>This week’s issue of Famitsu magazine reveals Super Robot Taisen OG: The Moon Dwellers for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.
>Not much detail is known about the game so far, but a teaser trailer will be revealed on January 21 at 1:00PM JST. We’ll also get some more details when info from the magazine leaks soon.
>Is that the Ceberus below Daizengar?
>And who are the two besides Granteed?
Compatikaiser on the right, this guy on the left
Granteed – Touya Shiun is playable. Katia Grignard and Melua Melna Meia are support. Touya is the protagonist of the game. He throws himself into an encounter with Granteed, and Katia and Melua are two girls who appear riding Granteed.
Soul Saber FF – A prototype developed for mass production by Mogami Heavy Industries.
Akimi Akatsuki – The son of the president of Mogami Heavy Industries. He goes to the same high school as Touya.
Soul Saber GG – A prototype developed for mass production by Mogami Heavy Industries.
Akemi Akatsuki – Akimi’s twin sister. She often has to hold down her brother, who easily rushes into things.

At the start of the game, you can select “Beginner Mode.” This lets inexperienced players play the game without worry, with more funds and upgrade parts to obtain.
This is the first title as part of the Super Robot Wars 25th anniversary. There are other projects underway other than this game.
Super Robot Wars J protagonist Calvina Coulange will also appear as an ally unit.
Granteed’s setup will change in a big way, and he’ll be Touya’s personal mech.
The protagonists of Super Robot Wars GC were set up as twins. The Real Robot that wasn’t Soul Saber (maybe Soul Gunner?) won’t appear in this game.
Immediately after the game starts, it branches into two paths, one with Touya and another with Calvina. The Touya route is easier to play for new players.
The branch has no connection to the SR point.
Thanks to the hard work of the development staff, the special moves of the new mecha are a spectacular sight to see.
Development is 70 percent complete.
>Akimi’s twin sister
I was kinda hoping they'd flip it and have the female Akimi be the main but hey, at least they grabbed both. Hopefully they acknowledge the fact that the same thing happened with R cast in some way.
A new OG... great!!
Is it just me or this could be like a side game, i'm wondering because it's "The moon dwellers" subtitle and doesn't have the Dai 3 ji... or maybe i'm just thinking too much lol
Glad to have a new game with the J cast
>Is it just me or this could be like a side game, i'm wondering because it's "The moon dwellers" subtitle and doesn't have the Dai 3 ji... or maybe i'm just thinking too much lol
>implying Trollada won't Make OG3 til the 30th Anniversary....
Hell yeah, Day 1 import
Coustwell gonna be secret unit, mark my word.
Also I was hoping the powerpuff girls will be in granteed together with touya, making a standin of voltes/combattler in OG. At least until W.
New Soul Saber lineart by the guy who did the BX originals
Red Gunner for Rio
new Melua lineart
I wonder if we'll ever have a situation where the female gets the melee and the male gets the ranged.
Even in the more gender balanced period of the series they never did that unless the game had four protags.
new Katia lineart
new Touya lineart
box image, Ing on the cover
It seems we'll get a new member for the Pachinko crew since it's on the front
This is awesome, but it does make me wonder what OG will do once they reach the samey set ups and characters of recent years. Will OG? Still be going on by then or will we just have game after game where the new main guy is a young man with a female sub pilot.
I don't mind Touya's new art.
I don't mind Katia's new art.
This'll probably take place when all the crazy stuff from Masoukishin Part 2 onward takes place so it would make it kinda hard.
New info from interview:
-Moon in the title because it will be important
-Direct sequel to 2ndOGs
-You change the Soul Saber main pilot/forms in the intermission but both twins seishin is available in battle
-Twin system and Maximum Break still in
-You still ohave to choose one subpilot for the Granteed out the 3 girls
-Battle animation even more dynamic
>Was Katia always short-haired?
If anything the hair got longer
looking forward to J Original Theme Remix
wonder if Cobray will pop up in the game?
they should port OG Saga to Vita, don't think the specs are that demanding for SRW
Drill comes out from the chest while holding onto enemy
Much more brutal than Jeeg Breaker
Probably nothing. PS4 may have better load times but that's it.
