Episode 15: "Trail of Footprints"
"He is a CHAR" edition
>Baneposting aside, Fumitan is kill?
She didn't spy so good.
The cyber newtype girl will probably be some chick with the AV system possibly the white hair girl.
As for the superweapon they will probably dig up some calamity war relic or possibly the gundam frames will have some superhax ability that can only be brough out by AV users which leads to back to white hair girl possibly and Mika to counter it or use it first.
This has to be intentional...
This was so soap opera tier episode so far.
And they are not even trying. Preview definitely looked like Fumitan took the bullet.
Only character which was interesting enough in my cfnm fantasies.
That Navona dude from labor union must be henchmen of butt naked steam batth consumer aka GN.
And biscuit's elder brother's job was to ensure plan B- get leader arrested to legitemize the revolution.
What is Char's plan? cause I cam't even figure out a general outline
He said something about reforms early but what exactly does he mean? Reform it to what state? He said something about Kudelia as well but then let her run away when he had her. Plus these were both said before the mask was put on so could be straight up lies
he's going to job isnt he? fuck this show ;__;
Honestly it get harder to watch as I go through. i could barely get through this episode.
Not just because of the dumb plot points but the writing is just terrible. The melodrama isn't even dumb fun melodrama
As it is from Earth to the Colonies to Mars to Jupiter wants to get rid of Gjallarhorn.
He knows as it is now a corrupt organization but he wants it cleaned. He intends to use Kudelia as a puppet like everyone else.
>but he wants to reform it getting rid of corruption.
What does he mean by this? What state does he want it in? Reform can mean he changes it to many different things anon and so far it isn't clear how he wouldn't be able to do this from the position he had as a high ranking officer, son of one of the leaders
there'll be some ms action next week r-right guys? ;__;
I can't wait for an episode where Kuddles tries to explain to people she was never in support of armed uprisings only for them to mouth off about how the real Kudelia Aina Bernstein wouldn't be that kind of pacifist or some similarly jarring statement.
Kuddles has been overtaken by a meme, perpetuated by a fat guy who loves taking saunas.
As it is Gjallarhorn central's control of the branches has degraded to both corruption and incompetence as we see in this episode.
He wants a stronger centralized control of all Gjallarhorn that they won't be a bunch of fuck ups pissing off the majority of humanity. And he needs Kudelia to tell the rest of humanity to calm the fuck down as Gjallarhorn still has its uses.
>incompetence as we see in this episode.
When they mistook Atra? That's just bad writing
>He wants a stronger centralized control of all Gjallarhorn
back this up please
Also how will his plan here b more effected than being an important member of the group with connections and power?
In the episode where they meet the loli sister McGillis and Galileo talk of the current state of Gjallarhorn and how they'd change it.
I can't watch that but I'll take your word
Other questions still stand as does my point early that by putting on the mask we have no idea what he has lied about like he clearly has done to Garma's sister
>Gjallahorn wasn't allowed to step into the colony
Two of them were beating up Atra
Plus apparently photos just exist so he has no need for the whole cosplay. Even if he did just get a fake ID
Not as much as I love the whole "All new gundam shows are shit, except g-reco because of muh-old-school-animation"-meme.
Is it just me or have the "muh old school animation"-people gotten even more obnoxious after G-reco turned out to be shit in spite of how much hand drawn animation it contained?
>Hime, you are STILL too stupid.
I can't believe they managed to make a character worse than Shakti.
>When they mistook Atra? That's just bad writing
He knew it wasn't her.
>Gjallarhorn colony branch don't want any Seven Stars
Why? General mooks that do stupid things like beat up a little girl are fine but someone who might keep stuff organised is bad?
IBO is honestly one of the best shows I’ve ever seen, bar none, it’s themes of family and willingness to deal with really neat and sometimes violent realities of political conflicts is fascinating. But above all else, I really love the characters, the show is good in making you care deeply for these kids who are trying to carve out their right to exist in a shitty world. fuck tha haters
>He knew it wasn't her.
Who cares about him? We are talking about the soldiers from Titans.
And even Musashi's brother's idea was stupid. Everyone would have realized she was not the real Kudelia.
