Sure, why not? It's good timing on your part, since Silver Castle Subs recently put up their latest episode releases.
That said, it's funny to think that they might finish Goldran before Sasword probably will.
>these guys putting out like 4 eps of exkaiser a week
Respect to the subbers. Glad to see people showing love to the braves.
When I grow up, I wanna be a Soccer Detective.
Not really 4, but it's still a good rate.
With any luck, Chirlind might be able to rest easy afterwards.
Granted, there's still that Game Boy Color Brave Saga game needing scripts, but still.
It's technically braves, but jesus. I saved these all back in 07. Damn, it's been that long.
About out I think, unless Dendoh falls under the Braves archetype, all things considered.
No wait, found a couple more in my general folder.
Considering how Obari is hanging out with Sunrise more often I wouldn't be surprised if the madman make it
I am all caught up on Goldran subs and I don't know if it's retarded, brilliant or both.
>Second villain is called Serious, tries to murder the whole cast, has an Eltreum/Brunhild parody ship
>Sharanla and Colonel become based as hell to fight him
>Walter's OBARI AS FUCK mech which gets immediately wrecked
>a galaxy express 999 parody
>Assuming Shrimpy still intends to sub Dagwon
Considering in the last episode he posted he was calling the characters assholes - which is coincidentally why that autist hates literally everything that isn't GaoGaiGar - I'd say he's probably done.
The Japanese transformer productions are basically Brave shows as well. I'm not only referring to CarRobots and the Unicorn Trilogy, but also Masterforce and Victory.
From Takara's perspective, Brave was supposed to replace the dying Transformers franchise in the early 90s. When Braves died down in the late 90s, they brought back Transformers to replace Braves.
I think Braves did the human aspect better though. Kids in Transformers are just...annoying.
I don't know if I should recommend them to you. They aren't bad but they are equivalent to the mediocre Brave shows at best.
I guess they are good if you need some MotW show to fill up your playlist.
I think about a month after the last episode he mentioned once on his Twitter that he intends to continue it. But that was almost 3 months ago, and no other signs that this project is still alive (last time I checked CS's Twitter he was deep into Undertale, though it was some time ago), so I pretty much lost hope too.
Though DESU I didn't particularly liked the idea to sub Dagwon from the first episode, instead of just start from the point where the previous group dropped off - I think that's one of the main reasons why 2/3 of Dendoh is still crabstick only: half of the time someone picks it up, they start from the first episode which was already subbed by several different groups, then drop off before they manage to get to the part that actually needs subs. We need someone who will just do the Dagwon episodes that don't have subs yet (and the OVA for completion's sake).
Well, think of it this way - if Silver Castle gets to them, they'll do the OVA for sure, since they did Iron Leaguer's.
You know, come to think of it, there's a lot of shit in the early-mid 90s for them to sub. A lot in the really late 80s too. Even if that area's their comfort zone, there's a lot they could get done. The Braves, Liger, Getter Robo Go, Tetsujin 28 FX, Wataru, the Ryu Knight OVAs...
all that dust in the background
Battle Spirits, if only because some of the cards have mechs and the various shows are not set in one single continuity. If not, there's Gyrozetter, which Starseeker and friends finished recently.
On that note, they might tackle the straggler fantasy series (Hepoi, Lamune), the other two Eldoran shows, the first Hikarian, those Bomberman B-Daman things, and perhaps even Red Baron.
>Ryu Knight OVAs
You do know those got subs, right? Besides, Kaixe Rho might redo them anyways.
>A lot in the really late 80s too.
Assuming that Luurah doesn't beat them to the punch somehow.
It's a Brave Series under Takamatsu's tenure, so you can feel when he and the staff are tired of putting up with Takara's nonsense. Granted, one of the writers, Shinichi Watanabe doesn't take anything seriously in the first place (especially when you get to 33, oh boy).
Apparently, yes. No idea where those are supposed to be, though.
Oh, and I forgot to mention Twinbee Paradise, Musashi Lord and the remaining SD Gundam featurettes. Not sure how possible Hissatsuman is.
