When will they ever figure out how to mount the Graviton Rifle directly on the machine? On vanilla Beins sure, it's a big gun and they're supposed to be nimble, but that's the Gunner. The thing's like half X-Wing, there's a ton of room.
>No gameplay footage of Ryoto in EXbein Boxer
You had ONE JOB bamco!
Get ready for the clusterfuckiest of clusterfuck upgrades
They made a Machine Robo thing that allows you to make whatever robots you want to, like they're Legos or something.
In practice, it means things like this happen.
He is the being that all mecha was born from, cast in His image.
Why couldn't either of the anime have looked like the video sequences in this trailer with you know 2D and what not? Who did the animation for that anyway? Assuming Sunrise, Bones or I.G since they seem to be the only ones that stick to 2D for mecha.
>Why couldn't either of the anime have looked like the video sequences in this trailer with you know 2D and what not?
You're fucking with me, right?
It's "save me from the dark"
I know people rarely use the song in the meme far enough to get to that lyric, but all it takes is a googling
Has anyone stated whether or not the Exbeins can be used outside of the Boxer / Gunner frames? It kind of seems like they'd start off without them (for whatever reason), then get them as upgrades later on.
Got Famitsu. SR points now do not affect the story at all; New "beginner's mode" added which locks difficulty to normal and gives you money
in addition to the PP for getting SR points. Also makes it easier to obtain parts and money in general. No word on if points affect secrets.
Terada makes it clear that this is a real sequel, not a spinoff like Masoukishin F and Dark Prison. This is only the first part of their-
-25th anniversary plans. There's more coming. Title isn't numbered because they're afraid sticking a 3 on will scare casuals away.
Touya is the main character of the game and since the story follows him it'll be easy for new players to jump in. Calvina confirmed.
GCSoul Gunner confirmed to NOT be in the game. GC enemies using new stuff.
Soul Saber's form chosen during intermission, pilot determined by form. Akemi is the older sister.
First route split is Touya and Calvina; Touya route is for new players, Calvina route is for people who want the old characters.
Plot focuses on younger characters this time.
Oh wait, interview confirms that requirements for getting units are NOT changed by beginner's mode.
Beginner's mode also changes a bit of the story at the beginning and forces you onto the Touya route.
It was always good looking but the new sprite really helps it shine
>First route split is Touya and Calvina; Touya route is for new players, Calvina route is for people who want the old characters.
Wait, what does Touya's route have, then? Just Granteed and Soul Saber? That seems like a really low headcount.
>The gacha rates, the gacha prices, the drop rates, and the EXP gain rates are all fucking bullshit
>fuck this game
Perfect FGO summary right there.
you mistyped Excellen
That isn't exactly hard. Let's use Fairlion just because
>same backgrounds used
>same usage of moving the camera to create the feeling that it's more dynamic than it is as well as a sense of pseudo-3D, which was 2nd OGs' big thing
>same sprite artist from 2nd OGs which models the units so that the camera can rotate around it
>same long as fuck animations
I am confused beyond words as to what you mean
>Title isn't numbered because they're afraid sticking a 3 on will scare casuals away.
What does that even mean? That people won't start with this game because it's the third one? Well yeah no shit.
>character from a game with multiple mechs
>locked into one
I heard if you use preset fleets you can make Akashi preset, play normally and then in 20 mins you swap back to Akashi preset and repair one tick of damage on the preset fleet. Anyone tried this?
I have not played either, so I cannot confirm nor deny it. All I can say is, um, maybe?
Yeah. Well, aside from XO being better since it's a remake on a next-gen console with extra stuff in it.
Wasn't very successful, though, because Japan doesn't exactly love Microsoft consoles.
>no Calvina in PV
I know she's in, but I was really hoping to see her and hear a glorious remix of Revenger. Soon, I suppose.
I'm quite pleased to see that they've (presumably) given Calvina Festenia.
Exbein Gunner has 4 Graviton cannons, still has to call one more to use.
Nope. Calvina's plot is separate frim the girls. They were all given to Touya, since there is no real reason to give any of the girls to Calvina since the Touya harem ending is probably still in.
RIP AND TEAR can't give you much popularity from people other than the ones that want to see shit blow up
And Touya has a fucking harem
Also the fact his daddy was one of the knights gives a good level of depth to the whole story
>Being an ace pilot is no longer cool?
In OG? It's like saying "I killed a fly once", most of the cast are pros at what they do and you can't find many people better than them, Calvina doesn't add much to the table and the only way she's tied to the story is because she got screwed over by Al-Van and now has murderboner for him
I want to see best girl with her REVENGER
also i hope the white lynx can get the coustwell for ATATATTATATAATA!!
