>How to get into KR and where to start?
>List of subbed series:
>Kamen Rider Ghost Episode 16 Preview
We're going to make it bruh!
>Ganbaride only? So how many names are left in the belt?
For the ones that are actual people, Seven.
Columbus, Darwin, Da Vinci (Even though he's a Ganma), Ishinomori, Napoleon, Nightingale, and Shakespeare.
Also, Himiko's persona is just a girly Ore.
what is brotou looking at?
Does Necrom's eye change based on form? It's hard to tell, and easy to blame on the lighting.
And would the Megalouder be better if it didn't go vertical?
I think so.
>every Rider gets jelly of Hongo's gains and starts lifting
>By the 50th anniversary every suit is redesigned to be swole
Grimm, because books, but I mean the color of the eye.
They'll probably actually slim him down and try to make him look sleeker
There's no rhyme or reason to these redesigns really because if there were Rider 2 would be the buff one and Rider 1 would've looked leaner
Why are classical music fights always great? Also, Wizard hasn't been too bad yet. Admittedly, I'm only 20 episodes in, and it's not going to crack my top 3 or anything, but it's been solid enough so far.
I want to be hyped but honestly that suit is turning me off way too much
Kuuga's suits were, in terms of material quality, cheap pieces of shit. Rider suits only got really expensive to make starting from Agito. And even then, that was mostly G3's fault.
You know at this point I'm used to this shit.
Those pauldrons seriously look like they'll hinder his arm movement, can he even lift his arms straight up?
Mostly foam rubber, I think. Actually, until Hibiki, most Rider suits were primarily made out of foam rubber. There were a few exceptions, though, like G3 which used a large amount of plastic.
Plastic suits are generally more expensive than foam, but they last longer and don't look as silly in certain scenes. Like, you know how Faiz's chestpiece is supposed to be rubber? Occasionally, when he gets hit in the chest, you can see that the chestpiece is actually pretty soft, way softer than its appearance suggested. That doesn't really happen anymore, since ever since Hibiki, Riders are primarily composed of plastic and latex.
>got a Ryuki-lite with Gaim
>Decade expy very likely in 2019
>single rider series with no 2ndary is probably out of the question for modern Toei
>still no fresh/unique rider series like Hibiki
Legend Rider forms made the concept of a Decade expy pretty pointless. Also, due to the way Decade's power works, there's really nothing stopping Decade from using the powers of Riders that come after him, other than the writers' unwillingness to do so.
Twentieth anniversary Rider should be something more unique.
I want a Decade expy 20th anniversary Rider who summons new versions of past Rider belts using a right-arm-mounted brace (because all the other braces are on the left arm). "New version" a la Gaoh, Dark Drive, any Sengoku Driver Rider, etc.
It'll never happen in a million fucking years, but still.
>tfw Kamen Rider Chronos will never be a thing
>20th anniversary of Heisei
>Series has hacker motif
>Villains based off the MIB
>Main rider can control time and changes rider's timelines as he sees fit in order to prevent a future cataclysm
>Villains are called Modsters (modification + mobster)
>Main rider can control time and has forms based off different time periods
>Secondary can warp matter
>Main evil clique is called the Pantheon, members are all named after Greek, Etruscan, and Roman Gods
>Rider's final form can control time, space, and matter, effectively giving them the power to manipulate reality itself
>Item that gives final form was supposed to be a doomsday device that causes this big cataclysm, power boost is from the slain spirits of enemy monsters
If there was a Buddha Eyecon what do you think it would do for Ghost? I get the feeling that it would be like Boost, but it can't do Ghost Changes.
Because no one is as enlightened as Buddha.
>it looks so bulky that Hongo could fit in it
That's literally the point of it.
Either way probably either Okamoto or maybe even Fujioka himself
Actually for a 40th anniversary thing it'd be pretty fucking baller for Toei to let Fujioka don the costume again and do his stunts himself.