Hell, this wouldn't have stopped the Martian revolution one tiny fucking bit, because Kudelia just needed to step up and "Hi, guys, I'm fine".
IBO is bad only if you're waiting for seriousness, substance or credibility within the Gundam franchise, a franchise which has literally the lowest standards in all of these criterias and narratives since 40 fuckin years. So basically IBO is as bad as the previous series, despite what the moronic league of /m/ tells because of the lack of gratuitous MS battles and super made-in-two-weeks hidden prototype number 9142.
Having her if anything caused more issue as it spurred them on
His whole plan made no sense. What he should have done is sat her down and sent a picture of her in talks. Then they could go hey look we are good guys and want to work something out
>Who cares about him? We are talking about the soldiers from Titans.
They didn't care either they just wanted anyone that was with Tekkadan to use as a scapegoat. It was doomed to failure because he was shitting his pants in panic mode and desperate. He was trying to buy time to talk down Gallahorn from suppressing the colony not stop the Martian Revolution. That was the point.
But go on. Keep watching a show you don't like.
He's just a strict utilitarian, he's weighing the life of one innocent against the lives of others in the uprising, it's especially offensive to most western people because most governments in the west are based on the idea of individual rights to the point where it's (at least ideally) better to let many guilty go free instead of an innocent be punished/killed
>They didn't care either they just wanted anyone that was with Tekkadan to use as a scapegoat.
No, they don't. Soldiers from Gahjaron want the real Kudelia. Taking a fake one won't do them any good because she knows jack shit about Martian rebellion.
That is the point.
>He was trying to buy time to talk down Gallahorn from suppressing the colony not stop the Martian Revolution. That was the point.
And it didn't work for one second. Because the guys from the docks are with Tekkadan and Musashi's brother knew that.
And guess what? Tekkadan knows what face Kudelia has.
It was doomed to fail as soon as he thought about it.
I don't think anyone cares about his actions being offensive or what.
It is just that it is stupid and makes no sense.
Even if they killed Atra live on television with a guillotine, it wouldn't accomplishing anything, because the workers from the docks are with Tekkadan, Tekkadan knows what face and where Kudelia is.
It's not like anything in real world current events occurred where political prisoners accused of being something they obviously were not were just recently freed after years of being held captive and questioned about their secret efforts to undermine the foreign oppressive government they were living under at the time.
Nope. Nothing like that has happened at all.
>I came here to protect you!
>But you are free to go run after the spy who works for the guys that are trying to kill you.
Fantastic. And people said Chronicle was incompetent.
What are you trying to prove with that image? That is after he tells him and then suddenly crazy rant out of no where. He is normal enough up till then and shows surprise when told only going crazy after
Agree with that. IBO brings back a superficial (but at least existing) sense of political awareness into Gundam by putting a more concrete social matter at the center of the conflict, instead of all the genocide crap, super-evolved and superior race stuff the limp IP was all about since decades. It doesn't work that aspect well, but it tries to incorporate more actual-world-grounded elements and less personalized struggles. The machines are also relatively unspectacular in power compared to recent serie's MS, for now. In a sense it's a more Dougramesque Gundam with a soap-opera feel, a flawed but different ride for a stoned, automatic and tired franchise. The writing is a often weak and the ending could be awful, but this time you DO have all the good ingredients on the table and the sincere will to tell a story which is not just an UC rehash.
Acting shady is not the same as having a huge freak out where his face goes all weird. Also the reason for acting shady was he was tricking them so they got captured. He very much did show surprise at and acted differently that he was before in that scene, his whole face morphed and how he was talking changed
He did believe Atra was Kudelia
I pretty much agree with this. Even if the show is basic anime melodrama, at the very least they're setting up the conflict and the stakes before just throwing up a bunch of random giant robot shootouts every week out of nowhere.
Making the argument that at least IBO tries doesn't really stand when you watch the show and see how little effort is put in. Stuff like the Mar's independence stuff isn't well thought out and is very basic background information. Never mind how lazily it will introduce whole new plot elements
>IBO brings back a superficial (but at least existing) sense of political awareness into Gundam by putting a more concrete social matter at the center of the conflict,
> instead of all the genocide crap, super-evolved and superior race stuff the limp IP was all about since decades
>t it tries to incorporate more actual-world-grounded elements and less personalized struggles
It is not like that is exactly what Tomino already did with Turn A and G-Reco.
