That's not entirely true. Though that presently exists for fps's, there is such a thing as elegance. The idea being that a simple refined concept with well executed detail provides a straightforward and aesthetically pleasing design. MGS does this in spades every re-incarnation is a little more complex but Yoji Shinkawa knows how to wonderfully balance the aspects of his designs. 343 is just Lazy/clumsy/stupid enough to put the time in.