I actually wouldn't mind if Calvina gets no subpilots, because that just amps up her ace pilot status. I doubt that they'll shake things up that drastically, though.
Is it confirmed that only Katia and Melua crash into the school?
With Poe's law, I can't tell who the trolls are and who the idiots are.
Do people seriously think Calvina isn't going to talk to any of the other introduced characters, just since her route is said to have the older characters in it?
>Do people seriously think Calvina isn't going to talk to any of the other introduced characters, just since her route is said to have the older characters in it?
No, but the powerpuffs are not going to be her subpilots.
Guys please, if anything the hint as to what they do is within Granteed being locked to Touya, the rape train is as Super Robot as you can get, and as all mecha tropes dictate, Supers piloted by young males need a subpilot cute girl, it could be that they retconned it so ONLY Granteed needs a sub and the other two are single-pilot machines, making them accesible to Calvina alone(or Touya but without a sub)
Let's run this down, anon.
We know Katia and Melua steal the Granteed and run into Touya.
So, given that Bellzelute is also a prototype mech stolen by the Powerpuffs, how do you think it will get to Calvina, and how do you think Festenia will link up with the group?
Burden of proof is on you though, unless you have a better course, I'm looking at the 4 Moon Dwellers related news on siliconera, only one mentions Tenia
>The development staff put in a lot of work for the battle scenes and special moves, that are said to be quite something this time around. Especially with Touya on Ganteed with Katia or Melua as the sub-pilots, along with another girl named Tenia (Festenia Muse,) it’s safe to assume that this could be the most voluminous of the entire series.
The Powerpuffs escaped with your chosen mech, barely able to get it to move without an actual pilot attuned to them, and crash into a school (Touya's story) or run into the Nadesico (Calvina's story)
We know in OG that Melua and Katia crash into Touya's school, and that Calvina is present and will be getting a mech, so use your fucking brain for a minute you goddamn shitposter. How exactly will that mech be getting to Calvina? Someone has to be bringing it to her, and Katia and Melua are already with Touya, I wonder who it could possibly be.
The fuck if I know, it's not like OG never altered the original story, for all we know the first time Calvina encounters the Fury you can have Beelzelute being piloted by a random enemy mook and she steals the thing from him after being shoot down or something, and Tenia ran away with Coustwell somewhere and you get them later, calm the hell down, all we can do now is speculate anywya
I'm of the opinion, like some other anons, that Touya and Calvina can trade powerpuffs freely once they link up. Makes sense to give Touya 2 of the 3 for the first route split since he's the one with the harem, the earlier they can build the relationships the better.
And it's stupid to assume changes like that based on what we already know about where the Powerpuffs are and that they're playing Touya's intro completely straight, minus Tenia, who obviously has to show up somewhere.
There's a difference between speculation and trying to force your retarded fanfiction as fact.
Also this >>13779071
>for all we know the first time Calvina encounters the Fury you can have Beelzelute being piloted by a random enemy mook and she steals the thing from him after being shoot down or something
I wouldn't mind the completely changing up Bell. Drop the whole Fury plot with it and give it to Calvina as an ace custom. Make it a failed unit that Ashari was making and decided to give her as a gift. I just want another unit I can shuffle.
Nah, The powerpuffs will escape by using a cargo ship this time around, then they get attacked so Katia and Melua try to fight them using the Granteed, then they get separated, Granteed crashes into Josh HS and Tenia goes to Calvina with the cargo ship and the two reals. Not that hard.
>Coustwell will sadly probably be cut
>How exactly will that mech be getting to Calvina?
Put her backstory into the main story. Have her steal a mech during the Fury raid and then have her skill get noticed and assigned to the old characters team.
It's also a feline.
>Implying she wouldn't start with pic related
>CALVINA WILL NOT BE IN A FUCKING GRUNT SUIT.
If you're referring to the Vorlent, you're forgetting that it's not a grunt suit even for the Fury, it's reserved for low-level knights, but they're still in the higher ranks to begin with.
And in terms of earth tech it's still way more advanced than say the Alt.
They already set her up thanks to the MX people, in fact. I mean: MX team proved that the whole TFF aren't just a bunch of useless mooks with their thumbs up their asses, and that there are in fact more special ops teams doing their thing piloting grunt mechs while the special snowflakes in the Hagane and the Hiryu hog all the glory for themselves.
It's not even good. They state multiple times that the Alt is a fucking terrible machine from a technical standpoint and Kyosuke is literally the only one crazy enough to pilot it because of his insane luck.
