Eh, that's fair enough. I mean, I thought it was decent as a kid but if they wanted to establish it shouldn't they have struck while the iron was hot? The trailer does seem interesting, but I fear it will be a "person trapped with psychos" movie with the monster at the very end. Like, I don't want the whole central conflict to be against John Goodman and the other guy.

So it's going to be dead on arrival? I can't imagine they can build up any significant hype up for this in just 3 months. Cloverfield had all that ARG shit and keeping the monster hidden for so long going for it. Movie itself may have been average but the whole thing was an experience that for a lot of people was unlike anything they've experienced before.

And what's with that name? How do we know this isn't just some unrelated horror/thriller movie JJ or some other suit thought was not going to sell well on its own, and then decided to stick the Cloverfield name into it to help sells?
