Chris best daughter
Previous Thread: >>13738460
>So what was the point of Hibiki's dad?
To make everyone mad. Now shut up and post more Chris.
Carol has dad issues, so Hibiki goes through the same thing to tie their plots together.
They just forgot to actually take the time to show topdad turning into less of a shit, so everybody hates him.
He literally just goes "WHEN YOU'RE ABOUT TO DIE YOU REALLY UNDERSTAND WHAT'S IMPORTANT" (with no accompanying revelation flashback to even try and sell that) and does a total 180, it's shockingly lazy.
Mostly likely he was original supposed to just stay a piece of shit and Hibiki actually learning something. As for Carols dad his focus was clearly a dropped plot point, I suspect we were initially supposed to see more of Carols past.
Basically the whole thing is a huge mess but no they are not parallels. Maybe that's what they were trying to attempt but it didn't even come close.
Friendly reminder when discussing Topdad that he literally did not apologize to Hibiki once. He didn't even say he was sorry for making Hibiki foot the bill on that meal. I know some of you might have blocked it from your psyche.
Chris as two girlfriends already.
Any of the Gear users liking a guy would ruin that character in the eyes of her fans. Let it be someone like Tsubasa and kill the series. It wouldn't even make sense for any of them
But they are at home there
>Any of the Gear users liking a guy would ruin that character in the eyes of her fans.
>It wouldn't even make sense for any of them
Teenagers, hormones. What doesnt make sense? Though I can never ever see Tsubasa ever doing something sexual.
Purityfags? Every Gear outside of possibly Chris is linked to another girl with even the staff shipping them.
>Teenagers, hormones. What doesnt make sense? Though I can never ever see Tsubasa ever doing something sexual.
It doesn't make sense because they're all linked to girls and haven't shown any interest in any of the male characters on the show. It wouldn't make any sense because the staff ships the girls together so suddenly introducing a male character would go against that.
Why wouldn't the opinions of the people who voice the characters and make the show matter? The fuck are you saying?
This sounds like a case of people wanting a male to show up so they can self insert. Should he be called Yuuta or Yuu? What would his gear be? Would Miku be okay with sharing Hibiki?
Not him but it's kind of a stretch to say Chris, Maria, Tsubasa are linked to another girl the way Hibiki or DMJii is after GX. And they explicitly make all the males middle aged in this anime, not that I think it should change.
It doesn't affect shit.
>someone, somewhere actually thought Persona 4: The Musical, featuring the Fire Emblem Pantheon from the Fire May Cry Series would be more successful than a game of chess using demons or a jrpg using pegasus knights set in tokyo
Jesus Christ, chill out.
It's not a parallel, they were tied together in ep 2 when Carol said that she inherited the task of destroying the world from her father and Hibiki gloomily says that her father didn't leave her anything. Then later as you I'm sure can recall with anger, Hibiki's dad tells her to remember the magic words he taught her, heiki hecchara and Carol shows up taunting Hibiki about her father's inheritance. The way that this was set up in episode 2 makes me think that he wasn't supposed to remain a piece of shit but god knows the ending we got was a mess.
Incidentally immediately afterwards carol trots out her magic word--rululira--but I dunno what to say about that. A little parallel if you want it?
Come to think of it the parallel might be that way back in the G keyword about Hibiki's dad, the persecution of the concert survivors and therefore Hibiki's family, is described as reaching a point that it was like a medieval witch hunt.
So both their families were unfairly treated but where it went from there was quite different for the two of them. Anyways does it have to be parallels? Overall its thematic even if the related conclusion to it was really poorly handled.
>Boys ruin shows
>Any male character is just for self insertion
>All the girls should be paired with other girls
Not only are you a yurifag, but you're actually the worst kind. This isn't /u/, but feel free to go back there.
Reminder to anyone that knows moon, that Kaneko actually tried tying things together by using the verb 託す when topdad threw the pendant to Hbiki. I'm fucking blown away by how seriously he takes that god-awful plot.
It doesn't matter. To try to tie the weight of a life-long mission to something topdad gave her, then realize he literally gave her nothing but a catchphrase she used to deny reality, only to then physically give her an object that she needs in that one moment because of retarded plot contrivances is absolutely abysmal writing.
The characters are literally the only good thing left about the series. What they need is a good conflict, and no more character development outside of making friends (without a heaping serving of angst) and Hibiki learning to face reality.
>The characters are literally the only good thing left about the series
I could literally do without Maria, DMjii in the main cast. They're nice for occasional appearances but they suck.
I want to strangle Hibiki after GX. Why does she need to face reality when Kaneko is writing it so her goals come true?
Why don't you just watch other anime if you want a new cast? It's not like Symphogear's story or animation is anything special anyway. If they change the cast but keep the VAs then might as well they make a new anime altogether.
>To try to tie the weight of a life-long mission to something topdad gave her, then realize he literally gave her nothing but a catchphrase she used to deny reality
Carol's life-long mission was denying reality.
Good thing you don't run the show here, since FIS is amazing.
Now you're projecting. No one said boys ruin shows. They ruin shows that shove them in for no reason other than self insertion. All the girls are shipped by the people who make the show and the fanbase so don't get upset your waifu is shipped with girls. Go to another franchise for male characters. Infinite Stratos is missing a fanbase.