No, I didn't.
Okay, Buddhas are their own class of Eyecon.
Rider 1 is the meat of the movie, while Ghost and gang are side characters.
Fujioka spent 5 months working with Toei staff to plan and make the movie.
Oh no, I thought there was A Buddha. The guy that founded Buddhism. I will admit, I'm a fucking idiot, and I didn't do my research.
>45 eps in
Pretty sure it's revealed right after that it's because
Wiseman/White Wizard wanted to recruit mage Riders from people who could resist their Phantoms.Hell it may have been revealed before that, I don't remember.
damn, so this is basically his movie. It's still a ballsy move to make a Rider movie with an old man as a protag even with a new suit.
It's not just "an old man." It's Hiroshi Fujioka. Dude's often billed as Japan's last genuine samurai, a master martial artist and blacksmith, and crafted his own fuckin' swords for use in a period drama he's starring in.
Hell, they named a planet after him.
>Rider 1 is the meat of the movie, while Ghost and gang are side characters.
For real? He was only in the flesh for a total of like two minutes in KRT.
>Kamen Rider Buddha
>Has too many forms to be a Movie Rider
If Time is playing a major part then maybe it would be cogs or keys?
Nigga they want his nuclear dick inside them.
We were just talking in the last thread the primary reason they're giving him a new suit is because they can't sell toys to kids with the old suit if he's the protag.
After this movie kids will love him more.
Rider 1 rules.
Kouta's actor can actually do back flips and shit. I dunno if it's canon that he's all that physcially able in the show.
Aran just tried to take on both riders in human form last ep of Ghost and he's necrom which counts for something I guess
Ryusei's pretty badass without the suit.
He is also Segata Sanshiro
>Kamen Rider became Segata Sanshiro!
And the Who fangirls are all over Capaldi's dick.
As Shirakura said Rider 1 never got his own movie back in the days due to Fujioka's injury. He is always accompanied by Rider 2 in the featured films.
This movie is completely dedicated to Hongo and Rider 1, something that is not possible in the past.
I guess this means no other Showa Riders will appear in this movie.
>As Shirakura said Rider 1 never got his own movie back in the days due to Fujioka's injury.
That's really not true though. Kamen Rider vs Ambassador Hell is Hongo-only (which is kind of bulshit too, since the project started as an adaptation of the manga's last chapter).
Shirakura's a fucking retard because Kamen Rider vs Ambassador Hell was entirely Rider 1's movie. Or maybe that doesn't count because it was only about 45 minutes?
In fact that's the movie where Fujioka's legs were actually still bleeding during the fight scenes on Mt Fuji so he used duct tape to bandage the wounds.
Presumably since Hongo's only exclusive movie was originally a heavily changed adaptation that' became a 45 minute flick, they're trying to give him a proper, feature-length film.
Once they reach their late 20s and 30s older men start looking good to them.
But then again Japanese women are weird there is a whole group that obsess over dead samurai and generals like they're male idols.
No, you're wrong.
I downloaded W. Watched three episodes with friends. I haven't watched anything like this since I discarded Polish-dubbed Power Rangers as pointless kiddie shit. This is kinda fun. Cheesy and the fight scenes aren't Bruce Lee tier, but I kinda like it.
What is the main thing that appeals to you with these shows, guys? Because for me the quality is je ne sais quoi.
I'd say it's an appreciation for choreography that's handled beyond just action or dancing. But that's more minor, I also appreciate the various suit designs and character interactions. Every show has put out lots of unique scenarios we wouldn't really see otherwise, and they're typically quite entertaining.
Not even that stuff I mean they're like history fetishists. They have collect old books, painting, anything related to old samurai. This was before the surge of games and shows like Sengoku Basara.
The heroic battles between good and evil and the bare knuckle beat downs that follow. It's a whole package deal for me. The suits, the music, the characters and relationships, and the fights. There's a pleasant blend of straight-facedness, humor, and self-awareness that makes it all cohesive.
