Have you sworn loyalty to the Socialist Unity Party of Germany yet?
I've sworn loyalty to Genossin Brehme, does that count?
I'll take my chances because Beatrix is worth it.
I've sworn loyalty to Hauptmann Irisdina.
When do we show these stasi dogs our metal.
Shit, I didn't saw there was a new thread while answering.
Too bad it's a shoop.
Just opened in Photoshop, zoomed in and you can clearly see the area have been smudged.
What an amateur work, the artifacts are really not that hard to reproduce and would give him a way more believable look ( Could always be uncertified, but it would be much harder than just closely looking at it ).
There's not actually that much money at stake but rather the financial solvency of the company. Which still doesn't make jewish as fuck moves like splitting a game in two and selling it for double the price defensible.
>give us more stories set in the months and years after Alternative's final victory in Operation Ouka.
That will pretty much immediately obsolete the current expanded universe though, so Alternative 2 still sits somewhere beyond the horizon after they finish everything else.
Kind of hard to invest when you're selling off everything you can and restructuring just to finish what you're working on.
We don't know what the arrangement is but you can basically assume MAGES probably effectively bought age at some point in the last few years, at the very least they're joined at the hip.
I'd appreciate some input from a novels reader.
How will they break down seven novels into only twelve episodes? No matter how you slice it, at least two volumes will have only a single episode to cover them.
Can anyone provide some overview of what each of the seven novels covers, and which novels are primarily useless fluff like swimming pool visits and snowball fights that could be easily cut?
Don't start this man.
If you read the translated portions of Volume I, you'd already know that they've botched pretty much all the character introductions.
My guess is they'll compact the nuances characters have, showing only their domineering traits and leading to a lot of exaggerations, kinda like the KGNE anime. Metaphorically, the LN characters would be like fine wine, while the anime is going to be like grain alcohol.
They will probably jump into the rebellion way faster. What people are leaving out in their massive bitchfits is that the Stasi are a background presence for a big chunk of the LN/VN story (Beatrix barely even appears in the first game) but they're being introduced in a very straightforward fashion very early on here for a reason.
It's still going to be a pretty much "this thing happened" level adaption though, like Black Bullet and Madan no Ou to Vanadis that crammed 4 and 5 volumes into 12 episodes respectively. Anyone watching this expecting any kind of depth is kind of insane. I've already made peace with the fact Kirke will barely show up only to let people know she exists.
>randomly look at Uchida's twitter
>turns out it's the anniversary of the Stazi HQ being stormed
>WE STAZI NOW
>That will pretty much immediately obsolete the current expanded universe though, so Alternative 2 still sits somewhere beyond the horizon after they finish everything else.
I don't get your point. You mean that Age will suffer as a consequence of releasing sequels in the Alternative universe?
Not much really. Characters gotta feel or taste the same, which they don't in the anime. Even if they totally changed the plot, so long as the characters felt like they should, then it wouldn't be much of a problem. It's kinda hard to describe, it might just all be psychological. Maybe someone who watches the anime first and then plays the VN or read the LN would be able to provide a better analyses.
I have a question about the Kickstarter. Apparently the deadline for apparel stuff has been extended to the 20th, but somewhere else on the forums it says that if you order an apparel item (I'm getting the TSF Pilot jacket) that as long as you get it before Backerkit is closed In March/April you can still order the item, it'll just be shipped later, presumably with all the figs and stuff later in the year.
Am I understanding this right? It'd be much more convenient for me if I don't have to scramble by the 20th. I want to change banks before I order it, so its possible for me to pay it now, I'd just like the whole baking thing to go through first.
Schwarzemarken seems fun so far, I hope the VN gets translated at some point, because I prefer reading the source material. Not sure who's best German girl just yet.
I ask this question again: what's the fuel for TSF and where is the main powerplant(s) located?
Going by the first episode, this thing has way too much drama and snow.
Was this written by Fred Gallagher?
I don't know if we've ever had a decent explanation for how functional they actually are without jump units. If you actually look at the things front to back the back hump goes much higher than the cockpit block and the Shiranui cutaway has some other block in there, so that's probably where whatever shit besides the jump unit engines is.
And even then not every jet got legged.