00S1 tried it, at least on the surface. It ended up being more about Celestial Being's overall arc of learning UNDERSTANDING, which I assume would have then passed through to the rest of the world in S2 if it hadn't been for gunota whining.
Also, I read one analysis of G-Reco as a commentary on the resurgence of contemporary Japanese right wing calls to re-arm, but the truth is that whatever grounded examination of the dynamics of war-time politics there might have been was lost in the gobbledy gook that was Tomino's world-building (which is a shame because he's basically the guy who invented it vis a vis anime).
Post-2000 Tomino is all about his idealized vision of being young and the main character's freedom to leave, come back and leave again in the middle of war according to his only feelings. There is absolutely no sense of political weight or era determinism in these shows.
>Any semblance of Tension
For something to be tense, people would have to actually give a shit.
Mcgillis's retarded mask isnt a permanent thing is it?
>Post-2000 Tomino is all about his idealized vision of being young and the main character's freedom to leave, come back and leave again in the middle of war according to his only feelings.
>What is Victory
>. There is absolutely no sense of political weight or era determinism in these shows.
Sure. Let's completely ignore Mask's revanchism, Towasanga and Venus Globe migration flux, the relevance of religion
one of the few times, if not the only one, a Gundam show talked about the issue, Amerian government covering their desire to invade other territories using political issues.
It is not like this is happening IRL too.
Yeah it has nothing to do with the fact that this show is boring shit.
That isn't it at all.
I'm enjoying IBO and I enjoyed G Reco.I don't see why /m/ thinks you can enjoy one and not the other. Both shows had issues but still managed to be decent. This is the first time in a long time that I was able to enjoy two consecutive Gundam series in a row.
Well it's pretty obvious that you're calling everything that doesn't conform to your autistic standards shit after that one show that did conform to your autistic standards, G-Reco, was shit and got clearly labeled as such.
This hipster "I hate any and all 3DCG" garbage is really the worst thing shitting up /m/ over the time I've been here.
The main character is unrelated to all that landscape. Tomino, putting his finger in the air and shouting "Political Issue" without an intention to include this in the narratives instead of decorate surroundings, is an old trick from an old man.
The thing about G-Reco is that it was supposed to be this really great show with next to no CGI which clicked perfectly with the hipster "CGI is shit" that's taken hold in both movies and anime. Then when the show aired and turned out to have a mess of a plot, absolutely horrible dialogue and really uninteresting designs that people bashed it for, the hipsters that thought of it almost like the second coming just went nuts.
We see them in this thread bashing IBO because they think that the same people who based G-Reco for all it's flaws are going to like IBO.
>Bellri and Aida's way of thinking is heavily if not mostly based on what their parents think
>they start to doubt the actions of their faction early in the show and almost if not all the political commentary comes from their thoughts on the events
>their development is all about questioning the root of their actions and gaining a new perspective on the events, that was hidden from them for all their life because SU-Cordism doesn't allow communication between Earth and space. Tomino himself said he thinks kids need to have a neutral education from their parent and must expand their interactions or won't grow up fine.
>main characters unrelated to all that landscape
Bellri changes his factions/opinions like you change your wears every morning. He isn't concerned by any political cause except the "muh-derstanding life" at the core of each Tomino babble-babble since 1985.
>Bellri changes his factions/opinions like you change your wears every morning.
Did you even watch the anime?
Among the other things Bellri didn't go back because he knew the Army was doing something bad and he wanted to report to his mom about that and the Amerians.
> He isn't concerned by any political cause
The whole point of the travel was to be able to gain a just political cause.
whens this bitch going to get the shit kicked out of her? atra did deserve the beating that was actually meant for worst girl
>he has less of a personality than fucking Mika
He really doesn't. I watched the 00 compilation movies last night, and considering how they fucking butchered everything with them, like the Turn A ones, I still felt that Setsuna had more of a personality than Mika. And I don't even like 00.
So, union leader guy is playing both sides of the street? Or is he just trying to backstab Tekkadan and get as many bargaining chips as possible for taking over the colony?
