>List of subbed series:
>Super Hero Time OSTs:
>DO NOT MAKE NEW GENERALS WHEN IT IMMEDIATELY REACHES BUMP LIMIT. WAIT TILL IT GETS TO PAGE 6 TO MAKE A NEW GENERAL!!!! MOD RULES!
The things I would've done to both of them.....especially evil Ahim
What is weird is that he had started to do a 2nd round of his scrub with new better raws, but then he just disappeared. It makes it seem like it wasn't planned that he'd be done afterwards but chose to anyway.
Or he's dead in some Brazilian favela somewhere.
That would be assuming the subninjas are actually competent in their job.
In here (granted I know hearsay is not reliable). Apparently, the translator in question did not take criticism very well, although there isn't any visible evidence. All I noticed is some out-of-context replies to the Blue Lattice thing.
I'll always be biased about Jetman because of it being the first series that got me into the franchise proper. I love what I've seen of Timeranger, but it's been over 6 months since O-T did an episode.
Probably because Timeranger was highly regarded in Japan, so they assume it's good.
I think this is crap tho. People thought Ohranger was shit but at worst it's middling, same with Goseiger.
Lin a cute. CUTE.
Love the swimsuit btw.
After watching the latest episode of Ninninger, I think Ariake no Kata will help bring down both Gengetsu and Kyuemon. She's already depressed that her son was killed and now she has to deal with another that was born from her husband mistress.
Oh hey it's this guy again.
He seems to really like working in Sentai.
>Literally Cuck: The Sentai Villain
All of my keks.
>People thought Ohranger was shit but at worst it's middling
I had no opinion about it before watching it, but its the only sentai season, aside form Akibaranger 2 that I would call bad.
Sentai was pretty hardcore back in the day huh.
Have you watched Fiveman? It's pretty lame.
Turboranger is kind of formulaic and bland but it tries to do more than Fiveman does.
Though Fiveman does have its ironic moments. There's this one episode where they try to make the monster grow, but fuck up, and the monster just dies outright. No giant robot battle.
Damn. Even the face actors were hardcore.
So this is what Akibaranger referenced.
He's my favourite. I really wish he could've come back as a villian in Gokaiger, but apparently he hates the direction Sentai has gone in.
No source, I just read it on /m/ a few years ago.
You can watch Gokaiger whenever you want. It's reccomended to watch after other series so that you could more enjoy the tribute episodes.
And what exactly were your problems with jetman and Megaranger? Those are some popular series so without knowing what you didn't like about them, it'd be hard to reccomend anythig else.
>Can I watch Gokai if I've watched a series after Gokaiger?
Nope, once you've watched a post Gokaiger series you are completely incapable of watching Gokaiger. You should've rotated your saves.
>Can I watch Gokai if I've watched a series after Gokaiger?
Gokaiger tributes the previous shows si it's the same.
>If not, what series are entertaining even though they're old.
I'd say Dekaranger is a good bet for that. If not, Boukenger.
Someone told me I just had to watch one to understand the spirit of sentai. Could I understand by watching one that came after is my question.
I've watched Go Busters and Toqger, do I understand the spirit yet?
I got to like episode 6 with Jetman, and 2 with Megaranger. Found them too formulaic with the characters and story. I've seen most power rangers shows so the setting is all too well known to me. I enjoy the shows that try to spice up the dynamic like Go Busters.
If I should pick them back up how far should I get before "HAPPENING" starts?
I'm going to be honest sentai, and most toku series, simply aren't for you. If you do want to watch them you will have to get over the notion of formulaic = bad and plot/"happening = good. Or else you won't enjoy very much.
Wait did you actually like ToQger? If so how come? That's pretty formulaic itself.
>I got to like episode 6 with Jetman, and 2 with Megaranger.
You only watched two episodes of Megaranger?!
This guy is a great design desu.
What the actual fuck. Their finisher is literally dropping all the mechs on top of the monster.
He didn't deserve this fate ;_;
>You forgot to mention you watched them with TVN subs.
Only the 1st 3 episodes. Sorry to disappoint, Dana Brooke desu.
I'm fine with formulaic characters. I enjoyed the pure. "Let's have fun with this attitude" and lighthearted comedy of it where the characters actually try the things I thought as a kid of "What would happen if red used blue's morpher?" and the fact that the rangers were actually
kidsthat came up with creative ways to fight the monsters. Like Tokatti punching "and then revives"where I don't see how they pull it off before hand.
Toqger is my favourite series and I am a major fan of Kobayashi's writting.
My problem isn't the formulaic-ness of the characters or monster of the week. I'm fine with a Righteous Red but I want a reason behind that righteousness. Right's was the fact that he was essentially the leader kid who came up with fun ideas, Hiromu was a blunt jack ass who was forced to come to terms with reality at a young age.
Also my problem with Jetman was with one of White Swans episode where she can't fly and Red says "You gotta try harder" and then everyone treated him like a Jackass the rest of the episode.
I started Megaranger because I heard it was videogame themed and that it was like Fourze in sentai form. How far should I go to really understand the characters?