It's sorta arbitrary which ones made the jump, unless there's a plan to make TSFs of every plane from the F11 onward due to that weird bit where Tiger I comes after Phantom and even the F-5 if I'm not messing up my family tree memory. Long story short the Crusader is in an awkward grey zone in Muv Luv, where it could've been the last of the jet fighters or an early TSF precursor for all we know.
Also worth mentioning is the one exception to the rule about bombers not getting made into mechs: XB-70's not-exactly-a-TSF alternate universe incarnation, the XG-70.
>If you actually look at the things front to back the back hump goes much higher than the cockpit block and the Shiranui cutaway has some other block in there, so that's probably where whatever shit besides the jump unit engines is.
Apparently, the area that I painted over with green might be the engine.
The d is a fairly legitimate robot but the b (which is the actual plane equivalent) is just a big pile of nothing.
The final Susanoo is like some sort of unholy mini-Macross anyways.
You've forced me to consider the fact that ero voice acting is pretty much dying. Maybe the internet has contributed to people not wanting the association when it's so much easier to get found out but there's also so much fucking all ages shit out there these days between old eroge developers going all ages, low budget anime style video games, and app games out the butthole that it's usually not very necessary for anyone with much of a name.
Omigawa (allegedly) is like the only seiyuu I can think of under 30 to do it, the people who are going to be taking over anime roles from Shizuka Itous and Yuu Asakawas are never going to get into adult voice acting.
If Age had planned this better, they'd follow up the anime with the VN. Instead, they've delayed it until Winter, when the advertising power of the anime will have greatly waned.
Oh they planned it perfectly, they just didn't execute for shit. Anyways the first Vita port will probably come out around the right time which is arguably more relevant (eg. Majikoi anime ended up promoting the PS3 port)
Well I've never cared to bother with that game but her character sure has sex in it. Nanjo is an old eroge seiyuu (usually as Aya Tachibana) but she is a crippled obaasan at this point.
Although KimiIta 2012 is a weird game given they got Kumiko Watanabe to stay on for it.
It would have been worth it but they outsourced all the new art to Chinese children.
The BackertKit will end around March. Bou-sama will be providing the first sketches of the dakis designs by end of February, so I expect the BK to end by either the first or second week-end of March.
Shiranui was good, but sometimes those shoulders turn me off for some reason.
Despite how long it has been, I still hold out hope that one day we'll have an official design for the A-12
So this combined with what they said on muvluv.moe probably means that Schwarzmarken *and* some other VN (maybe TE) will be translated. Worst case we have Schwarzmarken and TE, best case they use this money to higher permanent translators and do everything and all future content.
Or its a dub.
>>In an alternate universe where the fallout of World War II led to a global split that left East Germany and West Germany in charge of the entire left and right hemispheres of the earth, the real war is only just beginning!
>>In 1967, the space race resulted in contact with the hostile ALPHA aliens hiding out on the moon, and their assault on a world too freshly divided turned the earth into a frozen hell!
>>Now specialized squadrons from East Germany, otherwise known as the German Democratic Republic, are dispatched to try and clean up the battlefields with mech-driven heavy artillery, the Robotic Assault Drones, RAD!
>>The 666th squadron, known as the BLACK REAPERS, are the strongest in the corp, but their integrity may be under threat of compromise thanks to infiltration by the evil Stazis, who want to turn the war into a vehicle for East Germany's supremacy over the world!
>>Captain Teddy Ableback, fearful of such an outcome, begrudgingly enlists the help of West German transplant Katie Wallham to turn the tide of this global disaster and save the Earth from the alien threat once and for all!
>I initially approached Schwarzesmarken with trepidation. I've heard mixed reviews of its predecessor, Muv-Luv Alternative (of which Schwarzesmarken serves as a prequel), and its setting in East Germany raised red flags that this could easily be more conservative propaganda masquerading as a military otaku harem show.
>The unit is where the anime takes its name which is the German word for “666.” This sort of “scary” Christian imagery will seem tired to Westerners where every B-level horror film about demon possession has invoked 666 at one point or another. That said, I can't help but associate military units and vague religious icons with Nazism, especially ones shown committing mass executions. Schwarzesmarken is just toeing the line
If I recall, the recently-released LD10 may have an answer to that.
>ML gets into SRW
>but TE only so no Takeru
>instead Setsuna quantum bursts the BETA and dialogues them into leaving Earth, with the ELS helping him to convince them since the BETA acknowledge silicon-based life
A video where two germans with Japanese and History majors analyse the first episode of SM in how German it is.