She's a simpering clod stuck in a self-pity rut.
The first ep or two, fine, she's a rich girl who was riding high on notions of being revolutionary and solving everyone's troubles for them, #MartianLivesMatter. Then she has to actually go out and live with them and realizes she's fucking useless at everything. The problem is not only is that tired as hell (true as it may be, the comically useless female lead is really played out), but she hasn't moved past it since. Every episode she continues to wallow in her own powerlessness, and gets a pep talk not to worry, only to resume brooding the next ep. Even when she starts to make progress and find some way to be useful - which is always in some traditional-waifu role like teaching or cooking or first aid - she ends up right back to brooding over uselessness right after.
It's fucking tiresome.
>they definitely learned from HGBF stickerfests
Navona wants revolution
Biscuit's brother is working with the enemy, but really only does so because he wants to prevent a revolution from starting in Dort 2, which would destroy the slums he really belongs to
Navona thinks Biscuit's brother is a traitor to the slum folk
Biscuit's brother is apologising because he even thoug he switched sides he still didn't manage to stop revolution, which will lead to the Union workers getting wiped out by Gjallarhorn's supposed superior firepower. He is now going to be forced to be against the people he was trying to help, just by being part of the establishment
A spoiled rich girl who never had to work for something in her life is useless without her parents. Gee colour me surprised. You guys sound surprised at how helpless she is.
She is an idealist and nothing more. This is more realistic to other princesses who could do everything under the fucking sun. I expected her to be useless but straight forward and dammit I got that.
Setsuna is just Heero made a godlike being during the course of the show. In the movie, everyone is just waiting for him to save their ass with his superpowers like a messiah. It's undoubtly one of the worst main characters robot animation ever created and stands today among the numerous good reasons to refuse the horrible "Gundam fan" label.
also the shoulders and some part of Gusion legs need to be painted black as well apparently, just like Barbie's yellow rims on its shoulders
>This is more realistic to other princesses who could do everything under the fucking sun.
That isn't true at all. Dianna struggled many times especially the hospital episode. Aida had a huge point about how she forced herself into roles like pilot to please others and failed eventually learning to forge her own path
The problem isn't failing, it is what they learned from it. Kudelia hasn't progressed at all, just fails and complains how how she is useless
Setsuna's whole thing from the start was nihilism because of all the shit he went through as a child soldier. He has a subtle anger to him, a hatred of the world simmering under the surface, that comes out when he faces Ali. But he ends up realizing that he's just as bad as what he's fighting, and over time he starts to UNDERSTANDING and that complete disregard for human life is bad, mkay. That's actually a thing later in S2, in that Graham goes from calm, professional soldier to zealot as almost the complete inverse of Setuna moving from zealot to calm.
Thus far, Mika's just been a guy who didn't give a shit and smiled after killing people. Which was refreshingly straightforward while it was shown off, but since then he's mostly just sat around. Now they're starting to hint at him actually having some deeper level of thought or outright repression, trying to push him down the Setsuna rode of "stoic child soldier that meets a kindly girl politician and realizes the error of his ways".
tldr: Setsuna has more of a persona -right now- because his story is done. Mika's is still ongoing so we'll see, but he's basically Setsuna over again.
What >>13760707 said. If you notice, I said outright that being comically hapless useless princess is boring and played out to start with, and Kudelia is especially bad right now because they JUST KEEP PUTTING HER THERE. It isn't just that she was useless, she keeps BEING useless, and she keeps "making a decision" not to be, only to be right back to brooding over being useless the next episode. Not only doesn't she advance, she goes through the motions of getting ready to do so every episode or two, only to immediately regress and repeat the uselessness process over again. It's incredibly repetitive and boring.
Kudelia's issue is that EVERYTHING involving her is about how useless and dumb she is.
How many scenes did she have that are not about that? The food and the kiss. I don't remember any other.
Relena? Are you fucking serious? About all she ever did was pull a gun on someone, everything else was her being shepherded from place to place by someone else, used as a figurehead passed from Sanc Kingdom to World Nation to foreign service. She never showed any skill other than yelling for Heero or being used as a political tool.
They weren't. But they were in danger more times than Kudelia has ever been so far.
