It's not a parallel, they were tied together in ep 2 when Carol said that she inherited the task of destroying the world from her father and Hibiki gloomily says that her father didn't leave her anything. Then later as you I'm sure can recall with anger, Hibiki's dad tells her to remember the magic words he taught her, heiki hecchara and Carol shows up taunting Hibiki about her father's inheritance. The way that this was set up in episode 2 makes me think that he wasn't supposed to remain a piece of shit but god knows the ending we got was a mess.

Incidentally immediately afterwards carol trots out her magic word--rululira--but I dunno what to say about that. A little parallel if you want it?

Come to think of it the parallel might be that way back in the G keyword about Hibiki's dad, the persecution of the concert survivors and therefore Hibiki's family, is described as reaching a point that it was like a medieval witch hunt.

So both their families were unfairly treated but where it went from there was quite different for the two of them. Anyways does it have to be parallels? Overall its thematic even if the related conclusion to it was really poorly handled.

I liked Maria a lot in the first half of GX when she was developing naturally and they weren't trying too hard with her characterization and development. She fell right into her niche, and then they took it away. You're dead on with DMJii being kind of useless and Hibiki being insufferable after GX, though. That said, Chris, Tsubasa, Miku, Genjuro, Oogawa, the anime janai trio, and all the other supporting cast are great, and if they fix Hibiki, Maria and give DMJii a purpose the cast could really shine.

We haven't got proper SoL since the culturual festival from G. We con considerar SoL some things in episode 1 like "do that at home" with HibiMiku and Chris and the beach scene in episode 7 but Kaneko had to put the Garie fight and the introduction of topdad so well, that kinda fucked the episode. Kaneko was very eager to draw parallels to topdad, and Hibiki constantly whined that her did didn't leave her with or entrust her with anything. During episode 11 in his redemption scene, the entire plot bends over backwards to give him a chance at helping Hibiki to redeem himself, and when topdad somehow gained reflexes and quick thinking that can outdo both Hibiki and Carol (remember that even Genjuro didn't step out onto the battlefield with them once this season) he tossed the the pendant that fell down. Hibiki's line used the word 託す when she said "He gave me something!" Watching it, that scene just went ahead and cheapened the concept for the sake getting topdad in on the action. Kaneko went ahead and equated the lifelong mission of a peace and medicine loving alchemist to Hibiki's dad literally throwing her a rock because he had plot armor and her and Carol had plot retardation. Basically, it was the big pottery moment for them, in the same way that Tsubasa had her pottery moment with "You would dare call these swords?!"

If you speak moon, hearing that line and realizing he was trying to tie everything together like that in that one moment was like getting slapped in the face.

Lets look at the facts from S1-GX. Between the giant laser tower that almost destroyed the moon, the giant explosion over japan that was stronger than several nukes (Or the whole FIS incident in general), the cut down the middle of K2, and the giant hole in the middle of Tokyo it's no surprise by now that SONG (And by relation Japan) isn't exactly in the most optimal position in world politics.

International Relic War is the only feasible route for S4 to go (Aside from Custodians), which could either lead to a slew of new geahs and/or a new Relic-based monster thing. The big questions are what other countries are involved and who are each of them fighting. Is it Country A vs Country B with SONG thrown in between to mediate, or Everyone vs SONG as SONG becomes public enemy number 1?

As for countries, the US is a bit fucked in Symphoverse but they could still have some of Ryoko's studies somewhere and something American enough to make into a Geah (They could bullshit Geronimo's hatchet for an axe gear, but something dumb like the pen used to write the Declaration of Independence could work). The Dark Continent is definitely up to something with Ahnenerbe being name-dropped, so they've got some stake in this. Russia and China are the only remaining big powers, and with Shenshou Jings being as common as they are we could use those as the MP Gear/mook enemies to replace the Noise.

Durandal's mythology would suggest it is indestructible and can also be used like a spear (long hilt, some myths make it the same as Hector's sword Durindana that he extended the hilt because he liked to throw it like a javelin) but in Symphogear it functions primarily as a strong sword. And Gungnir's "never miss" thing which was its only real gimmick in mythology isn't even referenced in Symphogear.

Also they added a ton of stuff to Airgetlam despite mythologically his sword is just a strong weapon that sometimes glows. Also it, Igalima, and Shul Shagana are named after figures instead of weapons which is weird.

The closest that they get to some bonus touches that tie in with the mythology is Ame-no-Habakiri's lightning and Ichaival's combat style tying in with the "fire ten arrows" thing.