I liked Maria a lot in the first half of GX when she was developing naturally and they weren't trying too hard with her characterization and development. She fell right into her niche, and then they took it away. You're dead on with DMJii being kind of useless and Hibiki being insufferable after GX, though. That said, Chris, Tsubasa, Miku, Genjuro, Oogawa, the anime janai trio, and all the other supporting cast are great, and if they fix Hibiki, Maria and give DMJii a purpose the cast could really shine.
But her dad gave her a real mission, and a noble one at that. Yahrnam hunter papa did nothing wrong, it's not his fault his daughter was a shit. I really feel like they were going to do something more with him after those first couple of flashbacks. Shame we got what we got.
No she wasn't you idiot. They always had a senpai-kouhai relationship. Only idiots with their goggles on as tight as you think they were romantic.
Crack-kun shipped Chris and Tsubasa. Let that sink in. You're literally as stupid and delusional as Crack-kun.
>Chris literally refers to her as senpai
Sorry, I didn't know you were a master of the nuances of Japanese culture and could diagnose relationships that well.
Tsubasa has been in SONG longer than Chris has and graduated ahead of her. Tsubasa will always be her senpai. That's how it works. Senpai-kouhai doesn't mean master-servant, and it's not based on how much respect people have for you or how good you are at your job either.
>>all relationship developments are inherently romantic
Where did I say that?
"Considered" isn't definitive. You can think of them as being equals, even though technically they're still senpai/kouhai.
I'm not even the original starter but the argument was:
>Tsubasa and Chris were shipped in the show
>They were treated as senpai-kohai, not romantic
>Yeah, they became closer, it's romantic
If they pull another topdad in season 4, I cant say I would want this series to continue. It's had a decent run.
Where can they fucking go? I mean, noise are the reason that the symphogears exist because they are the only ones who can beat them. And Noise sucks. I'd love more anime original nana projects like symphogear and cross ange.
But GX got me so mad.
>"Considered" isn't definitive.
Yes it is. Stop pretending like you have any idea how it works so you can insist your perceived understanding of senpai-kouhai is the correct one.
Yes, because she was ready to let Tsubasa into her life, and the relationship they had meant that when they got close, Chris could call her senpai and rely on her like one. A lot of Chris's development in G was learning to trust Tsubasa and furthering that relationship. That's why Chris trying to become a senpai and guide other people made sense logically in GX, but was executed so horrifically that people hated the end result.
>Yes, because she was ready to let Tsubasa into her life, and the relationship they had meant that when they got close, Chris could call her senpai and rely on her like one.
Yeah. The show always treated them as equals since Chris's first appearance, and her moment of weakness at the end of G is the only time Chris stooped and admitted to stooping lower than Tsubasa.
The only times they have anything close to the relationship of senpai/kouhai are a few moments at the end of G and the first episode of GX. Then GX episode 6 openly made them equal again.
I mean yeah it wasn't great but it wasn't bad. The last few episodes are completely worth it and include best moment from best girl.
You do realize that senpai/kouhai doesn't mean one is worse than the other at anything right? It's literally just Tsubasa is older than her and has also been at SONG longer, you're attributing significance to it that's not even there and turning it into a huge deal for no reason.
>Yes it is. Stop pretending like you have any idea how it works so you can insist your perceived understanding of senpai-kouhai is the correct one.
Let me fix my mistake here. "Could be" considered.
>The show always treated them as equals
>made them equal again.
Good fucking lord, how can you misunderstand what a senpai-kouhai relationship is this much? Could you at least pretend to talk to a Japanese person instead of getting your understanding of their cultural norms entirely from anime? It's nothing close to the "I'm better than you and you're below me" system that you're painting it out to be.
>It's literally just Tsubasa is older than her and has also been at SONG longer
That's not what a senpai/kouhai relationship is. You can have a senpai/kouhai relationship without any organization or group involved at all. It's just that one is more knowledgable or skilled and looked up to because of that, which isn't true in their case. Since Chris's reveal, she's always has been as-good of a fighter to the point of putting Tsubasa in the hospital, and they always have snarky banter with neither looking up to the other. The only time she looked up to her was when she felt she fucked up trying to get the Cane.
>The show always treated them as equals since Chris's first appearance
What are you even talking about anymore? Do you even have anything to back that up?
Could be considered as equals. Senpai/Kouhai isn't as black and white as you're making it out to be either way.
>You can have a senpai/kouhai relationship without any organization or group involved at all.
No shit sherlock, I was explaining what it was in the case of Chris and Tsubasa. It is not mutually exclusive with them both being good fighters or friends.
>Senpai/Kouhai isn't as black and white as you're making it out to be either way.
Yes it is. Have you ever actually been to a Japanese school or place of work in your life? What's with your obsession over being equals? Senpai doesn't mean "mysterious badass older person who guides me through life's mysteries and saves me when I'm in danger and then gives me awesome advice and a pat on the head." Stop getting your information from anime.
For the sake of my own sanity this is the last time I'm going to reply.