Though this confirms that they have assets and development for the PS4 now, so OG3 being on PS4 as well is pretty much guaranteed.
I hope the empress/touya's childhood friend/one shot character back in the days got to pilot the dragon and get more shine in the new game
>GRANTED IN GLORIOUS HD
>NEW AWESOME MOON KNIGHTS RENDITION
>playing SRW J on smartphone
>going against all those fuckhuge maps with a gajillion reinforcements
>finally manage to get 3 maps until ending
phone gets stolen
mfw having to go through all of that again
You guys have no idea how butthurt I am.
I will never find a save for Touya's route with Tenia using Coustwell.
Shine Hausen is in the game (same VA as Sally-chang)
This is silly. Earth's Moon isn't that interesting. We had much better Moons on Atreem. This game would be better if it was called Atreem Dwellers.
>Thanks to the hard work of the development staff, the special moves of the new mecha are a spectacular sight to see.
I guess it is ok to say that for the rest of the units, they will just recycle the animations of 2ndOGs, right?
They said it's 70% done, which most likely means a March or April release. They'll probably announce another title around that time as well.
This seems to be another Gaiden that will set things up for OG3.
There is no way they would have two of the three powerpuff girls in this, so we'll likely see Tenia with Calvina on the next scan or trailer.
>Calvina's style fits the ranged mech, I mean she is not a super material.
>Literally ignoring the point where she snaps and gets massive bloodlust rage after Al-Van shows up
>ignoring the fact that she gets slapped out of it by Mao of all people
She's Super as fuck after that point.
She's only really stoic/cold ace pilot early on.
I mean that it's not "OG characters based on the Z characters". It's the ACTUAL characters from Z brought into OG through dimension shenanigans.
As in the characters who know Kamille and Kouji etc.
The scan with Granteed says that you'll be able to pick between the three girls as the sub-pilot for it, meaning Tenia is in.
They probably just didn't show her here because they didn't want to show Calvina all by herself.
So... Double BLADE KICK and Full Impact DEAD END SHOOT.
God bless Obari for this chance.
No MK means The events of MK 2 are taking place. They COULD mix them up... Also no R crew? Even in The E. Rescue? I was hoping we COULD gradually get The old (ot new) frames.
Guys I'm going to replay 2ndOG and go for the real ending this time
What are the recommended units? I found the game pretty hard to be honest
and which girl units are actually good
>all these forms
FG always gets the melee/ranged finish moves
I really don't know, I dropped Z2.2 because it was way too easy with every single ennemy getting kill on 1 hit.
Maybe I missed some kind of important mechanic in 2ndOG, which is also why I want to try again.
Also the music fucking triggered me, I just couldn't get over it, this time I'll just mute the game and try to enjoy it.
Touya goes to school with Kouji Kabuto and has the mech crash into a nearby bulding and then three girls get out and rush him over to pilot it, while Calvina is this lone-survivor military pilot and instructor with her own well-known callsign, set up to serve with the Nadesico. It's pretty blatant the intent for each.
> But but, she gets mad later!
Because a 'real' robot protag never went full-on rage mode before?
I remember searching if 2nd OG had custom BGM everywhere and trying asking /m/ and I never found anything or given any clear reply.
No Tenia is the offensive one. Katia was gave offensive and defensive buffs and Melua was the tank.
Bellezute's finisher with Tenia is another member of the fire everything and finish with a melee attack club that reals are fond off these days too.
I remember their stat buffs, but I also remember a description of her somewhere saying that she was primarily melee focused. Considering how said finisher is the only melee attack on a mech that otherwise has no melee whatsoever, I'd say it checks out. Haven't seen all the finishers though, so I'm not too sure. Hell, I don't even have the Raftclans in J, but if any one of the girls give you Orgone Sword Final mode as the finisher, I'm willing to bet it's Tenia.
>They finish their frames halfway through the game
>This starts playing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KC56o9dg8SM
If I recall correctly, the other primary J bosses were, pardon if my spelling's wrong, Fu-Lu and Al-Van. Ja-Mu had the Claw, Fu-Lu had the Gun, Al-Van had the Sword.
I did actually think a few of the remixes were better than the original songs, weirdly enough. Eternal Loneliness, for example, sounded far better. Though this is honestly probably because I didn't like the original all that much.