It's actually really interesting so far ( I'm only 20 minutes in because fuck, it lasts for 50 minutes ). Lot of details I didn't know about, even if I like History.
If you are interested the actual explanations begin at around 6 minutes, the rest is just some presentations of both guys and ML in general.
>durhur older models why don't they make a new model of helmet in this war against aliens
Are they daft? Even in the real world in the PRESENT we have people in the army using ancient shit from WW2 because there isn't enough funding to go around to equip everyone with the best shit. The military in ML is moving to TSF combat, why would they waste limited funds on making new helmets for infantry?
Well I can safely say they're going to adapt all the volumes.
They really rushed through everything and skipped a lot.
>not liking Beatrix
go get eaten by BETA
I'd expect the Iris shitflinging to start ratcheting up with this scene.
What the fuck are those BETA in the top right corner ?
Reminder that Mel is always and forever the best girl.
Being late because Cheburashka is a piece of shit that's always breaking down is one thing, how are they supposed to explain sitting around drinking tea instead of, you know, keeping the defense line from completely collapsing and letting the BETA into Berlin.
Even if the defense line broke there was a backup plan.
The rest of the NVA reserve forces would have been rushed to the area and along with the Stasi MPs they would restabilize the line while the Stasi would complete their objective.
Because they're EVIL. They don't need logic or rationality because they're EVIL!
I'm not sure if I'm remembering right but in the VN they were on the field but just waiting.
Since Stasi and NVA upper command is different they can just lie to each other and the excuse was of course mechanical problems
Did they remove the airspeed indicator from the HUD shots so that they wouldn't have to make the mistake that TE made of having even the most modern TSFs struggle to break 300km/h?
She's literally female-Gihren, just even more evil, less pragmatic, and more sadistic. This shit is getting ridiculous.
I'm pretty sure its because Satelight was putting the wrong numbers. For example the high speed chance between the Scarlet Twins in their Su-37 Terminator vs Tarisa in her Active Eagle was going a lot faster then "220 km/h".
She is a whore who fucks BETA for pleasure.
Yeah, I know she was mindbroken and was later put out of her misery by Takeru, along with all the others who were captured by the BETA when they assimilated the carrier.
her hesitating in the OP and the fact that they cut away when yoiu hear the gunshot makes me think that she wasn't the one who shot him. anyone who has read the novels/VN/BIS could correct me but is it possible that
Iris, Jurgen and Beatrix get caught in some big mess (maybe Iris is the reason they get caught) and Jurgen takes the fall to protect them. the Stasi still suspect Iris so they force her to execute Jurgen with Beatrix being made to oversee it, Iris is unable to kill him and jurgen, as his last wish, begs beatrix to kill him and say that Iris did it to save her which she does. this would explain why iris never denied killing jurgen and why Iris and Beatrix hate each other so much, Iris hates that Beatrix was able to kill her brother and builds further on the jealousy of her not being as good as Beatrix as she was able to do what Iris couldn't. Beatrix simply feels that Iris is responsible for what happened
Jurgen and Iris were involved with anti-government shit, Stasi found them out, Jurgen had Iris rat him out and kill him so she'd survive (they already knew at that point anyway). Beatrix is mad that Iris killed Jurgen and that they didn't let her know anything.
Rather convoluted if you ask me. The anime is likely to remove the whole romance/ childhood friendship shit in BiS if they cover it. It'll likely be that Beatrix was just some sadistic crazy lady who couldn't take Iris being better than so she framed / forced Iris to rat out Jurg (basically making what Theo thinks canon).
Everyone? Don't tell me you've never heard her do this kind of voice before?
you guys know what to do

SCHWARZESMARKEN TSF pilot Theodore Ebelbach is today exposed as a secret sado-masochist sex pervert.
The brother of infamous Stasi member Lise Hoenstein is filmed romping with five hookers at a depraved STASI-STYLE orgy in a torture dungeon. Ebelbach— a friend to Schwarzesmarken big names like Katia Waldheim and Irisdina Bernhard— barks ORDERS in GERMAN as he lashes girls wearing mock DEATH CAMP uniforms and enjoys being whipped until he BLEEDS.
The TSF pilot brother of Hoenstein, who is a pal of Heinz Axman, plays a concentration camp commandant in a FIVE-HOUR torture chamber video.