Being a senpai and kouhai does NOT in any way imply that they are unequal, if you're still going to argue that you're just being retarded on purpose. It's literally as simple as Tsubasa being older than Chris.
>Do you even have anything to back that up?
She was the rival character in season 1, or did you forget that time that she put Tsubasa in the hospital?
You can have a senpai/kouhai relationship with neighbors, and you can not have a senpai/kouhai relationship with an upperclassman and lowerclassman. Or are you forgetting that the word "relationship" is in there, and that it requires specific inputs from both parties? Like them even acknowledging that one is a senior and one is a junior?
>I was explaining what it was in the case of Chris and Tsubasa. It is not mutually exclusive with them both being good fighters or friends.
My point is that these two do NOT have that kind of relationship. They're equals. The show treats both of them as the upperclassmen of Hibiki while saying that these two have similar power levels and experience. They're both senpai, but neither are kouhai.
>What's with your obsession over being equals?
>Senpai doesn't mean "mysterious badass older person who guides me through life's mysteries and saves me when I'm in danger and then gives me awesome advice and a pat on the head."
>implying I said or even suggested any of that
Are you just looking to argue? Is that why you're so god awfully bad at it?
Tsubasa put herself in the hospital, if you don't remember. Tsubasa was in a suicidal state and wasn't fighting her best.
Once Tsubasa got out again with her new mindset she walked all over Chris in their fight.
Tsubasa is Chris and Hibiki's senpai
Chris and Hibiki are Tsubasa's kouhai
Chris is DMJii and Hibiki's senpai
I'm sure you've watched ten whole animes and are an expert on japanese culture but this really isn't a complex concept.
>Or are you forgetting that the word "relationship" is in there, and that it requires specific inputs from both parties?
It doesn't though. You're objectively wrong.
>implying I said or even suggested any of that
Sorry, I didn't realize you and the other idiot who's bringing up their skill in battle are different people. Regardless, you're wrong.
>Is that why you're so god awfully bad at it?
That would be you, who is literally making up definitions for words in a language you don't speak. Here you go, sport:
That's what it means. Feel free to keep making an idiot out of yourself.
>Tsubasa put herself in the hospital, if you don't remember.
She was forced into that position by Chris. Chris won.
>Once Tsubasa got out again with her new mindset she walked all over Chris in their fight.
You mean the G fight where they called off the match?
Good for you, you've learned a definition of senpai. But that doesn't mean all of those pairings have a senpai/kouhai relationship. Relation, sure, but not a relationship.
>It doesn't though. You're objectively wrong.
Way to back that up. You sure disproved me.
>Way to back that up
I linked the Japanese dictionary, you idiot. I speak Japanese. I've spent time in Japan. I have friends in Japan. You're pulling "facts" out of your ass based on a few battle shounen you've watched. You're retarded.
>Relation, sure, but not a relationship.
Oh, oh I see where this argument has stemmed from
"Relationship" doesn't mean romance you fucking idiot
And you're still wrong. The dictionary link only defines what a senpai is, which we've already established is true. But they don't have a senpai/kouhai relationship. Chris doesn't act like Tsubasa is a senior and Tsubasa doesn't act like Chris is a junior. Since their first fight, they've seen eachother as equal.
You know relationship means more than fucking, right?
>I don't think I act like my older brother is older than me, so that means he's not actually older than me
Ok retard-kun, keep on pretending you understand what you're talking about. Next time you're in school in Japan try telling your upperclassmen that they're not your senpai and let me know how it goes.
>Tsubasa is her senpai
>But they don't have a senpai/kouhai relationship.
>thinking that just because someone is an older brother means that you treat them like an older brother
I like how you're still completely ignoring my point and trying to crawl back to that "b-but she's older" bullshit. We've established she's older. But Chris doesn't act like Tsubasa is older, and Tsubasa doesn't act like she's the older one. They both just act.
He thinks Senpai/Kouhai is some magical relationship that plays out just like in all of his animes, and if it doesn't play out like he imagines it does based on said animes, then it isn't actually a senpai/kouhai relationship.
Only in /sgg/ would someone be so stupid that he'd say Japanese people don't know how to use their own words, but they do based on cartoons they watched.
It's not necessarily about who is older, either, but who has "seniority". You could be younger than someone in the same club as you but still be their senpai if you were in the club first.
>I like how you keep defaulting back to immutable facts, but that doesn't mean you're right
>I don't think they act like a senpai and kouhai should (despite not actually knowing what it entails) so it doesn't count
Ok. I'm done.
According to anon, you're only senpai if he thinks you're acting like one. Arbitrary things like who joined first don't matter.
>I don't think they act like a senpai and kouhai should (despite not actually knowing what it entails) so it doesn't count
Well, it doesn't. If two brothers are estranged and never knew of eachother's existence until they're in their 70s, then when they first meet they just treat eachother like normal people, according to you they still have an older brother/younger brother relationship.
>According to anon, you're only senpai if he thinks you're acting like one. Arbitrary things like who joined first don't matter.
No, I agree with that anon. Fucking Chris could be senpai to Tsubasa, if she acted like it. Just neither of them do towards eachother. A kouhai/senpai relationship is mostly based on either one looking down, one looking up, or one doing each. They have to acknowledge the seniority.