I figure here's as good a place to ask as any but does anyone know if there's somewhere I could grab the OSTs to Brave Saga and Brave Saga 2?
>You do know those got subs, right?
They did? Shit, I thought they still were unsubbed.
>Assuming that Luurah doesn't beat them to the punch somehow.
Luurah's more 70s and early 80s, though, that's out of his time period.
>Not a single toy company is willing to make Brave toys
>Even Bandai will only produce GGG figures
>So many 3rd party TF makers that all grew up through the Brave age
>Closest thing we'll ever get is one really terrible Captain Shark
I would gladly punch a baby to be able to get a properly engineered and modernly designed Might Gaine or J-Decker.
I don't need an abortion on my shelf.
There is Might Gaine set coming in May, only it's D-Style one. From what was shown, all three mechs that form it can transform and combine just fine.
I can live with that. At last, a Brave that isn't GGG or Exkaiser gets some love in that line.
>Luurah's more 70s and early 80s, though, that's out of his time period.
Oh, okay then. Gotta admit that the summary on his website led me into assuming otherwise, since it's not overly specific.
>Luurah is a small fansub group which mainly focuses on subbing mecha shows from 1970-80s.
https://msubsreleases.(word in the press).com/2016/01/22/goldran-24/
Looks like Sasword did his stealth routine and put out another episode.
Did he get held hostage by the subninjas for so long that he turned into a good subninja?
Yeah, that was one of my favorite episodes, mainly due to this bit.
That makes me wonder, what has our favorite autist been up to lately?
Some Brave tunes.
I'm torn, because I think Might Gaine is a pretty cool looking robot, but he doesn't have much going on personality wise. But while he and his weapons are cool, Battle Bomber and Guard Diver are ugly AND boring. I kind of don't like that there isn't a plot until the ending, but at least one gets together.
But with J-Decker, I think he and his design are kind of boring, but he still has more personality than Gaine. I fucking love J-Decker's supporting cast though. I really love the theme of Super AI. I just kind of wish that the story had more of a crime syndicate thing going on.
Oh well, Da Garn is probably my favorite so far.
>I think he and his design are kind of boring
Cuz he looks the most like a Gundam, right?
Is it just me or does Samejima seem like he's annoyed by Mario?
It's funny that of all the entries Takamatsu directly directed, Goldran, the most comedic of all, is the one trying to get a running plot in the second half. The guy had a hard time working around Takara's limitations, that much is evident.
I like Gaine's episodic format with the multiple villains though. Especially the stories from the middle and late 10s sometimes are really good. Some of them were really surprising to me in a Brave show, like
the little clone kid being killed. And, yes, it also ties together a plot for the final arc.
caught up with goldran's subs and
is the planet in episode 32 mamoru of GGG's home planet/the inspiration for it? i mean it's called the green planet and features fairy people so i dunno
1) Brave Police: character development. Not just from the Braves, but all the characters.
2) GaoGaiGar: because it's epic and I love how tense it is all the way through (also the Braves are under-appreciated)
3) Goldran: so far, even though I haven't finished it, because it's funny and cute.
4) Dagwon: even though I've seen so little, because it's so aesthetic to me. Also, GR10 SOUNDTRACK.
5) Exkaiser: I've seen almost none of it. But the Raker twins are adorable.
6) Might Gaine: I think the mechs are pretty? But I've only seen two episodes.
7) Dagarn: Seriously, fuck Seiji.
Yes, but that is the proto-Brave, so the IP didn't exist yet. While we're at it, we should count Masterforce as well, since it's Dagwon 0.5.
That said, does Beast Wars II/Neo fit into this at all? Closest thing to a human kid the show is that rabbit TF girl.
GGG is no exception here, Mamoru wears similar jacket too. If anything, it's Yuuta who stands out bc the jacket is different.
What's more interesting for me, in all cases (except Yuuta as mentioned above) it's some variation of a red jacket that's suspiciously similar to the one worn by protagonist of Pokemon first generation games. Pokemon Red/Green were in development when Braves aired (I think the games were released when Dagwon was airing). So, it looks like someone in Game Freak is a Brave fan?