Ebelbach—the most powerful pilot in Schwarzesmarken—barks orders in German as he WHIPS two hookers dressed in striped uniforms reminiscent of AUSCHWITZ garb while girls in Stasi uniforms look on.
At one point the strapping 18-year-old—who publicly likes to give the impression he has put his sister's evil legacy behind him—yells "she needs more of ze punishment!" while brandishing a LEATHER STRAP over a brunette's naked bottom.
Then the lashes rain down as Ebelbach counts them out in German: "Eins! Zwei! Drei! Vier! Fünf! Sechs!"
With each blow, the girl yelps in pain as grinning, red-haired Ebelbach becomes clearly aroused. And after the beating, he makes her perform a sex act on him.
Before hammering away at the girls he plays a cowering death camp inmate himself, having his GENITALS inspected and his hair searched for LICE—mocking the humiliating way Jews were treated by SS death camp guards in World War II.
Then, head bowed and tied up in chains, he is interrogated by a dominatrix before being chained up and LASHED so hard over a TORTURE BENCH that he WHIMPERS for mercy and has to have a wound dressing put on his backside.
His capitalism-hating sister—who had Axman as guest of honour at her birthday party—would have been proud of her warped brother's command of German as he struts around looking for bottoms to whack.
But even the vile Stasi fascist might have been less impressed with the sordid company her adopted sibling keeps.
Ebelbach's appointment with his hookers was at a smart 2million mark riverside flat on East Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg at noon on Friday.
Our investigators obtained a graphic video of his sick antics.
The girls arrived first, led by the main dominatrix, a stern-faced blonde, carrying a suitcase laden with whips, chains and uniforms. Half an hour later, Ebelbach turned up wearing a smart overcoat and suit after making the short walk from his nearby Prenzlauer Berg home.
After paying £2,500 in cash, Ebelbach was ordered by the head hooker to strip as she played out his sick fantasy.
"OK, undress," she snapped. "UNDRESS! You are going to be punished to be shown how we treat prisoners in our facility."
As his white Y-fronts hit the floor, the powerfully built blonde barked out her orders: "Lie face down! Don't look at me!" Ebelbach meekly obeyed and was chained and manacled before another blonde dominatrix, wearing only a jacket, shirt and knee-length boots, entered the room.
As another hooker ticked off points on an inspection sheet, she roughly scrutinised his head and private parts before demanding his age. "I'm 21," he whispered, lying to attract a severe beating. He also lied about his name, saying he was called Yuuya Bridges, so the punishment would be really painful.
His flogging over, he left the room before saying, "Thank you, mistress". After having his wounds dressed, Ebelbach makes the transformation from masochist to sadist. Now fully clothed, he bends two blonde girls over the whipping bench, their striped concentration camp-style uniform bottoms yanked down to expose their buttocks.
He converses in German with one girl throughout the torture, loving every minute of death camp role-play, while the other girl pleads: "I don't know what you are saying, so I don't know what to do."
Humboldt-educated Ebelbach has refused to condemn his sister who was considered so dangerous she was interned during the war. He once said in an interview: "She is wonderful as a person. But I don't think my sister would have made a good Stasi agent. She talked tough but, fundamentally, he was too soft."
Whereas her brother is a hard man—especially when it comes to beating girls' naked bottoms. One of the hookers is strapped into a gag to stifle her screams as Ebelbach lays into her backside in front of the other four girls. With a Stasi swagger, he counts each stroke in German before having sex with his ‘victim'.
After the sex marathon, Ebelbach dressed again and had a quick pit-stop, turning down wine in favour of a cup of Beatrix fanboy tears. At 5.05pm, he put on his overcoat and disappeared into the blustery afternoon to resume his other life as Theodore the respectable TSF pilot who will be participating in the laser jagd in Hohenschönhausen next weekend.

>Well I can safely say they're going to adapt all the volumes.
I was hoping this would be 2 cours. So far it's been enjoyable at least but it feels like it needs time to let the story stew and develop.
Reminder that TE sold 40k and age never deigned to make a second season. They're a really cheap company and Kouki hoards what profits they do get for his cars. Frankly, I'm surprised that they mustered up the effort to pony up enough money for TE to have 2 cours. Guess its success told them they could be even cheaper with SM, hence it only getting one cour.
Made the screen transparent for y'all lazy people.