Also Aida lost her lover and was forced to accept his killer and Dianna saw her lover's son die without being able to do a thing about that.
They both had their struggles and problems to deal with.
Rushing to judgements, if the show gets another season then hold off on those and let the show continue. If it is like G-Reco and finishes with only one season, then all your anger is justified.
The only reason I am not bashing this is because I am hoping this gets another 26 episodes.
For that matter, Audrey was much the same - had just enough knowledge to know how to slip off a ship or travel on Earth on her own, but it only lasted until someone else scooped her up. She was just as much a political football being passed around.
Reminder that this is the best Gundam in 10+ years, probably even better than Turn A
And yet here you are in this thread.
I like to be optimistic in whatever I am watching and won't throw away a show because /m/ hates it. Didn't do it Reco and won't do it with IBO.
What a stupid thing to do. They've advertised it as a 1 season show the whole way through. Unlike 00 this was never said to be split season. 25 episodes is what you are getting. The past 3 Gundam series were all 25 episodes. All were more successful than this so far and only one got a sequel and even that didn't use the same cast. This show doesn't even put out unique Gunpla. Everything is a rehash that reuses the other kits in the show. Try introduced a ton of new one off kits and it is only getting an OVA.
Mika is just a dog. He put all his faith in Orga and became a killing machine for him because Orga defines an aim for them he cannot conceive himself. As a social disorder and killings apart, it's a more common trait that the Setsuna childhood trauma cliche.
Lacus was also a coordinator, so her being able to pick up skills or know a bunch of things would have made sense in the setting. What made her cringingly bad was that everyone fell down on their knees to worship her just because she was a pop idol they knew, and somehow she got a whole organization getting all the tech in existence to build super-suits that surpassed those of either a globe-spanning earth government or super-special military organization stocked with other genius supermen like her.
That reminds me, the rest of those 26 Gundam are just gonna be MSV material at this point, right?
I'm interested in white Arche, but I doubt it'll appear in the show.
>All were more successful than this so far
In what way?
>This show doesn't even put out unique Gunpla. Everything is a rehash that reuses the other kits in the show
Subjective nonsense that has been rehashed for months.
Dianna's own crew staged a coup and there was also an assassination attempt against her
Aida tried to get her hands dirty in a mobile suit in an attempt to prove her worth even knowing she she wasnt that great at it
Kudelia has just been tekkadans cargo up to this point
they should ditch her and become pirates
Who here thought best maid was going to go in for a kiss
>In what way?
G-Reco sold more discs, BF was so successful it got a sequel less than a year after it ended and both BF and Try were getting their Gunpla sales praised to high heaven on Twitter by people involved.
>Subjective nonsense that has been rehashed for months.
Subjective? Are you retarded? This show is rehashing the same suits over and over. How many Graze kits will we get? How many Barbatos? How many unique suits are being put out?
How is that subjective? Every kit reuses a large amount of parts outside the not gn arms and pigtails suit, the Graze has about 6 variants with at best minor differences
I will say, as a depressive given to defeatism, Kudelia's bouncing between optimism for tomorrow and abrupt crashes back into self-pity are very familiar. She acts a lot like I did in the past. Always deciding I'd be better starting in the morning only to wake up and be back to start.
The problem is, that's not very good or interesting for a fictional character. It's not something people want to see, and it just drags down the whole show.
How can everything in this show be so objectively sad, but I just don't care about any of it? It's always talking about how fucked up everything is, but I just don't give a shit about any of these retarded characters. They literally had to beat the shit out of a little girl this episode to manufacture drama, but even then it didn't feel earned. I can't wait for some other easy drama like BABY MURDER.
Fumitan is the only one with actual human dilemma, and it's basically been totally in the background, and it will probably be resolved by next episode. Everyone else is a little wind up idiot who is tracing the line down to their eventual animu ending with no interesting growth or development, no internal challenges, it's just a bunch of cartoon nonsense. They're going to work hard together, they're going to get kudelia to earth, basically no one (besides fumitan) will ever betray each other or have anything to lose by choosing the path they want, and even if they do, I just don't give a shit about them. Kudelia will end up with mika, atra ends up with bisquick, and the rest of them end up in gay doujins. Maybe Orga ends up with some cake.
