Oddly enough, I think you might be right.

All of the really devastating stuff that Unicorn does exploit newtype or minovsky based technologies build into the enemy suit. None of which is going to work on mecha from other franchises. You can't cause the e-caps in the enemies weapon to blow up if the enemy doesn't use e-caps, you can't funnel hack something that isn't a goddamn funnel, etc.

So, barring newtype shit that targets the mind of the enemy pilot directly, there isn't really anything that the Unicorn can do that makes it more of a threat than any other mobile suit that can carry beam weaponry.

Aside from plot armor, I can't think of a reason why a late generation valk wouldn't blow it out of the sky from beyond the range that Unicorn can fight back.

Turn A is not the only Gundam capable of ending human civilization. The fact that Domon was able to stop it doesn't really matter when comparing Turn A to Devil. If the plot of G Gundam revolved around Domon trying to stop the Turn A it would have been a MUCH shorter series. Devil's abilities far outstrip the Turn A's.

VSBRs cant penatrate I-Fields, pretty much nothing has ever been shown to defeat I-Fields by force alone. Beam Shields on the other hand are pretty easy to punch through, V2AB's main guns can even punch through a battleship class beam shield.

I like the horn. It's distinctive, and it's only ugly when it turns into a V-Fin (which is one of my main problems with Destroy Mode)

That's my other problem with Destroy Mode. It's colored stripes and an open helmet - it shouldn't be as busy and garish as it is. The awakened version isn't as bad because the lines aren't bright, glowing red, but it still seems like it has lines for the sake of lines.

What that's not true at all. Devil would evolve to absorb the nanites before the moonlight butterfly could fully destroy it. The only reason Domon could beat Devil Gundam was because Rain was the pilot.