>making a second season of a mediocre selling trainwreck of an anime because the game sold okay
None of this works like that.
And at one point you are gona run out of stashes of old ww2 helmets that you might have removed with newer models years before.
If we gona go by this then we should see T-34/85 and SU-100 and other world war 2 tanks in defensive use.
And? The entire point is that there's nothing odd with militaries using outdated equipment, even more so when put in a situation where it's harder than usual to produce new stuff, especially if it's going to be for the fucking infantry when they want to mass produce giant fucking robots.
Are you retarded?
And just for the record
I was IN the fucking military and my entire platoon was armed with fucking M16s from the Vietnam War probably because we were never expected to use them (we didn't)
So no, it's not fucking surprising that a country with far less money to go around would have troops still armed with old equipment you brainless fuck
>Are you aware that the actual Nationales Volksarmee still had T-34/85M tanks in their arsenal for reserve units in the mid-1980s, just like several other WarPac countires?
That's why I made that point yet we have not seen them.
Welfare queen I see.
You can always tell someone has no fucking idea about anime sales when they use the combined total.
None of the volumes without an event ticket sold over 5.5k. Considering we're talking about a robot anime that's pretty much treading water. Given there's minimal promotional value to ring out of it from a second season (only new releases are the manga adaption) it's just not appealing over doing something new.
Holy shit I'm ready to take back my gripes about the show's CGI.
It's a bunch of small isolated bits but the movement of the TSFs suddenly feels on the ball.
I mean it wouldn't wow anyone here since it's not high octane combat but they've got the taxiing aspect conveying the right mix of bulk and grace, good on them for a zero budget show.
Seriously, I'm fucking impressed.
I agree, the CG aint so bad.
It's the moment you see the Fishbed swing its sword into mount that I pretty much jizzed my pants.
I mean I'll have to scrutinize that the hand didn't exactly convincingly twist the sword properly and instead had it magically rotate a few degrees without appropriate hand movement but otherwise the way everything moves and is visually portrayed has just the right amount of motion going on, and that stuff is borderline pornographic.
Remains to be seen if it's a fluke or not, but at least episode 2 will stand out as the one where they got things right, at least in my eyes.
You can always tell someone is autistic by a reply like yours. How much money do you think age or Kouki actually funded the TE anime project to Satelight in the first place if he has to go out of his way on his own twitter account the week before the last episode airs near Christmas time to say "Hey, its true we basically gave Satelight a shoestring budget".
5.5k a volume is fucking above average by today's market in any standard you throw at it.
CG in anime always looks wonky to me because of how choppy each movement is. Why is this always the case? Does it have something to do with the limit of frames everything gets animated in?
Sometimes it's just low FPS, others it doesn't mesh well with the 2D art and characters. I think SM has been doing pretty well with the latter at least, and decently with the former.
One school of thought believes that excessively smooth CGI clashes too strongly with regular animation, and that it's better to enforce a uniform framerate of sorts.
It's something to be evaluated on a per work basis, as it's not the framerate that matters so much as scene direction/composition.
Mind you, about a decade ago people would just as likely shit on CGI for looking too smooth because herp derp CGI a shit too videogamey MUH HAND DRAWN. It's arguably a more recent development that smoother = better with CGI, a retraction of the behaviors shown back in the Gonzo years.
Literally the only thing I would have changed would be maybe the camera shaking a bit when it first steps off its cradle.
Aside from that, for a series of this budget, its damn good.
Shoestring budget is relative to the content. It was obviously a a cheap as shit robot anime but that doesn't mean it still didn't cost more to make per episode than something without tons of CGI and action sequences.
How the fuck do you think age has the money to just fund an anime on their own because? Why are you bringing up something four fucking years old like it has any relevance anymore?
artificial limitation, they have the same FPS as the standard non-cgi animation.
personally I can take CG animation being a bit stiff when it comes to robots/machines but it when it comes to human character it will always feel off to me, the new anime, Ajin, is a prime example of that
Depends on the CGI studio in question and the director and the lead animator.
Not him, but it's true. For a tangentially-related feeling, I got the same vibes from AgK. Both have this really "2000s" aesthetic, and not in a good way. You could pluck them out of time and drop them off in '04 and they wouldn't be that out of place. Even TE at least had a 'modern' feeling to it of its time, though a low budget one.