I think W's good for all of it too with the exception of the actual plot, which goes well and then crashes in the last episode.
Story and characters are the things that make me keep on wanting to watch rider, they can be super goofy and make for some fun scenes, or they can be in a super serious situation and make some genuinely heartbreaking ones.
Fourze had that going on with it.
>Ben 10 Aliens as past riders
>Heatblast as #1
>Swampfire as Kuuga
>Way Big as J
>XLR8 as Kabuto
>Upgrade as Necrom
>tfw just finished drive for the second time
>tfw episode 45
god damn i thought i could handle it a second time
Is he the weakest secondary ever?
>gets beat down constantly
>would be dead 15 times over if it werent for haruto
>gets his belt stolen by an old man
>gets beat up by some thugs hired by his own friend
>gets beat up by a kid he taught how to ride a bike
>needs to eat mana to feed chimera but can only ever last-shot ghouls and even that he sometimes fails at
>gets constantly bullied for being an archetype
>cant win a fight so he breaks his belt so cgi can save the day
>damage output literally relies on RNG
>straight-facedness, humor, and self-awareness
This, I think. It kind of gets the premise is kind of silly, but that doesn't stop them from making great stories with it, and I think that mix of silliness and honesty makes for a very strong mix.
Also, it's fun to indulge your chuunibyou tastes every now and again.
For me, every toku series I feel I watch with different expectations in mind, but Kamen Rider I watch for the show and not just the fights and costumes (but that's a huge part of it) unlike Sentai which I watch more to just have fun (but also for the fights and costumes)
What kind of asshole doesn't get invested in the story and characters anyway?
The muscles are like Ascended Sayians. It's holding him back. He can't even lift his arm all the way! Imagine how strong he'd be if he could actually do his full pose?! Right now he's only Rider kicking at 75%!
Mach was worse. Weaker than someone using the inferior belt system, has to use hand me down upgrades, betrays his friends to rescue the villain, refuses to befriend another rider until said rider sacrifices himself and gives his power so Mach can survive.
Nah, that was actually a boy, he was that badass kid who punched everyone in that episode of Go-Busters. I'm pretty sure the girl who played young Yuto is of age now. Who knows, Yuto could be hot.
>old man rider
>young boy rider
they really tryin to stretch that demographic arent they
Every year the spring movies just add insult to the franchise. Giving Rider 1 a new ugly ass suit is fucking disgraceful, and wasting Fujioka on this film is even worse. He needs his own proper movie, not a shitty crossover. Every year they keep doing this shit, and it's just painful to look at.
Bullshit. It's exactly what Shirakura wants. That piece of shit is exactly why we get these retarded movies. Rider 1 doesn't need a more powerful form because he gets stronger through fighting. That's his thing! Shirakura just wants to milk the franchise for cash, he doesn't give a shit.
Fujioka probably wasn't as involved as that article wants you to think.
No? All I want is for these stupid Spring movies to stop. They're terrible! And Drive is the biggest offender for making its Spring movie canon to the TV series and trying to introduce a new Showa Rider who looks like a The next reject.
>Fujioka probably wasn't as involved as that article wants you to think.
Fujioka himself was talking for the past two months about how much fun he's been having with all the control he's had over the movie.
I bet you also think he didn't choose that shit outfit he wore in KRT as well.
I meant for it to signify "not shitty" but I guess I coulda worded that better.
You sure? Literally the only thing I've ever seen on par with Rising Ultimate is that new Chaser form.
>Liking shit tier fake designs
Spring movies are pefect for fucking retards like you. You don't see what an insult shit like this is to the franchise? You can't just make a new Showa Rider and give him a modern style. It goes against everything,
But no keep enjoying your shit because people like you don't care about Kamen Rider.
Sorry, I am too narcissistic to kill myself.