>Chris could be senpai to Tsubasa, if she acted like it. Just neither of them do towards eachother. A kouhai/senpai relationship is mostly based on either one looking down, one looking up, or one doing each. They have to acknowledge the seniority.
You actually had me going till just now. Splendidly done.
The point and fact of the matter is that senpai/kouhai is ENTIRELY arbitrary, and based solely off those arbitrary factors. Tsubasa is senpai to Chris just as immutably as she is asian. It's a fact, not a concept.
Only later at a few points. Otherwise, she doesn't. It's called development.
>Tsubasa is senpai to Chris just as immutably as she is asian. It's a fact, not a concept.
We've already been over this. On paper, yes she is her senior in SONG and in school. But neither of them act like it, and since we're talking about their personal relationship and not rank, she's not.
I guess as another example, Topdad is biologically Hibiki's father, but he stopped acting as her father and they didn't have a father/daughter relationship again until the end of GX.
>I guess as another example, Topdad is biologically Hibiki's father, but he stopped acting as her father and they didn't have a father/daughter relationship again until the end of GX.
>They don't have the 'relationship' so it doesn't count
If you have the title in your possession the car is fucking yours, anon. It doesn't matter if you stop driving it or loan it out.
>Yer contradicting yourself a little
No, because we're talking about the entirety of G.
The original discussion between the two other guys was that people shipped Tsubasa and Chris during G before Tsubasa/Maria started to get shipped by the show in GX.
During all of G until the last two episodes, Chris doesn't treat the relationship that way, and Tsubasa never treats it that way, which is my point.
Then they barely share any screentime in GX to change that, except Chris calls Tsubasa "senpai" once in episode 1, and then episode 6 is them fighting as on-level partners.
>If you have the title in your possession the car is fucking yours, anon. It doesn't matter if you stop driving it or loan it out.
Yes, you have the car, but that doesn't mean you're a hot rod junkie that tricks out his car or that you're fucking the exhaust pipe. Genjuro's more of a dad than Topdad was, and he's not related to any of them except Tsubasa as her older brother. He's the one that had more of a father/daughter relationship.
Having a title and performing the actions to maintain the stereotype of that title are two different things.
>"Actions speak louder than words" suddenly doesn't mean anything
I want to do many things with Itaba only some of which I'm comfortable sharing.
I want to do things with Chris that should only be done at home
We can throw a blanket over it.
Or just, y'know, take it to the bedroom. That's what it's there for.
Maria actually felt natural shouting orders on the bridge and occasionally showing up for back up. She could just be like Chrono's mom or something.
DMJii frankly have no place in the story and their forced presence is like a weight dragging the entire cast down. Relegated them to SoL with the occasional fun bonus song would do wonders.
DMJii can stick around if they become actual goddamn characters at some point
I started reading this thread then I remembered you should really stop making this thread.
I want to be Genjuuro
Strong, fit, still a bit dorky, friends with basically everyone he meets, gets to hang out with the Gears and congratulate them on their missions and successes and gets to be a surrogate papa for Chris
Only downside would be having to live my entire life on the bridge of the submarine
and having to watch Tsubasa after Kanade's death
And the threads will stop being made when people stop posting in them, don't you have a Toku thread to bitch at or something?
In what way did you think that overly defensive insult made sense?
People will just keep image dumping and "I want to x y" posting to keep the threads alive anyways.
Actually I was image dumping so the thread wouldn't solely be filled with that retarded argument. /m/ isn't very fast, one thread usually lasts the whole day and there's still plenty of discussion as well as the rest of the BDs, OVAs, the Live, and inevitable S4 announcement to wait for.
Hell we're faster than /srwg/ most days since all they've had for a while is a shitty mobile game and "OG3 when?"
It's a ridiculously fast thread by /m/ standards but in a way that's kind of the problem. Can't /u/ or someone take the endless relationship shitposting that will inevitably end up filling chain threads?
Then again I suppose the alternative is probably just people crying about GX for another two years.
The threads are pretty chill besides the regularly scheduled retarded argument. Which a decent amount of the time seem to be started by the same shitposter, the mods will catch on eventually.
Fuck I love this scene so much
We haven't got proper SoL since the culturual festival from G. We con considerar SoL some things in episode 1 like "do that at home" with HibiMiku and Chris and the beach scene in episode 7 but Kaneko had to put the Garie fight and the introduction of topdad so well, that kinda fucked the episode. I know it's difficult since all the characters are introduced but Fine only revealing herself around episode 10 to the MCs besides Chris was great. Ver was also good since he was that based. Carol was very meh.
I fucked it putting "con" instead of "can" and "consider" in Spanish. Well, I think it's great for Chrisfags to understand Spanish, you wouldn't need to understand Japanese to speak with her.
>ignoring Chris' zenbu in favour of her ass
Such superior taste.
>apparently Aoi's favorite sailors are Uranus and Jupiter
Does she have good taste?
She mentioned something interesting. Fine is pursuing new research. She claims what they're doing in S.O.N.G. is the missing piece, a booty to surpass Sympho Gear.
Codename Bikki Butt.
Anyone got the full/finished version of this? I was waiting to save it again until the guy said it was finished, but then he just kinda stopped without saying if it was done.