How does the process work? Are the cg animations done at literally the same frame rates as the hand drawn stuff? Or is it done at something higher and then blended with the 24fps-whatever frame rate non-cg animation?
What's up with the constant comparisons to AgK, even in stuff that's not even related to Beatrix or deaths? True that AgK had an early 2000s look, but I disagree about SM, it has a very unique look and color palette that's rarely seen in anime. And you're using nostalgia glasses for TE, I don't know where you got that "modern feeling" from.
I'm just asking because it seems to be a general consensus here on /a/, /m/, 2chan, and other parts of the internet when people talk about its visuals and animations.
It gives off a dated appearance with the character art style used for the adaption that doesn't help things. So is it another low budget adaption?
What exactly is "very unique" about the art style or the color palette that makes it so rare in anime? Because I really really REALLY don't see this uniqueness to it at all for the visuals.
>captcha: radiant 2003
Hell if I know, I didn't watch Shake 'n Bake like the majority of people who pretend they know how the industry works.
But if I remember right, I think you can still render animations in 3d modelling programs as a series of individual images. If it were me, I'd pick and choose frames to go along with the drawn scenes, dropping a few to create the illusion of a lowered framerate. Or something.
How does that suggest they could afford a second season?
If you gave SM the same budget as a CGDCT show the character animation would inherently be cheaper (read shittier) to account for needing to budget for all the CGI action sequences.
That's why LN adaptions are so rarely ambitious since they can't get the money to do these sorts of more plot-centric complicated to animate source material well.
Photoshopfag reporting, here you go Irisfags, now you have a shoop with her.
And here is the Pronhub page image if you are interested, I had fun faking it but unfortunately I couldn't keep it readable as I was processing it.
Maybe for the drawn stuff but I really don't know where to put the CGI in light of episode 2.
And even in ep1 the CGI wasn't 2000's level.
I mean, there's a certain look to that shit. Very underdeveloped in the textures department.
What rebuttal? I'm no artist or an expert on the matter at all, but it's pretty rare to see an anime's art take advantage of its unique setting like this. It has a genuinely great atmosphere/mood. Since you didn't provide any examples like I asked, I assume you just agree?
The story is actually pretty decent so far though, the pacing is just a tad too fast, and it's suffering most from one-dimensional antagonists (though they've barely appeared so far). That seems to be what source material readers have been complaining about anyway, they just get more pissy due to lack of faithfulness.
>Retweeted by MLTeam

Go kindly fuck yourself, casual shit faggot.
If only ML could have never brought cancer in the community by getting animes.
A few months back we got a huge translation dump of interviews with Urobutcher and he was denying responsibility for that so hard (saying it was all Kawamori) it was hilarious.
>-(Upon the interviewer saying that Blasswreiter is "Urobuchi's Kamen Rider"): He says that when Itano came in, while he was still writing, he let Itano decide the entire setting and how things would go. Blasswreiter is thus Itano's ideal hero story, and so he thinks of it as "Itano's Kamen Rider". That the show was half Kamen Rider and half Ultraman was also Itano's doing. He thinks Itano wanted to do what he couldn't in Ultraman Nexus, and mentions how Itano complained frequently about how there's something wrong with Kamen Rider these days. Urobuchi's Joseph was originally a talkative guy, and it was Itano who changed the character into what he is.
It's painful watching this given how silly everything is. Their strategy in every fight seems to be "stand there and get surrounded." Rockets do nothing but a single bullet from the mech will kill. The Stasi and the whole political situation is so laughably impossible. This show must have been written based on an outline they made when they were in elementary school with lots of cool sketches of mechs surrounded by bugs.
>Like the US Air Force after WWII
>not becoming their own separate branch immediately after WWI
I mean... the rocket hit the hand. I don't think that would kill a Tank. And the mechs have 36mm chainguns - that's nothing to laugh at.
Though this show is pretty silly. It's so melodramatic. You'd think East Germans trying to hold off an apocalyptic alien horde would be dramatic enough...
Still an extremely misleading filename though.
To be fair to the .webm poster, I remember it being only mentioned in passing that the NVA has been rolled into one single command, since their air force no longer has any tactical fighters, the bombers are just flying trucks for explosives, they have no resources for a combined aerospace force, and what little plans they ever had for the Volksmarine has been all but abandoned in favor of keeping the Army functional.
By the time SM starts, the "armee" in the Nationale Volksarmee is probably literal.