I remember that Tenia Granteed Dracodeus finisher is the worst finisher in J. Granteed just throws a sword at the enemy and there is no explosion or anything else. I wonder why?
Meanwhile Melua Granteed Dracodeus finisher is the best.
Probably no Gaia Savers. It was essentially Euzeth's private army if I recall and I would assume the DC still has a few remnants but hopefully, they're smarter than their predecessors.
we should really not be judging their classifications based on their personal story. The super/real dichotomy is silly anyway.
Touya's plot is the Kira/Masato/Eiji/Akito story while Calvina's story is the Blade/Domon story basically, which is nice plotting if you ask me
>>>Vs a kinda dodgy Super and another real Sniper
Both were reals with absurd base stats, 240 base EN over 6000 base HP, 125+ Mobility, and Lightning could tank with its 1800 base armor.
On top of that they had absurd fucking finishers for like, 50 EN that had 6000 and 5900 base power, with Eternal's being god damn 2-9 without any parts.
Also had EN Regen L, Fiona got the second cheapest Enable in the game, and Raul gets 2 subpilots with absurd sets in the last 2 stages.
"not particularly powerful" my ass, play the fucking games.
Anon, you're talking about a game with the SRX, Shinka Ialdabaoth, Dygenguar, Vysaga, Compatible Kaiser, and Gespenst Mk II Kai running around. The Excellences aren't anything particularly special.
What's wrong with Touya, I thought he matured and mellowed out pretty well throughout the game.
I think it was a bit more than that. Don't they like crystallize the thing with a laser and then throw it into the air before impaling it on the (giant) sword? That's what I remember.
>>ppl are suprised J is in the next game
Who the fuck is surprised J is finally in OG?
I'm pretty sure everyone's predictions for the next OG was "J is either going to be center stage or have it's plot done really quickly"
He never really got interesting in the way Calvina was. His big twist is that he's a half alien and his dad knew a bunch of other aliens. Okay. It doesn't help that he has no personal connection with the rest of the OG cast like Calvina.
>It doesn't help that he has no personal connection with the rest of the OG cast like Calvina.
What connection exactly? They both have a handful of friends in the OG cast and that's about it.
>Is Kazuma still the strongest MC in SRWverse due to how his Valzacard can withstand universe reset?
Valcazard's 'vulcan' attack is the main cannon of a battleship so i will say yes. Maybe cobray could beat him
J straight up dropped the ball with his plot, basically. He finds out his dad was an alien, and there's a reveal that his mech is literally brainwashing him into be a Fury soldier and... nothing comes of this.
Well I guess there's that one endgame scene where he goes full holier than thou, but as soon as that chapter is over he just flips back like it never even happened.
They never even explained why the fuck the Fury princess was in his dreams!
>It doesn't help that he has no personal connection with the rest of the OG cast like Calvina.
He is the classmate of Akimi Akatsuki and sister of the GC/XO characters. Akimi's home Mogami Industry helped rebuilding Compati Kaiser. Akemi being Shoko's schoolmate... and somehow linked with Ryoto and Rio
>Implying Cobray can beat a guy who has access to three side of triangle of Solomon.
Something like Heavy Arms Full Burst attack instead it is done by Valzacard?
>and Gespenst Mk II Kai
I understand everything on the list except this.
Gespenst mark "literally no range outside of equipable weapons" II and its 4800/6700 finisher are ass in comparison.
Everything ain't worth shit compared to HTB spam.
They're pretty on par, actually, the thing is Folka has better offensive stats than Raul and Fiona's (that and Raul and Fiona's stat growth type doesn't benefit from OGG's dumb level curve).
Combo attack, automatically better than all units without one.
Trades EN Regen for Bunshin which is kind of unnecessary with its base mobility and S ranks but ok. Does have a 6200/7200 finisher for 40 EN and a P ALL so it is pretty good. A shame you have to wait until fucking stage 29 to get it but then again you wait until then for L&R too, I'd say it's just on par but it has almost no range on strong attacks besides the finisher, and like Fiona, Lamia isn't around to leech off PP since early in the game.