>GGG BD torrent
>added 2 weeks ago
>still only 90%
man the seeding on this is shit.
Nah. For the brave series and many other Sunrise works, the rights are with Sunrise. Takara only had an exclusive merchandising license for X years by funding the show.
Banpresto used to to avoid works sponsored by Bandai's rivals out of courtesy but Terada "tested" the system with Jeeg and GGG, both Takara-sponsored shows.
It's probably just a case of popularity. A more recent and extreme example is TTGL. It was sponsored by Konami (they made toys back then). Rumor is that TTGL's producer called Terada up once Konami's exclusive license expired.
You're right, my bad. I'd put it right under Exkaiser at number 6 and push the other two down. Just because I've only seen one episode of Fightbird and it didn't really capture my mood at the time, but I do enjoy the idea. I really need to catch up on the series that are actually subbed, but I'm so interested in the ones that aren't yet....
Zoids is the interesting one. While Sunrise had the rights to Brave, Eldoran and the rest of the examples mentioned, Zoids is (still) TOMY's IP. I guess they don't really give a shit about licensing their old rivalries anymore.
>Blue Raker's was Sonic the Hedgehog in the OVA
Perfect. Did the OVA ever got a proper release that isn't ADV's movie cut? I wonder how it originally looked without that.
Seems that way. Hopefully there will be a chance to include the Braves just in time for both the SRW and Brave anniversaries.
As for the Sonic OVA, I don't think it was even released on DVD in Japan. I once tried to find the original Japanese cut in the net, but without success (though maybe I didn't searched deep enough?). Anyway, as for the physical release, finding the original Japanese VHS (or whatever format it was originally released) seems the only way.
>finding the original Japanese VHS (or whatever format it was originally released) seems the only way.
At this stage, only Orphan Fansubs could take on it, so here's to hoping that's on their plate later on.
On the subject of fun facts, Lian in Dagwon is voiced by none other than Yutaka Hirose of Super Sentai fame (under a pseudonym).
Okay, searched YouTube a bit and it looks like the original cut was there for several years. No subs, but enjoy anyway:
For any given Transformers series, there's a good enough reason to not use them. No grunts, heroes don't have many usable attacks, way to fucking many heroes and important named characters, hard to insert the plot, etc. etc.
Fighbird is good when its Katori being a doofus/Science shenanigans but the robot fighting is not the best and the bad guys are about as retarded as the dinosaurs from Exkaiser or even Walter from Goldran with some of their plans (BABIES)
Sure is taking a while to do so for the rest of the Braves, given that it didn't have any animated projects since at least 2005. Hell, Exkaiser alone would be perfect for using mass-produced enemies, thanks to Energy Box/Bug shenanigans.
Funny thing about that one is that the character designer is the same as Teyandee's.
It's a bummer that Fighbird was such a repetitive gattai-spam fest, cause this motherfucker was hilarious at times.
Well, I guess I'm not gonna play this game now.
>Funny thing about that one is that the character designer is the same as Teyandee's.
It seems like he's done a decent amount of stuff over the years, but none of it really got as much exposure as Teyandee. Going by what he draws and says on his blog Teyandee seems to be one of his favorites, anyway. I'm pretty sure I read a comment on his old guestbook saying that he wasn't that fond of Eto Ranger, but I don't know much about his thoughts on other things he's done. Like the aforementioned Idol Project, or Jaja Uma Quartet/Wild Cardz.
Though he's easily the most immature and naughty of Brave kids (at least of the shows I've seen), he's basically a human version of Blinky Bill at times. For some people it's refreshing, but I can understand that some people might dislike him. That, and the show focuses on him instead of the robots even more than in Exkaiser or Fighbird.
I always saw Yatabe as a guy who cared more about humans than robots. More balanced focus didn't get established until J-Decker, by the time Takamatsu succeeded him.
That said, KouAidou (who translated the scripts) did genuinely love Seiji as a character, according to her now-inactive blog.
No. They are all separate series. However...
Some fans think that the first 3 works take place in the universe, just at different times and technological progress
Also, the space police in Fighbird seems to be the same organization from Exkaiser.