>RIP AND TEAR
Because pilots with anger issues and generally shooty mechs have never existed before
And it's not like they've never retroactively inserted characters into the stories of previous games. Like OG2 mentioning Soulgain running around during the L-5 Campaign while Axel was waiting the six months for the rest of Shadow Mirror to show up.
She won't even have that personality for a good ways into the game, is calm consistently outside of fights against Al-Van, and mellows out again by the end. It fits her just fine.
I don't even import or pirate this shit without any translations for the seishuns at the very least but fuck this
no, I did get there
he starts getting better around stage 15 or so, that baaaw scene in the snow after those brain powered fucks and then the girls start dripping waterfalls and the end for him and his MOTHERFUCKING MOON KNIGHT MODE
No, Brigandier has a literal gendum head, v-fin and dual eyes and all. It's extra jarring considering plain Bellzelute's head might as well be a Genoace's.
If it does make it in there's no way its head isn't getting changed out.
most people on /m/ seem to have never played J period. They regurgitate the same tired points against J and stop thinking just because "FUCK SEED IS IN IT'S A SHIT GAME" or some other nonsense
oh that too was kinda boring
all of them appearing on the other fucking side of the massive maps just for every single one of them to suicide against granteed or nadesico
I've never played J because nothing about it interests me. I could care less about originals in any game, admittedly, but the more important factor of the cast list didn't interest me.
>You ever stop to think so many people have the same complaints about it because it's true?
Pic related. I agree with the complaints about J, but that's a faulty way to argue it.
People regurgitated 'Zeta is the best gendum EVER' for years before it ever came over to murrika, since a bunch of retarded neckbeards told them so. It's much easier to spit out someone else's opinion than it is to actually form one of your own.
That being said, J's actual stages were still an unnecessary slog.
Gameplay-wise, basically all complaints about J are valid because damn that was a fucked game.
Plotwise, the only thing people ever seem to get right is how poorly crossover elements are handled. You see people complaining about Toya not wanting to pilot a robot when a) he gets over that pretty fucking fast and b) his actual problem is that his plot goes nowhere, much like the rest of J's OG plot. What was up with those dreams of the Fury princess? What happened to his mom? Why didn't his uncle, who knew about his heritage, show up earlier? What did the Fury even want with the Powerpuff girls? Why does nobody seem to care that Toya is getting literally brainwashed into becoming a Fury soldier? And why the actual fuck did the developers hate Katia so much?
Meanwhile barely anyone talks about Calvina beyond "oh she's cool I guess".
Well from what I remember I think I can answer a few of them.
>Why didn't his Uncle, who knew about his heritage, show up earlier?
Wasn't the Uncle dead and the only way he talked through him was through whatever unit you chose? Or was that his dad?
>What did the Fury even want with the Powerpuff girls?
Wasn't it for like energy or test units or something?
>Why does Nobody seem to care that Toya is getting literally brainwashed into becoming a Fury soldier?
Because it was so close to over and once he got out of the Unit the brainwashing stopped.
>Why the actual fuck did the devs hate Katia so much?
Teina is the best
>Why does nobody seem to care that Toya is getting literally brainwashed into becoming a Fury soldier?
Probably for the same reason the audience doesn't: because it's fucking awesome. Besides, in OG he's just joining the club.
You what? Alpha 3 has some nice animations sure but OGs, OGG, and Z1 have way better choreography and better use of cut-ins, and 2ndOG and DP look fantastic.
Say what you will about the story for SRWJ, the SEED Stages were among the most fun for me to play. In most cases, all of the units you needed to fight were right there, and no bullshit gimmicks either. The longest stage is what, the second wave of the Orb invasion?
It also helps that they aren't forcing you to 60000 HP Grunts all of the time, like with the FMP/Zeorymer stages or these endless Beargelgoogs with 15000 HP all the time.
Alpha 3 had a lot going for it on all of its depts.
Alpha 2 was tremendouslly succesfull by bringing back the continuity after several years, Alpha 3 was the same reaction. brought back everything GOOD about SRWFF and none of the bad. Carried every single bit of late game excitement as it could.
But at the end it was all nostalgia.
Just let me point you to one moment in time. When Banpreios was announced. Everyone was asking what the fuck happened with the SRX team and suddenly BAM! new SRX, edgier and even more katoki-ish than ever! what could go wrong? nothing did IMHO.
but that was all a recalling. A recalling to games past with just a dash of polish to make it clean.
2nd OG was a serious improvement over OGs. it reused SOME of the movement patterns but every bit was better. Choreography at its best as pointed out by >>13780191 my only gripe issat' Hugo should've screamed EXPLOTION! with more motion.