Has like a 6600 base power finisher with a sub with 48 SP Zeal, so this is true.
OGG is a broken mess in general though. Every unit tries to oneup the last one, I mean christ just look at the Boxer, other than lack of range, it still packs a fucking absurd finisher (6200/7800 for 40 EN and 120 Will)
Of course there's exceptions like Armorlion and Wurger retaining the exact same stats they had in OG2
You can't cast Soul on your own and need to be twinned.
And Kai is not pilot locked to it, so you could get more damage out of Soul by putting him on, I dunno, anything with a finisher higher than 6700 final power.
You can twin Kai with Raul or Fiona to get them Soul anyways.
Or twin them with anyone with Soul, really.
I wonder if we'll get to unlock the Raftclanz on Touya's and Calvina's routes, and if Calvina's story intersects with Touya's at points.
Chances are Al-Van's will be the only Raftclans we get. And of course the two stories will intersect. It's not like J's plot will be handled entirely within the first route split.
The best thing about this is that we won't have to deal with shitty Masoukishin crap.
Also I'm sure they're dropping numbers for their og games.
Let's cross our fingers and hope against hope that the beginner mode was made to expand into america/english asian version
>We're running out of enemies boss!
>"Open up the Endless Frontier"
>PxZ levels of reinforcements
In all honestly, the Space Jews probably aren't going to show up.
There's no way that Banpresto would not give Balmar the title credits if they were in the game. This is more OG.
But you also knows that we might get preplot W
>Cybuster suddenly never existed due to winkysoft going bankrupt
>Lord of who?
I can see this happening
we still have to get shin ryukooh against the balmar, but with ganlong dead who knows
WILL DAIRAIOH BE HERE?
There is always a reason for them to get M-ganzy to redraw the proportions
>Will DaiRaioh be here
It's feasible. Touma's plot just requires an enemy faction to fight and is he's the least tied to the Space Jews of the 3 other @3 protagonists.
If they wanted to give it to us, they could
Can't wait for stupid sexy moon knight grunts.
-Great Battle with 4th member from the original dimension that will repair the OG Engine for full Pachinko power. Dark Brain as one of the final bosses
-Something obscure like the Getviewm being a Balmar agent
can't think of anything else
>Chances are Al-Van's will be the only Raftclans we get.
At least let Fu-Lu and her Raftclans be saveable, since Al-Van's will likely be sacrificed for the same reasons as in J, complete with Calvina's dramatic scene with him. Then make Vorlent + Raftclans be an NG+ unit again, preferably with a bit of dialogue over the Raftclans once it's claimed (SRWJ didn't really ever have alternate commentary regardless of mech choices made).
> Sanger, Calvina, Al-Van, and Fu-Lu(!) as a knight squad
My heart can't take this!
Yes, but that can be subsisted with any warrior guy from an alien race.
His relationship with Baran is more "We've got to give everyone a rival character" than him really being relevant in the big space jew plotlines.
There are plenty of Fury who he can NOBLE RIVALRY with instead
He loses the Raftclans though, which was what I'm getting at. At least if Fu-Lu can be saved for reasons other than waifuing, that would leave a playable Raftclans for the last few missions, and serve as a tease of a possible NG+ Raftclans would offer if you get it even earlier.
>ZO Sword combo attack with SRX
On a scale of 1 to TENJOU TENGA MUTEKI GIRI, how hype would you be?
I know right?!
>at least I expect them to add a new attack in a OPEN GETTA fashion
SRX combining has been shown to be a slow and complex transformation. It isn't as easy as three jets combining at high speeds like the Getter is.

The game will let you start out with “Beginner Mode,” which makes it easier by giving you more currency and upgrade parts.
Next is a look at some notes from an interview with the producer:
This is the first part of Super Robot Taisen’s 25th anniversary. While he couldn’t share more, he said that they have other plans in the works other than this game.
Super Robot Taisen J’s other protagonist Calvina Coulange will appear as an partner unit.
Granteed will be very different this time around, and also exclusive to Touya.
Super Robot Taisen GC’s protagonists appear as twins. The Real Robot that’s not Soul Saber (Soul Gunner?) won’t appear in the game.