But she's a Wingthatfliestorwardsherdreams now.
>I told you, it's chossee to do it that way. Bring this value here, double it and then yassai mossai yassai mossai
>I don't understand what senpai's saying at all DESS
Moon word is takusu, and it means to entrust someone with something. Usually it's got a bit of weight behind it, for example, in this picture Serenaaaaaaaa is entrusting the Airgehtlam to Maria. That's pretty heavy. Carol's dad told Carol to go learn about the world. That's a pretty big fucking deal, and that's the life's mission he 託す'd onto her. Kaneko was very eager to draw parallels to topdad, and Hibiki constantly whined that her did didn't leave her with or entrust her with anything. During episode 11 in his redemption scene, the entire plot bends over backwards to give him a chance at helping Hibiki to redeem himself, and when topdad somehow gained reflexes and quick thinking that can outdo both Hibiki and Carol (remember that even Genjuro didn't step out onto the battlefield with them once this season) he tossed the the pendant that fell down. Hibiki's line used the word 託す when she said "He gave me something!" Watching it, that scene just went ahead and cheapened the concept for the sake getting topdad in on the action. Kaneko went ahead and equated the lifelong mission of a peace and medicine loving alchemist to Hibiki's dad literally throwing her a rock because he had plot armor and her and Carol had plot retardation. Basically, it was the big pottery moment for them, in the same way that Tsubasa had her pottery moment with "You would dare call these swords?!"
If you speak moon, hearing that line and realizing he was trying to tie everything together like that in that one moment was like getting slapped in the face.
When did it go from poetry to pottery?
This reminds me I once compared Tsubasa to kintsugi.
At least tsurugi ja nai had the kazanari autism silliness factor offsetting the dumbness, and was actually pretty cool looking. That line sounds completely reasonable considering which character used it. The topdad redemption was just plain hamfisted rather than hammy.
>I'm cumming in that booty
You only say that because you aren't a cute girl who gets princess carried by Hibiki.
Close, but you forgot the kki.
That is correct, my friend.
Bikkisexual is the best way to go.
At least we're lucky she got a Figma.
But she looks much cooler transformed
while still having a bit of lewd but not that obvious
If she does end up getting a bunny suit figure and nothing else I'd buy it out of desperation then fly to Japan to beat the shit out of whoever designed it and whoever wanted it made into a figure
Lets look at the facts from S1-GX. Between the giant laser tower that almost destroyed the moon, the giant explosion over japan that was stronger than several nukes (Or the whole FIS incident in general), the cut down the middle of K2, and the giant hole in the middle of Tokyo it's no surprise by now that SONG (And by relation Japan) isn't exactly in the most optimal position in world politics.
International Relic War is the only feasible route for S4 to go (Aside from Custodians), which could either lead to a slew of new geahs and/or a new Relic-based monster thing. The big questions are what other countries are involved and who are each of them fighting. Is it Country A vs Country B with SONG thrown in between to mediate, or Everyone vs SONG as SONG becomes public enemy number 1?
As for countries, the US is a bit fucked in Symphoverse but they could still have some of Ryoko's studies somewhere and something American enough to make into a Geah (They could bullshit Geronimo's hatchet for an axe gear, but something dumb like the pen used to write the Declaration of Independence could work). The Dark Continent is definitely up to something with Ahnenerbe being name-dropped, so they've got some stake in this. Russia and China are the only remaining big powers, and with Shenshou Jings being as common as they are we could use those as the MP Gear/mook enemies to replace the Noise.
Also someone post putingear.jpg, I don't have it saved even though I posted that months ago
The Russian loli hates the Symphogears because they are too gay and she wants to bring Chris to her side.
The American loli tries to convince Chris to nuke South America as revenge. And then build a wall at home.
The USA could even have a custodian ship that crashed in Roswell and reverse engineered something of it or something.
China territory its probably crawling with Relics, they could even have a new fodder to replace the Noise inspired by the Terracota Soldiers Army. The Tomb of the Emperor could even be something Frontier Tier.
Europe its also full of Relics to pick up from.
Not to mention you have stuff like Atlantis to pick up from too for more Mediterranean territories.
You just reminded me of Nobunagun.
I don't know why everyone automatically assumes American Gears would need to use American tools when there aren't even any weapons in what barebones mythology that America has. Why wouldn't it be the same as every other Gear in that the culture their Gear comes from is relatively unimportant?
But I doubt that Kaneko would be able to do a battle royale series (even if it would be a cool idea and would work wonders on actually testing the morals that it's been following for the last 3 seasons) unless he was given around 50 episodes to work with since even if we're assuming 3 factions with USA and Europe getting minimum 2 Gears that's still way too many songs and characters to try and squeeze out.
> The Yankee is the Pantheon of the spirits of American folklore who play a role in Scion. The youngest of all the pantheons, yet the ones brimming forth with the most vigorous energy, they took their first major role in world affairs during World War II.

Knowing this is symphogear, the russian loli would totally be one of the gayest and the 'shinai would have lots of jokes mocking that fact.
Extra points if she had Fine genes that made her an exhibitionist into S&M.
Which geah is a cat person and which geah is a dog person?
