Are there any mecha anime that feel like Initial D? You know what I mean by that.
I wonder about the SS markings on germany-tan's face. She looks otherwise acceptable, but... gee, can't you think of anything else when you think Germany? It's 2016, for chrissakes.
Or well, mighta been 1986 when the image came out.
It's not the only good thing, but it's clearly the best thing about it.
And eurobeat, regardless of context, is fucking amazing.
Personally I come for the cars and racing, and despite Wangan Midnight mostly being straight line highway stuff just struck a cord with me.
Eurobeats good just doesn't make it instantly better in my eyes.
I really enjoyed the original pilot, with the deathmatch stuff. Was super cool at the time, especially since CN had a W40K clone flash game to coincide with its Toonami airing.
Not OP but what he (or she) meant was likely was there a mecha show in the style of the anime he was mentioning, using the anime as a way to describe what he wanted, such as, for example saying "I like sailor moon...is there a mecha anime like it?", meaning that they are looking for something magical-girl ish in the mecha genre
Sometimes its best to consider the context of the question and not just the object its referencing before jumping to conclusions, you know...
>Initial D should be fine if we can talk about trains and other things
Initial D threads don't belong here. There are threads about it on /o/ all the time. That is where it should be.
Also, trains don't belong on /m/ either.
>Also, trains don't belong on /m/ either.
Fuck off newfag.
It's really derivative and uninspiring but I wouldn't call it shit necessarily. It was clearly designed for western children who at that point in time had not seen very much anime, so they would have been fine with all the cliches and tropes.