>tfw you start lots of series at once and can't decide which one to watch
I'm trying to decide between Boukenger, Magiranger, Go-Onger, Goseiger, Dairanger and
Timeranger with subs in my native language. What do you guys think?
If you wanna watch anything modern there's Shinkenger to Ninninger. Anything before that is grubby with shitty audio which makes it feel 20 years older than it really is.
Not that they are bad shows, that's just a hurdle one has to be able to overcome to enjoy them.
>I am a major fan of Kobayashi's writting
Then watch the Gingaman and SHinkenger.
Though Gingaman feels more like a Takatera show than a Kobayashi show.
And honestly I'm a firm believer of the three episode rule. But in my case it's three episodes per cour. So I'll watch three episodes for a single cour show, 6 for two cour, etc. Since sentai is a year round show spanning four cours, that would be twelve episodes to try. But that's just me.
I think by episode 8 or so everyone gets a focus episode and you get a feel for who they are. Megaranger has its issues but it has some of the best characters and that won't come through in the first two episodes.
Not sure if anyone else noticed, but Flashman ep 5 is up.
>There's this one episode where they try to make the monster grow, but fuck up, and the monster just dies outright. No giant robot battle.
Okay, at least it'd be worth watching for just that alone. What happened to the translator in charge of that show, anyway? The rest of GUIS survived the ninjas (and Tom enjoys his 15 minutes of fame), but he's still MIA as far as I know.
That's still gonna be a bit hard to do, since there's no universal metric. For instance, a lot of people like Kyoryuger due to the cast, the fights, the music, but for some people that's overshadowed by the fact that the main character gets too much attention. So they'd rank the show differently.
Yeah the actual quality differences in sentai are minor at best. People seem to prefer the ones that keep consistent tones and rules, but even the "best" ones for that aren't actually all that consistent.
Also that yeah. From what I've seen at least, Sentai doesn't have any extreme lows like Kamen Rider with Super-1, Faiz or Kiva (If you like either of those shows, more power to you but they do not seem to have done well for most people).
At worst you get something like Gaoranger or ToQger that's just boring and uninteresting
I love 80's
Pretty much. Sentai is the most consistent Toei franchise by far, as long as a show hits all the basic story beats it's going to be at least okay. Rider was much more swingy in quality for a long time, W kind of settled down on a consistent formula for most shows that works well and helps keep the baseline quality up unless it's a real zero-effort production like Wizard. Sentai also has the benefit that you will almost always like at least one member of the team.
Well Ghost isn't done yet, but so far it sadly seems so. At least Wizard had some funny moments, some great slapstick. Ghost is still absolutely nothing in terms of characters and comedy. Every time Yurusen comes on screen I expect there to be something funny but other than explaining how to operate the toys she does nothing.
This is the second coming of Sun Vulcan's appliances episode. Does anyone have the webm of that handy?
I never thought anyone would actually be an even blander writer than Kida.
That kinda dress reminds me of the kind that Florentine prostitutes would wear in the 15th century. They were cut high in the front so that it was easy for a gentleman do, eh, do his business quickly.
>It looks like Fuuka's had a burger or two.
You could say that.
>tfw no Ninninger: 100 Years After
>we will never see the inbred abominations that are the next generation of the Igasaki clan.
I remember an Anon or two speculating that Takeuchi might be the suit for ZyuohEagle a while ago. When exactly will we know suit actors for sure? Will it be this weekend or not until the premiere?
She's been mentioning and taking pictures with Takeuchi, Asai, and Gomi a lot on Twitter, so I think we can call it a strong possibility. I guess that means Mizuho Nogawa is taking a break from being a ranger suit actor this year?
>every time Onari comes on isn't absolute gold that saves the show
no, it's sucks because it heavy focus only on Daigo. pretty much all positive things were because of Daigo. He defeated Deboth by himself, he helped all the others with their problems, and he has a power up to himself. none of the other characters get developed. Shitty ending.
"we are a team." later run off and fight by himself
The Kyoryuger aren't a team, they are Daigo's fanclub.
>Never went on Rangerboard before
>Type "Kyoryuger sexism" in search bar
>13 pages of serious discussion
Goddammit people, you're talking about a superhero show for little Japanese boys.
Also fuck white text on a pure black background.
IIRC, someone on rangerboard created a whole webpage with a giant list of reasons power rangers samurai was sexist. One of the reasons was literally "there are already 3 guys and 2 girls, but the sixth member is another guy"
I liked that episode for a different reason
Am I watching Kakuranger again?
Will this be a ride I can never get off?
bunny hat, who supplies a lot of the raws has not done so for timeranger because the DVDs were poorly encoded by toei
the only raws i've found are the DVD files themselves at http://asiandvdclub.org/
I don't think they exist, Bunnyhat would've done them but Timeranger's DVDs are notoriously shit and are a pain to clean up, which is why O0T does the show on a drip feed release.
our bad guys
I love it! Back to the triumphant feel I love.
not an expert in moon, but here goes:
Deathgalian is an evil army bent on destroying the galaxy. To that end, they spend their time torturing the inhabitants of various planets in a competition known as the "blood game". So far they have destroyed 99 planets and have chosen earth to be the 100th.