Getting the obvious response out of the way.
Chris would probably get something fluffy like a Sheepdog
Hibiki is the type to fawn over and coddle a stray kitten and get bummed out when it grows up to ignore her.
Wasn't the whole relic thing about the fact they actually have their own powers and functions? Durandal wasn't a hunk of rust, Nehushtan was fully functional battle armor, etc. The gear relics were broken ones. You can't just name an artifact, it has to be one you can bullshit powers into that isn't a plain old mundane object.
But that will only attract people with lewd intentions to it.
A specific set of people, but it will.
I am still flabbergasted to this day that sacred mormon underwear is a thing. In real fucking life.
She's just retarded enough to believe in incestual space jesus, so you may be onto something.
She's the self-insert of the series after all. Just responding the way any of us would.
A lot of the mythology in Symphogear (and Wild Arms) amounts to nothing more than set dressing. Durandal's mythology would suggest it is indestructible and can also be used like a spear (long hilt, some myths make it the same as Hector's sword Durindana that he extended the hilt because he liked to throw it like a javelin) but in Symphogear it functions primarily as a strong sword. And Gungnir's "never miss" thing which was its only real gimmick in mythology isn't even referenced in Symphogear.
Also they added a ton of stuff to Airgetlam despite mythologically his sword is just a strong weapon that sometimes glows. Also it, Igalima, and Shul Shagana are named after figures instead of weapons which is weird.
The closest that they get to some bonus touches that tie in with the mythology is Ame-no-Habakiri's lightning and Ichaival's combat style tying in with the "fire ten arrows" thing.
>And Gungnir's "never miss" thing which was its only real gimmick in mythology isn't even referenced in Symphogear.
In Gungnir's defense, it's not even a complete relic in Symphogear.
In Nehushtan's case its powers are also spot on with the mythology, which was a item for healing and in the show whoever wore it had regeneration powers.
They missed in that it was an armor in the show instead of a staff.
Just because I am cruel, I decided to post Chris in a wedding dress and remind all Chrisfags she will never marry you or exist in the same dimension at all.
Tsubasa's sword is pretty long.
there is no such thing as too fluff, any animal could use more fluff
>no Gear stuff from Wonfes yet
Surely it'll be shown soon.
>all these shirts and dakis
>textiles actually get tariffed which also means actually getting hit by sales tax and the flat handling fee added on too
At least the Tsubasa cycling shirt is slightly disappointing.
SEASON 2 CONFIRMED
Scanning an entire daki is a lot more daunting than I thought. Only got one side done. Even though I tried my best, there's still some odd specks of debris that showed up; it should be fine to edit those away first right?
Here's some more of his stuff.
He's also done an Asuka comic that's on sadpanda if you look hard enough
I like to know if the characters are enjoying it, and with how doujin artists draw, facial expressions aren't always as telling as they should be.
I'm also a sucker for true love, so seeing the characters repeatedly yelling "I love you!" as they finish gives me an orgasm of the heart as well as of the dick
Heartboners are the best boners
> So how are her fanboys going to react when Chris gets a girlfriend in S4?
Same as everything else Symphogear? A lez pairing is far from out of the ordinary.
And aside.... It's rather odd that GX seems to have left Chris to herself while on the whole "ships". Why do you think that happened?
I guess, it's just that the production angling for Tsubasa and Chris in G seems to make a bit more sense to me... Chris is likely still adjusting to having something resembling a normal life, and her interactions with Tsubasa seem to have some form of chemistry between them. At worse, there is enough of a bond from G to make those two rather talkative friends in GX... but that seems to be dropped completely for angling Tsubasa with Maria, with this rather cobbled together "supportive girlfriend" arc.
I don't know, it just seems sloppy to me... am I alone in that thinking?
> The staff aren't crazy /u/ fags who think every female needs to be shipped with another one?
You are talking about a franchise that has all but said that Hibiki is a lesbian... and that is not even getting to Miku, Kirika and Shirabe.
They might not be shipping like crazy but given everything that that happened thus far... they don't need to get crazy, unless they start involving Biki's friends out of pure boredom.
>people seriously think there is any kind of canon pairings when S1 was all about Hibiki and Tsubasa and G ended up with Chris and Tsubasa doing shit just because they had to do Gungnir/black Gungnir and DMJii and they interacted as allies for like 5 seconds in S1.
I wish this cut had never happened.
Symphobattle Design Update
- All of the Symphogear user Traits done.
- Alchemist Traits descriptions on the works.
- Items & Equipment section layout done.
While working on the vehicle sections I realized something, What the hell happened to the cool as hell VTOL thingy FIS had?
They could have used it in GX it was super well equipped for a medium sized vehicle.
Also on the same note if you guys had your own Geah team, what would be your Team deployment vehicle be?
I would go for a heavily modified Chinook Helicopter myself.
>Also on the same note if you guys had your own Geah team, what would be your Team deployment vehicle be?
Orbital drop, all day every day. Much more efficient than more conventional means of transportation if there's a sub orbital base of some sort to fire pods all over the place.