These 3 shows are termed the "Katsuyoshi Trilogy" after their director, Katsuyoshi Yatabe. He later went on to direct another trilogy of OVAs about young boys doing young-boy-things.
ack, sorry, here's the full version
Fuck, the lyrics to these children's songs make me cry
>Hey, if I am alone I can't be that strong
>However, if you are to lend me your strength right now, together...
>We can fly!
>This planet is our precious ark
>Stand strong, facing the future's endless light!
what the fuck fighbird
Also Goldran is gloriously retarded now they are in space
Plus, Seiji is the role that lets MatsuRica show what she is really capable of, more than the entirety of Pokemon.
On the topic of Da Garn, anyone else noticed that the jewel allowing to control the Braves is named similarly to the amulet from "The Neverending Story"?
On my end, I realised that the entire show is a nod to Changeman, right down to spandex outfits.
Just wait until Silver Castle and Sasword get to the episode that takes "kissing is lewd" to its natural conclusion.
Speaking of him, I remember that he also directed a Goemon anime (which, incidentally, has Katori's VA Matsumoto doing the man himself as always). His usual quirks are there (focus on kids, episodic battles, largely faceless villain leader).
I'm so glad I have a source for this screencap now.
just google "animetitle" bakabt and it should be the first link you see
1. Da Garn - Plot and theme. Favorite brave OST. First brave anime/toy from childhood. 9/10 Great
2. J-Decker - Yuuta is the miracle of the universe HNNNNGGG 9/10 Great
3. Might Gaine - Best Gattai moments. Hikaru Midorikawa aka Heero Yuy. RETSU MAITO GAAIN! 8/10 Very Good
4. Fighbird - Love all the characters. The overkill use of stock gattai animation never got old I loved every second of it. Another childhood show 8/10 Very Good
5. Dagwon - Best looking artstyle and animation-wise. Great voice actors e.g. Takehito Koyasu and Kappei Yamaguchi. Power Dagwon's Goriki Gattai. 8/10 Very Good
6. Goldran - hilariously childish and wtf moments. Ougon-Juu Gattai! Gureeto Gorudoran! Never forget Papa Goldran. 7/10 Good
7. Exkaiser - OG brave show. Cho Kyodai Gattai Gureeto Ekusukaizaa!. 6-7/10 Fine-Good
Started watching in production order last year. Have yet to watch GGG cus waiting patiently for a nice blu-ray encode to fully it experience in all its glory.
Entire Brave OST in one torrent. I am seeding everyday.
I hope that Chirlind can get to doing Dagwon before Silver Castle does. Not that I mind the latter's contributions, but the way you have to obtain their sub files is more obtuse than it needs to be (go on their YT account videos to find the links in the summaries) and could get lost if their vids get taken down.
Okay, Brave thread you, yes you, are picked to write the next brave show. What is it called? What is it about? What kind of characters are there? How do you market it to the current generation?
Brave Worker Trabagan
It is about field and mining equipment robots (no drillbots though)
Characters based off of obvious things
Smartphones everywhere. Mobage games where you play as characters using smartphones
would you watch a gaogaigar sequel with the main cast all grown up?
I remember that Goemon anime. I didn't much care for it since I always thought the concept of video games crossing over into the real world was extremely lame, even before I played a few of the games and found out there was plenty of material there without having to resort to that shit.
>blatantly obvious the only reason people like any of the series at all is due to being sick minded pedophiles
>must be bait
Just because you're sick doesn't mean you have to be autistic too.
the more i find of these the more i can feel shrimpy getting triggered somewhere at the idea of them
Well, looks like Silver Castle have made it to the dad episode.
Hnng. Shame you can't see her front clearly, let alone her legs.
while we're on the subject of booty, I've got just the thing
Dunno who's the chick but she seems familiar for some reason
grown up Alouette maybe? she was in the ggg manga and briefly in FINAL iirc
this episode is glorious
Hoyl shit, Gai looks manly as hell.
All this talk over grown-up GGG designs is a happy coincidence, because this just happened.
You can thank Shinichi Watanabe, he's the one behind this silliness in this ep.