I wouldn't say "easily", depending on what point in the timeline they "unite", but they sure wouldn't need to keep counterplanning against each other so much.
Like, say, using an entire military base as a free-for-all pie-flinging arena. How many sides were involved in Yukon? The normal Soviet/US militaries, the Soviet esper corps, the CIA, the UN armed forces, RLF, Allegiance, Master's faction?
I'd say that if you went in the opposite way (ambivalent to mecha, liked love harem) you'd hate Muv Luv.
You only need to tolerate love harem aspects for the first 10% of the ride, then it's pretty much all MECHA
Bit disappointed how even though it's 20 years before Alternative and they're driving Eastern Bloc designs instead of American/Japanese designs the TSFs still look more or less the same on the inside.
I'd have hoped for example that the cockpits might be more cramped because they haven't had twenty years to miniaturize, they might use seatbelts instead of fancy back-mounted locks, the seats might be less ergonomic, the joysticks might be a different shape, they might have sound only communication instead of Skype because older radio equipment and heavy metal cloud interference limits bandwidth, the cockpit interiors might be painted a different color, and so forth.
You greatly overestimate how long Extra is.
Maybe if we're just talking about Extra and Unlimited, sure, 40%, but taking Alternative into account, Extra's bullshit is hardly 10% of the main series.
> DAT image
oh god my fucking sides.
i never pass through that stage at all. any advice to clear lvl 3?
If you want realistic Soviet Aesthic, the cockpit would be painted "THIS COLOUR WAS DESIGNED TO CALM YOU" teal and there would be a little fan for the pilot
And trust me, I wish it was like this.
I fucking love that colour
>THIS COLOUR WAS DESIGNED TO CALM YOU.
As ridiculous as this sounds, apparently this is why. Same reasoning for Douglas Aircraft on the DC-9 apparently.
Not to disagree, but you have to imagine that if they incorporated this--which would be nice--this might also suggest older (and possibly less fanservicey) pilot suits, which would be an issue I guess....
Why does the cute blond pilot always get abused? Jesus christ. First she get slapped so hard she falls to the ground, then she gets slaps and kneed then we have the mc straight up choke throw her.
Is this a fetish or something?
The one thing I'd add as well is to regress the fortified suit to something still resembling a fabric flight suit. Maybe the plastiwrap technology would show up as an in-development advancement in g-suit harness technology as well.
There's a small shopping list of things that I'd love to retcon for flavor choice about Muv Luv during the early years of the Alternative timeline though.
Are you by chance implying good old fashioned flight suits aren't sexy?
Anon, do you have Schwarzesmarken?
I'm lost link from mega.
Actually, sexiness value aside, I'd vastly prefer that. And there is something about a woman in a well-fitted G-suit anyway. I just think you couldn't get away with it in Muvluv.
She's a naive as fuck little shit who for some bizarre reason defected to East Germany. Of course everyone's covering their asses being mean to her. More than likely she could get you killed in wrong situation.
Well, they've mixed three or four different much longer scenes from the VN together to create that scene. Actually, I thought it was pretty ingenious how they replaced Gretel slapping Katia with the later Sylwia beatdown while also incorporating Ketchup's intro together with Beato's even if I think a lot of the other anime original shit is complete nonsense.
The fact every single TSF in the entire world in 2001 used the exact same cockpit should probably have told you how little intention they have of ever varying from it.
They are older pilot suits. Schwarzesmarken is aesthetically pretty much on par with what's in Chronicles Atonement 10 years later. (green HUDs, blockier pilot suits), which is maybe not totally unreasonable because 1983 is right at the tipping point where modern machines like Tomcats and MiG-23s are coming out and Schwarzesmarken are one of the entire Eastern Bloc's most elite units. If they were still flying craptraps they wouldn't live long enough to tell a story about.
>listening to /a/
I oughta put you in a firing line, boy.
Can someone tweet this guy telling him that Balalaika was a real nickname for the MiG-21 that even Wikipedia knows about? I can't be arsed to make a Twitter account just to tell someone off on planefag history.
You got a point here, it seems ML threads are not kept up on /a/ anymore.
I just hope there is always more of us /m/ans than /a/nons here.
If you are going to correct every fag on Twitter, you won't have enough of one life to do it.
I've read parts of the LN, and it just kills me when someone uses anime original content to bash either Irisdina or Beatrix.