And honestly these problems are minor compared to the show's main issue
THERE FUCKING NO ROBOTS IN THIS SHOW WHAT THE FUCK
It likely has some effect but mostly it is the show doesn't have a lot of variety, it lacks battles to introduce more and sunrise bet the show would sell stupid high numbers so figured everyone would buy
>50 episodes format destroyed 00 with redundant stories and unwanted focus on unwanted characters
Those problems have nothing to do with the 50 episodes count. It's basically how Japan has been telling most of its stories for a while already.
Not him, but I noticed something in that vein. There's so many elements in this show that people have been wanting badly. Things like a reduction of beam spam (if not outright removal), and thereby a return to knock-down drag-out robot bashing. Or having the MC actually be backed up by grunts. Having ship-to-ship boarding, other semi-realisitic things done on a regular basis by the MC's faction. Or having an MC that wasn't so UNDERSTANDING, and didn't have as many problems about just flat killing the other side. Heck, the whole "Gundam on Mars" thing.
All the little touches are there, the setting COULD be magnificent. But instead, we get this grueling Okada melodrama.
>Every kit reuses a large amount of parts outside the not gn arms and pigtails suit.
No that's bull shit, only the variants are sharing the same parts. Even the HG Kimaris and Gusion don't share the same parts as the Barbatos. All the runners are different.
Graze has about 6 variants with at best minor differences
Graze Custom II
That's only 4. Stop counting the same kit being released in different scales as different things. The AGE Vagan and Federation suits had more of the part-reuse thing you're complaining about than IBO.
Barbatos: unique mold
Gusion: unique mold
Kimaris: unique mold
Gusion Rebake: unique mold (they actually redid the entire ass/shield)
Man Rodi: unique mold
Hyakuren: unique mold
Hyakuri: unique mold
Every fucking kit except the Graze kits are completely different.
>other semi-realisitic things
You mean like ramming your ship into another and it not harming yours at all?
A big problem with these thing that people want and IBO has is it doesn't commit or think them all the way through especially on how the world as a whole should be. It just sort of half arses the idea and calls it a day, for some that ends up being enough. They could be really cool if fleshed out but like a lot of IBO it seems like no one really cared
>we get this grueling Okada melodrama
Really it doesn't even do that so well. It is very plain melodrama
>kept watching the trainwreck for the semen demons
>one turns out to be a hardcore lolicon
>the other is getting NTRd by his little sister
>How can everything in this show be so objectively sad, but I just don't care about any of it?
Because contents != execution
For some reason idiots can't even begin to understand that.
That's it exactly. It's like, they took the basic building blocks, but then either mishandled or completely dropped them. And the worst part is that if they end up deeming the show a flop, they can use that as an excuse to never touch those elements again.
The problem with Graze's frame is that most kits that used it were just Grazes with extra shit slapped on. The impression is that there's not much to do with Graze's frame. At best you can hope for Grazetank for something different.
With Gundam frames you do get variation from basic Gundam like Barbs to fatass Gusion and knight-like Kimaris. We get the impression that the Calamity War Gundams can be wildly different.
>HG Kimaris and Gusion
They share a whole inner frame, Rebake reuses Guisons part
>b-but it has a few different
Vast majority anon
and another thread posted about how Kimaris will also get a redo
You missed that the Graze had a Char and Garma version and the normal graze has a Ares
I don't like the show much at all but I have bought several of the kits, I think for people that truly enjoy gunpla as a hobby the design of the suits matters much more than how much they are featured in the show. That said, I have no idea about people who only enjoy them more casually or basically as figures to relate to the show.
Seems a bunch of people here believes that melodrama in Gundam appeared with IBO. The whole fucking franchise is largely a very bad written melodrama, hidden brothers/sisters and MC falling in love with a character five minutes after meeting her and five minutes before she is killed by the other side. The whole. Fucking. Gundam. Everytime. Since 1979.
The main complain about IBO is that it never went beyond throwing ideas around while consistently refusing to give any substance to them. It's all poster and devices. Hell Barbatos is nothing but a poster poser.