Today is the 25th Anniversary of Fighbird
imo weakest brave show compared to others. here are some negatives.
- most stock animation used, more than fighbird. copy and pasted stock animation from the OP in the final fight. (honestly i didnt mind it. im a guy who loved every second of fighbird's stock animation recycling.)
- literally monster of the weak every episode. it has nothing special going on.
- Weakest ending.
- is the most geared towards a really young age demographic.
- not really memorable characters compared to all the other series
imo the weakest brave title in the series. after all it was the first title and they did better with the future titles using what they learned from it.
All that is fair, since it's the Goranger of the series: the one that started it all, but is pretty basic and aged relatively poorly compared to its successors.
With any luck, either Chirlind or Silver Castle will get to it eventually.
It was made after the decline of Transformers in Japan, a lot of Brave designs are based reused Transformers molds and unused concept designs
I Honestly thought they were going to do something for the 25th Anniversary, but apparently rebooting Diaclone is more profitable.
Keep in mind that Dagwon is not really indicative of the rest of the Brave Series, each series has it's own themes but both Dagwon and GaoGaiGar tweak the formula a bit (in GaoGaiGar's case, it deviates a lot from the standard).
But as a tokufag you'll feel more like home with Dagwon, the reason, well it's quite self-evident...
The best that could be done is allow Banpresto/BB Studio and/or Bamco to use other Brave series for once, for their 25th anniversary on SRW. One can expect that much, at least.
He has the same colors as Maito, though.
Adding to that, it should be noted only 18 episodes are done so far, but Chirlind is almost pretty much done with Goldran-related stuff, so who knows if she'll move on to Dagwon?
>Adding to that, it should be noted only 18 episodes are done so far, but Chirlind is almost pretty much done with Goldran-related stuff, so who knows if she'll move on to Dagwon?
Or if SilverCastle gets to it, since they seem to be truckin right through the other Brave series that haven't been subbed yet.
God I love J-Decker. Everything about that show was strong imo
I've been watching Exkaiser on YT and have been enjoying the hell out of it. I want to watch J Decker next but for what ever reason the subs get cut off at the bottom of the screen when I try watching via game console
Apparently nobody cares for obscured Brave characters
Photogrizer predates both GaoGaiGar and BaanGaan, but both series took elements from Photogrizer
I remember reading somewhere that Exkaiser is from the same police taskforce as Big Father and apparently Fighbird is a kohai in said organization (since he apparently stated in the game that he looks up to Exkaiser).
As for Dagwon it seems to be a different taskforce inspired on Exkaiser's
Gaogaigar, Fighbird, Da Garn, and J-Decker are fully subbed, as is Gaogaigar Final and Gaogaigar Final: GGG. Might Gaine is half subbed and half crabstick. Dagwon is something like 2/5 subbed. Exkaiser and Goldran are around half each, thanks to Silver Castle.
That is in absolutely no way 90% not subbed. It's a lot closer to 90% subbed. The only thing with no subs is Dagwon's OVA, and if Silver Castle winds its way around to that, they'll do it.
Some old Transformers concepts that ended up becoming Exkaiser
Oh Shit Thanks! This popped up on the main page as soon as I got on
Actually I'm streaming on console so I can watch on TV. I was just checking it out. Still probably doesn't make me any less of a fag.
Simple, really. You just need to know that the man hails from the Kanada school of animation.
Sally was my fisrt anime crush, or waifu has we say now. didn't know het name back the nether really know Mightaine.
I saw her in Animage magazine and a lot of illustration were like this, showing lace under he skirt or her cloth a little bit torn showing bits of lingerie.
And she was so cute with her ribbon.
The Sonic X season 3 Chinese release, that was the only source of Japanese audio of these episodes for several years, was VCD as well. And I don't know how bootleg-makers could get a version of audio that wasn't available to the public back then (unless they had very good connections to the local distributor and/or dubbing studio), so these had to be legit too.
As far as I know this is just a fan concept from someone in pixiv
I know that feel, but >>13864367 >>13864369 and >>13860824 look like pretty interesting concepts for a Great GaoGaiGar IMHO