>Rider 1 doesn't need a more powerful form because he gets stronger through fighting. That's his thing!
And yet officially that's the reason for the color changes from blue to green in the original series.
Besides, they already had the modified Typhoon belt in Rider Taisen, so further modifications aren't coming out of nowhere at this point.
you can eat me ass, i think the new swole rider 1 looks like ass but i love rider 3's design, even if it isnt a "muh showa" design using cardboard and life rafts
Kuroichi's a shit character but Oikawa's a fun actor and made a great theme song to go alongside a pretty cool-looking outfit.
He's popping up maybe twice in the next ten years and that's it anyway, he'll never be anything but a New Den-O esque "Oh shit it's a crossover let's do something with it" idea.
Thank you. You understand. Japan kids know Rider 1. He's everywhere over there. They may not have seen the original series, but they know who he is. Every kid has been to the Bandai Museum at LEAST once.
>keeping rider 1 relevant
>disregarding superior true rider 1 in kuuga
ill never understand
>armor so bulky he can't even do his signature pose
Why was this allowed?
You say that now, but I wonder if this is going to create a Kiva situation where the new suit is so bulky and uncomfortable to move around in that they either end up re-engineering it or just going back to the old one
Apparently not. Grimm has a square lens border, but Sanzo doesn't change.
Also as an added detail the "normal eye" on those two is green, like it's blue for Specter's and silver for Ghost's.
Well, they still use base Kiva in all crossovers in spite of it being uncomfortable. It's not like he'd appear in a 50 episode tv show, it's just some minutes in a movie (talking about future appearances where he won't be the main character).
Using Necrom apparently makes Makoto crazy.
Or he changes sides again even though he's already declared he's firmly against the Ganma.
More than once.
I was thinking keys of some sort, he also has a brace that acts like a power glove, allowing him to stop, slow down, reverse, or speed up time. There's a catch, though, as every second that he fights, another second is taken off of the his lifespan, so he has to defeat the MOTWs in order to replenish his time and stay alive
There are ugly-ass kids and adults.
There are hot adults and some would argue that there are hot kids. (Remember where we are.)
Age doesn't really have any correlation with attractiveness.
I don't think many would argue that the Kamen Rider 3 movie was good, but the suit itself is perfectly fine.
Him and Ghost are getting something around around April or May according to the image that gets posted when ever someone asks this or asks if Grateful is Ghost's final upgrade.
Necrom probably won't get anything else though
Quit spreading that old bullshit.
Odagiri simply found the role difficult and was unhappy with it. He also doesn't want Kuuga to be the only thing he's known for and wants to promote the work he's either currently doing or is happier with, so he deflects questions about Kuuga when he's being interviewed for other stuff.
The whole thing about "destroying Kamen Rider" means he thought Kuuga would revitalize and reinvent the franchise based on what it was at the time. Never once has he said he hated Kamen Rider as a whole and anyone saying otherwise misconstrued his words.
Speaking of roles Odagiri's proud of, how many of you have seen "My Way"? Shit's an amazing movie, probably the reason why I know Odagiri's prowess as an actor isn't just blowing smoke
why is it so rare that actors in kamen rider shows ever actually amount to anything afterwards? I mean the guy from Den-O seemed to hit it big since he's Kenshin, but everytime I look up an actor or actress from whatever they seem to completely disappear or are in obviously shitty movies? Shouldn't 50 episodes look good on a resume?
It's a jump start, but it's pretty much impossible that every novice actor that stars in the show is going to become a big success afterwards. I think Rider's track record ever since Kabuto is actually pretty good actually - especially if you compare with Sentai's.
Most of them settle in to dramas or decent amounts of work but, like most actors, few leap to stardom.
A lot of them are constantly working though just in dramas or theater and such.
Most seem to have a steady line of work, starring in a movie or series at least once a year, at least.