IBO really suffers from failure to launch. Which annoys me cause people will go back and say the first few episodes were good but no it was the promise that was to come with them
And yet what are some of the most popular fights in the franchise? Ones where the mechs got torn the fuck up, usually by devolving into brutal melees. Meanwhile anything that shits out beams by the ton is derided for it.
>And yet what are some of the most popular fights in the franchise? Ones where the mechs got torn the fuck up, usually by devolving into brutal melees
Give me an example not from 08th MS Team.
Hyakuren and hyakuri actually share some runners.
For the HG, Gusion doesn't use the gundam frame parts that the other gundams do in order to make the design work in HG form while keeping parts down. The 1/100 uses it though.
The kits don't share any parts. They look similar, but use entirely different molds.
>pounces on and corrupts the new guy so he can vent all his frustrations and pent up desires
Yes please, alright I'm back in. Plus I gotta see that ZOE looking prototype they showed off a while ago in its full color.
>They share a whole inner frame, Rebake reuses Guisons part
No they fucking don't. THEY DON'T SHARE ANY RUNNERS BESIDES POLYCAPS. The "A" runner which has the runner that contains the internal frame is fucking different on every HG IBO Gundam.
Rebake does not use Gusion parts. Bandai completely re did the mold.
>you missed that the Graze had a Char and Garma version and the normal graze has a Ares
Those are just recolors you're talking about the ones that are part variants. Also, those are p-bandai and aren't part of the normal HG lineup for numbering.
do you even own any of these kits or have at least looked at the instructions? Neither of those 2 share any parts besides visually looking similar. Dont' backpedal and say they share polycaps.
If you look at the kits, the rebake shield has a couple of altered surface details (Such as the raised ridges on the top and bottom and the thruster grooves are more shallow). It's a new molded part.
Schwalbe Graze 1
Schwalbe Graze 2
Hyakuren and hyakuri share parts of the frame
The gusion rebake has barbatos armour
barbatos and kimaris share frame parts
only 100% unique kits so far are Man rodi and Gusion
>The "A" runner which has the runner that contains the internal frame is fucking different on every HG IBO Gundam.
Kimaris is reusing the barbatos frame based on the promo pics the rebake is as well. The kimaris has an extra frame part shoved over the shins of it though.
The Graze and Space Graze are the same kit HG #2, you just move the position of the thrusters between the ass or the back. Are you thinking of the Blue colored Graze, used by the Ares branch?
The Scwhalbe Graze is only 1 kit. Galeo's P-Bandai release just includes the lance runner in the MGS Option Set 01. You can make your own Galeo graze by buying a scwalbe graze and MGS Option Set 01 and purple paint.
Barbatos and Kimaris don't share runners
Gusion rebake doesn't have any of Barbatos' armor, they are all unique, but look similar
Why are people acting like reusing runners is something abhorrent that only IBO is doing? This is standard for gunpla releases. The graze kit is being reused a shit ton but that's about it.
>there will never be a 30 minute single episode high-budget OVA of a Zaku II being built from start to finish with 0 dialogue
Basically this https://youtu.be/libw1rV2McY
It would be the most pure /m/ gundam product of all time
We also should consider this next to other series
Greco had 1 variant of the jahannam. There were then 3 G-selfs. Counting P-bandai puts the variants up 3 more. Outside that every kit was vastly different
Even if you want to try and argue it down to well IBO only reuses a few thing sometimes it is still a fuck load more especially when those aren't P-bandai
omg you fucking retard look at the A runner on the HG Barbatos and the A Runner of the HG Kimaris, THEY AREN'T THE SAME RUNNER.
> it has to be intentional that a facial expression so minor you have to zoom right in to the point that you could count the individual pixels making it up just to be able to see it isn't that detailed
Are you being intentionally dense?
G-reco had a shockingly low amount of mold reuse for a gundam series' kits. AGE, 00, and BF all had a large amount of mold reuse, most of the kits shared runners in some way with at least one other kit.
Bandai's molds are modular. Its the exact same parts, just rearranged differently to create a "New" runner that uses the same parts without wasting plastic on unused parts from the previous kit. The frames detail and design of the kimaris is identical to the barbatos. The mold parts have just been rearranged so that you don't get things like barbatos's mace on the kimaris kit.