>mfw someone near me says Chris could beat Tsubasa in a fight
Perhaps, but that would kind of be odd to shift like that now. Symphogear yuri-teases a lot as a sub-plot to things. Personally, I view it as a bit of a writer's crutch to do that but I would also say that if they attempt to tone that down then it is a void in the narrative that needs to be filled with something meaningful.
I don't think that the production team has skilled writers to attempt to do that, but we'll have to see if/when S4 happens.
The two haven't ever had a regular match.
That clip comes from one where Chris spent more than half an episode fighting already and got a Sudden Impact straight to the solar plexus.
And she still impressed more than Tsurugi
No plot armor or contrived stupidity? They're on par with each other. Chris and handle Tsubasa and close range, and Tsubasa has plenty of long range attacks. Chris is gimped for anime fights because she uses guns, and showing named human characters getting hit by guns never happens because God forbid they show someone get hurt. (even though they all jam)
>Chris is gimped for anime fights because she uses guns, and showing named human characters getting hit by guns never happens because God forbid they show someone get hurt. (even though they all jam)
She may have gotten it back but Hibiki got her arm ripped off front and fucking center of the screen, with viscera spraying everywhere. They can get away with Chris pegging named characters directly a few good times.
Hibiki's arm showed generic "body fluids" spraying for a second, and she immediately grew it up. Bullets put holes in people. They will never, ever show that happening in the show. It's really depressing because Chris had some great noise fights in season 1, but they'll never show that against a named humanoid.
Actually when Chris fights Miku in G you can see her land a few shots on Miku with both her guns and her missiles, I guess the Symphogear phase armor protects them from attacks, kind of how the Noise are protected from regular weapons.
Although I also remember Chris saying she was holding back.
Blunt hits are ok. Biki punched Chris, Chris kicked Biki, blunt weapons are used for hits. Laser beams are generic "wears them out" damage. Those happen all the time. Cutting weapons are pushing it and gets used a tiny bit, but full cuts and bullets never really hit main characters.
Even then all you see is an explosion with nothing else.
They still did the fountain effect to cover up actually showing the wound. Besides, that entire thing felt incredibly lame when she grew it back a minute later.
>Although I also remember Chris saying she was holding back.
Miku is one of the few human beings who actually talks to people, listens to them and cares about them (Before GX, anyways). I don't think anyone had it in them to hurt her.
Yeah Chris said it was "hard to fight her as she owed her a lot".
Still Shensoujin was a pretty mean Symphogear
- Hover Mode
- Remote Weapons
- Huge Beam laser
- The Fan Melee weapon thingy
- a Relic Slayer basically
Wonder how it would stand up against non-relic enemies like the Noise, Alca-Noise or the Autoscorers
I would have been very handy against the Faust Robe I'm sure
>Wonder how it would stand up against non-relic enemies like the Noise, Alca-Noise or the Autoscorers
I imagine that much like all battles in the show, the outcome would be determined by which way Kaneko needs the plot to move in at the moment.
>giant sword form like Tsubasa
>giant sword dive kick combo attack
>Symphogear yuri-teases a lot as a sub-plot to things.
HibikiMiku and DMJii were already items before they became major characters.
If anything, the whole Maria and Tsubasa bits are just the yuribait, non serious crutches.
DMJii's whole character is being lesbians, which is why they are shit. HibiMiku have been gay since the beginning.
That's a good fucking portion of the cast and screentime devoted to it.
I dont think it would be an oddshift at all since Chris and Tsubasa got none of that in season 1. I dont see why adding any more would be good looking at DMJii. This shit is supposed to be musical precure.
Season 4 is going to be shit. They cant fight humans because of Hibiki and Noise sucks.
You also have the other Dive-Kick Combo that didn't even get flashy attack name card.
>I dont think it would be an oddshift at all since [...] Tsubasa got none of that in season 1
Have you actually forgotten about Kanade? I know we joke about it a lot but you seem to have really done it.
>Season 4 is going to be shit. They cant fight humans because of Hibiki and Noise sucks.
My dad knows Kaneko. He told me that season 4 is when Hibiki almost gets herself and other killed over her idealism (again) and then Kanade comes back from the dead, takes Gungnir and saves her.
The rest of the season is Kanade, Tsubasa, Chris and Genjruo going full hotblood mode and defeating evil human enemies with lances, swords, bullets and martial arts.
That didn't stop 100% of Tsubasa's motivation and development in S1 being based entirely around Kanade to the point where Kanade had to ghost visit her and tell her to chill the fuck out.
I didnt like how in GX they just introduced Alchemy. I mean, you can pull it out of the bullshit that is the plot of the whole story but now there is pretty much this entire magic system. Kind of feels like they hit a roadblock with the series.
>I didnt like how in S1 they just introduced martial arts. I mean, you can pull it out of the bullshit that is the plot of the whole story but now there is pretty much this entire super-human system. Kind of feels like they hit a roadblock with the series.
The show also clearly establishes that the Alchemy is just a variation on the magic system they've been using since Fine's days. The waveforms and abilities are all the same, it's just how the magic gets implemented.
Well, ok. It is kind of stupid how humans can get insanely strong in symphoworld after a few montages. The reason Genjuro and all these other martial artists cant fight most of the time is noise. Take that away and what's the point of symphogear that are meant to fight noise? I'd rather have a Genjuro episode/fight than a Maria, Kirika, Shirabe one.
