whole milind sector cronying up with runaway unscrutinizeable security services = no whole 911 either.
tl;dr - yankee go home
You did. Until the Afghani shot them in the ass enough that they got weepy and went home, often in boxes.
Just like you are. Playing cowboys and indians with indians that have guns too not so fun afterall?