Kinda funny how the leftmost member wouldn't feel out of place in an N64 game. That said, the one in the middle seems like a discount Ra Deus, assuming that entire thing is his body.
The purple block guy reminds me of Polygon Man from Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale.
>Your face if they can get Kacho for an episode
BLACK JACKin Kamen Rider Showa vs Heisei
>Yasuda Dai Circus in Kamen Rider Drive
>Toshifumi Fujimoto in Ninninger movie
I think so. When I searched him up back when the actors were revealed I don't remember anything of note.
But he wasn't a villain, he was ToQ's extra ranger.
Don't correct me, that's exactly what happened
>child actors in all the movies
>glitter/grita, especially the noise she makes while walking and her dumbass crush on schwarz
>noir, nero & mork being completely useless at the end
>terrible mecha design
cutest sentai girl ever
>BURN BRIGHTER THAN THE SUN
I'm loving this OP the more I hear it
>dat shit taste
I've gotten on board with everything about Jyuohger so far. The blocks thing doesn't bother me anymore, the cast looks great, I'm excited about the writer and whatnot, the only thing left that still bugs me about it is that Sera or Sela or whatever's sharkwoman form looks almost exactly like one of those cookie cutter sexualized sharkgirl avatars people use on Second Life.
Sure why not, it's Noriko doing the voice
>Toei goes light on Sentai figuarts because they don't sell nearly as well as Rider figuarts
>We never get figuarts of cool villains or certain memorable characters
>We probably won't get figuarts of any of the Jyuohger's Zyuman forms
Maximum bullshit. I'm still salty they didn't even try making Deboss figuarts. They were the real stars of the show and arguably more popular. Even if they had been exclusives, I would have shelled out for them.
I think what they really need is a cheap, mass release line to showcase the monsters. Even MMPR is doing that.
Okay sure, I loved Kamen Rider Fourze and Kamen Rider OOO too
Gaoranger was great but having two members with the same weapon is awkward. Also they look like Mickey Mouse hands
Unless she can pull it off and throw it like Ultraman, I can only imagine it being awkward to use
CROSS CHANGER! RED HAWK! CHOUJIN SENTAI... JETMAN!
No chance of it happening, but it would be interesting if red was the son of these two.
White should also get cat ears. And a cat tail.
>Mentioning direct quotes from Jetman
>Not a reference to Jetman
ToQ Z best Toqger
YES YES. It's been a while since we had a female Big Bad. That's a 'she' right? How she had a gown and all in her design. Last time I checked, it was Grandienne from GoGoV isn't it?
>The Deathgaliens, the evil outlaw army from outer space that has destroyed countless planets throughout the universe. No matter how much pain they inflict on planets’ inhabitants, they continue to repeat their deadly “Blood Game”. Having recently destroyed their 99th planet, they’ve chosen the Earth as the playground for the 100th game.
>Azald is a Deathgalien leader; he favours inflicting physical pain. Cuval is a Deathgalien leader; he favours causing emotional/mental distress. Ginis, the Deathgalien boss, loves playing with the lives of others; he’ll award a prize to the winner of his “Blood Game”. Nalia is Ginis’s aide; she grants “Continue Medals” to Ginis’s “Players” after they’re defeated, which turns them into giants. The foot soldiers are Moeba and the first monster sent to Earth is Jakudo.
>Dat Zyuohger OP music
Was I ....Not supposed to catch the Holy Ghost listening to that? because I caught it..
Well its safe to say the crowd is going to go nuts during the Sentai Live concert version of Zyuohger OP
I can only imagine.
>All the people chanting with the Eagle! Shark! etc. bit going into lights and confetti when the chorus starts up
These are people who don't watch Sentai obviously. especially when he says "We usually don't see female rangers with the up close and personal weapons."
I could easily mention Mika fighting Fara, or Ahim, or Amy, or freaking Kagura with the strong Imagination.
>Cutie-pie Red who looks photogenic in every shots
>Awesome and fun-looking Yellow
>Slender and stern yet sisterly-looking Blue
>Serious cute Green
I think we're good to go. And that villains' design. Man, amazing detail.
The claws look kind of "eh", but the Shark and Elephant's stuff look great. Still waiting to get used to the suits though, they still feel like a local hero kind of thing more than a Sentai, but their helmets are cool.
So really, with all the shit we know and have heard about Zyuohger at this point, how can you not be at least a bit hype?
I hope Tusk's hulk feet have better CG then PinkFlash's boots if so.
>Yellow and White have the same weapons
>Blue has a useless fin
>Green is now the king of foot fetishism
No, if you watch another Sentai show at the same time as watching another, John Toei goes directly to your house and slaps you across the face and kicks you in the balls. Don't risk John Toei's wraith, anon. We don't want you to get hurt.
She is really cute, and I actually like the nose.
SkewedS is doing it, for what that's worth: http://tl-skeweds.(blog that isn't a Dalmatian spot).ca/
HaroRangers still has a couple of Vs. crossovers to do for Carranger before moving on to Hurri.
ToQger's villains had excellent designs. I really liked Noir.
