Just finished watching SEED.
Is Pic-related great couple or greatest couple? And do they get more screen time in SEED Destiny? /m/ goes on and on about how shit SEED D is and this is the only thing I ended up caring about in SEED.
Been 7-ish years since I watched it, but if memory serves; sadly, the most they get is a fleeting meeting again where they are all like "Oh... I killed your BF and then we may or may not have fucked... Awkward... Maybe want to get coffee?" and she's all
"Not really... We may or may not have fucked."
Sadly, >>13766960 is right
You are right, these are the only thing to care about in SEED
I had SEED on my backlog for a long time and am currently watching it. After 25 episodes I'd say it's been ok, maybe a bit too melodramatic.
But I imagine it will go to shit eventually considering how much /m/ rants about it almost daily.

That couple happened only because the Buster was not selling well and Fukuda decided to have Dearka swap sides to boost its popularity.
He need to make sure to keep Kira away from his weeding day.....
They don't even meet.
Dearka and Mirallia break up, Athrun breaks up with Cagalli and gets a new Coordinator girlfriend. Everything about how Naturals and Coordinators could be together was wrong, the only way to find happiness is to stick to your own kind.
>barely even there
You do know that shipping don't even need
"barely even there" to start right?
Yukinee alone makes AZ better than IBO.

It shouldn't have been. Dude, this piece of garbage is NOT worth your time. If it had been a stupid 6-episode OVA, okay. You can waste your time in something that short.
But this is a full-fledged 50 episode series. 18 hours long. Add Destiny and you have a day and a half.
I'm pretty sure you have much better things to watch in your backlog than this piece of animal excrement. It goes for you as well, OP. Is that winter in the Northern Hemisphere so bad that's freezing your brains?

The fact the writing went exactly in that direction is what pissed me off the most about Destiny.
Pretty much yeah. SEED would be merely mediocre if it wasn't so long. If it was just one season, it might have averaged out to okay.
Destiny, though, is on a whole other level. You really could get one season out of that without even cutting anything of note, there's so much fucking nothing in it.

I honestly don't know if that would've been the case. I mean, Cross Ange is pretty stupid, and that was 26 episodes long. But at least Cross Ange is enjoyable in its stupidity. Can't say the same about SEED. I'm sure Fukuda tried to do "his thing", at the same time he had the mission to Remake Mobile Suit Gundam.
>I'm sure Fukuda tried to do "his thing", at the same time he had the mission to Remake Mobile Suit Gundam.
If anything, I think they were trying to stop Fukuda from doing "his thing." We are talking about the moron that had to be told to make SEED a war story while Fukuda wanted to emulate 70's-style super robots (or as he put it, Gundam's roots).
SEED was mostly harmless. Childish and naive but ultimately harmless fluff. But then it's like Destiny goes out of it's way to forever taint SEED. You'll never be able to watch it the same way after Destiny butchered it's stories and characters. Like, try feeling the same for Mu's sacrifice after seeing Destiny, or investing in Dearka/Milli.
One of the things that disappointed me the most of SEED was Le Creuset's motivation.
That they went with the edgy misanthrope villain felt very cheap and this is made worse since the Coordinator and Natural's leaders are not that far from him and Kira's motive isn't a wonder either.
It seems like SEED lacked complex characters. Personally I found Athrun, Yzek and Dearka the best in this regard but even then they weren't that relevant.