I think you may be thinking about anime original material wrong here. The previous times age had anime adaptions a shitload of that content ended up in the games. If it's an outright addition it's liable to show up again.
Iris shooting Jurg is an outright retcon, so is Beato not showing up (late) to save the day.
Ah fuckit. If they do that I'm getting off the SM ride. Iris isn't anywhere near as endearing, and Beatrix is a sadistic monster cackling as the stasi cripple the DDR for the evulz.
I read the LN. I really like Beatrix. The anime is telling me that she's a female Oskar Dirlewanger with all the character depth of a fruit fly. I also really like Iris.
But yeah, I suppose I am being spastic. I should probably drop Beato and pick up another gril. After all, she was probably always meant to be the hatesink of the show and the worse thing since elevator music (or so I hear on /a/ nowadays).
The anime is being panned in Nippon right now, moreso then the KGNE anime. It'd be kinda risky for them to incorporate some of it, especially with an prequel series still in publication and a VN down the road.
Beatrix is the most evil person in the show. She'd probably be murdering everybody if Axmann wasn't there to stop her. She basically has the depth and personality of a Bond villain. If she wasn't hot, you'd hate her.
>unironically waifuing Beatrix
>responsible for breaking Lise
>has Pham and Sylwia raped
>petty, jealous cunt
>literally the most evil person in ML, more so than Sandek, Fagiri, and the Master
Literally kill yourself.
Okay and I like Yuuya and Yui better in the VN, where for a relevant comparison Sven's death is covered in much more detail (and slightly differently) and makes Yuuya look fairly vindicated and slightly heroic and Leon actually look like a dick. So? (or better yet Phoebe is a complete waste of space in the anime but super cute in the game and Lida is okay in the anime but fucking painful in the game)
Nobody is gaining anything from you obsessing over troll posts specifically meant to bait you, least of all yourself.
>that start button
What even happened to that screenshot
Speaking to my heart man, speaking to my heart.
>googling for something else
>come across this shot on the wiki as "F-22 EMD Phase 2, Desert paint."
Jesus Christ kids
I think the big problem, the reason why a lot of people are throwing a bitchfit, both over here and over on 2ch, over Beatrix is that for the past half year or so, there's been a big push to make Beatrix sympathetic and waifuable. Heck, Kouki talks about her all the time on the streams. We've been seeing a lot of her good points so people feel a bit of dissonance when the anime slams your face into how bad she is.
I'm still adopting a wait and see attitude. The anime is far from done, and I won't pass judgement on any of the characters like many other VN/LNfags are wont to do. She could still turn out to be a complex character with her own motivations and redeemable qualities, just like any of the other characters.
And Beatrix is mai waifu, so there
Deluding yourself with unjustified hope is the true waifufag way.
My MiG-21 kit just passed customs in my country, only a couple of days until it arrives now.
>Gotta get that masking tape out since there's no decals for the camo
Yeah I've been thinking about how to approach that. Do I make my own version of the splinter pattern or do I try to copy the exact same pattern shown on the box?
I guess the latter won't be to hard.
I really need to start building all the TSF kits I've bought
This reminds me, I should recast that chibi Takemi and paint it all kinds of colors.
So you know I have this crazy idea that what really matters for an anime version when the others exist anyways is that it does the things that only an anime can do well. You're not going to cram the full depth of a 40 hour story into 6 hours and fuck if you should try but the things the game has to cut because they can't show them well are things you should really try to do so that the combined works benefit.
So as long as we get stuff like the hangar sequence which outright expanded the Muv-Luv setting and the overall feel is maintained (fuck these chaingun sounds though) things are...okay, I'm getting something positive out of this (I think I'm more bothered about flat out skipping over Kurt saving Katia and Pham than Beatrix's DRAMATIC ENTRY, probably because they can't be arsed to model tanks this time). But hell if the cheap as shit character animation isn't a distraction. OP was a letdown too, I kept expecting the song to pick up again and it never does.
Also I am guessing the people bitching BUT PEOPLE WHO WATCHED THE ANIME WILL RUIN IT FOR ME are massive hypocritical faggots who have only been here since TE in the first place because it's way too damn late to start complaining about that like something new. (of course these are the people spamming spoilers everywhere and ruining the games for people, so yes, they are said faggots)
Why can't the space rats be in this universe instead where the vermin are not infesting Gundam?
