>The story takes place in San Francisco, California in the wake of a mysterious eruption in which giants of an unknown origin wreak havoc on the earth. The U.S. military is powerless against the monsters whose physiology defies all conventional weaponry. The military then responds with the aid of Dr. Azuma, a bio-engineer, to create a genetic hybrid to combat the giant monsters.
>Nicknamed "Yochu" by Dr. Azuma and known to the military under the operational name "Jack the Giant Killer", humanity's only hope lies in the nine-foot super-being with a bio-engineered arsenal and a samurai katana forged from the fang of one of the behemoths. With a little help from the outlaw Jill Sleet, the only human capable of surviving the poisonous territories of the giants, Jack must learn to overcome or embrace his monstrous nature in order to determine the destiny of mankind.
Scud the Disposable Assassin. In a future where killer robots can be purchased from vending machines, a single Heartbreaker model Scud just so happens to notice the warning sticker on his back noting his demise on destruction of his target. Wanting to avoid certain death for doing his job, he mortally wounds his target- a rampaging female mutant named Jeff- and puts her on life support, taking new jobs to pay his bills and stay alive.
Gear- a Doug Tennapel comic wherein a group of cats fight other critters with giant robots.
I'd argue Wake is pretty /m/. It follows the adventures of a single human, Navis, aboard a massive titular space convoy consisting of alien beings scouring the cosmos for resources and races to exploit and plunder. Often involves some pretty heavy metal and one of Navis' best friends is a service robot named Snivel.
Wake is French so you know it's good. God damn do frogs know how to make comics.
AD2000 in general gets lots of robots in it. One of Judge Dredd's first arcs, for instance, concerns Mega City One's first robot rebellion, and event heralded and lead by a malfunctioning carpenter robot named Call-Me-Kenneth. ABC Warriors focuses entirely on a group of robot soldiers, trudging it out through various and increasingly hazardous jobs.
>It was a beautiful spring day in downtown San Francisco before a gigantic armored alien appeared from out of nowhere and began smashing things all to hell! Who is this invader? Why is he being attacked by strange alien beings? And why is he so GIGANTIC? A twist on The Truman Show, Gigantic focuses on a brainwashed, alien superhero deposited on Earth to be the spotlight of an intrusive, around-the-clock television program being filmed without his knowledge.
>What do you get when you put a washed up loser, an awkward teen going through puberty, and an immortal being into a giant robot? MEGAGOGO, THAT’S WHAT! After ten years of peace and quiet, monsters have returned to wreak havoc on the South. Adam, along with a rag-tag team of misfits, must defend the city of Atlanta. But first they'll have to get past... the KKK!
>The story follows the journey of We3, a squad of three prototype "animal weapons," as they flee captivity. The group consists of a dog, "Bandit" a.k.a. "1"; a cat, "Tinker" a.k.a. "2"; and a rabbit, "Pirate" a.k.a. "3", who were all kidnapped from a nearby city and encased in robotic armor. They were also given a limited ability to speak through skull implants. Their body armor fields numerous weapons, including mine laying devices, machine guns and razor claws.
>We3 meet and overcome numerous hazards on their flight to freedom, as they are pursued by the full might of the military, including other engineered animal weapons. They also encounter civilians, with varying reactions.