The game splits into two routes right after the start. One has Touya and the other Calvina. New players can have an easier time by starting out with Touya’s route.
The routes aren’t related to the SR Point.
The development staff put in a lot of work for the battle scenes and special moves, that are said to be quite something this time around. Especially with Touya on Ganteed with Katia or Melua as the sub-pilots, along with another girl named Tenia (Festenia Muse,) it’s safe to assume that this could be the most voluminous of the entire series.
so how is the plot of J again?
>hot run away girls crash into a school
>pick the faggiest and whiniest dude around to force him to pilot it for them
I don't remember but the mech you picked reacted or something to Touya?
>The Real Robot that’s not Soul Saber (Soul Gunner?) won’t appear in the game.
>I don't remember but the mech you picked reacted or something to Touya?
Touya turns out to be a half-breed of the race that made the machines, so it reacts to him and starts pumping him full of alien energy every time he pilots it. It pretty much trickle feeds his reluctant personality and replaces it with something more like the Fury soldiers and his father in particular, so by the end of it he's an alien knight version of the sword that cleaves evil.
I thought Calvina could use them after being exposed to their magitech engines having worked on the development of the machines? Or maybe after enough infusion from Al-Van while they were developing the mechs.
Either way, she was then able to use the machines themselves and trained the others.
Yes, but Center Center? That's always reserved for new appearances or mechs getting an upgrade/important plot significance.
Alt was on the art for 2nd, but wasn't really that important plot wise.
STOP IT NOW
ExExbein is too over the top compared to its predecessors
>it's not even Og3rd it's a fucking gaiden so like we all know that the J and GC crew are gonna get shafted the fuck out or just plain cut in 3rd just like what happened to R and Shura gods
Falsaber really doesn't have an identity of its own, outside of Bootleg Brave, which really isn't much of an identity. Also, if you ever wanted to see a design that completely fucked up a knight theme, look no further than Falsaber. Of all the OG mechs, Glitter Falsaber was the only one to really fulfill this theme.
And Briovictor is just an unweildly, stiff, and clunky design. The backpack and shoulders, with all of its solid parts sticking out all over and covering so much space, meshes like shit when the rest of its body is so lacking in form.
That's just my two cents, but I just think his designs are bad.
Also, this is just for in general, but if you want to give a mech a cape or a mantle, just fucking give it one. A big stiff rectangle hanging from the mechs back looks bad. Always has and always will.
The reason that they take Touya and even crash into that specific school was probably because the J Original was coded to his genetics. The Powerpuffs seemed to be quite explicitly surprised when the Cytron system reacted in his presence.
>Instead of Sagara it'll be Kyosuke calling him an amateur while Excellen acts like a jackass and riles him up
>The Real Robot that wasn’t Soul Saber (maybe Soul Gunner?) won’t appear in this game.
>Granteed’s setup will change in a big way, and he’ll be Touya’s personal mech.
Fuck everything, this will be just as bad as the D mechs in 2nd OG.
I keep saying it because I 100% believe it'll happen. All the signs are here.
Rim not being able to main Forte is the only thing I don't like about 2ndOG. And I guess being able to up/down the sound but not mute completly. Maybe they do this so it's harder for people to record vids.
She... She can pilot it on her own! Fucking finally! And she can use the photon rifle, which means it fucking has fucking P moves too!
>change backstory from original game
>dropping design from original game
Not the first time
It doesn't say anything about the other 2 mechas. And it only says Tenia will be there, but not when. I think it's safe to assume she's with Calvina, and she'll get the 2 reals for herself.
If Calvina was going to default to the Bellzelute, she'd be partnered with Katia. Since they're giving her Tenia instead, I'm going to assume she has Coustwell until proven otherwise.
>Super Robot Taisen GC’s protagonists appear as twins. The Real Robot that’s not Soul Saber (Soul Gunner?) won’t appear in the game.
Soul Gunner/Soul Lancer won't be in the game.
Soul Saber can swap between FF and GG during intermission. GC original enemies will get new units.
Touya will be MC of the game, and his team will be intercepting battles and lending a hand to other OG characters.
Easy mode yields SR points, money and friendly units like normal mode. Differences between Easy and Normal is Easy has guidance scenarios and story digest of previous OG games.