Z1 was brand new, clean, brought everything good out of Alpha Gaiden and improved on it. Gave us the best rendition of Grendizer to date. Made every old series look great and every new series look cool.
Z2 onwards decided to not only reuse assets in the worst way possible but make every new attack rendition worse with each game. Also, Z series can't do build up at all. Every game tried to be a final game on its final stages, making the final battle on Z3.2 completly soul-less. The Edel Bernal in Z1 was the better villain solely on the grounds of its madness and the fact that he indeed pulled every string "for shits and giggles".
Alpha 3 is still my favourite SRW to date, but solely on nostalgia factor, and I cannot but see how Terada is pulling better and better OG games with time. I wish I could say the same about mainstream titles.
>prefers fighting MS
>has trouble with grunts with high HP
You're pleb who couldn't double down and max either super fast or super tanky units aren't you? I bet you actually got rused into using the pre-mid-season upgrade SEED MS and G Gundam units.
>In most cases, all of the units you needed to fight were right there
Bullshit. There was one stage in the entirety of J that didn't feature enemy reinforcements, and it most certainly wasn't a SEED stage.
Eat shit, I beat the game 4 times.
Christ forbid I have a selection I like that isn't the same as yours, right?
Alpha 3 has plenty of its own problems. I would even say I enjoyed Z3 much more, in that I finished Tengoku and intend to play it again while my run of Alpha 3 made it past End of Eva and then stalled dead in its tracks. And it's not that I can't appreciate the older gameplay, because I finished Alpha 2 three times. Alpha 3 is just a boring slog of a game in its last act. In terms of series integration, there's virtually none. SEED is worked incredibly poorly into the plot, far worse than Aquarion Evol or Eva's integration into Z3.
In fact, there's only one thing about Tengoku that I'd say is irredeemably bad, and that's the Angels. The Sphere holders could have used more screen time to flesh them out, but make up for it by being some of the rare times that an SRW boss is actually something to take a bit seriously. What they get is still as much or more than the typical SRW villain gets, it's just less than Z1 and Z2 had given us. Asakim's twist is something that explains a lot of his strange behavior in the past and fits with what we already knew about him while also being something few people predicted. Even Advent works, in fact I like a lot of the things that are done with him. Hibiki gave us memes for days and greatly surpassed most protagonists for how well he interacts with the non-OG cast. Doctrine, Tempti and Sacrifi are completely inexcusable, though. None of them work as characters or as antagonists, and it's with their introduction that the last act of the game starts relying far too heavily on the "beyond human comprehension" shtick that just doesn't work. Keisar Ephes is basically a non-character who has no buildup or foreshadowing of any kind and basically nothing to do with the plot about the universe collapsing other than killing him somehow fixing it, but he does still have an air of menace about him that the Angels largely lack.
Speaking of which, I'm so surprised they didn't have Calvina show up even as a small cameo as White Lynx in 2nd OG or anything, they did it for MX peeps in Gaiden, now we have no actual shown history of her being the white lynx.
Exactly. What kind of casual doesn't enjoy slowly chipping away HP with the Nadesico girls while laughing at their pathetic attempts at counterattacks? Now get out of here, you insufferable dunce.
The worst part about J REINFORCEMENT is that they're another sign of the game's bad crossover plot since it's just a cheap way to tie battles that has nohing to do with each other together. I only recently played stage 24 again and after decimating the arm slaves and puffy behemoth, the bloody Boazans of all people just pop out of nowhere with only a single line of justification from our side speculating that they probably thought this would be a good chance to attack. Worse, the two Super EM machines shows up, only to retreat again after making a fool of themselves having done nothing of consequence whatsoever.
I'm still mad about what they did with Advent because it's stupidly predictable and boring.
They should have made him go evil and THEN reveal it was an elaborate ruse. With Advent this cliche would be unpredictable.
I just want the next OG game to phase out some of the worst looking sprite from OGs. Some were fixed in the transition to HD (Valsione, even if Valsione R shat the bed). Stuff that really needed fixing was the R-1, R-3, Ryukooh, the MP Hucky (which is probably gone in the next game, or hopefully replaced with the MP Wildschwein), etc...
>I would even say I enjoyed Z3 much more, in that I finished Tengoku and intend to play it again while my run of Alpha 3 made it past End of Eva and then stalled dead in its tracks.
That's some shit ass taste you got there.
>SEED is worked incredibly poorly into the plot, far worse than Aquarion Evol or Eva's integration into Z3.