Basically, he's lost popularity despite being a blooming star thanks to OOO. A while back, when he was doing promotion for the Live action AoT, one of the hosts asked why is he doing minor work when he's proven to be a lot more.
He stayed silent as a response.
Will we ever get a rider sequel series? I remember when Fourze started airing people thought a new season of Faiz would be next because of how they were naming the shows in phase 2. It was such a cool idea.
Rotating producer system makes it very unlikely.
Then, again, we did get that Drive -> Ghost transition episode that was even acknowledged in a flashback in Ghost. I guess eventually we could get a more elaborate version of that type of transition that would basically make one show a sequel to the previous one.
Even if they carried over cast though, it'd probably end up like RX, where the next season is nothing like the previous one, due to different staff.
>he doesn't know who about La Men or thirsty fedora tipping Shotaro
There seems to be a subbed trailer, not sure about the movie.
The Japanese industry's idea of popularity is weird. You can do a ton of movies and still not be considered popular. If you do a lot of TV you gain a following much more. The hierarchy is Music, TV, Movies.
Singers/Idols gain notoriety much quicker and can stay in the lime light longer if they appeal to fans constantly but one mistake and it's over, TV shows are a good starting point but the real shit is variety shows. if you can make your rounds on talk shows and shit people take notice, movies is last because Japanese folks go to see a movie and forget it. They will recall a drama or show more than they will a film.
Kamen Rider Big Bad
>He could have had a a strait jacket decorated in chains
>He could have just used his magic on the bike to my it fly
>Instead we get an unexplained mystery
>A magician never reveals his secrets
That's a damn shame. I'm watching OOO with my baby brother right now and he's great. I didn't even fucking know that he sang more than just the Tajador song, he did them all?
I hope we see him again some day.
That trailer was pure gold
I feel seriously bad for ol' Shu he is super talented and if he wanted he could have started his own band after OOO since he is a damn good singer, and I mean both in studio and on stage as opposed to many rider being helped in the studio but have a shit stage voice. I feel damn bad for him I hope he comes back he is one of the most likeable people in rider to date.
I haven't watched Kamen Rider since I dropped Wizard 1/3rd of the way through. How's Ghost been and how did Drive turn out? They both look pretty fun and much better than Wizard.
Do Den-O and Ryuki have decent subs yet?
SubVent is slowly releasing Ryuki
OrangeLion started doing Den-O weekly then changed to batches and I imagine the first batch should release in 2-3 months
if we're lucky and they aren't dead
Wizard has one of the best pilot episodes of a Rider series in my opinion, and it makes me really fucking mad that it couldn't use that springboard to develop anywhere interesting.
We always talk about the boys, has any Kamen Rider heroine achieved a successful career?
Makoto Okunaka (Koyomi) seems to be doing pretty well for herself.
Even back during Wizard she was the most popular member of Passpo, and she eventually left/graduated from the group to pursue an idol career entirely on her own.
>Yongou didn't die on his trip
Damn, at least he can't scrub
There shouldn't be anything wrong with a rider having a key gimmick, unless it's because sentai did it first which is a really dumb double standard.
Then again I'm not against the idea of Chronos having a cog/gear gimmick, it's just that a cog/gear gimmick would be more difficult to engineer with interlocking teeth and what-not
>dat nod to Sailor Moon's catchphrase
Not him, but I got it downloaded and am still too scared to play it. I don't want to be disappointed with a Sentai series and ruin the magic of it all.
ToQ is great though. Unless you hate fun.
Whatever happened to that group that was resubbing Blade with the really good quality?
I've been out of the loop for a few months
There was literally never any such group. There was some ESL guy who could barely speak English and some scrubbers that couldn't speak Japanese just polishing a turd essentially.
What I mean is that I stopped after Shinkenger or so and had a bunch of fun. Fuck it though, if everyone says its fun, I gotta at least try it.
I hope that second Taisen movie ended up good, I might as well get through that.
>Unless you hate fun
So If they finished it, where might one find it?