The "Runners" are different, but the molds aren't. Bandai uses modular frames and CG models for the parts. Even assuming somehow that they had to create a completely new mold for the frame, it's teh exact same CG design placed onto the new spot. The best example I can think of is for the miss sazabi. They created new runners by reusing the CG models of the original hguc sazabi kit, which is why that despite using a newly created mold it has the old sazabi proportions and identical parts.
The modularity you're speaking of for runners means that certain sections of a runner are turned on or off for different variants. However that means Part 13 is still going to be Part 13 on the variant runner and it's also going to be facing the same direction.
That's not the case here. Bandai made a new mold for this.
>The "Runners" are different, but the molds aren't.
I think what you meant to say was the Runner and molds are different but the parts are the same. You can't have a different runner and say they are same mold.
Probably that, yeah. Based on the review pics and manuals the parts themselves are identical in design and engineering, so it's probably a case of "We reused the part models, but made a new runner mold for them".
So it's an odd case of reusing the parts across kits, but not the specific molds.
Teaching the kids how to read comes to mind. Tbh I wish they would've continued with that, it would've been nice to have seen the kids (and Mika) making progress with their education, and coming to respect Kudelia as a teacher. It would have also given her a better role than "useless princess"
Crap, I'm running into the issue of "Mold" having a sort of double meaning of being the parts shape itself and the physical mold that you make it with.
Yeah, that's what I meant.
Why would they bother doing that? Surely it would needlessly cost more money. Are you guys sure they can't have different numbers cause I don't remember ever getting a kit that didn't have the right ones
The barbatos runners with the frame parts on them have things like the all the weapons on them as well which take up a good chunk of plastic. The kimaris seems to compress all the frame parts onto one runner by itself and I wouldn't doubt that the rebake is going to reuse the same exact A runner as the Kimaris rather than the barbatos's. And with the barbatos runners already being used towards the long range booster kit it may have justified making a new runner for the other gundams to use that don't have the excess weapon parts and second runner needed to make the frame them using up plastic.
This is interesting
It seems then that at best IBO is saving a bit more than other series with stuff like he graze but for the most part it will have been as expensive to produce gunpla as other shows
I think what he is trying to get at is that by rearranging the parts you need to create a new runner mold, which makes it not as cost saving as reuising the existing mold.
It's still saves time and development costs though. I'm still a bit suprised that bandai reusing parts and molds across kits is surprising to some people and generated so much discussion. They've been doing this for years. IBO is just the most recent in a long line with G reco being a weird exception with how little it reused parts.
Who could this mysterious long haired stranger be?
Then again, the revealing the colour doesn't always go well. The Rebake looks like an unfinished Resin kit
Seriously who chose that colour? even if it was a desert MS you'd go for a different colour
>It debunks the conspiracy theory that there's less gunpla cost
Not him anon but no it doesn't and the is still a very high amount of reuse, it just isn't as much as people were saying. Even if you can argue parts down to only 4 grazes that is a fuck load for even the zaku clone
I certainly hope not so soon. Otherwise we'll be running out of stand out villains.
>Based on the review pics and manuals the parts themselves are identical in design and engineering
Looking at the parts now, even the ones that look like they are the same are different in some way. Like the mounts for the shoulder armor have some additional pegs on the kimaris frame vs the barbatos even though are the same at first glance.
It looks like the chest frame parts and the forearm parts are the same parts just molded on new runners. Everything else about Kimaris' frame is new, which is a lot of parts. Makes sense why they made new mold.
a fuck load compared to what? Zaku clones? Other non Gundam grunts?
The literal zaku clones, the Zaku warrior had way more.
Zaku Warrior Lunamaria
Zaku Warrior Concert version
Gunner Zaku Warrior
Zaku Phantom Heine
Zaku Phantom Dearka
What about the Flag and Enact?
Enact Demo type
Ali's Blue Enact
Anon we are talking about kits. Only 3 flags got kits. 6 Zaku warriors did though which is also a fuck load and if IBO keeps it rate up it could match (there was at least 1 new one in the new OP)
Mostly to screw over Nobliss?
Fumi a Char?
May the Char destroy the space rats
