Literally the best animated mecha fights and design? All fucking targeted to children.
Why won't Sunrise create a series that has the story of IBO and the animation and design of Build Fighters. Literally the best fights out
>Why won't Sunrise create a series that has the story of IBO and the animation and design of Build Fighters.
I. Just. Ew.
If Build Fighters had a story like IBO, it would've ended with that final qualifying match where they fucked the Double X guy before the OP even started. Like, enjoyableness aside, IBO's plot acts as an impedance to action - or at least it has so far. Now, they could theoretically redeem the time we've spent on the non-actors of Tekkadan, but I doubt that it's going to happen.
>best animated mecha fights and design
And story. All of the truly great /m/ series have been targeted towards children. It's when they're made for manchildren that the quality goes down.
>that has the story of IBO and the animation and design of Build Fighters
How about a new anime that has the story of Build Fighters with the animation and design of Build Fighters?
>cookie cutter tournament
As opposed to what? A tournament where they just bullshit out new rules all the time just to give the MC a hard time? They can't all be the Dark Tournament in YYH.
>story of IBO
>best animated mecha fights and design?
>posts transient gundam
Does not compute
>They can't all be the Dark Tournament in YYH.
Sounds more like early Yugioh before the card game had official rules.
>I'm pretty sure real-life competitions aren't supposed to have plots
Then why do the olympics never shut the fuck up about "oh this competitor grew up from a poor family and had to be driven 30 miles every day to practice at 5 am and I DON'T CARE"
Tournaments, even the really kiddy toyetic generic ones, generally always have some kind of subplot going on in the background. Even if the entire show is nothing but tournaments like, say, Inazmua Eleven, there's a subplot in the back that keeps motivations going.
Try was just literally one set of battles after another with nothing to hold on to. Also shitty characters.
In the same episode as that, the flying castle itself has the effect of hiding the villain's monsters in darkness, so Yugi can only attack the darkness and get his monsters killed by cards he can't see. How exactly is that supposed to work without holographic technology? 'You're attacking my monster. Sorry, it has higher attack points than yours. No, I can't prove it, that would defeat the whole purpose of the shrouding darkness. Just take my word for it, will you?'
>on a fucking screen cap
Jesus Christ this is retarded. Every time i see that watermark on pictures i get mad.
Konami even made it a card later
This. The TV channels will do whatever they can to fabricate a story because they know that is what audiences care about. After all, if you already know your country is going to win then it is boring to just watch it for competitions sake. Anyone who suggest otherwise is not old enough to remember Kelly Strug.
>yfw her dumb stunt was entirely pointless
>her dumb coach counted wrong and they had already won
>still became an instant celebrity anyways despite not even being the highest scoring performer on the team
To be fair, tournament based ones aren't that bad, and then there's the ones that went off into crazy stories.
You got stuff like Yu-Gi-Oh that all started with card games and then suddenly serious plots involving said card game.
>Why won't Sunrise create a series that has the story of IBO and the animation and design of Build Fighters. Literally the best fights out
With the story of IBO the show wouldn't even have any fights.
Will Big Match Sekai suffice anon?
>comparing Sekai to one of the greatest wrestlers of our time
>the story of IBO
Here's Mars, there's earth, now see a bunch of uninteresting characters flapping their mouths about how great NBR family is.
>the animation and design of Build Fighters
Had a few nice fights in the first half and slideshows for everything else.