Also thanks anon
/ssg/ loves Carranger though and that's the most fun sentai. Stop talking out of your ass on the count of them being sick to death of the same anons posting pictures of Kagura and Kasumi all fucking day saying how much they wanna smell their armpits or whatever.
Thanks! Appreciate It.
Do I have to get every episode one by one as it seems or is there a bulk torrent on this page?
You must be joking. He said himself that he has trouble meeting deadlines and if he were to sub Beetle it would be in batches. Anons would complain and complain like they do with OL and Den-O. Nothing would change
nigga that's kawaii
Groovy, I Just got confused becuase some Jackoff commented on that mega batch asking if there would be a collection with blade.
Again, thanks a ton!
/ssg/ is too dead to complain about anything.
The unwarranted hate against ToQger I do find grating though, it was a really solid season. It has nothing to do with Kagura.
He likes warriors and warrior armor, anon.
He appeared in European armor suddenly for an event for the Blu Ray of Dracula Untold. His recent drama has him donning warlord gear. He loves
New Rider 1 is basically a knight.
err these are .ASS files, could you recomend me something to use to watch them?
Not gonna lie, I'm basically Just used to going to overtime and Just grabbing stuff that already works lol....
Anon would you rather
>A person who knows what he's doing, competent in typesetting, delays a product because he's not happy with it currently, actually listens to feedback
>A person who questions his job, knows fuck all about typesetting, delays a product because he wants to have a vacation, gives bullshit reasons when feedback is given
>You will never fuck Peachy while she cosplays Ghost Himiko soul.
Ok then what do I do to play mkv fileS? :v
>to have a vacation
I thought he had family shit to deal with.
Besides, he said that the break would just be the days he was driving from one state to another, he said that no episodes for February was the worst case scenario
The point is, if you know you're going to be missing for a while, you create a buffer for people to catch up and have a reason as to why releases are slowing down. Batches are genius for this idea and which is why I support eieiOH for working on Kabuto.
Guy needs to finish Rider 4 jokesubs first of course, but he stated he's done with jokesubs after that. Meaning he can shift focus to doing more official work.
It's not about would I rather, I've already seen the show and enjoyed it.
It's about the anon implying eieiOH would get it out faster when he stated himself, in a past thread, that he wouldn't be able to because he is in the process of getting a bachelors degree.
Check the archive if you need a source.
I sound like a ten year old
or so I've been told,
but you don't need a voice that's low to make the microphone gold.
other's claim that they be midas but they got laryngitis,
so wont‘cha kick it with the mc with the voice that's the highest.
I surprised how much this question is asked.
Since the beginning I always thought it was obvious that this is supposed to be an allusion to Houdini's iconic escape act which had him chained inside a tank. Think about it. His hoodie is chained inside the bike.
Instead of a tank, it is a bike. Because Kamen Rider. I mean, did you want an OOOs moment when Spectre has to ride a literal tank of water?
Things that /ssg/ doesn't vehemently hate
>show old enough to give them S3N74I 3XP3R7 cred
That's about it. Watch then start to complaining about Jetman in a few months if people keep praising it.
The same as me with this semen of demon
It's love Anon, it's love.
>we will never find out if he passed them
It's not the same. I shouldn't be feeling this way.
>you're going to be missing for a while
But Yongou was gone for 2 days.
>Went off on Monday
>Updated on Tuesday
>Confirmed he was done with driving today
So he isn't busy, he just needs to get a new power cord or whatever
>But he will be late with Kabuto like last week
He probably was packing for the trip, since he is staying in a different state for a month or something.
>why I support eieiOH for working on Kabuto.
Here's the thing, I remember Ei saying something about not wanting to do subs alone. And when he did it with a group the whole thing fell apart
Besides metronome is gonna do kabuto so this all doesn't matter
Who is your favourite secondary rider /krg/?
would you a kaito?
