Since the original Gundam TV show actually bombed, and that it was the model and toy sales that saved the franchise, I think it is a bit late to only realise it now.

There are never any sales figures for gunpla. On Bandai's annual reports it all gets lumped together under "Gundam" to show how much the license itself is generating.

It produced a lot of good gunpla accessories and made kitbashing a lot easier. It injected more life into the lifeblood of Gundam, which is Gunpla. The show can be fucking Beyblade for all I care; I just wanted the models (and resultant porn doujinshi from the shows' girls).

Graze has been really popular with modelers and customizers. I swear half the yearly compilations featuring gunpla from 2chan's model board last month had graze, often more than one (And not different versions of the graze, I mean multiples of the original kit customized in different ways). A fair amount of barbatos too. I have no idea how well the models are doing past that though.

Bunch of guys I know have taken the bait. I'm starting to feel bad withholding the show's weaker-than-AGE's ratings from them. They're going to hurt if the show doesn't get a season 2 but I don't want to ruin their fun (even though they're using it to take potshots at G-Reco).

Build Fighters Gunpla was selling so well that people involved were all over Twitter talking about it. Build Fighters was so popular and well liked that it caused fans from all over the world to send in collages of their Gunpla in the same pose as Build Strike while thanking Bandai.

No one gives a shit about IBO as a whole. You don't hear about Bandai bragging about it, you don't hear much discussion about it. Even Try had them talking about how Build Burning was outselling G-Self and that Gunpla were performing well.