Top fucking kek. You can remove EVOL, Eva, Frontier, and Gargantia from Z3 and nothing would change hell they didn't even give any meaningful interactions or make them important to the plot, we fucking went from the Sousei cast crossovering with Getter Robo G to the EVOL cast being complete non-entities only to fucking be used as a extra attack for Sousei how the fuck can you say that's better than SEED's inclusion?
>but make up for it by being some of the rare times that an SRW boss is actually something to take a bit seriously.
What the fuck? They were glass canons and they all got taken out in a single stage.
>Asakim's twist is something that explains a lot of his strange behavior in the past and fits with what we already knew about him while also being something few people predicted. Even Advent works.
Hell to the fuck no, Asakim's whole arc shows that they were just making shit up as they went on.
>Hibiki gave us memes for days and greatly surpassed most protagonists for how well he interacts with the non-OG cast.
Not even fucking close, he was so unbelievably bland that he made Kyousuke seem interesting and what memes? Repeating bad engrish lines got seriously old and outside that there was nothing to him and his interactions was also shit probably because the characters he interacted with had nothing interesting to say or moments in vain of Rand, Holland and Gain drinking buddies, Setsuko, Shinn and Kamille crying buddies or the misfortunenate adventures of Crowe, Lockon and Hayato. No instead we got bland child soldier talking with bland child soldier #1357225 and Terada's waifu.
I won't take the bait, I won't post the list that has all of Z3's faults. That just leads to endless shitposting for the rest of the thread.
And we promised to never speak of Z3, again.
Kouji was lame in this game, so I avoided him. The rest of the list was skipped because I wanted to see if a high evasion playthrough was possible. Unfortunately, it wasn't very enjoyable since enemies just avoided things they couldn't hit. Besides, during another older super robot run with Calvina and Granteed, I practically beat the whole game with just that unit alone with Tetsuya as support, so having so many super robots on your team is a little redundant when friendship buff is so useful in this game.
>Kouji was lame in this game, so I avoided him.
I did use him once, and as a unit with Mazinkaiser it's really good. It's just that as a character he's so lame and boring here. Through the entire thing, he just tagged along and made some lame comments every now and then with the one exception being him Sayaka busting Sousuke and Kaname out of Gauron's base. That was pretty cool.
>Using units based on how much they contribute to the story
I am sorry what?
You don't do this? That's really strange, anon. I don't swear off units because of story/character, but definitely prefer characters that are well written in a game.
If I didn't care about that stuff at all, I'd use Boss Borot a lot more often since it's usually a decent unit that can soak up and dish out damage with the added bonus of not having to worry about repairing it since it's dirt cheap. But that's not how I roll.
No I don't I want to use units that are cool and or fucking nuke shit.
As an example I don't care if Ryoma says nothing as long as he is in Shin Getter its fine because I can shin shine spark right up everyones asses.
I use Kouji in the Mazinkaiser So he can take dimension breaking attacks like said thing attacking me is trying to hit it with a tiny stick.
Why the actual fuck do you use units based on how much they contribute to the story?
He did give Touya the Brightslap for all intents and purposes so that's something I guess
It wasn't really brainwashing him into being a Fury soldier. The cytron was implanting his dad's personality into him. Fortunately his dad was a pretty cool guy so no one felt the need to stop it.
I'm currently going through my first earnest Touya run, so that's something to look forward to. When was this supposed to happen? I'm on stage 17 now and I remember Kouji and Tetsuya giving Touya a scolding about him being a whiny bitch, but that's about it.
That gets boring after a playthrough and it takes a while before it becomes satisfying again. During the run where I used D Granteed, everything else save for the bits that advanced story became a little boring since I'd just park Calvina in the middle of the map and watch everything explode. That was fun at first, but got old after about three stages.
Yeah, I do that. I can't watch SRW animation over and over because they're too nice and detailed. They're only on for very special occasions or if I think there might be some interesting conversation.
>That's some shit ass taste you got there.
I dunno, not the same guy but I didn't like Tengoku or alpha 3 all that much. Both their endgames were hilariously weak compared to REALLY STRONG starts.
Actually Z3 original had a potential to be interesting if they remove Suzune and make Hibiki the teacher instead. his interaction with the tenage pilot will be more interesting since he is in the position of a teacher and has a responsibility to look after the younger pilots. sadly Bandai Namco choose to ripoff Onegai Teacher instead.
He doesn't go full knight mode until the final three stages. Before then he pretty much just sobers up and stops complaining. Frankly most OGs don't have much in the way of personality.
There's no OG character from J who will ever be a match for this mechtacular martial artist.
For what purpose does it exist?