This. Show is essentially over now. The Noise were literally the reason for the gears. They're extremely specific weapons tuned specifically to fight phonic overtechnology. Any chucklefuck in power armor can compete now, and everyone else just needs to lift and watch kill bill.
I think symphogear caught on two late. S1 and S2 did ok, GX did really well, but I cant see how they recover after GX with that terrible plot.
It's basically the situation Araki faced after Battle Tendency and how he pretty much just made Jojo about something else (stands).
>magic super soldiers technically under contract with the UN
>implying they won't be used as magic super soldiers in world conflicts
>the technology and knowledge to make them was lost with Fine
>the biggest repository of complete relics was lost to the sea because of Chris
Literally the only thing I can come up with is somebody lost a sister/daughter to a geah program and is going on a revenge mission. You'd STILL need to pad it out really hard and put something for them to team up against.
S4 is really shaping up to be guaranteed SOL.
Yes, which is a good thing. Hibiki can get the fuck over her problems or get the fuck out. Not wanting to hurt people is one thing, but if your retarded pacifism towards a complete maniac leads to the deaths of thousands of others you really need to have some sense fucking slapped into you. Which is what about half the cast should've been doing to Hibiki in GX.
"Wow, seems like the thread has been pretty slow, haven't been any new posts in a while."
>tab back over
>34 hidden posts from that argument earlier
I would say I'm surprised but I'm really not.
FIS had Airgetlahm, Gungnir, Igalima, Shul Shagana, and Shenshou Jing. We know this because Fine made them into Symphogears and she's the only one who could have. Fine did not seem to have taken any trips to America during S1 since her giant laser cannon was almost complete and her plan was about to go into motion. Probably why she was getting into a bunch of trouble from American agents.
Kirika and Shirabe at least had their gears before Serena died. I'm not sure if it's state whether Serena ended up destroying the facility but I would assume so. Maria probably got Gungnir afterwards. It's harder to place them since we only have bits and pieces of their backstories. Like were Kirika and Shirabe already close before and that's why they were chosen by ZABABA, or did they become close because they both ended up wielders of the two halves?
Fine created two Gungnirs. It was labeled number 1 in S1. They're created from fragments of the relics so Fine would have been able to make two. Both of them would have been presented as Proof of Concept for 2nd Division and FIS so she could get funding.
Hey, I just minimized that idiotic senpai-kouhai argument. If the subject has changed and people have managed to contain their autism and get de-triggered, I'll take another look, but that whole debate was fucking retarded, and it's still going off the same comment chain.
In theory. It all depends on how many gears Fine made and how many are still intact/salvageable. I wouldn't be adverse to seeing them used in unconventional manners, maybe without a gear user at all like for the transport.
>Don't actually read threads to see what people are talking about
>Just make posts about other posts you don't like
I'm doing it now. See how fucking annoying it is? Now let's both be big boys and stop whining like meta-faggots when people say things we don't like.
>see how fucking annoying it is?
Yeah. Just like two shit-flinging apes arguing the definition of words.
>Now let's both be big boys and stop whining like meta-faggots when people say things we don't like.
You can safely ignore this guy, he's just shit-stirring. You really didn't miss anything of quality from earlier.
Just a reminder to watch hobbystock in the coming hours. Hopefully they put out a release date for the handsome waterfall tapestry.
A deck of Symphogear-themed cards in general would be pretty great. I've been looking for a fun set of novelty playing cards for years and I've yet to find one I really like. Symphogear cards would be awesome.
>Both guys literally just say they're going to stop whining and both stop posting
>"Ignore him, he's just shit-stirring"
Is this some kind of avant garde humor I'm just not getting?
I'd be happy with a deck of cards in general. Especially if they make Ver the JOKAH.
Not if you split the deck. Then it'd be half and half.
I was hoping it'd work like the first wave of dakis releasing around the time the second wave hit, only in regards to the tapestries. All I've really seen is the January estimate on the store page.
>he didn't pirate it to play early
>Trying to finish my first shiny new G-Rank armor set
>Mfw trying to fight Yian-Garuga in G-Rank
I think I'll go get those other parts first
Am I doing something wrong in HDN? Even with a full party of Level 99 characters, I'm getting bent over and violated in the high-level Colosseum matches. Even the one that's level 80, my characters die in 2-3 hits (doesn't help that that one is a permanent Skill Seal battle, either). Do I really need the DLC for those extra level-ups that badly, or what? I really don't want to grind out 2.5-5 million credits per character right now.
I haven't quite decided if I want to buy it yet. It was one of the games I really wanted but couldn't play because I didn't own consoles but at the same time I'm not sure if I really want to spend 30 bucks on it.
>I haven't quite decided if I want to buy it yet.
Yes you do.
You can. Beware, though. Finding roadside loli pawns and chucking them into the ocean is a tradition to some people.
Not me. I didn't know I could do that until like two months ago..
Because the game's available for pirating and has been for a while.
And even before that, it's fucking MT Framework, which runs smoother than butter on the sun after taking a nice jog. DMC4 on a decent PC, which is on the same engine, typically runs at about 400fps in 1080p.
